Diamond Resorts International Reviews (60)

This is a horrible company - completely fraudulent, unethical.....I don't understand why there has not been a class action filed.

My experience with Diamond Resorts has been positive. I am concerned about the fact that they have high maintenance fees, but in their dealings with me they have been straight forward. No complaints. The properties are nice and the staff at the properties treat people very well.

Customer service representatives were not helpful nor friendly. In general, poor communication with customers. They were not able to contact me via phone and kept calling me regarding my last payment instead of emailing me (which they verified while we were on the phone) or sending a letter. I was away for work and traveling and unable to call and a voicemail was never left so I thought it was a scam number.

In the meantime over the last month I accumulated interest for not paying the last payment and the customer service representative couldn't or wouldn't do anything to waive or decrease some of the interest fees since I did not receive other communications regarding this since I was on automatic payment.

I was contacted by a call center to get 2 vacations for touring the resorts. I was told to go to 5starvactionsvip.com to check the possible resorts to stay at. I picked the Palm Canyon in Palm Springs after getting the confirmation we realized that we were booked at Palm Mtn., not Palm Canyon. I tried to get this fixed by talking to person after person and everyone pretty much said "that's the way it is". No one cared that they are false advertising since there is nothing about the Palm Mtn. anywhere. I explained that if we are interested in buying we want to stay at the Resort we are interested in, still denied. Then I asked if we could at least use the facilities while we are out there, denied again. How can you deny someone that is a possible customer the use of the product you are trying to sell! Oh well, there loss, they sure won't be getting our business.

I have stayed at the Polo Towers in Las Vegas before for the central location. I purchased 3 night package from a Diamond Resort sales person, which assured me I can use it for the Polo Towers.

When I called to book the package I was told it is for the use of owners only and that I was misinformed. I asked for a refund since I will not be getting what I paid for, but they refused that as well.

I spoke to a supervisor who treated me like I was the lair and refused to provide what was promised to me by Diamond.

Diamond Resorts has huge problems. They have operational issues that never get resolved. While their customer service people are nice, but never actually resolved a problem. This goes for the management of the association as well as actual resort site general managers. They charge a "voluntary" donation fee on every bill that you have to call to have deleted on every bill. They say that they do not have the technology to delete this permanently. That is simply untrue. I would think very carefully before becoming a member of Diamond.

My fiance and I have a timeshare through Diamond. I am constantly disappointed by the experiences we have had with them. We were at the [redacted] resort in May without water periodically the entire time, having to carry a baby and stroller over holes and exposed pipes in the ground due to more maintenance issues, not being able to use the pool due to remodeling etc- and NO discounted rate for any of that. Also, we wanted to use our points to book a stay at a local resort in Estes Park. Oh, we can stay. But not with our points. We would have to pay. Because Diamond wants to make even MORE money off of us. It makes zero sense that someone with membership cant book with points, but can book to pay in cash. Unbelievable. The power of yes doesn't exist here- creating memorable vacations here just turns into a nightmare. So disappointed in all of our experiences even though I enter each one optimistic. Members are not valued except for when they are trying to wine&dine you into buying more

we attended an hour of presentation that became four hours because they tried to convince us to be an american collection member as opposed to hawaiian collection which we paid in full even if it was expensive, then we signed a contract with numerous pages of fine print, we were exhausted and just wanted to go home. we could not cancel it within a specified time because they were not answering our calls, so we decided to just continue paying the mortgage which turned out to be thousands of dollars more than what we were told, and the maintenance fee of almost $4,000 every year. since we could not pay this fee, we could not use any of the vacations. this is the worst nightmare financially and emotionally for us.

I sold my time share to a friend of mine over 90 days ago and still Diamond Resorts has not taken my name off the deed. I was told it would take only 60 to 90 days. Now I am being told it will take over 120 as they are just too busy. That is BS! They charged me an a ridiculous price to do a deed transfer over $120, when the Clark COunty office only charges $22. Diamond Resorts is a RIP OFF and will charge you for every little thing. I sold my timeshare as I don't use it anymore and don't want to be bothered with it. I am on the phone more with them now then I ever have been before, since my friends loves to travel who bought it and I have to book everything. Diamond Resorts is the WORST! Stay away! They will do nothing to help and seem to be everythign they can to upset you. Customer service SUCKS!

I have been a member of this bought and sold company since my original purchase in Palm Springs over 15 years ago. NEVER HAVE I BEEN ABLE TO USE THIS VERY COMPLEX SMOKE AND MIRRORS VACATION COMPANY! Don't get into it phones don't answer, log in doesn't work week after week. These folks should all be turned over to [redacted] as crooks.

The poorest investment we have made and worst vacation I've taken my wife on. Conned into an "ownership update" with the promise of lowering our sky-rocketing maintenance costs and only 55 minutes of our time after repeatedly telling several other representatives NO. Three hours later, my wife in tears, telling us our deed was worthless because it was with the bankrupt prior PVC timeshare group, nothing they could do for us being we were PVC owners and not Diamond, threats of destroying our credit if we stopped paying maintenance, offering us a heck of a deal to upgrade to Diamond for another $10,000 instead of the normal $68,000. We ended up paying three thousand dollars to lock up the $10,000 one-time only upgrade offer and get away from the endless line of Diamond people that even followed us out of their office after I left the office, hoping to make the property more attractive to a potential purchaser. Wish I had never heard of Diamond Resorts, desperately looking to find a buyer

This company engages in what I believe are very deceptive practices. We have a time share ownership that was bought out by Diamond Resorts. They now treat us as an unwanted step-child. They frequently imply that unless we buy into their program (which means spending thousands of dollars) we might find it very difficult to get reservations when we want them because their clients now have access to the home resorts that are part of their program while we do not have access to their resort with out buying into it. Recently we attended one of their sales meetings. We were ready to purchase a "trial" membership to see how their program works, until we saw the actual contract and realized that the information in the contract was vastly different than what we were offered in our sales pitch. They would not give us copies of the information they wrote down during their sales pitch, and made not apology for the contract they tried to sneak past us.

