Refinance of my home at *** which was started on March 18, 2019 and has not closed as of July 16, 2019. I was court ordered to have my ex-wife name removed from Loan. I explained to the Loan Originator Kris R, that I had to have her name off of the current home loan by end of Spring 2019. Loan was to close within 20 days and still has not closed. In addition, I was told not to make current loan payment in April and then on April 30th instructed to pay the loan and they would reimburse me for fees. I continue to contact them and the last response I received was from Kim M on July 1,2019. Her reply was that they were waiting on the underwriter. I paid the July Mortgage on July 16th and continue to receive monetary penalties in addition to compromising my Credit. Now, ex-wife has threatened to take legal action against me. I live in *** and Legal Fees, transportation, lodging etc., will be in excess of $10,000.00 and could result in termination of my employment in ***. I have made Cross Country Mortgage aware of all these circumstances and still no closing date. I am being offered a six month loan at 9,5% with 1.5 points and additional refinance after the six months without even being informed of what that rate will or would be. This is not an ethical lender. My appraisal was $370,000.00 and current balance is $251,000.00.

Unfortunately, CrossCountry Mortgage was unable to provide this customer with a mortgage loan due to a loan modification on another property owned by the customer.

My bank has sent payment to crosscountry mortgage and crosscountry mortgage states that they have not received anything. Payment has been sent to crosscountry mortgage June 26th. called multiple times to have the situation escalated. No one is helping or escalating.

CrossCountry Mortgage Response • Jul 17, 2019

A CrossCountry Mortgage representative spoke to this customer on July 11, 2019 to inform her that the original payment was not received. Since that conversation, the customer has submitted a payment with has been received.

Run as fast as you can! I was working on selling my home to a friend who chose this company to handle their mortgage. They were working with Christian Covert. Over the course of more than 2 months, he constantly told us the same thing, “I should have an answer today” blah blah blah. They moved the closing at least 3 times, ignored my calls and the buyers calls, never returned calls or got back to us even when he specifically said he would. Calling the main office would only result in whoever answered saying they would get a message to him to call us back ASAP. That never happened either. Buying/selling a house is a time consuming and stressful process for everyone involved, but if this mortgage officer was a responsible and professional person, he would do what he could to help assuage our doubts and worries. Instead the whole process was made worse than it would have been either way due to a lack of professionalism and communication. WORST COMPANY EVER TO DEAL WOTH DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME.

Do not believe in the information of the radio not everything is true, they deceive you and after waiting time they do not contact you, they do not return calls or they respond to emails, I do not really know what they earn with deceit and lies, they need to buy a house with serious people and able, for pity I learned it by losing money, and with this I hope no one else loses money

There is an inquiry on me credit report from this company on June 8th 2019, that I have not authorized. I've reched out to them several times to get this rectified with no avail.

CrossCountry Mortgage Response • Jul 02, 2019

As part of the customer residential mortgage loan inquiry, she provided authorization for the credit pull via CrossCountry Mortgage's online mortgage application on June 5, 2019.

Credit consent field is on page one.

This company will call at all times of the day and night and called me at 9:00pm at nite. I then tried to call them back right away and their auto machine said that I had to call back during regular business hours. They don't have to follow their own hours but I do, that is wrong. I know by law they cant be calling at this time of the night.

First off when I contacted them about a refinance they immediately got on the ball sent me an email of the paperwork they needed and I immediately sent the documentation to them, this was in February, here it is middle of June and I still don’t have an answer on when I’m going to have a closing date or anything, they contacted my home owners insurance company to inform them they are now my lien holder, the only problem with that is I HAVEN'T CLOSED ON MY MORTGAGE and they did this in May, so now if something happened to my house or my property they get a check and the current mortgage company is not getting paid and I’m screwed. When you call to talk to your loan processor they won’t answer the phone, or email, or text messages, they won’t keep you informed of your status, which I have asked for daily, and they tell you were all ready to move forward and then they find something wrong and push you to the back of the line because all of a sudden they have more important things in front of you.
Here is an idea!!!!! How about when you get someone’s process down to just a couple of steps you concentrate on that one person and get them done so you can work on the next person instead of moving everyone to the back of the line, I had plans for my house with the refinance, and unless a miracle happens s I will be lucky to close Christmas, at this point I’m so far into it I can’t change anything but I will be looking for another company to take over my loan as soon as this is done, I can promise you that.

