Exhibitors Housing Management Reviews (52)

This firm represented itself as part of a conference in Houston booking rooms They lied and continued to lie about who they are and what they do Once they have your credit card information you are screwed I had to cancel the credit card to prevent them from adding on non-authorized charges Huge scam Avoid

Hello, Please be awareThey called non stop and make you believe they are partner with the tradeshows and hotelsAnd they are not! They almost got my credit card information, but thankfully I read all your reviews before, So I want to thank you all for your reviews!

The small company I work for is attending a conference overseas as an exhibitorA sales rep from this company called me numerous times in one dayAfter telling the sales rep that I was not interested in his services numerous times, he asked me, "Who the [redacted] do you think you are?" I think that about sums up the kind of business this is

SCAM!!! I've had issues with Exhibitors Housing Management for the last monthsConstantly calling and saying that they're working for our company as the housing provide for our conferenceTHEY ARE NOT! The last few days they now have a new angle where they say that the attendee needs to switch to another hotel as the hotel is overbookedTHIS IS ILLEGAL PRACTICE! 1) I don't understand how these companies can exist and 2) I don't understand why anyone would fall for this type of scam This company is a fraud

EHM (Exhibitors Housing Managment) is a complete SCAM Run, don't walk They called me regarding a reservation made on my behalf for a speaking engagement and they wanted my credit card information to hold the room I was not even paying for That raised serious questions and coupled with the very strong eastern European accent I hung up on them and called the group that initiated the reservation They were aware of the problem and working through a resolution From the sounds of it several others had taken the bait and were in big trouble If 800-600-calls on you, ignore them and give them nothing!

Exhibitors Housing Management (EHM) contacted me on Monday January 25th indicating the rooms for the my conference were running out and reservations needed to be completed soon I was on my way out the door and asked if we could do this over the phone and they said no it has to be done online Again believing they were part of the conferenceI went through the process of completing the reservation
On Monday after I made the reservation I received an Email from the conference with the following message:
We have been informed that Exhibitors have been contacted by companies misrepresenting themselves as the conference Housing Service Provider
I contacted the EHM company on Wednesday, January 27th to cancel the reservation and I left a voicemailwhich was never returned
I called again on Thursday, January 28th, spoke to someone and indicated I wanted to cancel the reservation and they said they needed to transfer me to someone and when they transferred me I was disconnected I then called back only to get a message again saying no one was available
Finally called again on Tuesday, February 2nd and spoke to someone who again said they needed to transfer me I stopped them and said I wanted to talk to a manager I spoke to a manager named *** and she said she could cancel the reservation, but I would be charged a 25% fee for the cancellation and I needed to agree to the fee I refused to agree to the 25% fee stating they misrepresented themselves so the contract should be voided I explained I would file a claim with my credit card company and she stated the credit card company would not reverse the charges because I signed a contract and they made the reservations as part of the contract
I contend the falsely represented themselves and so the contract should be voidI said I wanted the reservation canceled and my deposit returned immediately They said I needed to agree to the 25% cancellation fee This is absurd If I signed a contract then they should be able to cancel the reservation and if they are justified in the contract automatically charge the 25% cancellation fee I contend they are holding this over my head until I agree to the cancellation fee, which I refuse to agree to
I called the credit card company and contested the charge They said they will be providing a provisional credit and conduct an investigation The complaint # to reference as part of this is 11292-02FEB
EHM then sent me the following Email:
“Dear Kraig,
Kindly note as per your phone call with *** to cancel your reservation, there will be a 25% cancellation fees as per the assigned contract, so kindly send us an e-mail to proceed in case you accept the penalty since we can’t refund the customer only in one case which is we didn’t deliver the service as we promised you, however all I can see here is that your reservation is booked and confirmed and we can provide you with the confirmation number as soon as possible if you don’t accept that scenario we can switch the reservation to any other hotel upon your request
So kindly advice to proceed.”
I then responded with this Email:
Dear ***,
I do not accept the penalty charge however I would like confirmation of the cancellation immediately I contend that you misrepresented yourselves as being part of the conference and so the reservation was made under pretense and therefore the contract is not valid Also if I signed a contract then by me requesting a cancellation I should not have to agree to the 25% cancellation fee again as you say that was part of the agreement I think what you are trying to do is again falsely convince me I need to agree to the penalty, which I will not do So please cancel my reservation immediately and return my deposit
I have already contacted my credit card company and am disputing the charges I will be keeping all of my contact information and sending this to the credit card company upon request Your business is taking advantage of people by not providing them all of the information and misrepresenting yourselves as part of the conference There are several complaints with the Revdex.com against your company and I will be adding another one to the list

