Exhibitors Housing Management Reviews (52)

Review: This company contacted me on my business line claiming to be helping speakers with a conference I was participating in to make room reservations as there were only 8 rooms left and I had to make a reservation immediately. I had been in the process of leaving for a doctor appointment but [redacted], the representative stated it would only take 3 minutes and we had to do this now. He sent me a link and quickly rushed me through the reservation of which I had not time to ready anything as I was concerned with not having a room. I then received an email from the actual conference coordinator the following morning indicating that other speakers had been getting calls from [redacted] and were letting us know that they were not affiliated with the conference and to not take their calls. As I had already made the reservation under the impression they were part of the conference committee, I immediately contacted EHM to cancel the reservation as I did not want to do business with them at the recommendation of the actual conference. They said it was a legitimate agreement and if I canceled now, they would charge me a 25% fee. I am disputing this as they fraudulently obtained my contact information and misrepresented themselves as being part of my conference. I have asked them how they obtained my contact information and they have yet to respond. It has now been a week later and they are still not cancelling this reservation without charging me a 25% fee. the conference committee does not know how they obtained speaker information and I am concerned about the business practice of this company who purposefully sought me out to enter me into an agreement with penalties not disclosed and not giving me the time to review it. They deny this but the fact that they solicited to me under the guise of helping speakers with my conference and then trying to penalize me for cancelling and now have my personal information. This really concerns me.Desired Settlement: I want the full amount billed to me for a room reservation credited back and this business agreement ended and no further contact from this company. I also want my personal information deleted from their system.

Review: This company called us twice, posing as official representatives of a conference our staff is attending in October. Mr. [redacted] forced and coerced the two people who answered to fill out the registration form and submit it. He told us we could cancel the reservations up to 10 days prior to the conference, Sept 19. We then began receiving invoices from them for the total amount, plus additional fees. I contacted the conference; they told me that this company does not represent them, that they have been cold-calling companies, and that they have an "F" rating from Revdex.com. Now the conference, [redacted], has a disclaimer on their site regarding EHM, and warning future registrants about the company. I have over 22 emails from [redacted] in their Support dept; they refuse to refund ANY of our money, so we have contested the charges with Band of America, and will continue to contest any and all charges from this company. But I would like Revdex.com to follow up.Desired Settlement: Refund on any and all charges from this company to [redacted].

This firm represented itself as part of a conference in Houston booking rooms. They lied and continued to lie about who they are and what they do. Once they have your credit card information you are screwed. I had to cancel the credit card to prevent them from adding on non-authorized charges. Huge scam. Avoid

Contacted Exhibitor Housing Management - spoke to 3 people attempting to get them to cease and desist contacting our association exhibitors and selling them rooms. They were uncooperative and unwilling - stated it was their job to sell.

SCAM!!! I've had issues with Exhibitors Housing Management for the last 6 months. Constantly calling and saying that they're working for our company as the housing provide for our conference. THEY ARE NOT! The last few days they now have a new angle where they say that the attendee needs to switch to another hotel as the hotel is overbooked. THIS IS ILLEGAL PRACTICE! 1) I don't understand how these companies can exist and 2) I don't understand why anyone would fall for this type of scam.

This company is a fraud.

Review: They called me at work, implying that they were handling reservations for an event I am attending. I gave them my credit card info, they immediately charged my card. They are systematically contacting other speakers for the same event; I got an email from the event organizers almost as soon as I hung up from EHM. When I called EHM to request cancellation of the charge, they forwarded me to a non-working extension.Desired Settlement: Complete reversal of charges to my card, $120.

Review: EHM called me repeatedly and left phone messages claiming to be organizing my "pre-paid accommodations" in association with a conference I am attending in Minneapolis (the sales rep referred to the conference by name in his phone messages). When the sales representative finally reached me in person he indicated that this was a required process to ensure all conference speakers' pre-paid accommodations were properly reserved, and a formality. He asked for me to provide him the email address I was currently using so he could get me to fill out a web form right now, while keeping me on the call.

When the form required my credit card, I questioned why my card was required for a "pre-paid accommodation." I asked if a charge would be placed, he indicated several times that no charge would be placed on the card because the room was pre-paid.

A few minutes after submitting the form, a $145 charge was drawn against my card.

When I contacted EHM only several hours later, a different representative claimed that the company never represented itself as working on behalf of the conference organizer, and that they are a legitimate travel agency that does hotel bookings. If I cancelled my reservation I would be charged a 25% cancellation fee. I requested a full refund and clearly indicated to them over the phone that I have no desire for their services.

