I am rejecting this response because:I used your pre paid label that you provided, it should not have gotten lost. If you can't guarantee the shipping label is correct then you are defrauding the people that sell their books back.  I had the prepaid label attached so well that it would only come off in small pieces.  If this can not get resolved then I will have to proceed with a civil suit against your company.  The only way a response is given is if you email, and you don't know if it's an adult or a child responding.  You should be able to contact you by phone like any normal respectable company.

I am rejecting this response because:
The book was not destroyed and the response from this company as the are saying " lets be adults" just shows how unprofessional they are I have pictures of how the book looked before I sent it. I am a person who worked hard to pay for the book expected to receive money for the transaction that was made amongst the many other people that this was done to. The reviews that are posted about this company says it all. Many other people have experienced the same situation I did that shows a red flag. I would never send a book that is destroyed beacause obviously I would know that I would not receive anything back why even waste my time. After I told them I had pictures of how I sent the book I never received a reply back. On trust pilot it shows all the negative reviews from this company that other customers experienced which was the same thing that occurred to me. Overall "like adults" fine I said that if my book was " destroyed" to send me my book back that's all I wanted and of course I was told no.

It's nice the client is getting an education into the publishing world. Per the agreement he agreed to accept, but perhaps didn't read: "Loose Leaf / Spiral / Unbound Editions CollegeFocus does not purchase any unbound materials commonly known as “loose leaf”, “unbound”, or “spiral bound” editions of books even if a quote is presented on the website.  Do not send loose leaf, spiral, or unbound editions as they will result in no payment and will not be returned – see Transfer of Ownership." We are aware publishers don't always give the loose leaf edition a separate ISBN which is why we specifically call out that situation.

Thanks for your feedback. Check #[redacted] was mailed out via USPS First Class on 6/5/17 and hopefully it arrives to you soon.

CollegeFocus waits 60 days from issuance of first check before issuing a new one as sometimes it does take that long for payment to be delivered, or have payment returned as not deliverable, but mainly to mainly protect against people trying to scam us.Customer has the option of paying a check...

cancellation fee if she doesn't want to wait 60 days from original issue date of check.Customer has been informed of her options each time she has emailed.

I am rejecting this response because: I do not believe that it's counterfeit because I purchased this book from school. I do not think it is very professional that there is no customer service number for this company when I need to communicate with you. I never heard back after A MONTH so what else would I do? There are several customer complaints about this company. I have sent several books to others for sale and had not one problem with them. I think the counterfeit idea is to save your own bottom. I will never do business with this company ever again!!

I am rejecting this response because: The check has been "on it's way" for longer than that. I am starting to think I won't get the money at...

all. I tried calling earlier and got a voicemail, and after seeing all negative reviews online, I am convinced I will not see the money. I will take a direct bank deposit, or I would like the book back.

Customer's PayPal email was confirmed on June 28th and payment will be issued in 2 to 5 business days according to our normal payment schedule.  Customer's emailed demand to be paid within a special time period was ignored as our policies are not a negotiation.

Customer did not sent book for which they were quoted. They instead sent an Instructor's Edition clearly marked "Not for Resale".As the publishers clearly indicate this book was not for legal resale and it was destroyed per the legal wishes of the publishers and the terms of service customer agreed...

I am rejecting this response...

because:According to my research, ISBNs are different for the same book that is produced in different variations. For example, an ISBN of the same book that is unbound  or loose leaf has a different ISBN for the same book that is hardcover or paperback. The ISBN that I entered was from the same loose leaf edition WHICH PROVIDED COLLEGEFOCUS provided me a quote of $47.60 for. Thus, that should be what it is worth. Please refer to this article: [redacted]. In this article, an owner of a publishing company states, "Any variation in the format: hardcover, softcover, audio, spiral bound… need a different ISBN. Helps you (and bookstores) know what you’re getting." Regards, Matthew Gebhardt

We have been specifically trained by the publishers to detect potential counterfeits - it is a very real issue. The customer is welcome to read an article on how the publishers are actively suing one of the largest textbook distributors and bookstore owners:[redacted]Unless one is buying directly from the publisher there's no guarantee you are get a 100% legitimate book.We are sorry the customer was sold a counterfeit book, but we are merely following the law.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
Revdex.com,I finally received the check in yesterday's mail.  I appreciate all of your help resolving this issue. It took 4 months to receive payment from this company.  I hope this complaint stays in your system so others won't get taken advantage of.Thank you again,[redacted]

CollegeFocus is bankrupt and permanently closed.