I'm exhibiting at a conference and had already booked my room with the hotel's conference room blockExpo Housing Services called me claiming to be working with the hotel and conference, explaining that they had negotiated a better rate for vendorsI was hesitant, but they sent me an e-contract which had the hotel information and a reduced rate on itThe contract wanted credit card information and for me to verify the booking datesI explained that I wouldn't provide my credit card information until I verified with the hotel and conference that this was a legitimate offerThey assured me that I could make these verifications before proceeding with any billingFoolishly, I submitted my travel dates with an e-signature
Within hours, the conference host notified vendors that this company was a "room block poacher" and was not affiliated with the hotel or conference in any wayI immediately called Expo Housing Services to cancel my reservation (before the hour mark)After having to repeat and explain myself at least times on a terrible phone connection, they wouldn't help me to cancelWhen I called the hotel to verify the room reservation, they said that it was booked by a DIFFERENT company (Tour Operator Dynamic) and I could not cancel my rooms
After explaining this through email and requesting my reservation be cancelled, they refused to cancel without charging me a 25% penalty (note: the amount they want to charge is greater than the 25% of the room charge)I gave plenty of notice (30+ days) of the cancellation and made my request within hours of submitting my booking dates
I would argue that the sales rep call and this experience has been fraud in the inducement: A specific type of contract fraudIn these cases, the defendant uses deceit or trickery to cause the other party to act to their advantageFraud in the inducement means two things: The plaintiff was misled about the facts (being able to confirm with validity with the conference provider and hotel prior to billing)The plaintiff used the information to make a decision (signed an e-contract verifying my travel dates under the premise that I would still be able to make a final decision whether to proceed with booking)
This company has been terrible to work with and certainly doesn't honor their customer's requestsThey are threatening to "escelate this case to the legal department to take serious action." I do not feel comfortable giving my credit card to this company as there are other bizarre clauses about charging extra for this and that in their "contract."

SCAM!!! I've had issues with Exhibitors Housing Management for the last 6 months. Constantly calling and saying that they're working for our company as the housing provide for our conference. THEY ARE NOT! The last few days they now have a new angle where they say that the attendee needs to switch to another hotel as the hotel is overbooked. THIS IS ILLEGAL PRACTICE! 1) I don't understand how these companies can exist and 2) I don't understand why anyone would fall for this type of scam.
This company is a fraud.

EHM (Exhibitors Housing Managment) is a complete SCAM. Run, don't walk. They called me regarding a reservation made on my behalf for a speaking engagement and they wanted my credit card information to hold the room I was not even paying for. That raised serious questions and coupled with the very strong eastern European accent I hung up on them and called the group that initiated the reservation. They were aware of the problem and working through a resolution. From the sounds of it several others had taken the bait and were in big trouble. If 800-600-4513 calls on you, ignore them and give them nothing!

I am the CEO of the association that plans the conference. I have been asked for clarification, and heard complaints, from some of my association's members regarding this company's misleading tactics.

The small company I work for is attending a conference overseas as an exhibitor. A sales rep from this company called me numerous times in one day. After telling the sales rep that I was not interested in his services numerous times, he asked me, "Who the [redacted] do you think you are?" I think that about sums up the kind of business this is.

Contacted Exhibitor Housing Management - spoke to 3 people attempting to get them to cease and desist contacting our association exhibitors and selling them rooms. They were uncooperative and unwilling - stated it was their job to sell.

Attending the AGU in San Fransisco for the first time as an exhibitor, the EHM contacted me and presented themselves as the official traveling and housing agent for the conference. After a long correspondence, where they repeatedly contacted me, we arranged for a hotel reservation, and I signed and gave them my creditcard information. However, when I later talked to the conference management, it showed that I did not have a hotel reservation - AND that EHM was NOT associated with the AGU at all. When I confronted EHM with this, they refused to answer and refused to refund my money, or acknowledge that they had entered into the deal under a false pretense. A really expensive experience - avoid them.

