DON'T DO IT!!!!, It's not worth the headache, find some other means, went through them in early July via a check cashing/payday loan store. The clerk was really trying to sell me on this as if she was getting a commission for everyone she signed up. So I figured I'd take the bait and signed up, got approved for 700.00 but only requested 300.00, after fees and interest, I owed them 336.00, I don't recall if I was given a disclosure notice to read, all they had me do was provide about three signatures. I asked about the paperwork and they told me that I can view the document(s) by logging in to my account, Seemed a little odd to do this kind of transaction that way but it was done and I left. Got home and decided to log into my account to check out the docs and to my surprise, it's not what they make it seem to be. As long as you have that account open whether you take money or not, they will slap you with an annual fee with interest so it was my mission to pay these people off and not use them anymore. Fast forward to the end of July, I go into the check cashing store to pay off the line of credit and close the account, the 336 I thought owed had grown to 339.50 (interest I guess), I was a little irritated with that but I was determined to be done with this mess. I told the clerk I wanted to close the account and she told me I would have to pay an additional 31.00 to close the account. WHAT!!! I told her that was crazy but I paid it because I wanted nothing else to do with this shake down. I then asked the clerk if the account was closed and she said it was but lo and behold it was not. What they don't tell you is that even though you closed the account through the originator (store where you applied for the line of credit) You have to contact crestline via email and request the account be closed or you will continue to rack up fees and interest. After sending an email to them, I contacted them via telephone three times to ensure that my account was closed and they said it was. Save yourself a headache and don't sign up for this but if you decide to, be forewarned, it is not as cut and dry as they try to make it. There are associated fees that they don't come right out and tell you about so think about it before you take the plunge.

was apayday loan operation. Now they only offer lines of credit through G *** (DBA as Crestline Finance). This company charges an annual fee of $150 for access to the credit line, something many people miss when they sign up. I ws aware of it when I used their services in 2019 and paid the fee. However, I DID NOT RENEW for 2020. Yet they continue to call home and harass my wife while I am at work wanting their fee for this year. In March, I paid what they said I owed for a partial term and also submitted in writing at the *** location that I did not want to continue as a crestline customer and did not wish to renew the line of credit. Now the harassing calls are coming again. What part of NO do they not understand?

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because: I wa informed of the annual charge. That is not the point. I paid the $150 fee in full when I opened the line of credit and did not renew it. This is the same line they gave me in March when I paid $17.25, payment receipt *** on account ***. they told me then if I paid that amount that would satisfy them and close my account. Now they still want more money for nothing. It will just never stop.

This company is essentially stealing from people and extorting money from those seeking a quick loan. I borrowed $500, only received $475 and was told to pay back $550. Then I get a “statement” that is an annual fee of $25, interest on that, a 10% processing fee to pay the bill and another $2. charge! Now, I’m not new and know to read the fine print but after reading through all of the finer print and continuing through the jargon it was still NOT made clear of these additional fees or charges. Nor is it very clear that this is a very expensive line of credit.
JUST DON’T TAKE THE LOAN! This company is scamming people out of their money and because it’s written somewhere in the tiny font of 14 pages you won’t win.

+2

This is the worst finance company I have ever encountered!! You are also having to pay a 10% fee for making a payment which is outrageous so you are paying back your loan with interest and having to pay an additional 10% fee on top of that! Also once you pay off your balance there is a annual fee that you are charged and this line of credit remains open . If you don’t pay off the annual fee and leave the line of credit open it will report as a negative on your credit report as a default credit!!!!!!! What the heck!!! This company does not give you an option to close the line other than sending a WRITTEN REQUEST!!! They are nothing but a ripe off and should be shut down!!!!!!

I paid off a loan at *** a few months ago. No one said anything about additional interest. Since then, I have gotten harassing phone calls to my office and my home. They are even calling my family. I do not owe them any additional money. Last time I talked to a man who said he would mark my account as "refusal to pay". He said that if I had wanted to close the account I should have put it in writing. No one ever told me that. Tonight a woman I talked to said I owed the money and they would keep calling. I'm not talking to them anymore and not answering. They need to stop calling.

