I bought a 1996 diesel suburban that they billed as " the best in the country" When it arrived it wouldn't start as the glow plugs didn't work. Had to replace the relay 500.00 which was melted. The windshield leaked due to rust and many oil and coolant leaks. Thousands of dollars of other repairs needed as well. SHOP SOME PLACE ELSE!

Davis AutoSports took care of items

[redacted] has not sent parts to repair the seat or the floor and cargo mats, or the funds promised for alignment, new battery, and other repairs The only driving I have done has been to a Jeep dealer for service (I sent the invoice through U S Mail) and to a Jeep off road specialistThe Jeep specialist said the front steering parts were not properly installed and the front axle was over an inch off center [redacted] disagreed with the repair of the front passenger door lock, saying that the parts were good, just not connectedThe local [redacted] dealer tested the part and said it was defectiveThat cost me $Also, [redacted] said the tune up was not necessary, though the vehicle would not idleAgain, the Jeep dealer diagnosed the problem and did a tuwhich cost $From hundreds of miles away, [redacted] said he knew it did not need this service The battery was dead on arrival and would not hold a chargeWhen tested, it was below acceptable standardsThe new battery cost $95.39, which [redacted] agreed to reimpurse The last contact from [redacted] stated that he was "seconds away from never responding again." Revdex.com: I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below [Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.] Regards, [redacted] Continuing my problems with [redacted] (Davis Autosports) of Richmond, VA He did finally arrange shipping of the [redacted] The battery was dead on arrival and had to be jumped to unload itI noted the following problems: The steering wheel is degrees right out of lineDriving straight, the steering wheel is sideways The right front power door lock did not work The front power windows chattered The driver's power seat does not function The engine would not idle and stalled when cold The left front tire rubs the control arm on tight turns The [redacted] floor mats for front seats and cargo area were missing I contacted Mr [redacted] via email, and he agreed to send the [redacted] front floor mats and rear cargo mat immediatelyHe also said if the battery was bad, he would send a replacement immediately The battery terminals were scraped up on delivery, indicating that it had been jump started a lot before it was shipped.I replied that I would appreciate his sending the floor and cargo mats, but if he would just reimburse me his cost for a new battery he would avoid the shipping costs for something so heavy.I took the vehicle to [redacted] ***They diagnosed a defective door lock actuatorI contacted [redacted] ***, and he replied that there was nothing wrong and the garage was just ripping me offThey installed a new lock actuator, and the lock works now. They inspected and lubricated the front power window assembliesThey got them to work but recommended waiting for complete failure because of the expense of replacing the mechanisms. The spark plugs were bad and were replacedThis coupled with a throttle body cleaning cured the stalling problem. They were unable to put the vehicle on their alignment machine to correct the steering wheel issue. They estimated the repair of the driver's seat power base unit to be $1,I told them not to fix this [redacted] said he has this part in stock, but he will not even quote me a price for the part. The total cost of needed repairs at the Jeep garage was $474.15.They also noticed a leaking rear axle gasket [redacted] *** claimed the entire drive train was serviced, all fluids replaced, and everything 100% correct prior to sale. They checked the battery and found it delivered less than CCA under loadOn the way home, I bought a new battery, for $95.39.I still have to find a [redacted] front end expert to fix the steering wheel issueI had a mechanic look at it, and he believes the upgraded steering parts were improperly installed Also, I am looking for an aftermarket/used base for the driver's power seatThere will be several hundred dollars required for those repairs.Prior to sale, [redacted] assured me that he would drive the vehicle personally a few days to make sure