This company should be banned from calling people. They are scammers. They call and say they can get room cheaper, in this situation they said the breakfast was included with the room rate and when we checked out we paid. With all these complaints against them, something should be done.

My experience is similar to a lot of these other posts. The same day I booked a hotel through an online portal reserved for a conference I was attending, they called me offering to assist with my booking. They said that the one I did online was not guaranteed and they were affiliated with the host of the conference - I mean how else would they have had my contact details? After booking with them I called the hotel and the booking was never made. When I went to cancel the reservation through them, they wanted me to do a wire transfer for 25% of the booking value. Wire transfer? This got me suspicious. I contacted the conference host and they said these companies are known as "hotel pirates". I told them I was not going to pay anything as the hotel reservation was never made. Today they email me to say the reservation is now booked and that I have to pay the 25%. I called the hotel and yes, now my reservation is there. I warned the hotel about this company. I'm now in a situation though where I feel I have to pay the $396 CAD even though this is the most dodgy business I have ever dealt with. Someone please shut them down. My last email to them was: I will do the wire transfer if you tell me how you obtained my contact information.

This firm represented itself as part of a conference in Houston booking rooms. They lied and continued to lie about who they are and what they do. Once they have your credit card information you are screwed. I had to cancel the credit card to prevent them from adding on non-authorized charges. Huge scam. Avoid

Hello, Please be aware. They called non stop and make you believe they are partner with the tradeshows and hotels. And they are not!
They almost got my credit card information, but thankfully I read all your reviews before, So I want to thank you all for your reviews!

This company clearly is here to take money and provide no service. Once they have your money they will not return ANY COMMUNICATION, phone or email. They took a deposit to pay for rooms and did not forward that money to the hotel. After providing evidence they agreed there was a mistake made and that's when they stopped answering phone calls, returning phone calls or returning emails. I found out they booked our rooms from hotel.com. What a fraud.

Review: I was scheduled to attend an exhibition in [redacted] in Sept 2014. On May 19, 2014 I was contacted by Exhibitors Housing Management and told that they were designated the official hotel service provider for in-cosmetics [redacted]. I was told that they were responsible for securing group hotel rates at locations for the exhibition. The account manager that I spoke with quoted a rate for the [redacted] Suites hotel and explained how to set up the contract. I was told that I would be billed 25% of the fee immediately for a deposit and the remainder one month before my check-in date. The first problem was that the company charged me more than 25% for the deposit. The next issue was that I never received a confirmation from the hotel. I contacted the hotel several times (over 6 times) and spoke with several people and was told that they didn't have a reservation in my name. I then contacted EHM and spoke with someone from the support team and was told that my reservation was booked and confirmed (Room#1 [redacted] & TBD (September 8 - September 11) N/S Double #[redacted]). Again, the [redacted] could not confirm this. It was very difficult to connect with EHM via phone. They rarely answer the phone and I would have to beg via email for someone to call me. On July 7 I spoke with [redacted] and was told that he checked at the hotel and your room is confirmed and paid for in full. I told [redacted] that I need proof that the room was paid and a reservation did exist for me because I could not travel to another country without the security of knowing that I had a place to stay. He sent an email with and new reservation number (Rm#1 [redacted] & TBD (September 8 - September 11) N/S Double #[redacted] / [redacted]) and no other proof. I told him to cancel my reservation and he told me that I would be charged the cancellation fee. I told him that they had already charged me in excess of the 25% and they owed me a refund. They agreed but refuse to give me the refund.Desired Settlement: It has been over 2 months since I was told via email that I was owed a credit. I received an email from the support team on 8/7/14 that stated: As per our phone conversation; please note that we have been trying to address your issue with no success. Please note that your reservation with us will be cancelled and you will be penalized the 25% out of the total amount and you will be refunded the difference which was collected by mistake. On 8/13 I was told that it would cost too much in return fees so they wanted to keep the overcharge on hold for another time. I told them no and asked how much the return fee was and was told it would be $** from my credit card company. [redacted] said that is not true. I was then asked via email - Kindly send us your bank account info in order to proceed with the refund. I told them that I was not going to give them my bank account information and they said they are unable to issue the refund to the credit card. Now they don't respond to any of my requests.
