Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me Regards, [redacted]

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that the response would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below There are separate items here; the lamp and the rug cleaner Although I appreciate Bekin shopping for me, in order to do a replacement they have to be comparing apples to apples The lamp is almost inches tall; none of the examples that they sent came close to that height - most were inches tall with one being inches And the examples they sent did not include tax or shipping charges on them The photo of an equivalent lamp which they already have in their possession is inches and is very close to the design of the lamp my husband had The price of that lamp on amazon is plus tax and has free shipping If we paid insurance for replacement value it has to be for a comparable item not for one that is smaller The same rationale also applies to the rug cleaner; they sent examples of a not comparable one- we had a pro carpet cleaner while they sent a carpet washer But instead of going online to kohls where we got it from, I went to amazon and found the same one for plus tax and free shipping. So the positive is we do seem to be getting closer! Again based on the insurance coverage we paid for and then totally the checks we have gotten so far We need to be reimbursed another $for the lamp (this is the $plus $tax (free shipping) - $they have given us For the rug cleaner we need to be reimbursed yet $(this is current price of it on amazon at $+ 12(tax) = $- what they have given us for the cleaner $) So the total yet to be reimbursed is $ We are looking for Bekin to simply live up to the insurance agreement we paid for on these items We look forward to this being the last (hopefully) communicating and that we will be getting a check for the above amount in a timely fashion.Thank you Regards, [redacted]

This issue has been referred to our Safety Department and they are currently investigating the incidentIt may take several days to a few weeks to gather all of the information surrounding this incidentThe consumer originally contacted a company in Florida regarding the damageThe Revdex.com information was the first time that Bekins Van Lines was made aware of the incident Please note that the complainant, Mr***, is not a customer of Bekins Van Lines, but rather is the person whose residence sustained the damage

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that the response would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. This is not a company that cares about its customers nor their itemsIf Bekins truly wanted to make this right, one day would not make a difference as they are fully aware the USPS can be delayed for various reasonsNontheless, if they wanted to rectify this issue, they would admit their be negligence and offer money for damaged items resulting in someone from their company backing into our items that were being housed on the floor unsecuredHad they delivered all items when contractually agreed to do so, most of the items would not even have been damagedOne day grace period is not too much to ask when they've shown such carelessness and lack of responsibilityA reputable business would want their customers to be satisfied with the end result and clearly Bekibs could care less Regards, [redacted]

Your complaint filed with the Revdex.com (ID [redacted] ) has been received and a copy was forwarded to my attention for review and responseI have reviewed the documents which are included in your relocation file, including the correspondence related to your claim for damage Your claim has been reviewed by our claims department, and your file has been re-reviewed by a claims manager upon receipt of additional correspondence from youYou have received a total claim settlement in the amount of $for the missing box and for damage to your bicycle Regarding the drawers which you claimed as missing from your shipment, we must maintain our denial of liability for this itemYour shipment delivered into a self-storage unit and the missing items were not documented at the time of deliveryThe van line’s liability is terminated when a shipment delivers into a self-storage unitUnless the customer documents loss or damage on the inventory form at the time of delivery – liability is declined Please accept our apologies that you experienced any difficulties with your relocation

The tracer investigation that was conducted included contacting all of the other customers whose household goods were on the moving van when your shipment was being transportedWe cannot provide you with the other customer's information and I am sorry that you do not believe that you are being told the truthThe basis for the denial of the items reported as missing was the lack of written notations at the time of delivery and the results of the tracer investigationBekins does provide the customer with literature that informs them of their rights and responsibilitiesA copy of the inventory would also have been provided to the person at origin releasing the shipment for transportationI have enclosed a release form as a good faith gesture onlyThere has been nothing provided to this office to support the loss and our denial is being maintainedAs a compromise I have offered $to you as a cash settlement without an acceptance of liabilityPlease sign the enclosed release form and return the signed form to my attention for prompt payment Sincerely, Kathy K [redacted] Director, aims & Consumer Affairs Wheaton World Wide Moving I Bekins Van Lines, IncI Clark & Reid

