Diamond Resorts International Reviews (60)

On SeptI attended an owner update at a Diamond property in Branson Missouri and was informed that Diamond had implemented a new way to help it's owners to get rid of their maintenance fees If I would only spend another $19,to buy into this new program that in years I would no longer have to pay any maintenance fees, and also if I booked a stay somewhere and there was still availability at that resort within a day window I could cancel the first reservation and rebook it at 1/the points and Diamond would send me a check for the difference, as long as I had purchased the insurance on the points
Well, I found that to be a bald face lie, but didn't learn that until it was too late to cancel the contractI have hired an attorney and am seeking legal avenues now
Hope this review will help someone that is thinking of getting into this timeshare company to rethink They are nothing but a bunch of scam artist

I am writing because I purchase a timeshare in June and was told my maintenance fee would not start to the year and then month later they were charge us for maintenance I call and try to speak to a manager and I was told the manager would call be back that never happen.I was always get the run around told I should have read my contract but the sale rep assured me they would start in So I pay them in November in received another bill in January for more maintenance fee for another dollars.Whatever you do never buy a timeshare from this company there a bunch of scam artist and will say what every to get you to buy from them.Worst mistake of my life!!!

We booked a vacation back in April through Groupon, the place was nice BUT we ended up going to a mandatory presentation that we were told would be only an hourThree hours later they kept trying to get us to buyWe did purchase a Sampler package and were promised a free cruise, which is the only reason we bought it! Many calls, emails and text messages later and no tickets just a complete run aroundMr *** the Sampler manager stopped responding to my messages and the main company in Vegas said they could not help us, regional promoThe only thing they could do is upgrade our Sampler if we would like to give them more money! Finally we just gave upWell, we decided to use the points we purchased to take my husband's mom and her boyfriend on a little tripUnfortunately she is not able to go because of recent surgery and a pending further surgeryI just called to cancel for Octand they charged me a $feeSo if you book on Groupon make sure it is not a Diamond Resorts Hotel

We joined DRI in May and we are so disappointed with DRI
We paid good money to join the HI collection and have very limited availability through DRI - but I could easily pay out of pocket to reserve with a 3rd party This is not right and I believe DRI is a scam
I'm so tired of hearing 'how can we say yes' and all I get are big fat NO's
Then there are all the rules - I can roll over my points, but only some of them I can't use this years points for a trip scheduled for next year, unless I book through interval - but they have no available inventorySo I'm right back where I startedProbably going to lose points that didn't get used Flush that money down the toilet
Two bedroom units in Maui are not beach front and some of them overlook a parking lot Really? For >11K points? That's a major rip off
Silver sampler, units in locations advertised not available or once again, overlooking a parking lot Yeah, that's what I want when I go on vacation
All in all, I get this headache and stress for the low, low price of 25K and 1.7K yearly dues
Happy? Satisfied? Not at all! I would have been better off renting units on VRBO
DRI does not offer a buy back program I assume this is because you know you're running a scam and would be out of business in a very short time I feel like a hostage, honestly
On the positive side- the properties are nice and the customer service at the properties themselves has been very good, units are large and very nicely decorated

Diamond Resorts sales department present a very misleading productsI won't be surprised if they will have another class action

I owned a time share in *** *** in Kississime FL which was bought out by DRI My friend and I took a trip to *** *** *** what a mistake that was, Happy hour then Sell, Sell, Sell I don't want any more timeshares, but can't fond a way out of it, I'm close to death, but that won't help, as my kids will then be saddled with this miserable timeshare There must be a way out without spending Thousands on Lawyers, is this outfit that money hungry it won't let an old lady rest in piece?
Maybe Mr *** can fly a few less miles in his private jet