everything was in perfect operating conditionNo one who drove this vehicle a block would miss the misaligned steering wheel or the dead battery.I have attempted to contact [redacted] several timesOnce, he asked for the phone number of the [redacted] garage so he could explain to them why they were wrong as he "knows Jeeps inside and out." I sent the number, but they said he never contacted themSince then, he does not reply to me at all,I mailed him photocopies of the garage service orders and receipt for the battery.I expect to make some repairs with a used vehicle, but I did not expect the range and quantity of problems All I have asked of Davis Autosports is to send the [redacted] front and cargo floor mats as included in the sale and to honor his promise to replace the battery. If he were standing behind his vehicle, he would help with some of the cost of the repairsI see that he now has other vehicles for sale on ebayI would caution any buyer to have an independent mechanic complete a thorough inspection and road test of anything [redacted] offers for sale.I expected to make some minor cosmetic repairs with a used vehicle, but I did not expect the range and quantity of problems All I have asked of Davis Autosports is to send the [redacted] front and cargo floor mats as included in the sale and as promised after delivery of the vehicle and to honor his promise to replace the battery. He does not respond.Thank you,Sincerely, [redacted] ***PS I can document all repair work and the battery replacement.MsSmith:The sales ad was posted on the Davis Autosports website and detailed information was exchanged through a series of emailsIn one, he said he would drive the vehicle as his personal car for several days to make sure everything was absolutely perfectHe could not have driven it feet without noticcing the misaligned steering, and he could not have tried to start it without having to jump start the dead battery.Later in this message is a response from [redacted] to my sending him the local garage bill. The local garage found the passenger door lock actuator to be nonfunctionalI am not sure how [redacted] can say the part was not defective from hundreds of miles away without seeing or testing it.Likewise, I do not know how he is sure the spark plugs and tuwere not needed I know the things the local garage fixed are working nowI have not been able to find a local garage that can repair the misaligned steering wheelOne mechanic told me that it was misaligned because the Davis aftermarket steering parts were improperly installed. In his response, he offers $battery reimbursement, finally shipping the [redacted] front and cargo mats, a replacement motor for the power seat and $labor, and $for a front end alignment. His offer totals $plus the floor and cargo mats and power seat motor. The local garage bill was $474.15, not counting the $for the batteryI still need to find an alignment shop capable of working with the aftermarket parts [redacted] installed, and a mechanic who can repair the power seat baseI will have close to $1,in repairs to get this vehicle to the condition it was described as[redacted] has promised the [redacted] mats and battery several times before without sending themI don't have great faith in his word or in the workmanship of his company[redacted] sent the following information: I will send funds to cover new battery and will get out mats this weeks as wellThe door lock wasnt bad on the truck, it was the connector on the back from the door panel getting taken offThat is why I told you to contact me PRIOR to taking it in or having a shop do the workThe truck also wont idle correct if the battery is bad, if the spark plugs were bad, you would have a check engine light for misfireOnce again, something the shop charged you for that wasn't neededI will also provide a motor for the front seat and $for labor which should cover the hour labor to do itSo here is a recap 1.Refund for Battery [redacted] front mats Motor for Power Seat and $for install $for alignement If you agree to the above and agree once received the items that you will contact the Revdex.com and close all cases as satisfied, I will get them out this Monday I don't know what can be done, but if he even honors this statement, I will be surprisedI should have never trusted him, but he is a great salesman, if unethical.William Boggs

