Review: Two college kids showed up selling magazines to help pay for a trip, I ordered 3 magazines: Readers Digest, Maxim, and Sparkle World. This company needs to be stopped if it is doing everyone this way and never be able to start a business of any kind again.

Thank you.

Review: I was approached by a young man selling magazine subscriptions. He was polite and gave me some spiel about a trip and money if he was the first to get a certain amount of points for selling subscriptions. Due to some of my own experiences I have a bit of a soft spot for people trying to turn their lives around, so against my better judgment I went ahead and purchased a subscription that was supposed to be mailed to Mission Children's Hospital.

After the young man left, I started looking into the business and did not like what I saw. A lot of complaints on here that validated my concerns and some stories from other local news outlets that gave me more cause for concern regarding this business and its owners. That night I filled out the refund portion of my receipt, and the next day I mailed with a delivery confirmation. That confirmation shows delivery of my refund request to D&D Innovations on Nov. 15, 2012. Reading the other complaints, I expected the refund to take at least a few days, but it has new been over two weeks, and reading other comments it seems like the only way to get them to respond in a timely manner is to start complaining. I am all for helping kids turn their lives around, but not if it means engaging with shady dealings. I would like my refund please, and I would like it sooner than later.

Response:

When received for cancellation, the date on the invoice was listed as 11/7/2012 and the cancellation was postmarked 11/13/2012, which made the cancellation too late. When reviewed after complaint was made, it was determined that the date of 11/7 should actually have been 11/12 due to an error on the agent's part of dating the invoice wrong. I have called customer and informed him that his refund will be issued today 12/5/2012 with check 1117 for $50.00.

Review: I submitted my refund request per the stated guidelines on the receipt provided by pushy salesmen. Have been unable to receive refund. No one answers phone, when they do they say they can't find my refund request, they originally said they received it back in July, but it takes three weeks for refund. I called back in three weeks and they said they would mail the refund. Now they say they will look for it, never call me back; and when I try calling back, the phone is busy.

Business

Response:

The delay for the refund was due to the inability to locate the original copy of the invoice. Reasons for originals being pulled are usually from returned checks. Until we were able to determine that his checks cleared this was held. We still have not determined that they have cleared. We are refunded his full amount of $60 today 8/29/2012 with check number 1049 which will be mailed today.

Consumer

Response:

I was contacted by company today saying refund was being mailed. I do not see how it takes two months to see if check cleared when I was told refund would be mailed at beginning of August. I would think any accountant for their company could determine a check was cashed from my account and the funds cleared. It still does not explain the inability to call me back when stating they would on 4 occasions.

Business

Response:

Again the originals for his orders had been pulled from the processing orders and were not with the cancellation forms. This is done when checks have not cleared. Even though we still have not located the originals which is the process we do for cancellations we have refunded the customers money. There is no excuse for not returning the call and I apologize for that. The customer should have received his refund and if not it should be there today since it was mailed on the 29th.

Review: I ordered a magazine subscription in Jan 2013. It has now been almost 8 months, and I still haven't received a single issue.Desired Settlement: A refund of the $40 paid for a magazine that was never delivered.

Review: First and foremost I blame myself for falling for such a sketchy company, however, they got me with the Humpty Dumpty magazines for children in Shriner's hospital. The more I thought about it the less it made sense that the salesman was working for a big vacation trip by selling magazines in Walmart?? So I googled the company and immediately decided I had been scammed. I typed a letter and sent it off within the 3 business days as stated on the paperwork. Called (2) days later and was advised they received it and that it had been received in time for a refund. Now I call every week to check as to when it will be sent and every week it is a different story. All I want is my $40.00 back. Thank you!

Review: I ordered a magazine from two people that came to my door. I decided to cancel my order so I sent the form in on the same day. I haven't gotten my money back yet so I tried calling the company, but I keep getting the answering machine.

Response:

We have received the cancellation for her order and it is being processed. The refund will be released for payment on 7/23. This is due to payments received from checks are refunded after the funds have been assured that they have been collected and no stop payments have been issued for their check/payment. Our Office Assistant, called customer and informed her that her refund will be released for payment the 23rd, and she should receive it shortly thereafter.

Response:

They called and told me that the refund will be sent out for payment onf July 23rd, but the money hasn't come yet.

In response to Complaint 16010512. I spoke with the customer on 10/16/2012 and verified that she had our check returned to her charging her an additional $12.00. I informed the customer that I would be mailing a Money Order for $52.00 with the refunds this week. It should be postmarked today (10/17) or tomorrow at the latest.