I have contacted my bank to reconcile the charge, however judging from the other complaints, I will be unable to retrieve this charge because I provided a signature in the web form that I filled out while on the phone with the rep. The form claims I have "pre-paid room accommodations" however it also indicates that I am being charged for "pre-paid room accommodation services" which is both confusing and misleading.Desired Settlement: In addition to providing me a full refund, this company needs to be put out of business for predatory and unfair business practices. Once I Googled them, it became clear that this is a widespread problem.

Review: This company contacted me on my work phone number claiming to be helping speakers with a conference I might be participating in next February. They wanted me to make room reservations as there were limited rooms left and I had to make a reservation immediately. I had just left my grandmothers funeral but, the representative stated it would only take 3 minutes and we had to do this now. He sent me a link to both my work and personal e-mails and quickly rushed me through the reservation of which I had no time to read anything as I was concerned with not having a room. Two days later I went to the conference website and saw a message letting all attendees know that they were not affiliated with the conference and to not take their calls. As I had already made the reservation under the impression they were part of the conference committee, I immediately contacted EHM to cancel the reservation as I did not want to do business with them. They said it was a legitimate agreement and if I canceled now, they would charge me a 25% fee. I am disputing this as the EHM representative said that I was a confirmed speaker and as of right now this is not true. All speakers have not yet been chosen. They also misrepresented themselves as being part of my conference. They said that they would file a quality complaint to see if 100% could be refunded since their representative lied to me. Right now I do not trust that they will cancel this reservation without charging me a 25% fee. I do not know how they obtained my information and I am concerned about the business practice of this company who purposefully sought me out to enter me into an agreement with penalties not giving me the time to review it.Desired Settlement: 100% refund of the money they charged me for this reservation without the 25% fee.

Review: This company has contacted multiple speakers, sponsors and exhibitors for our conference claiming that they do not have hotel reservations for our upcoming conference and that they have been authorized to make hotel reservations on our companies behalf for them. They are NOT authorized or affliated with our company or conference.Desired Settlement: I wish for this company to cease and distist contacting our speakers, sponsors and exhibitors from these false claims.

Review: They cold called me misrepresenting themselves as the event I was planning on attending. Told me I had to book my room now because the reserved block was running out and it would also reserve my booth space at the convention.

Turned out not to be true. The are not affiliated with e convention and do not have any ties getting booth space at the show. Now I have a charge to my credit card for a room for a convention that I do not have a booth space at wont be attending.

This is fraud. I asked for a refund and was told no that they delivered the service per there agreement. I would of never booked a room if I knew they where not representing the actual event and could not grant booth space to the event.

All calls were recorded and will specifically document the claims I list here. Plus I have an e mail that was sent from them to me with links to the event in question. They added this to add credibility to the e mail. I plan on filing a class action suit with everyone we can contact that has been called by this company.Desired Settlement: I just want a refund of the amount that was charged to my credit card.

Review: Repeated phone calls claiming they are representatives of a conference our company is attending, stating they need to book our hotel rooms. Asked to remove our company off of their contact list, and calls continue.Desired Settlement: Business should be investigated for legality issues.

Review: I was contacted by EHM and told that they were in charge of all bookings for a scientific conference held in Spain. Since I was an invited speaker to this conference, usually the hotel is booked by the organizers, and even under repeated questioning EHM confirmed that they were required to book hotels for the conference. I went ahead and allowed EHM to book my hotel. I was contacted by the conferene organizers who indicated that they had already booked my hotel. When I indicated that EHM had booked it for me, they said that EHM is a scam, and that they were never contacted to book a hotel for people attending the conference. I contacted EHM, and they indicated that I had to prove that the conference organizers already booked my hotel room, which I did. EHM then told me I either had to pay a cancellation fee or cancel my hotel booking with the conference and book with EHM.

Please, I just want this company to reimburse me the cancellation fee. This has been going on for weeks and weeks. My credit card company indicated that they could not block the charges since I signed a form approving EHM to book my hotel. Many others are complaining about this practice (see (Exhibitors Housing Management Scam) Ripoff Report EHM Scam on youtube). It is amazing that this kind of practice is allowed to go unchecked without any protection for the consumer.Desired Settlement: Refund, no further contact, no attempts on my credit, and cessation of these predatory business practices.

Review: Our agency runs the Crimes Against Children Conference in Dallas www.cacconference.org

[redacted] from Exhibitors Housing Management (based in San Diego) is calling our exhibitors listed on our conference website and implying that her company is managing our exhibitor business. One of our exhibitors called us to let us know this was happening.

