Scam artists. Unethical business. I never write reviews but they should be AVOIDED! When they come to your home they will put their stickers on every appliance you own, then when it breaks, you call them and not the original installer. They then charge you twice the going rate for new equipment. Details:

Some time ago my wife had a gas line run to a new gas dryer while I was out of town. She called Dean's out of the blue. Expensive plus they told us our dryer vent needed replacing (it didn't), she was quoted $250 extra. She called me and I said no after being charged $700 for the line. Work quality was not the issue.

A few years later on a weekend our 7 year old gas water heater boiled over from a bad thermostat. I called the number on the sticker on the water heater. It was Dean's. I asked if they had a record of our heater and they said no. I thought that was odd but went ahead and scheduled them to come out. They quoted a service fee but were unwilling to give out any prices for repair/replace. I had a good experience with the previous installer, assuming it was Dean's, and had them come out.

The tech, [redacted] reminded me of [redacted] slimy character in Sideways, said it would be $900 to replace the thermostat (or whatever was needed) and that he couldn't guarantee they had the part and might not be able to do it until Monday. However, he conveniently opened a slick catalog showing a new identical heater that he could have installed in 4-5 hours. $2800 was the quote. Confused, and assuming it was the same contractor as before, I said "gee, seems expensive, is that a competitive price?" He said it might be a little high and could knock $150 off. I didn't remember paying that much 7 years ago but felt stuck, had a full house with guests in town and no hot water. The install went fine, again quality not the issue.

Out of curiosity a few days later I called several contractors for bids on an identical or equivalent heater and got quotes for $1150 to $1800, some of them would have done it on a weekend. I called Dean's and pointed out that I likely overpaid $1000 or more for their work. By then I had also figured out that they were not the original installer. After several phone calls and finally threats of calls to the Revdex.com and negative reviews I got them to refund $600. I never got around to doing the reviews until now, a few years later when our furnace broke and there, covering the original installer's sticker, was a Dean's sticker .......... and thus this review.

Antoine was very professional and was able to assess the issue within minutes. He also was able to give professional advice and is having a team fix the issue the next day.

Had a wonderful experience with Dean's Plumbing. They were fast, friendly and efficient. The technician was knowledgeable and friendly.

Dean's Plumbing has completed a number of jobs for us including water heater, water softener, adding a gas shut-off valve for our clothes dryer, and replacing numerous gate valves with lever style valves throughout the house. All work was completed to our satisfaction and the technicians were great to work with.

Tyler S. was great at explaining the options to replace my 22 yr. old water heater. He was courteous and clean when installing it and gave me other tips and ideas for future plumbing issues that may arise.

I am rejecting this response because: It is not the part itself that I'm claiming fraud, it's the part cost plus labor charge that I am claiming fraud charges, the part itself a 35/5 capacitor cost only $45.00 for the most expensive a Lennox brand same as my air conditioner unit, the average cost is $25.00, The labor in Mn. is $125.00 per hr, according to Minnesota's own Excel energy company, plus standard heating and air conditioning another company with high standards in Minnesota. How can they come up with a total charge of $477.12, The technician were not at my house for an hour, so I am willing to give him an hour plus highest part cost, with my math that come to a total of $170.00 that's a $300.00 difference that's where the fraud comes.Stanley [redacted]>Maple Grove Mn. 55311[redacted]@yahoo.com

I called Dean's at 6am to have someone come out to fix a toilet which had spontaneously started leaking through the upstairs floor and into the lower level the night before. Nate arrived promptly at 8:30 and got right to work. He fixed the problem and also inspected the area to be sure nothing else was wrong or damaged. He was polite, friendly, knowledgeable, and respectful of my home. It was an expensive fix but I have peace of mind that it was done well and that he checked to be sure nothing more was wrong or damaged. I'd recommend them.

I was very pleased with the very thorough and professional plumbing inspection done by Tina.

Tim was very professional, helpful, nice and explained the work he was doing very well. He took time after he was finished to show us what he did and explain how it all worked. I would definitely recommend him to a friend.