I took a loan from *** and asked what I owed and paid them off in full on may 3rd 2020. Now I am getting a bill for from crestline 58.87 to close this account. I was never told this by *** that I would have to pay these fees as they told me I paid it in full. So I call *** and they said that I signed a paper agreeing to this. I signed about 10 different papers with so much documentation that was impossible to read while being rushed. I trusted them. They told me I was paid in full. And now they are still wanting more money from me to exit this contract.

I was told I was paid in full by ***, they never told me I owed any more money to another party. Had I known I would of never agreed to this loan from ***. *** just tells you to sign all the paperwork and never said anything about oweing a third party any money after I paid them in full. I've been to many cash advance places and never heard of such a thing. *** is at fault for not informing me of these charges and telling me to sign all this paperwork in a hurry from the beginning without informing me that a third party would come after me for more money. *** said I'm paid in full, Crestline needs to get that money from *** that they feel they are owed for not bringing this to the customers attention from beginning.

In January of 2020. I took out a loan which I paid back on time. Once the loan was paid in full I assumed the account was closed with no additional fees. Lately, I have been getting calls from Creastline Financial regarding fees the company says I owe. I was never made aware that this account would stay open for 1 year or of an annual fee. Due to the annual fee not paid. I have accrued interest. The customer service rep at California Check Cashing explained this to be similar to a paid day advance. I was not given a written contract or verbally explained all the details of this loan.

This is the worst company I have ever encountered in life. They do not share true and complete information, On top of that, they lie then deny. I was told I had a 10 day grace period beyond my due date to pay them off in full. Of course that was not true, the ran my ach anyway and caused my
account to be overdrawn and bounce checks. When I spoke to management they refused to take responsibility for what was told. I hope they are run out of business for taking advantage of american people.

I borrowed ***rom Crestline Finance through Check Smart. I was told that I had to pay back *** on May 3, 2020. They charged me *** for more interest. I paid the loan off before it was due. I was told by Check Smart that I had to call Crestline Finance Customer Service. I called Crestline Customer Service and they informed me I needed to send a e-mail to Crestline Finance within 7 days from the time I paid the loan off or I would be charged interest. I had to send the e-mail stating to cancel my line of credit. I have sent 2 e-mails and Crestline has not responded. I will be sending 3 e-mails a day to Crestline Finance until they return my messages. I owe Crestline Finance no money.

Consumer copied Revdex.com on a letter to the business - the text of the letter has been copied below:April
27, 2020On January 29, 2020 I borrowed,! believe$400.00. I went into the *** in ***,Ohio to do my regular borrow some cashand pay it back with fees and interest which I did in Februarywhen it was due. I was told on that day if I sent a check into *** I wouldn't have to pay the additional fee. So that is what I did for my next $400 that
I borrowed. Still at this time I believed I was stil lon the same loan agreement that I had been familiar with for years. I was not told in person of the annual charge for this loan continuing for the year. Yes, I am now aware it is in the paperwork that I signed but I feel I was misled at the time of my first 400 loan now that it is now joined with ***. The employees need to make sure the customers are aware of this change verbal instead reading a contract that is on a small pad the size of a Iphone screen, I feel they know the people who come in for this fast cash need it and you can get away with catching us off guardof the change,j ust like what happened to me. This needs to be a highlighted agreement to previous customers like myself who has borrowed from Check Smart for years.I sent a check then in March for $400.00 Check $764 on March 13th, which at that time I thoughtI was all paid up since that's what I was told at the store in ***, until I looked at my statement and saw I still had an amount due. This was the annual fees that I was not properly pointedout to me on this new agreement. After a couple of disturbing phone calls I found that I can not get out of this year's agreement which I do not agree with. That is why I am writing this letter to ***, Check Smart and a copy of the Revdex.com.Since I was not going to get out of this agreement I borrowed another$300 since I was getting charged for the service. Well, another disturbing and misleading conversation this time with someone from ***.I was goingto send in my $300.00 plus the fee charge of like 30 something dollars cant remember the exact amount I was quoted I would owe on my due date. During this conversation I was told I would only save like 2 to 3 dollars if I
sent a check through the mail virus to my debit card over the phone. So I decided to just do it ove rthe phone and of course my $332 dollar became$361.96 for the charge of the phone that I was not told would occur. So after this very disturbing business call with your agency I am requesting a waiver of the rest of my annual fee. I have been misled by the store Check Smart in ***, Ohio and now a phone conversation with *** that did not add the additional $61.96 fee to my $300 loan that could have been 30 dollars cheaper. I borrow this money because I am hurting for money to pay bills so this 30 dollars is a big chunk to me.I appreciate a response back from you in regards to this waiverof the balance of the annual fee, I am not going to borrow from your company again or recommend anyone to borrow money from your agency. I also am going to make sure that the Credit Business Bureau is aware of how unprofessional,
knowledge your employees are with their customers. Thank you for you rcooperation in this matter and I wait for a positive and encouraging response from your agency. Cc:

May 18, 2020 12:15 PM “The consumer indicated by phone that the company resolved the complaint.”

Horrible business. I loaned through Cash Max in Bellefontaine, OH. I called them for my payoff and I paid it off over the phone on March 28th. NOTHING was said about this "cost of line of credit". I am thinking that I am done with this crap. A month later I get a call saying I owe 4 payments of $28.94 to "pay off" this line of credit. And then when it is paid off I need to send them an e-mail to tell them to close the account or I will get billed for another year for this "Line of Credit". Surely this cannot be legal!!!

I recieved a loan from *** and paid it off in full. Now I find out that I still have to pay intrest to crestline for a loan that is paid off. I paid intrest the entire time of the loan, only to have to continue to pay interest after it's paid off? Something isn't right. Crestline is the poster child of a loan shark.

My story is the same as every one on here. Got a ***oan, paid it off 2 weeks later. Got another one for *** immediately, paid that one off on time. At that point, I should’ve been done with these people. Thought I was until they called me 2 months later talking about I owe ***Not one time was any other fees discussed with me.
Each response to these complaints from them are exactly the same. Pre written canned responses. Sorry, but you can’t say all 27 complaints about the EXACT SAME THING are false. And that 27 people are lying about not being told about extra recurring fees. I feel bad for the ones owing ***, *** or more. I was only told I owe *** It’s gonna be a much bigger bill I imagine because there is no way in (Word rejected) I will pay this bogus charge. You take money out MY account unauthorized, especially NOW, when almost the entire country is not working due to a pandemic and people everywhere dying....oh (word rejected) no. You trying to rob the wrong (word rejected) for that lil ***. Your employee had MULTIPLE opportunities to tell me about this fee; during the first loan I came in to get, when I came in to pay it off, when I got the second loan (immediately after paying the 1st), or even when I returned to pay off that one. Not one word was mentioned. Now I guess I’ll receive the same canned response, saying that I was “well aware” of these fees. But I can promise you, if I was, if ALL OF THESE COMPLAINING CUSTOMERS were aware of these hidden fees, we would not be taking the time to complain to the Revdex.com, all 27 of us having the same (Word rejected) experience. Y’all need to be shut down and I’m confident it won’t be long at all till your days of robbing financially vulnerable people comes to an abrupt end. You are pathetic to think you can keep getting away with it. Might as well start snatching purses from little old ladies in the parking lot. There’s absolutely no difference in what you’ve done, other than that the government and your consumers have let you get away with it. And that you’re callous enough to try and fraudulently collect money from people at a time when peoples loved ones are dying and we can’t even leave our homes...just disgusting.