The branch manager of CrossCountry Mortgage in *** has been engaging in practices that are unethical at best. This individual has discussed private details related to my loan with the company to the tenant of my property. As a home owner with a loan being serviced by CrossCountry Mortgage Inc, I feel that confidentiality has been breached and I have no trust in this organization. When attempting to file a complaint against the branch manager in question, I was directed to contact a number which led me to an answering service. After leaving a message more than four times without a response back from a representative, I felt an obligation to report CrossCountry Mortgage to the proper authorities.

CrossCountry Mortgage Response • May 21, 2019

CrossCountry Mortgage spoke to the customer on May 20, 2019. The customer was informed that his mortgage loan was NOT being serviced by the *** branch, but by CrossCountry Mortgage's servicing center in ***. The customer was also advised to contact the servicing center if he did not want his tenant/mother to receive the mortgage statements as he currently had the statements and other related mortgage materials going to the residence occupied by his tenant/mother. CrossCountry Mortgage is not sharing any of the customer's confidential information with anyone.

Horrible service... Cross Country has moved my closing 3 times since 4/8/2019. I recommend using another lender. I am suppose to close tomorrow 5/10 this is my final extension and I have not heard from them at all to confirm and provide a time for tomorrows closing....today is Thursdays... extremely incompetent, unreliable.

I am a seller in a home real estate transaction. I signed a contract for sale with a buyer that was using this company for their mortgage. This company provided a pre-approval, so I thought it would be legitimate. Unfortunately, closing dates came and went with lots of promises to close but never able to produce documentation supporting their promises. Please beware of using this company, they will lie, waste a lot of your time and resources, and ultimately not close the deal.

March 28th, 2019
I would not recommend Cross Country Mortgage out of Vancouver, WA to anybody. The services of Cody S, Renee S and Mellonee B are horrible. They lie, mislead, misadvise, false promise, and don’t know what each other are doing in the loan process. Instead of working together each one of them basically started from scratch. We were working with them the buy a piece of property, pay a contractor and purchase a new manufactured home to be set up on the piece of property. We started with that type of loan and ended with that type of loan. We placed our offer on the property in Oct 2018. After asking for three extensions from the sellers to complete our deal because Cross Count6ry Mortgage could not keep their act together and process paperwork correctly we would never meet our closing date. After being assured that we were approved for this loan multiple times we kept asking for the extensions, losing our earnest money to receive one extension, losing our asbestos inspection money, again not meeting the closing date, requesting another extension. Once again being assured that we were approved for our loan. But then again not meeting the closing date. We asked for our third extension paying for the appraisal, because we were once again assured that we were approved for this loan. We then lost that money too after Cross Country Mortgage couldn’t meet the final dead line for closing. So now we are out over two thousand dollars. We lost the piece of property that was going to be our dream location and our place of retirement. This was a 5-month process that failed. I will never recommend Cross Country Mortgage to anyone. I will never recommend Cody S, Renee S or Mellonee B to anyone. They do not know what they are doing and should not be in the mortgage business if they are going to treat their customers this way. Steer clear of this company.

Cross Country Mortgage provided a mortgage refinance loan quote which I approved. I paid $385 for an appraisal on my home. Since the appraisal of my home on March 6, 2019 the company has been unresponsive to my emails and phone calls to receive a verifiable update on the status of my loan and whether they plan on processing my loan. The loan officer stated I qualified for the quoted loan based on the income and home value I provided for the loan application. Both my monthly income and home appraisal came in higher than the quotes on the application so the loan shouldn't have any problem being approved.

CrossCountry Mortgage Response • Mar 21, 2019

CrossCountry Mortgage, Inc. (“CrossCountry”) is in receipt of Revdex.com Complaint ID, dated March 19, 2019. CrossCountry has since been in contact with the Customer and resolved any issues associated with the complaint. CrossCountry and the Customer are proceeding with the loan.