Watch out! Be ware when purchasing any vacation deal We all want to make an effort to go on a vacation so we throw good money into any program that forces us to go on a vacation with our family or some well deserved rest and relaxation but we could easily put our money in an account and save for a trip than to pay HOA every quarter and monthly payment even if you decided not to go any where for a year YOU still have to pay for the use which doesn't even guarantee you ACCESS to your home resort since the company's inventory is always based around the same federal holidays that working stiffs share

I am SOOO upset with this company My timeshare is in Daytona, purchased it years ago ..long before DRI took it over I don't have points, just a deeded, one week propertyI almost always trade it through Interval International (II)
This year, I called on Jan 2, to get my reservation date, so I could deposit it with II I was told it would take hours and they would deposit it directly I asked what week would be deposited and they couldn't tell me
I am an owner, but have no ownership I cannot deposit my week myself - like in the good ole days AND I can't choose the week being deposited UGH All I could do was make a request So I requested Oct, Nov or Dec And guess what, they gave me a week in May
I am seething with frustration and anger This is so unacceptable
I really want to sell this thing, but finding legitimate companies to sell timeshares is impossible as well

We live near the area of the big Santa Barbara "Sherpa" fireIn fact the fire is now only miles from our house We are still safe but don't know what the weekend will bring
We were booked on a "free" Diamond International stay in Palm Springs and we are supposed to check in tomorrow However, heat and high winds predicted this weekend make the direction of the fire an unknown and they don't expect containment on the fire for another week
We called Diamond International to see if we could reschedule Because we are only a day away, they basically said we forfeit our deposit if we don't show upfire or no fireMaking us pick between our $deposit and our house and well being is beyond absurd Is that any way to run a business that they can't exclude natural disasters beyond our own control??? How does that endear us to them?

We just bought in May Was told they had excellent Revdex.com rating See they do not belong to it I have been trying to get my sales person on the phone and have left many messages No return call They keep calling they have not got my payment this month and say s it takes days for bank to issue check I have been trying to sign on so to look for places to stay Can not log on Did everything they said Was told I would get a tablet in mail They were out that day Have never received it and probably never will Now I get a $maint fee bill Had no idea it would be this large I wish I had cancelled it out in the days I had to do it Something was telling me to cancel but after the snow job we got I thought it was good I am going to contact an attorney

We visiting a hotel in Bryan Head and later began to be assaulted via phone stating we had stayed at a Diamond Resort and had been signed up for all these discounts/etc we finally gave in and took a trip to Sedona to one of their resortsthe hour timeshare sales pitch was brutalWe repeatedly said no, asked to get our exit packageWe were cycled thru different sales people (hit jobs), and the final guy stated it was his job to help us leave the barrageHe was the SLAM guy after all of these destinations that we could visit, he explained that we could try it on for size for a mere dollars and receive points that we could redeem at resorts (all the resorts we had just viewed and received a large book on)He hurriedly explained how this was no risk at all and simply gave us points to use at ANY of the resorts we had just spent hours discussing LATER we found out we can only visit a small group of lowsy locations total con jobwe were totally taken by the scam

I have been calling Diamond Resorts for over a month I am trying to PAY OFF a foreclosure for a client of mine I have called numerous numbers and numbers, been transferred to "Title Operations", etc I've also sent emails to "***@diamondresorts.com" and included a borrower's authorization to obtain a payoff I've been transferred everywhere and they just hang up when they can't help This is my last resort I'M TRYING TO PAY YOU DIAMOND RESORTS WHO DOESN'T WANT TO BE PAID???