The following experience will show that Davis Auto Sports, and it's owner, Jonathon D***, cannot be trusted when purchasing a vehicleI have all correspondence documented, including all emails, videos, and text messages with Jonathon D*** and Davis Auto Sports to collaborate that what I am saying is 100% trueI am usually not one to complain, but my experience with Davis Auto Sports was so bad, I had to make sure everyone else knows about my experience,
I purchased a *** *** from Jonathon D*** at Davis Auto Sports and paid him $49,on November 21, According to my invoice, it was supposed to include new Davis Auto Sports installed Ricaro seats, front and rear sway bars, and an installed roll cageI did not receive the car for over two monthsIt finally was delivered on February 2, This was because there were many delays with the installation of the promised seats, sway bars, roll cage as promised When I finally received the car it sputtered badly on my first test drive off the delivery truckI have video and text records to prove the issues with the carSpeaking with Jonathon D*** the next day, he said the car ran perfect when it left his shop, and blamed the car misfires on mass air flow, my driving, gas octaneHe denied there were any problems with the carHe also did not include the promised roll cage in the car that I had paid $as shown on my receiptHe would not give me a credit for the cageTrying to hope for the best I spent another $to have new coils and plugs installed in the carThis still did not remedy the serious miss fire problemI have original records to prove the description provided on eBay by Jonathon D***, by way of text and by way of his video presentation of the *** *** in which Jonathon D*** describes the car, "pristine in every aspect for the year and mileageThe previous owner took AMAZING care of this vehicle both cosmetically and more importantly mechanically. This car looks and drive great." There is lot more that I can include regarding his misleading description of the vehicleIf anyone would like to see any more of the details regarding the claims and descriptions made by D***, I will gladly provide themAfter continuing to be told by Jonathon D*** that the car was in perfect condition when it left his shop, I decided to send the car the best ***  engine specialist in the US After receiving the car, he was able to diagnose the exact problem with the carWhat was found was the sway bars had been installed incorrectly and the attachment bolts had not been checked for clearance by David Auto Sports mechanicsPrior to me receiving the car, the bolts had compressed and moved to during cornering which resulted in the bolt heads severing holes in both side of the Turbo intake pipesThis resulted in metal shavings being ingested into the engine and the cylinders were scoured as a resultThis resulted in the car seriously miss firingI have pictures to show these holes and other problems with the cars motorSince this time I have am having the *** engine completely overhauled to new condition by one of the best *** engine builders in America who's reputation is highly regardedAfter examining all elements of the engine after tear down, it was evident this engine had been tampered with before and driven very hard as several of the connecting rods were seriously bent, and many other aspects of the engine showed heavy wearI have pictures to prove itIn the end Davis denied these problems existed and he tried to blame the holes in the turbo intake pipes on the transport company, saying the cinched the car down to far and that resulted in the holes in the intake pipes Unfortunately, my engine builder who diagnosed the problem had already tried to see if this was possible, and the car could not be strapped that tight to cause the damageThis was all a lieIn further investigation, I was able to track down the previous owner of the ***, he was a dealer in New Jersey who sold the *** at auction to DavisHe told me that the car had serious issues mechanicallyThat is why the his customer traded the car to him for another vehicleBecause the car needed lots of money invested, he auctioned it, and Davis Auto Sports purchased it and sold it to me as being in pristine conditionNot only that, after speaking to Jonathon D*** about the cars condition and asking him to make fair reparations, he refused to do anything, and he still refused to refund the $dollars that I paid him for roll cage that I never receivedI have done business with lots of people in my life and this is one of most unethical and dishonest people I have ever dealt with I am writing this so that everyone who is considering buying a vehicle from Davis Auto Sports is warned Before you purchase a car, or make a deposit on a car from Jonathon D*** at Davis Auto Sports, you better have it closely examined and tested by a high performance mechanic or dealer D*** is buying most of his cars at auction at suppressed prices, then cleaning them up and hyping them, in hopes that he will find a trusting buyerThis *** purchase was a car I waited a long time to purchase and I hoped to keep and pass down to my sonJonathon D*** knew this from the beginning and did not careAnyway, I am having the cars engine completely rebuilt and it will be like new, and I will have an amazing car, but the major cost was unexpected I would stay clear of Davis Auto SportsYou cannot believe anything they say about their vehiclesThere are many other dealer out there