I was contacted by a telemarketer who put me through to Richard M of Cross Country Mortgage, his phone number is ***. I was looking to consolidate a home mortgage and a home equity loan. When I asked Richard what conforming 30 year fixed loans are going for he told me as low as 3% fixed depending on your credit. I told him my credit is in the high 700's. Since I was very interested in a loan below 4%, Richard insisted to get my social security number to run my credit before he could work out the numbers. That in itself is not typically how lenders work to give a estimated quote. I fell for and believed his blatant lie of rates below 4% and gave him my social security number in trust he was going to work a fair deal for me. He ran my credit, and like I had told him all 3 credit bureaus had me in the high 700s. Richard said that was great, and he'd call me back within an hour. So he calls me back and floored me with a fixed interest rate of 5.25%, plus lender fees, and title fees (as he said) somewhere between $3,000 and $6,000. I asked what happened to 3%, he laughed. I told him that prior to this conversation, I had spoken to two other lenders who took my word for my credit score, and their rate for a 30 year fixed conventional loan was 4.25% with no points. Just about ~ $3,000 in fees. Richard patronized me and asked for the name of the lenders I had spoken to, so he could call them to refinance his home. Very unprofessional, and I believe Cross Country Mortgage is dishonest and trying to scam people into lying about their rates. In the end, he should have never deceived me in getting my social to run my credit report. Who knows, maybe they train their staff to do this to commit identity theft

CrossCountry Mortgage Response • Mar 01, 2019

CrossCountry Mortgage, Inc. (“CrossCountry”) records indicate that the Customer inquired about interest rates for a conventional no-cash out refinance mortgage loan with loan originator Richard M. Mr. M advised Customer that interest rates vary depending on the Customer’s credit. Mr. M then asked Customer to authorize a credit pull and provide his social security number so that he could provide him with an accurate quote, to which Customer agreed. Once Mr. M was able to review Customer’s credit, he provided Customer with the quote. Neither CrossCountry, nor Mr. M, would ever use Customer’s social security number without prior authorization.

Customer Response • Mar 04, 2019

They are using lying tactics to try and win business, examples are having a foreign telemarketing service screen prospective customers. Then they lied to my saying they could lower my rate n my mortgage, under 4% by lying that the only way they could accomplish that is to run my credit. Their lie convinced me to let them run my credit. My credit came back as almost excellent, bit they told me the best they could do was a loan at 5.25%. That was almost 1% higher than the national average. Also, I was told that them running my credit would lower my credit rating, but I checked it, and it lowered my credit rating from almost 800 to the low 700s.

I will not accept their response. At minimum, I want my complaint posted on your website to help protect other innocent customers from getting scammed.

Please let me know what else you need for me to convince you this is real, and they're using sketchy tactics to earn business from naive customers of which I'm not one.

Sincerely

CrossCountry further would like to add that it is industry standard for a loan originator to request authorization for a credit pull in order to provide an accurate quote depending on the customer’s individual credit profile. In addition, by the Customer’s own admission, he was looking to refinance and had already reached out to several other lenders in order to compare rates. According to his credit report, Customer had at least two other inquiries within the last 120 days that may have affected his score.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]

The quote Mr. M gave me was outrageous interest rate of 5.75% when I had an above average credit score of 780. He baited me claiming he could get interest rates as low as 3% fixed. That was the reason I agreed to give Mr. M my social security number. My credit is outstanding, so the claim the rate was based on my credit score is a bold face lie. It's called bait and switch. the nationwide average 30 year fixed conventional loan at that time was 4.25%. Mr. M tacked on an extra 1% which I know was a way for him and Cross Coutry Mortgage to cheat their customers. Fortunately, I was smart enough not to take the bait. My goal here is to have the Revdex.com put on the record a caution to innocent, not too saavy people who get suckered into unfair high rates based on lies.

Regards

Tony D was the loan officer at Cross Country Mortgage I was dealing with. He talked to me about a 4.5% 30 yr conventional loan. At the time I thought it was a good deal. I started loan application. No fees mentioned on application. I found out through work I get a .25% discount on mortgage loan through ***. I looked into it further and the rate was much better. I told Tony what I could get there and I felt this was the best option for me. He started bashing *** and told me they were the worst bank to get a mortgage through and to ask Denise my realtor. Additionally their rates are always higher than other companies and todays current rate with Cross Country is 4.125%. After I received the loan estimate and compared to ***s loan estimate there was 3k difference in price. *** had asked me if I was paying points for the rate Cross Country had offered me. I explained no that was their current rate per Tony but I would double check. When I called Tony he told me that I was paying 2k for points but really my seller was paying it because they are giving me 4k towards closing cost. Again he got very defensive and was abrasive. Then Jeannie started giving me different loan options to try and show me what I better deal I could get from cross country. Truly all that did was confuse me. At this point I don't trust Tony because he mislead me and hid the fact I was paying for points. This is something that should be disclosed to the consumer. I do not think anywhere in my paper work I signed that the bank could hide fees in loan estimates. *** was up front and honest and had much better customer service. I decided to proceed with them for the loan. Next thing I knew I received a text from my realtor that my appraisal was completed and appraised at my purchase price. I was totally shocked that it had been completed and no one informed me of this. Tony did not tell me he was proceeding with appraisal or even offer to postpone it. Now he is trying to tell me I owe $500 for an appraisal and if I do not pay he will send me to collection. I'm disgusted with the way this loan situation was handled and how information was withheld or not fully disclosed. I would never consider doing business with a company that has employees that act like this. Buying and selling a home are stressful situations and your loan officer should not be causing more stress, headaches, and be dishonest. I work in the healthcare profession and have to disclose everything to my patients. If I acted in this manner I would not have a job. He knew I was comparing offers and he could have said Hey we typically get this appraisal but I see your questioning our loan offer would you like me to hold off? I truly feel he was trying to force me into a mortgage loan with cross country. I do not feel I should be responsible for the appraisal fee. I also will not recommend your company or Tony to anyone I know. The customer service was absolutely horrible. I feel this fee should be paid for by your company.