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined the response would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below [Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.] Regards, [redacted] ***It's completely ridiculous to handle someone's belongings and not cover any damages they occur for same These people didn't explainanything about the insurance which, by the way, they should have covered themselves

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that the response would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below In regard to your rejection of my claim for reimbursement for the breakage, that occurred, during my move from New York, to Carmel, Indiana Bekins check for $132.00, which is not cashed, is an inappropriate remuneration for the thousands of dollars of damage, that your packers are responsible for The conclusions drawn by [redacted] , Certified Personal Property Appraiser, of [redacted] , Limited, Indianapolis, Indiana, are in his certified appraisal report, 1/3/He valued the replacement, at $3,You have this report in your possessionThe breakage was caused by improper and negligent packing, for which I paid Bekins extra moneyThe damage occurred, mostly in a foot carton, which contained items which were completely unprotectedThese possessions, which were glass and porcelain, were wrapped in single thin paperThere was no bubble wrap; no effort to couch the itemsIn addition, a life-sized zebra was transported in paper, without crating and was smashed to piecesThere was also damage to the frames of several large paintingsThe items broken, were not works of artThey were items that I have collected over many years, most taken from my mother's home, to which I have an emotional attachment This claim has nothing to do with insurance or the weight of the itemsThe fact is that, because of your packer's carelessness and failure to act with, the prudence that any reasonable person, would exercise, under the same circumstances, I conclude my complaint is validI refer you to your printed materials, which state the excellent training your packers receive, their professionalism, attention to detail, your over years, in business,; your desire to move your customers, "the same way we'd move our own family," and their expertise These are the benefits you improperly offer customers. There is not a single word of caution. On the last page of your brochure, under an enormous photo of three movers holding Bekins boxes, in front of a, side to side photo of, a B E K I N S truck, there is, in small print, information about Bekins affiliated companies that you farmed out my move toThere was no discussion of this, when I met with your salesmanIt's position, at the very the back, of your brochure, is intended to surreptitiously include information, you don't want customers to considerThis is an example of the misleading statements you, knowingly, disseminate in your brochuresYou do not have "the best interest" of your customers at heartOne thing more, despite my frequent requests, no Bekins, representative has come to my home, to inspect the damageNor do you answer telephones or lettersThis is indicative of your disregard and lack of respect for those same customers Regards, [redacted] ***

I received your reply to my letter of 10-13-My offer to send someone to inspect and take photos was not an agreement to repair the damageI agreed to have someone inspect the damage to access the damage and to provide information for further review of your claimIf your parents are to meet with the inspector Iwill need to have their information to arrange an appointment for the inspectionIn our relocation records we have a phone number for ***? If this is the correct number to call to arrange an appointment please adviseThis is merely an inspection not a repair authorization My e-mail address is Kathy [redacted] **@ wvlcorp .comPlease forward a name and phone number as a contact for the inspector Sincerely, Kathy K [redacted] Director, Claims & Consumer Affairs Wheaton World Wide Moving I Bekins Van Lines, IncI Clark & Reid

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that the response would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. As I mentioned in my letter, boxes do not have to be damaged for fragile antiques to break The movers were careless: Plus, not noted in the claim, I discovered things missing later on A large white cabinet, and boxes with family pictures and sewing machine I witnessed movers tossing boxes and stacking when they were labeled : do not stack, and "antiques: very fragile" They need to take responsibility for the damages and I will not quit until I get reimbursed I have also filed a complaint with the Indiana Attorney General's office and Consumer affairs of course Bekins is going to deny liability: I paid A LOT oF MONEY for extra insurance for these antiques, and I expect Bekins to honor it: they are not losing any money If they don't pay, I am really going to put up a stink about this company Regards, [redacted]

Dear Revdex.com: The offer of $was a compromise offer only and it is our only offer We do not agree to the $counter offer Our position of denial is being maintained and there will be no further negotiation Sincerely, Kathy K [redacted] , Director, Consumer Affairs

