Edge Homes Reviews (%countItem)

Building with a Edge Homes was a great experience. We were referred to Ammon C by one of our friends who recently bought with Edge and Ammon was a rock star. The value provided by Edge homes blew away all other competition when it came to us buying our first home (townhome). The way that Edge seems to take advantage of all possible space in a home was incredible, their design center was incredibly well run, communication with the builder and his attentiveness to our questions and needs was spectacular.
A few suggestions for improvement: We didn't find out when our closing appointment time was until the day of, three hours before, and that only happened because we were persistent in asking and trying to get the meeting scheduled. Part of that was that the appraiser appraised the wrong house prior to the close but even then I feel like we should have had a set appointment at least a week ahead. It was also frustrating to see that other units who were finished after our units had people moving in before as well as other people in our same unit were able to move in over a weekend while we had to wait (and take time off work) to move in at the beginning of the week.
Another suggestion is improvement of the design center website. Having up to date pictures and colors of all options available would make a big difference in planning and preparing to make final selections.
Overall, we have nothing but good things to say about Edge. Would love to work with them again in the future.

We have been very happy with our association with Edge Homes. Everyone has been very kind, patient, and very helpful. The highlight of our experience was our builder. We worked with us and was in constant communication with us. This man deserves a raise. Overall, great experience!

My wife and I were excited to build our home and we chose Edge because of the location of the neighborhood. Our experience has been disappointing since Day 1 and we wouldn't recommend Edge to anyone at this point. Our hope is that prospective buyers have a better idea of what it's like working with Edge after reading this.

USE AN AGENT! It doesn't cost the buyer a cent and you're going to need an advocate. We were browsing the area and went into their office to get more information. Afterward, we were told it was unethical to use an agent because we already found the place without one. We didn't need an agent to find us our lot, we needed an agent to fight for us during this entire home buying process. Instead, Edge took the agent money and put it into their marketing spend.

Their timelines are WAY off. We signed our initial contract on January 1, 2018 with an expected move in month of July. Our house didn't start the digging process until the second week of July with an new expected move in month of November. When we asked what was going on, they weren't responsive or Edge blamed everyone else involved instead of taking ownership.

We had an awesome construction manager for our initial build meeting. We went over our home, things we were concerned about, and he caught a few things that were missed in the design appointment. After our hole was dug, Edge decided to reassign a different manager that we've yet to meet with and they didn't ask if we would be okay with a new manager.

When spending $500k+ for something, it's more than reasonable to expect top notch customer service. We chose a stone based on a small sample at the design center that didn't match what was being put on houses. We reached out to the design center and even an executive, both of whom cited policies instead of working with us because our hole had been dug. Changing stone is as simple as charging us a fee and updating an order sheet, yet they treated our request as we wanted them to undo something already built. Policies should be treated as guidelines meant to guide people when making decisions and there are exceptions to every rule. I'm not saying every rule should be bent or broken, but if Edge was concerned about customer satisfaction they would have been able to come up with a solution that's a win-win for all.

We've put up with the poor communication, unrealistic timelines, and being reassigned. The lack of customer service and time taken away from our days are why I would recommend anyone that is thinking to build with Edge to reconsider. We've had to change our living situation and delay the sale of our home because of Edge's poor timelines, yet they have been unwilling to change our stone because of policies.

TL;DR My wife and I have had a terrible experience building with Edge. Use an agent, don't believe their timelines, be prepared to be passed around, and don't expect customer service regardless of how much your home costs.

I had the best experience building with EDGEhomes! It all started with a referral from a friend that led me to meeting my soon to be agent, Abby. Abby was absolutely fantastic to work with and so fun! Shortly after going under contract I ended up at the design center with Katie who was so incredibly helpful! We had a blast making all of the selections for my new home. It was so refreshing working with someone who was so honest about how they felt about the choices I was making and truly just wanted to help create the best home for me! Soon after I met my construction manager, Brennon, who made sure my home came to life just as I imagined it to be! The whole EDGE team promptly addressed any concerns that arose and always kept me up to date with the progress up until completion. I have been in my home for a month now and have no regrets! Thanks EDGEhomes!

No builder is perfect. With that being said, we LOVE our new home! We feel that the price we paid for the home in the Draper area, the lot, and the finishes to be well worth what we paid. I did have to stand my ground with a handful of things and am glad I did. It's fantastic that we only had to put down deposits until we actually closed on the home, I really didn't want to have to pay for the lot loan and build while still paying for my other living arrangements. I would build with Edge Homes again. My biggest suggestion would be to allow custom plans to be brought in from Landforms or elsewhere.

I recently purchased and moved into an Edge Homes Townhome in Herriman. Overall, a very solid experience. Easy to communicate with and my home turned out beautiful!

Recently finished my purchase with Edge homes. There were a few minor issues that came up through the process but Edge homes promptly handled all issues & made it right when we were effected as buyers. We really appreciated their willingness to make things right.