CrossCountry Mortgage Response • Mar 01, 2019

CrossCountry Mortgage, Inc. (“CrossCountry”) records indicate that the Customer applied for a mortgage loan on February 12, 2019 with Branch Manager Tony D. According to her loan application, Customer and Mr. D discussed a conventional purchase mortgage loan with an interest rate of 4.125%. The loan did include fees of 1 point (listed as a discount of $2660.00, provided by Customer), which, as explained, would be covered by seller credits Customer would receive. This application was then signed by Customer and returned to CrossCountry. Shortly thereafter, Customer received a loan estimate which reiterated the same rates and fees, along with an acknowledgement of intent to proceed, which was signed and returned to CrossCountry. When Customer had questions about other mortgage options that may be available to her, CrossCountry provided her with those details. At no point did Customer withdraw her application with CrossCountry or indicate that she was pursuing a loan elsewhere, therefore an appraisal was ordered and completed on the purchase property. Pursuant to the signed loan estimate, Customer knew, or should have known, that CrossCountry may order an appraisal, and that she may be charged for such an appraisal. As of the date of this response, Customer has still not withdrawn her mortgage loan application with CrossCountry.

False advertising. They send letters that say you are pre- qualified and then run your credit and say you are not qualified. They told me it was a marketing scheme.

My experience with CrossCountry was a living nightmare. My credit score was over 800 which is only achievable with being honest and being financially aware. We have bought and sold 14 houses in our 60 years of marriage so we are not amateurs in the real estate business. This was the most unprofessional experience ever. They locked in an interest rate for us that of course had a 30 day limit. By day 30 they were still were asking for more info and floundering around to finish the transaction. We were answering all questions immediately or within a couple of days as info became available. Still they required us to pay an additional fee for a new lock in rate. It took an additional 2 weeks to close.
We paid $850 for the inspection, which is exorbitant. The inspection was not done until a week before the original closing date and they required a lot of work be done. We supplied the name of a local contractor that had a good reputation in our area but they insisted on getting someone with an established following or contact following. They approved and we hired someone who was a smooth talking fraud from the start. His only recommendation was that he had done work thru ***. It took him about 2 mo. to finish the work he had promised would be done in the required 30 days. Under pressure from the CrossCountry agent we were working with, we offered to have the inspection and disclosed the exact status of our repair work. She said she called the inspector and described our situation and was told that would be acceptable. He charged an additional $175 to do the second inspection and then failed it for the same things we had told them about. It was finished about 10 days later and the final inspection was done for a final fee of another $175.
There were other actions that were questionable at best if not illegal. They insisted on knowing why we were buying a second home and why my husband and I don't live together. They do not honor what the underwriter accepts causing delays and confusion. The corporate office solution to every problem was something that cost more than what the underwriter accepted.
All in all it was a 3 month nightmare that was VERY expensive. I DO NOT recommend this company to anyone.

