I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 12232745, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

I am rejecting this response because:
When I rented the vehicle from DeAnza rental, they told me I had to pay a deposit of $150 and that it would be returned to me, in full, 7-10 business days after I returned the car. I returned the car on February 18th before 10am, and waited and did not see my deposit refunded to my credit card. I filed a complaint with my credit card company on or around February 27th since I had seen no activity from DeAnza on my statement, and based on almost every review for their business on Yelp, I assumed I wouldn't be getting my deposit back otherwise. Numerous other customers recounted how they had to repeatedly fight with DeAnza and file complaints with their credit card companies to have their deposits returned to them. After trying to reach DeAnza by phone a few times to no avail, I took it up with my credit card company because I now considered my deposit stolen. My credit card company (Capital One) agreed and almost immediately refunded me the money after I provided them the facts.In regards to the charge for the additional day - the $46.42 - that is not the amount I was told over the phone when I called on the evening of February 17th. I booked my car rental through a third party website for a rate of $18/day. When I called DeAnza on that evening, I asked if the rate for an additional day would just be another $18, since that is what I had paid per day. The girl I spoke with said, yes, I would only have to pay another $18. However, upon returning the car the next morning, the salesman told me she was wrong and I'd have to pay $42.99 for the extra day, despite being told otherwise. I strongly feel as if I had been lied to to con me out of more money. There's no feasible reason that a saleswoman at a rental service wouldn't know the fee for an extra day. Regardless, they should have honored the price they quoted me over the phone, even if it was the woman's mistake. Her not knowing the rates is frankly not my problem.Thank you,[redacted].

I am rejecting this response because:
The items were in the vehicle and the manager at the Riverside location even offered to replace them. He also said I would be emailed a statement for the alleged balance owed which also was never received. I called several times to both the Ontario and Riverside office and was hung up on Everytime when requesting to speak to the district manager.

reviewed appear below. For clarity sake I want it known that DeAnza Car Rental DID NOT return my $150. I filed a grievance with the credit card company and got my money returned to me that way. I should not have had to take this drastic measure to achieve this! I'll consider the matter closed if DeAnza does not contest this matter with my credit card company which still has the matter under review!

I am writing to you in response to the letter we received regarding customer [redacted].  Mr. [redacted] rented the vehicle on 02/14/2017 and was returning on 02/16/2017, he did not return the rental until 02/17/2017.  Therefore Mr. [redacted] was charged an extra day.  The charge for...

the extra day is  $42.99 plus sales tax which totaled $46.42.  That charge was deducted from his deposit of $150.00, which left his deposit credit to the amount of $103.58.     Mr. [redacted] is disputing the $150.00 with the credit card company but he is only entitled $103.58 of that amount.   Please feel free to email me back if you need additional information.

We could not refund the $150 to her credit card because it had expired at the end of the month.  We did mail a check to the address on the contract for the $150.00 and informed the customer directly.