Review: I ordered a one year subscription of deer and deer hunting magazine and paid $40 but did not receive. I have spoke to David the owner and was told on three occasions he was going to refund me for the magazine subscription by mail and have been dealing with this for 3 months.Desired Settlement: I would just like to be refunded for the amount paid for the subscription or get my one year of magazines.

Review: I realized after writing my check that this was probably a scam and after checking out this company I am now sure of it. I would like my money refunded because I followed the directions on my receipt about getting a refund and have not received one.

Review: I signed up to receive magazines from two of their sales associates July 18, 2012 but realized I could get these magazines cheaper directly. I immediately sent a certified letter with both of my sales slips to D &D Innovations within the 3-day refund period and ask for my orders to be canceled and checks returned to me. I gave them a week from the date my letter was sent and haven’t heard/seen any response back. I gave them a little more time and decided to call around July 29, 2012 and spoke with someone who told me that they received my letter and that the refund will go out soon. It’s been another week and I still haven’t received anything. I called a second time on August 6th and was told that my refund will go out on Wednesday (August 8) and I should receive my money shortly after. I said okay, another week later, guess what? NO REFUND was issued. I called A-GAIN, for the 3rd time, around August 15; I asked what is taking so long?! Whoever answered the phone could not give me an answer, but said that her manager was cutting/writing the check now and it will go out today. Once again, I said okay. It is now August 20th and I have not received anything! I called today and was sent to voicemail. It has officially been a month and I have yet to receive my refund! I am pretty angry now. I am fed up with the temporary lies that they tell, when it comes to the status of your refund. This is not the way you handle business. I just want my money back!

Response:

The delay with this refund was an oversight and will be issued today 8/29/2012 with check 1048 and will be mailed today.

The customer notified the Revdex.com that they had received their refund as of 10/8/2012.

Review: On June 18, 2012 a sales agent named xxxx xxxxx from D & D Innovations called at my home selling magazines. After listening to his speech, I purchased a magazine for Mission Hospital's Children's unit. Afterwards I did a bit of research online and discovered that this company was not reputable, that numerous complaints had been filed against it. Per the notice of cancellation on the receipt, I mailed a signed and dated copy of the cancellation notice on June 19, 2012, well within the three business days from the date of order. According to the notice of cancellation, I should have received a refund within 120 days, but it is well past the 120 days and I have neither received the refund nor heard anything from the company.

Review: Husband recently out of hospital and wanted to help two college girls selling magazines - for them to earn money. He purchased a magazine subscription (Taste of Home) $40 plus $10 handling fee. Information says we should receive delivery within 120 days. Agreement signed 1/31/13. It has been 5 months and we have not received magazine yet. I have called phone number on receipt numerous times. One time I got answering machine and left message. Next two times I called there was no answering machine - no one picked up.

Review: 1/14/13: called and spoke to Jessica. She told me the check would go out next week.

1/31/13: no answer

2/1/13-2/4/13: no answer

2/5/13: got answering machine, but memory full

2/6/13: "pulled to top" again. Deb does refunds, should go out Monday

2/25/13: spoke to Jessica: she once again told me my request would be moved to the top. I informed her that if I did not receive the check by 3/1/13, I would be reporting them to Revdex.com, St. of NC and FTC.

Review: I've been told about 4 different times the past month that my refund will be given back the "next week." It never came. Sometimes they won't answer my calls. I find it ridiculous I haven't received my money back considering I sent in my refund the day after the kid signed me up which was probably in September. The girls I've talked to that work the phones are nice, but they don't seem like they're in a hurry to get things done obviously, and it seems like I've been lied to each time I've called.

Review: I paid $50 cash for a subscription to Smithsonian Magazine from Drue Lewis who claimed to be a representative of D&D Innovations. Mr. Lewis stated it would be a couple of months for the order to be processed. The order was placed with Mr. Lewis on 04/28/2012. It is now 09/07/2012, and I have not received a single issue of the magazine.

Response:

This is response to Complaint 16010752. I have called the customer to find out if her magazine ever started because after research it shows as ordered and processed on our end. I had to leave a message both times and have not had any return calls. I will continue to try and reach customer; and if by Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, I will refund the customer her money for the magazine.

Response:

The company offered a refund or 2 yr. subscription. I accepted the 2 yr. subscription.

I don't know why I haven't started receiving the magazine. I just want the magazine. I'm satisfied with the offer, but not the service at this point.

Review: Mailed a signed and dated notice of cancellation on 12/17/12. In compliance with the terms and conditions. Have not received a refund to date. Have contacted the company at 828-684-9827 several times and always get voicemail, have left messages and no one has returned my calls.

Placed order in December 2012. Have not received books of yet. Date now is 4-16-13. Books were paid for at time order was placed for one year. They will not answer the phone.