I called to speak to Sara, got her voice mail but did not leave a message. She then returned my phone call having seen a missed call. She thought I was an exhibitor calling. I asked her what relationship her company had with the conference, and she stated, "We are managing the exhibitors of the Crimes Against Children Conference." I stated, "That is a lie; please let me speak to your supervisor." I was then placed on hold and nobody returned to the phone.

We have absolutely no relationship with this company, yet they are representing themselves as connected to us, calling our customers and trying to secure information and business from them as if they are connected to us.

I emailed a cease and desist to them.Desired Settlement: I would like this company to immediately cease and desist representing that they are managing our exhibitors and cease and desist from contacting anyone associated with our conference: sponsors, exhibitors, etc.

Terrible company, dishonest and only out to make a buck. Beware they have repeatedly attempted to scam conference speakers attendees - do not trust them.

Review: The company, Exhibitors Housing Management, contacted me on my mobile advising they were affiliated with a conference I was scheduled to speak at. The timing of the call was the day before Thanksgiving, just as I was prepared to leave on vacation. The sales representative indicated that EHM was required to contact all speakers to ensure their reservations had been accommodated. I replied that I had made a reservation, however he insisted that he could save me on the rate charged; all it would require is a few minutes to process the reservation via their website. I was very apprehensive and reluctant, but the sales person kept insisting that he was acting in my best interest and that he could get me to fill out a web form while keeping me on the call. Suffice to say I complied. Never was there any disclosure on cancellation polices or whether I could accrue points at the hotel I was lodging at (I could under my existing reservation). After processing the reservation through EHM I contacted the hotel to inquire whether I’m entitled to points, and whether the room met the same standards as my original reservation. In both cases the answer was “no”. So I called EHM back to request that my reservation be cancelled…………..but it was too late as they claimed I agreed (signed the on-line form) to a legitimate contract.

To make matters worse EHM overcharged my credit card, and subsequently apologized and advised they would re-credit my account. Instead they sent me a credit voucher, which was valid for one year and would require that I use their services at some future time. What a scam. Furthermore, I contacted the conference representative to inquire whether EHM was affiliated with them – as they purported – and they confirmed they were not. Now I’m convinced this company is a hoax.

I’m currently disputing all charges with my credit card company, however I consider EHM’s actions unethical as they misrepresented the truth.Desired Settlement: Full refund

Review: I was contacted by EHM in December and was informed that they were handling hotel reservations for a conference sponsored by the Conference Board of Canada. I was told that I needed to make a reservation immediately or the conference hotel would be sold out. I provided credit card information and was charged for two nights' accommodations at the conference hotel. Two weeks later I learned that EHM has no business relationship with the Conference Board of Canada, and that I had been duped into making a "reservation" through them. My bank also called to let me know that the charge had been processed by a foreign company and was suspicious. Thankfully, my credit card company issued a provisional credit after I reported the fraud.

"[redacted]," from EHM has left more than a dozen voice mail messages on my office voice mail using a Skype phone number. He has sent many emails as well, even after I asked that he cease doing so.

EHM (Exhibitors Housing Managment) is a complete SCAM. Run, don't walk. They called me regarding a reservation made on my behalf for a speaking engagement and they wanted my credit card information to hold the room I was not even paying for. That raised serious questions and coupled with the very strong eastern European accent I hung up on them and called the group that initiated the reservation. They were aware of the problem and working through a resolution. From the sounds of it several others had taken the bait and were in big trouble. If 800-600-4513 calls on you, ignore them and give them nothing!

Exhibitors Housing Management (EHM) contacted me on Monday January 25th indicating the rooms for the my conference were running out and reservations needed to be completed soon. I was on my way out the door and asked if we could do this over the phone and they said no it has to be done online. Again believing they were part of the conferenceI went through the process of completing the reservation.

On Monday after I made the reservation I received an Email from the conference with the following message:

We have been informed that Exhibitors have been contacted by companies misrepresenting themselves as the conference Housing Service Provider

I contacted the EHM company on Wednesday, January 27th to cancel the reservation and I left a voicemail. which was never returned.

I called again on Thursday, January 28th, spoke to someone and indicated I wanted to cancel the reservation and they said they needed to transfer me to someone and when they transferred me I was disconnected. I then called back only to get a message again saying no one was available.