I am rejecting this response because:
3 mos ago they stated it was sent out yet it never arrived. I have never had a problem with my postal carrier or the usps. I believe this is a lack of professionalism on Lisa, the gate-keeper of this company's part.Until I actually recieved my payment of the items I sent them over three months ago I think its necessary to keep this case open to ensure integrity with this company.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:There has not been an effort on the part of CollegeFocus to come to a mutually beneficial agreement. While their buyback policy is strong, and in my and many others' opinion, not transparent, there has been no intent on CollegeFocus' part to make a resolution. Since I have done business with CollegeFocus, I have been displeased with the rude behavior within the context of this Revdex.com complaint and externally within emails back and forth. It is not a crime to be disrespectful; however, it is unprofessional and unnecessary. I have the right to tell my side of the story, and so does CollegeFocus, but the disrespectful behavior has no place in this context. While this may be an inconvenience to CollegeFocus, this has been an inconvenience to me as well and am looking for a simple and mutually beneficial agreement.

I am rejecting this response because:[redacted] and Revdex.com,I still haven't received my payment and it's been more than 60 days. Please resend and confirm when sent. Thanks,

It is unfortunate the client decided to accept our terms of service without reading them where it is clearly spelled out we do not buy loose leaf editions, they will be rejected, and destroyed.[redacted]

We received your letters dated September 8, 2017 detailing the above referenced complaints yesterday (September 14. 2017). The complaints appear to be exact duplicates of each other, which is symptomatic of the acute ignorance and incompetence displayed by both of you in making these unfounded,...

defamatory complaints against our company. For the following reasons, we hereby demand that you cease and desist your pursuit of these complaints, withdraw any actions you have taken with respect to these complaints, and provide a full and complete apology. We also hereby demand that the Revdex.com (Revdex.com) immediately cease and desist from listing or affiliating our company with any other entity who happens to call themselves [redacted] and erroneously describing our business as a seller/buyer of books of any type. In the event you fail to do so, we will have no alternative but to bring legal and other appropriate action against you, including but not limited to actions for defamation, abuse of process, and malicious prosecution. Since 2004, we have been in the business of educational consulting. advising students in the college admissions process. We are a limited liability company duly authorized and in good standing with the State of [redacted]. We are also duly licensed to do business in the City of [redacted], [redacted]. Our office has always been in [redacted], [redacted] and we do no business with any person or entity outside of [redacted]. We do not and never have bought or sold any types of books. We do not and never have had any affiliation with any other company named [redacted] or any other company. Since receiving these complaints, we have discovered that Revdex.com has erroneously and wrongfully listed our company online as a vendor of textbooks, which we are clearly not. Revdex.com has also listed our company online as an affiliate of a company located at [redacted]. of which we have absolutely no affiliation. As a result of Revdex.com's extreme negligence, we have been subjected to the above complaints plus numerous: other harassing phone calls in the last several months, causing us to file a police report with the City of [redacted], Report Number [redacted]. We no longer answer calls from out of the area phone numbers and our voicemail message clearly refers all complainants to the [redacted] Police Department report to protect us from daily harassment [redacted] has also been negligent and careless in making her complaints. First of all. [redacted] and [redacted] could have easily discerned from an online search that we are a very different business from the company [redacted] allegedly did business with in [redacted]. [redacted]. Also a. simple review our domain names and email addresses would have clearly revealed that we are not the same business entity as the company [redacted] allegedly sold her book(s) to. A phone call to us, a search with the State of [redacted] business services, and a review of the City of [redacted] licensing services would have also shown the error of your ways. [redacted]. Revdex.com is in the business of collecting information and data on businesses, these allegations are particularly egregious. Rather than using resources to erroneously charging innocent businesses, we suggest that Revdex.com diligently pursue the entity that is apparently scamming people in its own city. We look forward to your immediate response and remedial actions.Sincerely,[redacted]

Customer was paid exact quote for the following book:Strategic Market Management[redacted]Unfortunately, the following book was counterfeit:Strategic Management: Concepts[redacted]Seller's information has been surrounded to the publisher per agreement.Seller most likely has zero qualifications...

to determine whether a book is counterfeit, but we believe the publisher is adequately qualified to determine that the book was counterfeit.Due to the legal nature of dealing with counterfeits we no longer offer a support number and all correspondence is handled via email.

I am rejecting this response because:
This is ridiculous just listen to the way you are speaking to me. First of all, you said the box was not destroyed as shows it was not destroyed when you received it nor when I sent it . I repeat for the millionth time which you continue to ignore to send me my book back. The book that was so poorly received and destroyed according to you. Now if like you said it was destroyed and not worth anything than return it to me like many other companies do. This is upsetting I am a student who is going to school to study to be a nurse to help people out in the world and then you encounter problems like these that really do not make any sense. If you want to steal my book fine just remember that it all comes to an end at a point. The way you speak shows lack of professionalism you should really work on that but ofcourse your not this company scams people what can be expected.