Never, ever buy a timeshare! 18 years ago my husband and I bought with a company (ILX, Inc.) that went bankrupt and Diamond Resorts now owns. They took over our ownership and changed the entire structure of it to points forcing us to spend nearly $5000 if we would like to trade it for any resort outside of those that Diamond owns. We refuse, so we are now limited only to Diamond's properties which are very limited in number. Our deed has no value and so we are stuck paying $800/year in maintenance fees (hundreds more than when we bought). We can't GIVE it away! Buyer beware!!!!!!!!!

I don't know what is WRONG with these people. I am on the DNC list, and they call me multiple times a day, and have for quite smoe time, even though I have demanded it stop. I was told it would STILL take another 30 days to stop the calls. I have been on the DNC list for YEARS. What part of NO NOT CALL list escapes these people? I have blocked the number, and it still gets through.
Why would ANYONE consider EVER doing business with people who harass that person at home, multiple times a day, and who will not stop?
If I WANT a vacation home, I'll BUY one. GO AWAY and STAY AWAY. STOP Harassing me.

I have stayed at the [redacted] Resorts several times. This is my experience the week of Feb 14-21 2015. My big complaint is the Diamond International Sales Staff. I had not been to an "Update" in years for the reason my husband does not go on our Disney Trips. And according to Diamond International I can not make any financial decisions on my own. I made the mistake of telling [redacted] at the desk my husband would join us on Friday. We usually received two calls a day to set up the appointment for Friday, and on Wednesday we received FIVE calls. Talk about harassment. we finally set up a 55 minute presentation with a $20.00 deposit on how to use our time share more efficiently and with a promise of a $100.00 gift card. The presentation dragged out to 1 1/2 hours until my daughter came up with my three yr old grandson who was anxiously awaiting to go to Magic Kingdom. The whole thing was just another sales pitch. We were told because we were on the lowest level, 8500 points we were not entitled to see all the Resort Listings and would never be put on a priority list. However if we upgraded our points at $9 a point at a 17.99% interest rate we would be a valued member. When we resisted the point fee was dropped to an old rate of $2.99 a point with 11.99% interest. And of course we had to sign that wonderful rate at that time only. Our sales person than sent in her manager and we said we would need to think about it. He then sent over another sales person, a very rude sales person, who slammed a paper down for us stating we we not going to consider this opportunity. Finally we left and went downstairs to accept our promised $100.00 gift card. [redacted] proceeded to tell us it was $75.00, however my daughter took many of the calls and she very loudly said Oh No [redacted] the card is for $100.00. We did receive the $100.00. My advice DO NOT go to Diamond Resort Seminars, a true scam, and keep in mind my measly 8500 points cost us $1764.83 per year in maintenance fees.

My wife and I were promised 3 days and 2 nights in (quote) "Our exciting resort destinations".
We made time and attended the presentation and received the vacation reward certificate.
When trying to redeem it we found out that it is going to be a low level 3 star hotel and nothing like a diamond resort location! I guess I should have known better... but this is a lesson well learned.
Those people are crooks and the whole thing is a fraud. They are very well trained to fool you.
Stay away and beware.

High pressure sales.
Property keeps getting resold.
Fees keep increasing.
Resorts mid level, not as nice as [redacted] or [redacted]
Poor customer service.

Hi, my name is [redacted] M [redacted], I own my timeshare with [redacted] who was bought out by Diamond . since then they have rasied my dues considerably and have used scare tatics to try get me to buy in to there timeshare. I thought that when a company buys another you become them. [redacted] was a good time share Diamond is a very bad timeshare.... now I dont want to go to any of my resorts the last time I went was in 2013. I even was willing to give my time share to them free of charge and they said no because they dont want to loose my yearly dues that are outrages, and will continue to explode higher to pay for [redacted]'s life of luxury, I wish he would change his first name, he give it a bad name.... please do not believe there typical response to mine am=nd everybody elses complaints, THEY DONT CARE!!!!!!!!!!!

I represent a client who had a serious problem with his financial situation and although I had little hope we would be able to find a mutually amicable solution, Diamond Resorts and Patricia [redacted] at DR did an amazing job at responding promptly and completely to our requests. In no time, my client was able to have peace of mind and as a loyal 17 year customer of Diamond Resorts he was pleased with the result. I wasn't just pleased, I was ecstatic. They did an amazing job.

James [redacted] and his group use bait and switch on ads for hotels.. T
hey promise one rate and charge another - and then charge 10% of amount charged as a retention.

They do not disclose anything up front. It is sad because out of town guest get ripped off by these liars.

I hope they feel good about ripping off hard working families in az. STAY AWAY FROM THIS GROUP
