Doctor on Demand Reviews (79)

On May 12th 2020, I uploaded the FMLA forms onto my online account so that *** can complete then fax to *** in my human resources office. Today is June 2nd and the doctor as yet to complete the forms. Ive called Doctor on demand customer service line on numerous occasion and even spoke to supervisors who couldn't even help me because all that they could do is escalate the matter and wait. Next week will be one month and my human resources office are on my back about getting these forms in order to approve my sick leave. I am in more mental anguish than I was before going on this medical leave. This medical leave was to be for me to adjust to new medications for my anxiety and depression. This issue has only heightened it. I am very disappointment in the way that this simple matter is being handled and will not see any providers from Doctors on demand in the future. This complaint is for my FMLA forms to be faxed to my human resources office and I also need Doctors on demand to change the way that they handle cases such as mine where patients need them to complete forms. They also need to change the way that they contact providers especially during a urgent matter. I was told that they don't have a direct phone number to contact providers and they only contact them via chat or through messages. That is u acceptable especially during this Pandemic.

I had an online appointment on 5/9. I was given a prescription. On 5/9 I was unable to fill the prescription as it was not carried by my rX and at a cost of over $500 was not covered by my insurance. The pharmacist said there was a substitute and that the pharmacy had called the provider and left a message regarding which substitute was available on 5/9. I checked with the pharmacy on 5/10, 5/11, and 5/12 and still no call back to the pharmacy from Doctor on Demand. On 5/12 I submitted an electronic complain to Doctor on Demand. After not hearing back, I called Doctor on Demand on 5/13 and submitted a verbal request for them to address my prescription issue. I also asked them to escalate my complaint. The person I spoke with on the phone said he could not get a supervisor on the phone for me and that he had to submit my complaint electronically. The person I spoke with stated he has no way of addressing my issue and that someone would have to look at my complaint and address the issue in order of acuity. I am a nurse who works 12 plus hour shifts. I am not available to take phone calls most days, but I have not received any voicemail messages or emails back from Doctor on Demand and it is now 5/16. I have waited a week now with no resolution. This company has left me feeling like they are all about the volume and money and do not care at all about their customers/patients. I will also be submitting a complaint to my insurance company regarding this as the recommended this company to me. What a disappointment to me and quality healthcare in general. By the way, my prescription is a simple topical antibiotic to treat issues I’ve incurred having to wear a mask every day due to COVID-19. This is in no way a difficult prescription for Doctor on Demand to order. I last checked with my pharmacy on 5/15 at 8PM and the rX had still not received a phone call regarding my prescription.

I used doctor on demand and had a virtual visit with a doctor, was not sent a doctors note and needed one that day for my work to accept it as a excused day. Called their customer service line 6 times and was finally told after many “i dont know how long it will take to get a note sent” that my best bet was to make another appointment in order to get one and pay ANOTHER fee. NOW they will not give me a refund because of me having to make another appointment to get something that should have been given on the first visit. Now they are refusing to give me a refund for an appointment I should have NEVER HAD TO MAKE

I talked to a doctor and she literally told me she wouldn’t charge me for the visit and said I should get a throat culture. She wrote in the notes that she told me to get a throat culture and come back for a free visit. She never said that and it doesn’t even make sense. Why would I go to another doctor get a throat culture then waste my time coming back? They said because she told me to see a doctor that was medical advice.

I had several issues with this company from technical issues to customer service. When I couldn't get an appointment with my doctor because she didn't have anything available outside work hours or she was totally booked. I contacted them to send a message to my doctor or tell my doctor I am trying to get in. They said they don't do that. Nothing I said mattered even though my doctor told me to call in if I couldn't get in. They don't care about customer loyalty either! After 8 months seeing a psychologist there, I changed jobs. They did not accepted the insurance I had. So at first the price was $108 dollars out of pocket. Then a month later they really jacket up the price to $179. They price gouge their out of pocket patients. It's very obvious. I could go see a psychologist locally and not pay that amount. Then when I changed my insurance again, they didn't accept that either but they said the price on there would be around $125 dollars . I don't remember the exact number but it was less than $179. After my session I noticed they charged me $179. I called and asked why and they said that other price is for a half hour but no where in there it said it was for a half a hour. It had times for general doctors but not psychologist. I sent them a screenshot to prove it. They said they would "escalate the problem". They never got back to me. So when I decided to write their customer service several months after this a complaint about everything I went through, again they said they would escalate the problem. Well, a month later nothing happened. No one contacted me. So escalation really doesn't mean crap. I feel sad because I really did like my psychologist. That is the only reason I even put one star on here! It is just too bad this company sucks.

NEVER USE THEM! A doctor not only misdiagnosed me but wrote down false codes saying she treated me for alcohol abuse. I was speaking to her about relationship trauma with an Ex nothing about alcohol at all. I found out through getting DENIED INSURANCE because of this false claim. I’ve been speaking with this business for close to 3 months with responses taking close to a month to receive from them. They sent me a partial medical record where they said they “amended” the doctors remarks. This was no where to be seen. I requested the actual document, another month later get the generic response to request medical records WHICH I ALREADY DID. These “codes” they put under each of our names last UP TO 6 YEARS! I will now pay higher insurance premiums and not be accepted for life insurance. This is absolutely insane and there’s no one to help me. Thank you for screwing me over doctor on demand, really helpful to someone who was going for some metal help.

Do not use this service. This business has the worst customer service ever invented. To get medical records, it takes more than 10 days. Their customer service agents are not trained at all. I have been trying to get a document to my doctor - and it's been over a week and they were never able to update me. Imagine, I'm already sick and this just adds additional distress

Do not use this service. There business practices are designed to swindle patients. Once they have your credit card on file and the fact that you have do not have the ability to confront them face to face, they will take full advantage with impractical surcharges and no way to dispute. Stay in control of your money and your care by going to a PCP or an onsite urgent care for your healthcare needs instead.

Same story.
Ease of service is great. But my Doctor ( I was assigned a pediatrician to deal with autoimmune disorder. I’m 53 ) did not record the prescriptions correctly. I have been trying to rectify the situation through their message / customer service portal to no avail.
It is a NIGHTMARE to have to deal with support staff and to try to get a mistake ( on their part ! ) fixed.
You cannot trust what customer service tells you. You cannot message your Doctor like you can through regular , local web portals for local Doctors and you get ignored and shelved for days on end with no responses other than canned messages.

Doctor On Demand has no procedure for when a provider cancels the designated appointment. Per the company's Terms and Conditions, if an appointment is cancelled within 24 hours, then a charge would be listed. In my particular case, the Counselor for my daughter private messaged me on the phone and told me that she would not be able to see my daughter. She got upset when I refused to cancel the appointment because of the Terms and Conditions I read. I then called Dr. On Demand and spoke with someone name *** She refused to provide any other information (aren't all agents supposed to have an operator ID that they can give out to callers for reference?). When I explained the situation she told me there was no work around and it would be fine. It was not fine. 119$ was pulled from my HSA account and I didn't do anything wrong. There should be a workflow process in the app the makes it to where you do not trigger to automatic payment withdraw procedure. When asking on how I could provide that information the customer service representative was crass. There was no person I could escalate to. No turn around time when I was told that a manager would reach out to me, and finally I was told it would take 1-3 days to get back my money. This process is wrong and can prove a detriment to those customers who use alternate payment methods that they rely on for daily use. As someone who has been working for a financial institution for quite a while, We get calls everyday about customers who can't pay their bills, feed their children, or keep their lively hood due to issues like this. This should be rectified, and I should have been treated with more respect.