in February, I went into a check cash facility called CashMax for a cash advance to pay a contractor to finish his job since the banks were closed. The young lady behind the counter told me that she could assist me. I signed one piece of paper and initialed it and then signed the keypad at their counter and hit the green button. She told me I had 2 weeks to pay back the advance in full and gave me the cash I needed. I did not get any paperwork, just the cash and the receipt from the her cashing the 'check'. She told me I could go online and pay my payment if I did not want to come into the store. I tried, but I was not given an account number to confirm my customer account, so I went back to the Facility and paid my advance in full. When I was paying the amount due, she asked me if I wanted to re-borrow the amount and I said "No, this was just a one time thing. I wont need to borrow money again." Then the young lady said "Okay, then I will close your account." After she handed me my receipt of repayment on the advance, I asked again for clarification that my account was closed and she dd not need me to sign anything. She said "no, you're good to go." a month later I get a phone call stating I had a payment due in 2 days, when I explained to her that I paid it in full, she said "no you have a line of credit that is opened for a full year and it has a monthly payment due of ***" I was confused, because I had no idea what she was talking about. She then argued with me that I signed the documents and agreed to the terms of the loan. I had no paperwork of the loan agreement, nor did I sign 7 pages and agree to it. She apologized to me and proceeded to tell that to close my account I needed to pay the amount in full and write a letter stating that I no longer wish to have my line of credit opened. After talking to the Crestline Finance call center and supervisor on duty, Randy, it was implicated that it was the underwriters fault and not the loan companies. I talked to the district manager of checksmart, Faye, and she said that the account is with Crestline and not them and that it would be up to them to close my account or figure out something else. So no one has taken blame, even though, Faye said she got a confession from the employee about her not explaining to me what the transaction truly was and for not making sure I had all necessary documents about my loan. After 3 days of trying to figure out what was going to happen with this account, I was told by Randy, Crestline Finance, that my account is going to stay active and I have to pay them to close it and that if I did not it was going to go to collections. He also said he sent my file to the "high ups" and they would contact me if they felt like my account needed to be addressed. I have been used, misspoken too, threatened, and scammed by both Crestline Finance and Checksmart. Borrowers beware. I should not have to pay for something that I had no knowledge of being done. it even took me 7 phone call conversations to get my account number with Crestline to be able to log into the customer portal website to see what account my name and social is attached to. This was my first time ever going to a place like this, and it is the last time. I will be seeking legal advise and action along with the *** office will be notified with this complaint. This complaint will also be on CheckSmart, Community Choice Financial.

Revdex.com:

I reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find the resolution is satisfactory to me.

Regards

Terrible!!! Avoid at all costs! I borrowed from from a pay day loan twice and paid it in full however many months later I continue to get calls from crestline saying I owe them an annual fee even if I’m not borrowing any money. I have to pay almost $200 to close this “ line of credit” that I don’t use otherwise I will continued to be charged interest on the equity of the line of credit that’s available!?! Really so I’m being charged interest on a debt I do not have? How is that legal?!? And this fee is in addition to what it costs if you do the pay day loan when you borrow and cash the check.

Consumer states:

"I borrowed ***. pd back ***. They have a *** fee you have a year to pay. Then they want you to pay interest till *** is pd on *** I never borrowed or intend to borrow, never asked for *** amt just . How can they make me pay interest of something I didn't get or intend to get. I told them this & its too bad they say. Never was told about paying on the ***. or I would of never borrowed. Needed it to help bury an ex-husband."

I went in to pay my full balance and it was advised I was paid off I received a call stating that I still owe interest and fees for the year. I was not tolls I had to pay this and would have at that time. With the coronavirus in place I do not have the funds to pay this off and they are not willing to help out at all they are accruing or charging for interest on a balance that has been paid off info they are still adding fees every month and charging interest on fees this is not right and they are not willing to help at all. They were not upfront and clear about this and did this on purpose to continue to charge me interest on a balance that is paid off.