[redacted] was awesome and very patient waiting for us to make a decision on our broken furnance. He was quick to arrive since it was after hours. He was able to fix it no problem and we had heat again. Would recommend for sure.

Nate M was great! He was patient in explaining the problem and went out of his way to make sure the job was completed correctly! He removed the old septic pump and installed new one. He was very kind. I'd request Nate again!

Professional and courteous customer service. Able to come when I requested. Tina fixed my plumbing issue quickly and with good workmanship. She was very good at explaining what was wrong and how things worked. I would call them again!

I thougot your company did a good job until I saw the billboards you plastered all over my appliances without asking. Tried to get them off but can't. Took a 10/10 to a 6 maybe...

Dean's plumbing replaced a garbage disposal for a ridiculous price of $750. The only reason I agreed was I needed to use the kitchen that weekend. Three months later, the new garbage disposal broke.

This company is not trust worthy; take your business elsewhere.

I would recommend Dean's. They have a great membership program. They had a technician out within hours of my call of my furnace not working (not good in MN!). The technician, [redacted] was informative and knowledable. I had to replace my furnace and Glenn was very aware of my household situation. He offered space heaters to keep us warm until the new furnace was in, which couldn't be until the next Day. Because of his concern for my child with Down syndrome touching the heaters, he called in and was able to get my new furnace in that day.
I would highly recommend Dean's, not only for the work they did, but in [redacted] awareness and the company's ability to work around it our needs. Great job!

Horrible customer service. We have a scheduled time that the company called and pushed back 2 times then ended up cancelling on us. We rescheduled for the next day and the same thing happened again. Speaking with their dispatch for their technicians they offered to have someone come out on an emergency repair which when I asked why I would pay more because the company cancelled on us they didn't have an answer. Also why is there someone now availbe for an emergency appointment but nobody to handle a scheduled appointment? Again no answer. I was also told there was no supervisor I was able to speak with, then in her next sentence she said her supervisor just authorized her to offer me $50 off service. So not even being able to rate their service because they were not able to fufill their appointment this review is based off of their customer service alone.

Very good service, Answer questions and explained what was being done and why. Courteous and helpful. Jeff was my technician.

Based off of the overall situation, the employee did not feel comfortable with the interaction and left your home. You were not charged for this visit. My original complaint stands. This complaint specifically details the unprofessional conduct, bait and switch tactics employed by Dean's Plumbing.
The service tech left my home without any warning, and without saying goodbye or trying to rectify the situation.
It speaks volumes that Dean's management did return my call as requested immediately after the technician abandoned the job site. There was no acceptance of responsibility for a poorly done job, my fence being damaged by their tech, or the reprehensible and unprofessional conduct of the service tech.
Regarding Dean's self-serving offer of a gift coupon (and my presumption is the coupon is for Dean's services), their offer only highlights their deceptive business practices and delusional response.
No sane person would allow this contractor into their home after such a horrendous experience.
But, again, focus on the fact that Dean's management failed to return my requested call, thereby proving their claims of great customer service is merely a guise. Their refusal to return my call, which could have placated me and resolved the problem, is further indication that "high volume, low quality" represents their corporate mission.
And, MN Revdex.com, with all of the dissatisfied Dean's customers and high frequency of complaints, it seems un fathomable that your group rewards them with an A+ rating. Membership money solves many ills, does it not?

We appreciate your response. We do pride ourselves with customer service and number one goal is to take care of our customers. As any company may receive complaints, we work to resolve them timely and reasonably. From the initial call for your drain and before the tech was dispatched, 3 different people in our staff worked very hard to work with your aggressive nature. When the tech arrived he immediately became uncomfortable with this aggression and insulted by your words. He felt great disrespect with the way you spoke about his wife, talked down to him, and your overall aggression towards him. He provided you solutions you did not like as they were solutions that were the right way to do the work. He was so uncomfortable with the interactions, he left and did not charge. Our offer still stands.
