Elite Moving & Storage Reviews (%countItem)

This company sent someone who was drink or high to move my things . It took them 8 hours too move a 2 bedroom apt with three men. Let me get to the good part they could not figure out how to get my couch out. Well when I moved in I had two mover and they got my couch in with no problem. It took them three hours to move all my belongings. I had to leave a perfectly good couch because incompetent Mover. Do not do it .

At first I was very happy with the customer service. Then I was taken advantage of for pricing. They quote you one price; and when they are there moving your belongings; you have no choice but to sign the contract with an increased priced. Why? Your belongings are already on their truck. When I contacted management, I was told they never should have accepted my move. I received boxes that were opened, damaged, dented, and smushed. I have broken glass on picture frames, not to mention a bamboo papasan chair that is broken, on the base and the chair itself. I am still going through things; but I am not happy. I would not use them again or recommend them. I had found them on ***, and nothing but disappointment. Frances was nice for customer service, but Ira is nothing but confrontational and argumentative. Now I have to file insurance claims, and I will say Ellie is nice. I had my attorney copied on some of Ira's emails, and she was shocked, that I was being treated so rudely by him.

My experience with Elite Moving was fantastic. The 3 guys who handled my move arrived on time, they were quick and super professional. They took the care of all of my stuff and they also wrapped all my furniture with blankets. Costs were transparent and what they estimated, nothing was broken, and they put things where I wanted them. This is the second time I have used their moving service and I will definitely use them again.

The movers were courteous and did a good job. The lead/ supervisor was confrontational and rude.
The quote given by the office and what the supervisor explained was different. I had to pay 375.00 for old, torn blankets to cover my furniture. The reason being that I wanted some of my furniture to be stored in my sins garage.
I felt humiliated and very upset with the treatment I received from the lead mover.

Not being from the Chicago area, and having no first hand experience or personal recommendations from others, hiring a Moving Company was daunting from afar and horror stories lingered in my head. We needed a good, reputable company to help with my son and daughter-in-law’s move - just a short distance, but we could not do it ourselves and needed help and we also needed a company that could move a piano - we found one in Elite Moving & Storage. James *** and the rest of the team at Elite handled all of our questions professionally and patiently prior to the move. Their moving team was on time, professional and courteous, a group of extremely hard workers and they did their job they came to do and got it done in less time than the estimate. They handled our items with care and the piano move went well! The moving team went above and beyond in their work, and we are so very grateful for their help and their hard work ethic! I would definitely recommend Elite Moving & Storage in Skokie, IL and will be hiring them again for the next move!

Elite Moving & Storage was great! The sales person came to our house to assess all of the items that needed to be moved and made suggestions on how to better prepare. We were selling a house and buying a house so we need to vacate and have Elite hold out stuff for a few days. The cost for each overnight was a good amount less than other quotes I received but the overall cost was a little higher. They were very much worth the money.

We prepaid the quote they sent to us and then when all of our stuff was delivered, we received a small credit back once all of the hours were calculated. It was also really nice that we had the same crew loading and unloading. Great group of guys! I would definitely recommend this company!

We've used Elite Moving for our last two moves. Their office people is well organized and very friendly. The movers took great care of all my personal items, showed up on time and were very easy to work with and helpful. There was no damage done to either house or to any furniture. Will definitely recommend to anyone moving, it takes so much stress off knowing all your belongings are being transported safely and effectively!

Elite Moving and Storage is anything but elite. First, I was in communication with Nick at *** Moving & Storage throughout the entire process. However, in the end, it was Elite Moving & Storage that came and destroyed my items. So confusing – how did Elite Moving & Storage come into the picture? The lack of communication & unprofessionalism are the 2 biggest reasons why you should not go with this company.
I was convinced that my 2nd experience using this company (***) would be fine, since I moved from Chicago to Knoxville. Without hesitation, I contracted them to move me back to Chicago. The experience I received with Elite was truly a horror story.
1. They were 1 hour late within the timeframe they had given me to pick up my items. I worked from home, and they were still moving my stuff 1-1.5 hours after the designated window. I had to be on a client call during this time, so needless to say, that was very inconvenient.
2. The people that showed up to move my stuff seemed nice, but acted like they were answering a Craigslist ad. They did not look or act professional, as they did not handle items that were marked “fragile” with upmost care, and just grabbed items without a proper label/sticker.
3. I had a gut feeling that my larger furniture items weren’t wrapped properly, especially since the mover just took my standing lamp as is, and said he’d, “wrap this up later when I have a box for it”. My intuition was correct – they destroyed my TV Stand. It’s not usable in any sense since 1 backleg is broken, and the other is cracked.
4. Beware of this company’s “liability”: they do not cover pressed wood (basically all wooden furniture), so my destroyed TV stand is just a waste of space. To top it all off, they lost some screws for my bar stand, so I can’t put too much on there without it losing balance.
5. We’re all human, and people make mistakes – however, the unprofessionalism that I received with this company makes me question why they are still in business. You would think that Customer Service would have proper training, but Ellie from Elite was unprofessional and as helpful as a doorknob. She said I needed to file a claim without further instructions, but said she “sent an email”. The manager called me and made me question my experience and why I was concerned– the customer is always right, right? Not in this situation.
I spent over $2K on this move, and will now be in the market for a TV stand & bar stand. Please do your research and read ALL reviews. The fake ones won’t tell you, “I told you so”, after you receive the worst moving experience imaginable.