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.[Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.]Regards,*** *** It is indeed unfortunate that Mr*** continues down his path of deception and fraud. Mr*** knows, full well, that he used black spray paint to paint the outside of the frame of the vehicle to fraudulently misrepresent the true condition of the vehicle. His amateur use of the black spray paint on the outside of the frame even crossed over onto one of the rear shock absorbers of the vehicle. Mr*** calls into reference his wonderful *** ad of the vehicle and the voluminous pictures that were in the ad, unfortunately he did not include any pictures of the undercarriage of the vehicle which would have shown the deplorable and unsafe condition the vehicle was in. The level of fraud and deceit shown by Mr*** is, in fact, criminal and is being prosecuted as such. Mr***' reply offers no resolution to this issue but instead continues his methodical betrayal of common decency, honesty and integrity

When I purchased the vehicle, I said I would need it to be transported*** *** said that was included in the sales priceI was never made aware that he considered his responsibility limited to building the vehicleI told him from the beginning that I was unable to travel to pick it up. He emailed me last week, saying that he would make phone calls June 2, to expedite the shipping processThe company he mentions as a shipper is an online bulletin board that may or may not receive a response. He still has the vehicle and payment in full

I was the high bidder on a 2006 Jeep Rubicon that did not hit the reserve. After exchanging a few emails with the seller, Davis AutoSports, we agreed on a purchase price. However, before proceeding I did have several questions for the seller pertaining to the condition of the vehicle, especially the appearance of rust on the undercarriage. Of particular concern to me was pictures of the frame rails, which appeared to be in perfect condition, but I noticed significant rust on other undercarriage components. Prior to proceeding with a purchase I specifically asked whether or not the frame rails had been redone in some fashion (via an email thru eBay) and was told that the vehicle was 100% pristine with just typical rust on the exhaust system and drivetrain parts. I contacted the seller by phone on a Friday afternoon and was again assured they had not reconditioned the frame rails and overall this was a pristine vehicle. With the vehicle being 1,700+ miles away from my location, I had to take the word of the seller per the condition of the vehicle. Having been reassured by the rust was minimal and typical of a vehicle 12 years old I gave the seller a $500 deposit per my credit card. The next morning, Saturday, the seller emailed me a "Buyers Order" for me to review and sign. After some corrections, such as "my name" and the legal description of the vehicle, I emailed a copy back to the vendor on late Saturday afternoon but did not hear back from the seller on Saturday. On Saturday evening and Sunday morning I again revisited the 150 pictures of the vehicle and the videos and then became much more concerned about the rust issues on the under carriage; and also began to notice several other things about the condition of the vehicle per the pictures that caused me concern. Upon pulling up the pictures of other vehicles the seller had for sale it was pretty evident what was taking place with the frame rails. The seller was painting all of the rails and then putting the same language in all of the vehicle descriptions; "Undercarriage is in Exceptional Condition and the Smooth Frame is has Absolutely ZERO Rust issues." On Sunday I contacted the seller via email that I was cancelling the purchase, and it was disheartening to me that he mis-represented the vehicles condition to me per the rust and the pained frame rails. At this point I had no faith is the sellers integrity and I chose to end this transaction before a $17,000 (with shipping etc) Jeep was delivered to my doorstep that I most likely would not have been happy with. The next day, Monday, we requested a return of my $500 deposit, because if the seller had been honest with me about them reconditioning the frame rails and various other issues I had brought to his attention I would never made a deposit on the vehicle to begin with. The seller also relisted the Jeep on eBay again on Monday, for the "4th" time, so essentially this all occurred between late Friday afternoon and Sunday afternoon, which was about 48 hours. The seller refuses to refund my $500, as he claims to have occurred $500 in actual cost due to relisting the Jeep.

Attempted to purchase [redacted] from Davis Auto Sales. Was given bottom line price. Was able to get necessary funding to meet their bottom line. [redacted] is still for sale on Website but was told I have to pay an additional $1000.00. Have communications to show bottom line price but he mentioned he was adding new tires which 4 previous listing state and show new tires and I would be fine with ones in listing. He tried another excuse stating recent [redacted] values in last 10 days. Mentioned it was unprofessional as I sold my truck to meet his price. We went back and forth with each of his excuses which showed a lack of character. Any one interested in communications with this group are welcome to it as I'm 58 year old 33 year public servant and heard just about every explanation, just was attempting to purchase for my college graduate son. Should have been a good experience but instead turned into a classless act. My promise is to reach every media possible for this to reviewed. If I can stop one sale it would be worth it as it was a slap in the face from 200 miles away.

I called the business and he said that he was never going to be responsible with the transportation, they were hired to build the vehicle. The vehicle is built and it has been posted on [redacted] to be transported. this business is not responsible for the time it takes [redacted], that...

is a different company. He cannot forced that business to speed up that process, since it has been posted with the transportation route, it is then up to a transporter to pick the job and move the vehicle, there is no time frame on this part. The customer can fly into the business to get the vehicle or can hire his own company to move the vehicle. The customer was provided with a screen shot of the post and at that time the customer said he felt better at that but then complaint after it was still taking too long.

ID [redacted].
Regards,
[redacted]

[redacted] has not sent parts to repair the seat or the floor and cargo mats, or the funds promised for alignment, new battery, and other repairs.
The only driving I have done has been to a Jeep dealer for service (I sent the invoice through U S Mail) and to a Jeep off road specialist. The Jeep specialist said the front steering parts were not properly installed and the front axle was over an inch off center.
[redacted] disagreed with the repair of the front passenger door lock, saying that the parts were good, just not connected. The local [redacted] dealer tested the part and said it was defective. That cost me $187.61. Also, [redacted] said the tune up was not necessary, though the vehicle would not idle. Again, the Jeep dealer diagnosed the problem and did a tune-up which cost $257.95. From hundreds of miles away, [redacted] said he  knew it did not need this service.
The battery was dead on arrival and would not hold a charge. When tested, it was below acceptable standards. The new battery cost $95.39, which [redacted] agreed to reimpurse.
The last contact from [redacted] stated that he was "seconds away from never responding again."
He becomes very hostile when contacted. He is angry because I filed a complaint when he did not arrange timely shipping.
If the vehicle were advertised as a "mechanic's special" I would have no complaint. But in his emails and on the website the vehicle was listed as "gorgeous" and in perfect condition with all Jeep options.  I am not a mechanic, and I do not have the financial ability to constantly repair a defective vehicle.
In answer to your question, [redacted] has NOT sent parts or financial compensation.