My wife and I fought to build our credit enough to buy a house. Then we finally get a house that my wife loved and we are fine for about a year. Then when it was time to renew our home owners insurance they did not do this. Per there contract they were to maintain the insurance we provided. Instead they said they did not receive a fax from the insurance company. So I called the insurance company myself and had them re-fax the information. Then Cross country Mortgage stated they did not receive the fax again. This happened 3 or for different times before they just let the insurance laps. Instead of calling the insurance company themselves they just let it laps then picked a new more expensive insurance for us. If they could call a new insurance company then they could have called the existing insurance company and straitened that out. Instead they just picked a new company and raised our mortgage payment from $857.00 a month to $1100.00 a month. So we could not afford this. So after we missed a few payment I made an agreement with someone to make half payment so that over time I would get caught up and we could get things straightened out in a year or so instead they would not take the payment. When I called to find out why they told me they did not know who I talk to but that that is not how they do things. Now I looked on their website and there is a spot where you can set up for half payment. They told me they would not accept anything less than 4 or 5 payments at one time there was no way this could happen. We were served and told we have to be out of the house in winter. Winter in northeast Ohio not anywhere south but northeast Ohio. Where someone in my home could freeze to death. Real caring bunch.

Customer Response • Jan 15, 2019

To simplify this they refuse to pay the insurance that they were contracted to pay. Them chose another way more expensive insurance and Jack our mortgage payment up to where we could not pay it. If they could call a new insurance company then t hey could have called the one we had set up. There action made it so we could not make make our payment. I tried to work with them and was willing to make bi-weekly payments. First I was told yes, then told they don't do that. I would like to see this forecloser taken from my credit report since it was their actions that lead to it in the first place.

RE: Revdex.com ID Number: ***
Borrower: ***
Dear Revdex.com.
This letter is in response to the Revdex.com complaint, ID Number ***, filed on January 14, 2019.
Our records reflect that the loan associated with the above borrower was referred to our local counsel to initiate foreclosure proceedings on November 21, 2017. Furthermore, the property associated with the above borrower was sold to the bank at a foreclosure sale that occurred on June 4. 2018.
Regarding the borrower's concerns about the hazard insurance on the loan, our records reflect that when the loan boarded with us. the mortgagee clause of the insurance policy did not list the correct address for our company. Because of this. we were unable to request renewals ourselves. The loan was escrowed for the borrower's hazard insurance from April 22. 2016 until April of 2017. However, once the insurance needed to be renewed, we were unable to complete the renewal because the mortgagee clause was incorrect.
We contacted the borrower's insurance carrier via telephone on April 12, 2017, April 17, 2017. and April 19. 2017 in an attempt to get the insurance policy's mortgagee clause corrected. but our attempts were not successful. Along with the telephone calls to the insurance carrier, we also mailed letters to the borrower's mailing address on April 25, 2017. May 26, 2017. and June 29. 2017, informing him of his need to provide us with the updated insurance information. These letters went unanswered, and we were forced to purchase hazard insurance on the property pursuant to paragraph 5 of the enclosed Mortgage.
In regards to the borrower's concerns about his attempts to make payments on the loan, it is unclear which specific payments he is referencing. Our records show that the loan was accelerated on September 11. 2017. and copies of the Notices of Acceleration that were mailed to the borrower are enclosed. If there were any payments received after September 11. 2017 that did not fully pay off or reinstate the loan, we would have returned the payments pursuant to the terms of the Notice of Acceleration. Enclosed for your reference is a loan account history from May 4, 2016 through December 31, 2017. If *** feels that there are payments he made that are not reflected on the payment history or a full reinstatement or payoff, please have him submit front and back copies of the endorsed checks to us so we may be able to research his concerns further.
Finally, we mailed multiple loss mitigation solicitation letters to ***'s address inviting him to apply for loss mitigation assistance. Enclosed is an example of one of these solicitation letters, which was mailed to *** on July 26, 2017. However, many more were sent to him, and we have no record of receiving any response to those letters or any loss mitigation applications for us to review.
We hope that this letter addresses the concerns raised by the borrower and shows that we tried to correct the situation and help the borrower on multiple occasions. However, if there are any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
If you need anything further, please contact our Customer Service Department at 877-538-8790. Sincerely.

You have been added to CrossCountry Mortgage's internal Do Not Call list.

I called Cross Country Mortgage to explain that someone used my identity to apply for a mortgage through Cross Country. I called several times to get help, no response until January 4, 2019 I finally got a hold of Ms. R. She advised me that she sent me an e-mail stating that I had authorized the credit report to be ran??? I didn't authorize anyone and why would I apply for a mortgage loan when I just started working in April 2017.
Ms. R also stated that all my personal information was on there!!! Anyone can steal your identity!! I asked her for a copy of my signatures and she never gave that information to me. I have the right to know what is going on with my personal information!!! I have always lived in B
My identity has been stolen!!! I need some assistance to dispute this matter and file a complaint against Cross Country!! This is ridiculous how I can't get help for something I didn't do!!!!