Your complaint states that your shipment was promised to be delivered on June 3; however, in reviewing the information for your relocation, we show that the agreed upon delivery spread or range was June through June 8, inclusiveUnder the terms of the bill of lading, as the customer you agree and are required to be able to accept delivery on any of the dates included in the delivery spreadUnfortunately, we did miss the delivery spread – as the majority of your items were delivered on June To compensate for this delay, a check (# [redacted] ) in the amount of $was mailed to you on June You advised our Customer Service Department on June that there were items missing from your deliveryOur Claims Department then initiated our standard tracing procedures in an attempt to locate the missing itemsThe items that were located were included in a second shipment which was delivered to your residence in Salt Lake City on July We apologize for the delay in making the final delivery of your household items Once you have had time to unpack and inspect everything – if you feel that there are still missing or damaged items, we would ask that you file a Claim for Lost or Damaged Goods, which can be found here: https://www.wheatonworldwide.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/verified_statement_o... Once your claim form is received by our Claims Department, the claim will be reviewed and a settlement will be made based upon the items claimed, and the released valuation option which you selected and signed for on the bill of lading Please accept our apologies that you experienced any difficulties with your relocation Sincerely, Eileen M [redacted] Director, Agency Development

Your complaint filed with the Revdex.com (ID [redacted] ) has been received and we have reviewed the documentation in your relocation fileOn behalf of Bekins Van Lines, please accept our apologies that you experienced any difficulties with your relocationAttached to this response is a copy of the bill of lading for your shipmentOn page of this document, you signed under Option – which is a waiver of Full (Replacement) Value ProtectionAs stated on the bill of lading (immediately above your signature), under this option, a claim for any article that may be lost, destroyed, or damaged while in your mover’s custody will be settled based on the weight of the individual article multiplied by centsAttached is a copy of the settlement letter mailed to you on March 7, In this settlement letter, the claims adjuster outlined the amount of the settlement, based on the liability option which you signed for on the bill of lading, and the weight of the damaged itemsAgain, please accept our apologies for the inconvenience that you experienced during your relocation

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that the response would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below I received an email from Aisha P [redacted] stating that I WAS charged for insurance "On the second page because there was nothing selected the coverage defaulted to full coverage with a zero deductible." Now conveniently they say they DIDN'T charge me ? Even though their customer service person states otherwise ? Furthermore I have dated video that shows both my 65" TV and a mirror carton still packedObviously there was a mistake made in the paperwork that I did not catch at the time my items were delivered.Additionally, on the bill of lading that I was given by the driver it states that the total charges were Now even if we add the erroneous packing charges of that equals NOT which is what they are claiming are my total charges and how they arrived at the refund of (-=overpayment) However....if we take the charges on the bill of lading (4781.54) and add (which is the amount for full coverage insurance that apparently I am NOT? being charged for) we arrive at And then -=which is the amount of the refund they sent meNow either their driver was incorrect in his bill of lading, or Bekins is incorrect in how they added up the final chargesEither way that indicates they and their employees are capable of making a mistake that is not caught at first glance which leads right into my point that their driver made a mistake in charging me for unpacking services he did NOT performI will not accept Bekins response as their calculations don't match their explanation Regards, [redacted]

Dear Revdex.comI have attached documents for review in response to the customer's complaint If you require additional information please let me know.Sincerely, Kathy [redacted] , Director Consumer AffairsWheaton World Wide Moving | Bekins Van Lines, Inc| Clark & Reid

We have reviewed your most recent response to the Revdex.comAs stated in our response to your initial complaint, on the bill of lading document for your shipment, you signed and dated the coverage option which waived the Full (Replacement) Level of Protection, and instead selected the lower Released Value of 60-cents-per-pound per articleBecause you selected the lower level of protection, as evidenced by your signature and your initials, your claim settlement amount is based on this $0.60/lb option, and the weight of the items listed in your claim Please accept our apologies that you experienced any difficulties with your relocation