Moved from my 2 floor 3 bed house to a new place. I had around 50 boxes and tons of furniture (including exercise machines that were very very heavy). I couldn't be happier. 4 amazing guys came on time, at 7 am and by 1pm we were done. Mr., the former was very attentive and he knows very well how to do his job. Danielle, the sales lady, delivered an amazing customer service and the estimate she gave me was very accurate.
I would recommend this company to all my friends and family! Thank you Elite!!!!!

This company is one of the biggest rip offs possible.
When you first call to set things up. Everything seems fine and dandy. Once things get rolling communication is challenging. Pretty much once they get your money. We moved from Maryland to Utah. Elite hires less than satisfactory “local” movers. The people who show are certainly will not be elite. Most likely some hacks, and not in the promised truck. Our items changed hands 4 times. Yes four times our items where moved arranged and moved. And our items where delayed 10 days. Once “everything” arrived, damages.... piano damaged, bed frames damaged, pictures ruined. Oh and missing about 10 boxes.... that is Always a bonus. The movers who dropped everything off where nice. They said they have never seen items shipped so horribly ever. We packaged just over 3 rooms. Cost was 6,000.00. Better off finding a mover in ***. Stay far far far away.

Amazing! The movers were great! the estimate they gave me over the phone was accurate and the customer service super friendly and professional.
The movers arrived on time to move out my 1 bedroom apartment and wrapped and packed everything so carefully. They had almost all my belongings loaded within 1 hour. Moving is usually very stressful but with Elite Moving everything was a lot easier. They were super fast and they finished everything in 4 hours. I would definitely use them for our next move and would recommend them to everyone.

This company broke the contract. They are taking almost a month to deliver my belongings and
their refused to talk to us. We are having problems at our workplace because of thy keep
lying about the date of delivery and we are stating to work and we may even get fired for asking for days off Hem we just start working. They told us different delivery days. When we calle dejen
they hanged up on us. They say they will give us $30 compensation which is an insult.

Elite Moving & Storage Response • Sep 12, 2018

We are very sorry about any inconvenience with your delivery. Your items are on the way and should be delivered within the next 2 to 4 days. The driver will contact you day before the delivery. Please remember that we do have a delivery window of 1 to 14 business days from the 1st day that you are ready and we are sorry that we did have 2 day delay on this rout.

Garbage company do not use them unless you enjoy your furniture broken and held hostage for cash upfront. Scammers

They come across as if they have good prices- then they end up charging you a ridiculous amount. They claim that I owe an additional 225 on top of the quote for them parking in my loading dock and using my service elevator. The original quote of the mood was 1300- the total was then 2000 based on all the extra fees that they charge to add up. This is a fraudulent company

Their quote was on the higher end but it was worth using them as the final bill end up being lower and the movers did an outstanding job moving me.

It took many calls and conversations for me to decide who to use. Elite’s price was not the lowest but my sales rep knew everything there is about moving. He explained about all the up charges that there are and their cost. I felt confident with his information. Our estimate was 4,800 for a 3 bedrooms home with some help packing. The movers were the highlight of this experience. They were true professionals, packed my entire kitchen within the hour. Our delivery crew was as good. It took them 9 days to deliver but we knew about their delivery window and were ready for it.