They promise things they don't deliver in their sales pitches
Maintenance fees rise quickly and it's next to impossible to sell points, despite what they promised at sales pitch
Blocked access to other members on their website despite providing PM and e-mail "buttons"

Before you consider purchasing an overpriced product, know that, according to Wikipedia, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diamond_Resorts_International, "Diamond Resorts has a policy of not allowing points owners to forfeit their points when they are not able to pay the maintenance fees that increase every yearSome offer their points for a dollar or less on eBay just to avoid the fees." I say again, for a dollar or less The maintenance fee on only 7,points is $1,500/year
It is our strong recommendation that no potential buyers sign any contract with Diamond unless 1) you are thoroughly convinced that you want to waste your money on an overpriced product with high maintenance fees or 2) you will take time to review all documents and make a decision within in the very short contract rescission period - in our case days
Diamond will not permit contract rescission beyond the stated rescission period We requested contract rescission hours after the rescission deadline and were rebuffed at every level, from Chairman of the Board, *** * *** office down

I went to a Diamond International Resorts timeshare presentation in Virginia Beach, VA this past weekend. The resort was beautiful and the offer seemed to be a good offer. The sales person that I worked with was great. I did not buy and after returning home and calling to activate the offers that I was given for completing the presentation. EVERYTHING they told me about the free offers was a LIE. They use trickery to get you to attend the presentations. I am so happy I did not purchase there because they are dishonest and unethical. I have nothing bad to say about the property that I saw, but because of their way of doing business I would not give them one dime of my money. I tried calling to speak to a sales manager about the lies and have been given the run around. It is very difficult to even get someone on the phone. I had to leave a message and am waiting on a return phone call.

Worst company ever. Completely shady with enrolling you in clubs to generate extra fees. Avoid at all costs.

I stayed at the Marquis Villas in Palm Springs, CA, a Diamond Resorts International hotel. The hotel had a direct billing agreement with my employer. I was required to stay there on numerous occasions, sometimes for weeks at a time.

It was an absolute nightmare. The wifi wouldn't reach all rooms. I had to go out to the lobby or hallway to get a connection. The staff was indifferent. The rooms were never cleaned thoroughly. Getting a luggage cart was like pulling teeth. The staff openly expressed disdain and unwillingness to do their job.

The pipes in the hotel were so noisy, for days I honestly thought there was a ping pong table in the room above me. My company had several of our vehicles broken into inside their garage.

The worst part is, 4 years later, I *STILL* get unsolicited phone calls citing Diamond Resorts as their business relationship. The calls are incessant, at all hours, and a never-ending headache.

Don't walk away. Run. Run as fast and as far as you can.

Yes, we, unfortunately, are VICTIMS of Diamond Resort and their Gastopo tactics. I told them at their ARM TWISTING sales meeting that I was on a fix income with a mountain of major medical bills and could not afford to buy into their malarkey. They said we could put the down payment over several credit cards. Every time I gave a reason for not wanting to buy their [redacted] they came up with something else. They even suggested that to help with the yearly maintenance cost we could purchase the travel insurance, make a two week or longer vacation to anywhere, then cancel it for the insurance money, to me that is perpetrating fraud, the sales lady claimed it wasn't, [redacted]. Unfortunately, my wife relented and agreed to buy it. Now that I can not make the payments or pay the yearly maintenance cost they are calling 4 or 5 times a day wanting payment. Finally two days ago I decided to berate the Hindu that called from INDIA representing Diamond Resorts. I told him to tell Cloobeck (the CEO) to take his time share and shove it up his [redacted], and that they can begin foreclosure, because I have no intention of EVER paying them another cent. I haven't received another call from them since. I love my wife dearly, but I wish she had followed my lead at Diamonds sales pitch.

Totally mislead by what the quality etc during booking. I totally get why this is a no refundable place. Once u get there u immediately see the rip off. Old outdated , no room service but q 3 days. The person checking us in said the third party booker was a lot more expensive than what the onsite cost would be rooms were musty and the bathrooms tub and sinks were very moody. The broken toaster had a dead riach fall out of it when lifted off the frig. The room very run down with musty broken down beds. Another one of the pm staff man seemed to be annoyed that we were even there. Overall a very unpleasant xperience that we could not afford to just walk off due to no refundable. I was at the tuscon location

The Sedona Summit resort refuses to allow lap infants (6 weeks old!) on their tours even in extenuating circumstances. With this lack of concern for others, they lose potential customers - including me!