Finally called again on Tuesday, February 2nd and spoke to someone who again said they needed to transfer me. I stopped them and said I wanted to talk to a manager. I spoke to a manager named [redacted] and she said she could cancel the reservation, but I would be charged a 25% fee for the cancellation and I needed to agree to the fee. I refused to agree to the 25% fee stating they misrepresented themselves so the contract should be voided. I explained I would file a claim with my credit card company and she stated the credit card company would not reverse the charges because I signed a contract and they made the reservations as part of the contract.

I contend the falsely represented themselves and so the contract should be void. I said I wanted the reservation canceled and my deposit returned immediately. They said I needed to agree to the 25% cancellation fee. This is absurd. If I signed a contract then they should be able to cancel the reservation and if they are justified in the contract automatically charge the 25% cancellation fee. I contend they are holding this over my head until I agree to the cancellation fee, which I refuse to agree to.

I called the credit card company and contested the charge. They said they will be providing a provisional credit and conduct an investigation. The complaint # to reference as part of this is 11292-02FEB16.

EHM then sent me the following Email:

“Dear Kraig,

Kindly note as per your phone call with [redacted] to cancel your reservation, there will be a 25% cancellation fees as per the assigned contract, so kindly send us an e-mail to proceed in case you accept the penalty since we can’t refund the customer only in one case which is we didn’t deliver the service as we promised you, however all I can see here is that your reservation is booked and confirmed and we can provide you with the confirmation number as soon as possible if you don’t accept that scenario we can switch the reservation to any other hotel upon your request.

So kindly advice to proceed.”

I then responded with this Email:

Dear [redacted],

I do not accept the penalty charge however I would like confirmation of the cancellation immediately. I contend that you misrepresented yourselves as being part of the conference and so the reservation was made under false pretense and therefore the contract is not valid. Also if I signed a contract then by me requesting a cancellation I should not have to agree to the 25% cancellation fee again as you say that was part of the agreement. I think what you are trying to do is again falsely convince me I need to agree to the penalty, which I will not do. So please cancel my reservation immediately and return my deposit.

I have already contacted my credit card company and am disputing the charges. I will be keeping all of my contact information and sending this to the credit card company upon request. Your business is taking advantage of people by not providing them all of the information and misrepresenting yourselves as part of the conference. There are several complaints with the Revdex.com against your company and I will be adding another one to the list.

Review: The Exhibitor Housing Management company is contacting my client's members (American Academy of Maxillofacial Prosthetics - AAMP), without my client's or RES Seminar (the AAMP official meeting planner) permission, insinuated that Exhibitor Housing Management company represents my client, advising that prompt action be taken to make conference hotel reservations, commenting that hotel rooms are selling out with little time to make accommodations and encouraging them to make hotel reservations through their company.

Our client's delegation is being mislead by Exhibitor Housing Management Company for personal financial satisfaction and making false comments regarding representation.Desired Settlement: Please contact Exhibitor Housing Management company and ask them to cease and desist from contacting our clients (American Academy of Maxillofacial Prosthetics - AAMP) and representing themselves as a hotel booking agency that is associated with our conference.

Review: EHM (Exhibitors Housing Management) is a scam operation.

EHM is trolling the internet for conference attendee/speaker lists. I was speaking at a conference and did not realize the conference had already posted all my information on the internet. My name, company name, contact information, name of the conference, dates of the conference, the hotel where the conference was located, and that I was a speaker.

EHM called me at my work desk phone. They told me they were with the conference and this was a service provided for speakers. With all their information – it sounded legit. They told me they needed to book my hotel before all the rooms were taken. Due to my busy schedule, I took him up on his offer. I was charged two fees ($135 and $385.65).

About four days before the conference, I got a call from the actual conference hosts. They told me I did not have a hotel reservation. They told me I never had a reservation under the conference block of rooms. I looked up my reservation on the hotel site – it was canceled six days before the conference. I called EHM. As soon as I called – I could tell it was a scam. It was one person who did not speak English very well. It sounded like a residential house in a foreign country. I argued and argued with her about my reservation. I told them I wanted a refund and not charge my credit card again. She said no since I had given them my credit card. She argued that they were a legitimate business.

I cancelled my credit card so they would not charge me any other fees. I was charged $520.65 for services not render.

My credit card company doesn’t consider this fraud since I gave them my credit card number. However, they misrepresented who they really were. To me – this is fraud. Without action taken against EHM – they will continue to take money from unsuspecting people.Desired Settlement: I would like to be refunded the full amount of $520.65 with no other fees associated with the refund.