First of all, we built with Edge in 2017 and you can’t beat the house plan options for these type of builders. You get an open feeling with enough bedrooms and etc. it’s amazing.
I don’t normally write reviews, but when consumers spend as much as we do building a home, quality and professionalism is important. Unfortunately, there have been more negative experiences with Edge, that I personally wouldn’t ever build with them again. From the beginning when the city changed our address and Edge didn’t notify us till a couple days before we moved in, which means we had already called to get everything from our current home at the time switched to the new address. We have been here for 8 months and still have issues with our address not being recognized (which at this point isn’t Edges fault, but they could have saved a lot of extra time on the phone for us). We were also told that there isn’t a walk thru prior to moving in because they have a new process where the customer service team was so confident that we wouldn’t find any issues.. I insisted on a walk thru, so the superintendent offered me a 30 min walk thru. Are you kidding me?! The day we were supposed to move in, Edge walked us through the home and let us know the home would be available to move into in 72 hours. Yeah, so obviously there was poor communication. We had our moving truck and boxes packed. We still moved in that day, but our home still needed to be cleaned and many touch ups still needed to be made. There werepaint drips on the carpet, we noticed a chip in our walk in shower a couple weeks after moving in and Edge told us that they don’t come back to fix those issues after the walk thru had been done.. haha what walk thru? The guy they hired fixed it, but it’s even more noticable now with the color wax he used than when it was just a chip. Super frustrating.
We luckily got paired with an amazing construction manager, named Oscar and he saved the day! Everything that was put on him could have easily been avoided. We have an outlet in our master bedroom that we can’t even use anymore because 3 weeks after moving in, it burned through 3 Apple chargers and Edge says that everything is working properly.. we have multiple blinds in our home that won’t fit properly because the windowsills are crooked. Most recently, the company that Edge hired to put the fence up on the side of our yard, they pulled the sprinklers out without telling us and then told us that someone from Edge would contact us to get them fixed right away. Two days went by and nobody had contacted me, so I contacted Edge and nobody knew what was going on and explained they couldn’t get ahold of someone to come fix them. So, 5 people later and we were without sprinklers for 6 days in the middle of summer. Not cool.
If you choose to build with Edge, watch the building process very closely and expect bad communication from within the company. Other than that, we are happy with our home. Good luck

Building a home with edge was great. Love our new home.

Our experience with Edge Homes was a little mixed. They did a great job with the actual building of our home, and it looks beautiful. We love the floor plans and options that they provide. However, we didn't have great experiences with their representatives. Throughout the process it was almost impossible to reach anybody, or to have our questions answered. There was very little communication from them, and we had to reach out to them multiple times to stay on track. Our building was delayed three weeks and we weren't notified about it until two weeks before our move-in date when we reached out to the agent to make sure everything was still good.
So overall, we love our home and are really happy with it, but there were definitely some avoidable frustrations that we experienced along the way due to poor communication and customer service.

Edge Homes has been a refreshing pleasure to work with. We worked with a different builder a few years ago and we now realize that we were left in the dark when it came to a lot of decisions with them. We did a ton more homework this time around, went with and Edge and they have just been great from day 1 and still are, even after we have moved into our new home. Thank you Edge!!

Edge Homes only allows you access to the design center options and costs after you are under contract. This means you cannot know what you have actually paid for, what you can afford and what you can create until you are locked in. At that point you become aware that your possibilities are reduced to cookie cutter style and/or unforeseen and expensive settling. Once you’ve made your initial offer on your home, you’ve really only been shown the most basic cost. Design options are more expensive than buying on the open market. But you do not have the freedom to do any price comparing or sale shopping. If Edge provided a few more styles, products and variety, this may not be too restricting. As it is, you must pay a premium for terrible tile, dull paint options and only a hand full of plumbing fixtures.
To many, their selection is adequate. For me, it was a huge disappointment. The process is in place to streamline and create maximum revenue.
The Edge models are so much above base cost that few ever achieve the same high design because most have a set budget they’ve determined at contract signing.
Edge is inflexible, rigid and unyielding. Their factory like assembly line has no time for ANY variations to their schedule, product line or quality standard.
You must know that no exceptions means NO exceptions even if a request costs them nothing but could give you great satisfaction.
The buyer is a spectator rather than an actor in the building process. You have an hour with a designer and then no more input.
Edge is polar opposite to a custom builder. You must accept their quality standard, their limited options but pay closer to a custom cost. Never, never, never hope for an exception of any kind.
Ammenities are not started until most units are sold, you will pay a generous hoa before you have even grass.

I wouldn’t build throu Edge again. I’d encourage my friends not to as well.

We loved working with Edge! Our agent Ammon C, was so awesome to work with and our builder was equally as helpful. They answered all of our questions and we love our new home! We have zero complaints!

We enjoyed working with Edge Homes. They were quick to respond to any concerns we had. They were very professional and our finished home is beautiful. They especially took great care on the details of the home we purchased. We would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a high quality builder.

It was great working with Edge homes and there lenders. They went over and beyond to satisfy my request. I would definitely Recommend edge homes and their lenders to friends and family.

We loved working with Eryn at edge! A great experience!

Thank you for your positive review! We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your experience.

We were one of the first to design in one of Edge’s new neighborhoods so it wasn’t too surprising when our timeline slipped nearly 6 months due to issues with the city. However, we cannot complain about the quality, style, and design of our home once we were finally in. Edge did everything they could to take care of us as a result of the delays and lived up to their word. We are very happy about our decision to go with Edge and absolutely appreciate the transparency in pricing and options that we got right up front with them. Very unlike many of the other builders in the area.

Hi ***, thank you so much for your review! We appreciate your kind words.

We built our home with Edge in 2013. We have not had any issues. Though I wish we had more space, we were the ones who chose the floor plan. We loved working with them and would absolutely build with them again.

Hi ***, we value our customer's feedback so we appreciate your kind review. We are glad to hear that you have loved working with EDGEhomes! Thank you!

We had a very positive experience with Edge homes. All the people we worked with from our agent, designer, builder, etc were very professional and kind. We were in our home 2 weeks ahead of schedule too. It was a fun experience and one we would do again with Edge. We also have had a positive experience with the department that handles the warranties and any problems with our home.