BEWARE. My wife researched this company for our move back home from Cleveland to Seattle, finding an A+ on Revdex.com. After our experience with this moving company, an A+ is very hard to believe and we would NOT recommend this company for your moving needs. A lot happened to us in a short amount of time, and if you are thinking about using this company I would take the time to read my experience before pulling the tigger with Elite!! It's a long review but the details are surely helpful.
At first, the customer service and attention to detail with Robert (who was handling our logistics) was good. The trouble came about when our move date finally arrived. They give a 3 day window for pick-up, with a supposed 24 hour heads-up for arrival of the truck. That means they could have picked our things up June 3, 4, or 5. Well, June 4th came, the absolute last day they said they would call to pick up for June 5th, and their call to us NEVER came by the due date and time. In fact, we were the ones that called them worried that we never heard from them! Interestingly, they said the truck had broken down somewhere on the East coast. A critical piece of information the customer should know ASAP. The fact that WE had to make the call and find that out ourselves was already a red flag with this business. They told us they would be 2-3 days later past our signed contract pick-up date. This frustrated us as we had already shut off our utilities in anticipation for June 5th. Mary *** was the customer service person now helping us (what happened to the first guy Robert we were talking to? We never heard back him). Although she was helpful and nice, the two days trying to get information on when we would get picked up was spent with ME making the calls to them. They were not proactive and we felt rather ignored. From a business standpoint, their communication is unacceptable and scary bad. Due to the inconvenience, we had to do an impromptu stay in a hotel for a couple nights because we did not have hot water and electricity. This also caused us to shift our work schedule, and lose more money on our end. To put a cherry on top, we planned for June 5th, so our lease was already done. We had to explain the predicament to our landowner so that we could keep our boxes there for a couple more days.
The positive was that both of the drivers/packers at the beginning and end of the move were great and paid a lot of attention in handling our possessions. Our pick-up driver, Pablo, was a very nice guy. They do an exceptional job padding and taping as much as they can. Although that is the case, the in-between/storage is another story, as we did have boxes that looked like they went through the ringer. We had a couple of boxes that looked like Hulk smashed them :( Lucky for us, I tripled layered our fragile items in bubble wrap myself!
Due to the inconvenience and their poor communication, the move ended up costing us a few hundred more on top of the thousands we gave (due to the hotel and missing work). Here is what we are most upset about: we initially asked Mary *** if we could receive some compensation for the inconvenience (at least our deposit back or a discount on our total). She said she would ask her boss and let us know. One day passed and nothing. Another day passed and we were told that her boss was suddenly out of the office and she needed to ask her GM, Ira. I was getting upset at this time as I felt like we were getting railroaded with literally everything. We NEVER got the call from Mary *** or Ira, giving us at least a response about our ask for compensation. HORRIBLE. Additionally, from time of pick-up to driving to Seattle, 2 weeks had passed. Mary Cruz called us to let us know our drivers were coming to make the final drop-off. She did not even mention anything about our request for compensation in that call. We knew she remembered as it had been a discussion on our previous 2 calls. We were very disappointed that she ignored that. We are heavily disappointed that we lost a lot due to their shortcomings.
We would absolutely NOT recommend this moving company. That is unfortunate because they price decently and they have nice and careful folks who do the driving/packing. They lack essential business tools. No proactive communication, inability to truly listen to the customer, no respect for the customer's own schedule, poor follow-up, spotty customer service, nonexistent and apathetic management, and...ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY (you can see this by reviewing the manager's response below- lots of customer blaming).
In the end, yes we did get all of our things back, but it was a very stressful ordeal for us. They caused us to lose more money and our request for compensation was ignored through the entire chain of command. No follow-up call? Really? They run a shameless business. First impressions are great to reel you in, then they simply don’t care once the have your money- you’re at their mercy. How this business is still intact is beyond my belief. I would move on and keep doing your homework.

I can imagine how they ever got an A+ rating as this was by far the worse moving experience I ever had. Avoid at all cost! The crew showed up late and one of the three movers smelled of alcohol. They spent more time standing around than moving and loading. I ending up having to pay overtime for the maintenance staff at my new building to stay late for the freight elevator. I also had to unwrap the moving blankets and empty wardrobe boxes myself to avoid additional charges. Nothing was put in the rooms they needed to go to and I had to set up the beds myself later to avoid any more delays. I also didn’t trust them anymore because the one mover must have continued to drink alcohol throughout the day. I complained to the office of Elite but was blown off with both my emails and phone calls. They obviously didn’t care at all.

I hired Elite Moving and Storage to move a few appliances and furniture pieces 1 block as I was moving to a house right down the street. I was quoted a price that I was happy with. Once the movers arrived the extra costs ballooned. The movers broke a mirror cabinet, and nightstand. Scratched the front of my refrigerator, and severely gouged the wood floor in my house. I hired the movers because I figured they would be able to move these items without damage, I could have moved them myself and broke and scratched up my furniture and appliances. After the move a filed a claim with the company in order to be compensated for the damaged items. They informed me that the only pay pennies on the dollar determined by the weight of the item damaged, which is a scam. I was offered $100 for close to $1000 dollars of damage. Save yourself a headache, do not do business with this company. They are only out to take your money and are not at all concerned with proving customer service.

Having a horrible time with them! I seriously got carried away by the reviews. Scheduled move from Miamisburg, OH to Tampa, FL. Goods picked up on May 17th, and it's June 17th now and I still don't have an update when the truck will be loaded for delivery.
Worst part is until last week they kept saying didn't find a Trucker. Wow, a company who boasts them self fast n reliable couldn't find a truck to Tampa for a month. The 14 BUSINESS days window ended long back n still no updates. And to top it all the representative at Dispatch is very rude as if I'm having her goods. I've already paid 50% n wondering when my goods will be delivered.
Living in an empty apt, family of 4 with a 13 mnth baby.
I don't reciceve any updates until I call; they keep saying will call back but never do.
I've never written such a big review but now checking all possible sites to write abt these Movers.
I even posted a review on Elitemovers site but it doesn't show up.
Regret I shuldn have chosen these guys.
