Review: Experian is a credit rating agency. They gave my company a rating of 1 out of 10, the lowest possible. When I got the report, I discovered that they had said the file was opened on the company in 1997, four years before the company was founded. They also said the highest contract in 2014 was for $3200. This low credit rating caused refusal of an apartment rental. From reading the report, Experian knows nothing about my company.

[redacted] has done more than 1/2 million in business over the past twelve months, but Experian seems completely unaware of any of this and are unapologetically sending incorrect ratings to our clients and business partners.

[redacted] clients include [redacted] and [redacted], yet Experian knows none of this. I would like Revdex.com to look into the validity of this organization. Are they legit? They are doing damage to companies by giving them a poor credit report, when, in fact, they seem to know nothing about the companies they claim to assess.

If Revdex.com does not cover this, can you please tell me who does?Desired Settlement: Mainly, I would like Revdex.com to take them to task and get them to do the job they are being paid for.

I would like Experian to admit in a letter to me and to the apartment complex that they failed to do their job in the prior request and that they will now give my company the rating of 10.

Response:

Hello, Thank you for contacting us regarding your Experian Business Credit profile.

My complaint is about the deceptive, unethical marketing practices of Experian. . The issue is that thousands of customers who pay the $1.00 for the credit score do not see the fine print which signs them up for $21.95 a month unless they cancel within 7 days. I was among the many who was duped by Experian's practice.

When I learned that I had been unexpectedly charged $21.95 asked the supervisor for a refund and she declined (as she, no doubt, is trained to do.) She acknowledged that she receives many calls from people who are upset because they failed to read the fine print and are surprised to learn they have been charged $21.05 and then ANGRY when denied a refund.

When I contacted my credit card company to dispute the charge the agent told me that my call was not the only call complaining about Experian. My credit card company honored my dispute, and the agent said it is very unlikely that I'll be charged.

When I went online to ascertain if others had a similar complaint, I learned that thousands of customers have been mislead in a similar manner.

I, like others, would think that Experian would be a company representing the best of virtues in marketing. The company could easily send an automated response upon receiving the $1.00 for the credit score report, explaining - not in fine print - that a monthly $21.95 charge would occur should the customer not cancel within the 7 day "trial" period. (By the way, 7 days is a short time when virtually NOTHING significant ls likely to happen to a credit score.) The customer, knowing that Experian is one of the major companies in the credit score business, falsely assumes that marketing effort will be transparent and clear - not a sleazy "fine print" operation.

Experian's deceptive practice wastes the time, not only of their one-time customers, but of the their own agents and the agents of the credit card companies.

I'm sure that some customers are intimidated about complaining or disputing the charges issued by Experian, fearing that their credit score is in jeopardy. The situation is analogous to turning down solicitations from the Fraternal Order of Police.

My name is Anna Mitchell. In Aug of 2015 I supposedly went online to Experian.com were I requested a copy of my credit report. In none of the information that I read did it say that they would apply a monthly charge of $21.95 for the services if not canceled in the 7 day trial period time. They said they stated that in the disclaimer but I do not recall any statement saying such. They also stated they sent out emails about this to which I don't recall receiving. The charges accumulated to around $220 from Aug 2015 to January of 2016. Thank god Capitol One sent me and email questioning them going up on their charges another $21 without calling or sending information that they were doing this. They overcharged my credit card and when I called to question it, I was basically told oh well I would have to eat the charges. I told them this wasn't right being they never sent any information stating they would be charging monthly for them to pull my credit. To which I never checked over the months stated. Thank god Capitol One was willing to help me with this and pay some of the money back. Although I am stuck with some of the bill I am thankful that some was given back to me. I would like to warn people of Experian.com due to they don't make it clear in there information online. I think it is wrong to charge someone unknowingly monthly. I don't understand who would want to pay for the credit check monthly but I certainly feel like I was taken advantage of. I really hope they are penalized somehow for their wrong actions.

I appreciate your business allowing me to file this complaint. And I hope yall can address this company.

Thanks again, Have a great day!!!!

I have been an Experian credit report member for many years.

I noticed that a few months ago their website looked different. This is annoying and has happened many times in the last few years.

when I logged in the summary showed that I have 3 Derogatory accounts & 1 late account.

I spent a great deal of time trying to find out which accounts were listing me as Derogatory. I could not so I phoned them. The representative told me that I have to file a dispute on all 3 to find our more information including to just simply find out which accounts like if it's a credit card or auto loan or mortgage account etc. I couldn't believe that I have been paying 21.95 per month for basically nothing. The reason I have this account is so that I could quickly see what if anything is wrong with my credit so that I could fix it right away. The Dispute process is alot of leg work. You have to fill-in fields inputting alot of information. they don't even have the decency to have the basic information pre-filled in for you such as your name and address which of course must be known because you are logged into your account. then if you do a typo or accidentally forget which email address or phone number they have on file you will be unable to fulfill the dispute process and have to call them again. to unfreeze the dispute process page. This is ludicrous. I am a very busy person and I signed up for this membership to quickly see anything negative on my credit report and if this was designed to make the members work to see the information that you pay for then this is a rip-off. Now, I will go rip-off reports dot com to make a note of this to warn others.

I wanted to cancel my account and the rep tried to offer me a bogus deal such as half off of your regular price to stay on. but then when she read me the terms she said in 6-months the price will revert back to the normal price. Pay for what I ask?

the representative tried to

I was trying to check my credit score through this company. I heard it should be free and that sounded good to me. At the end it said it would charge me $1. Ok... not free, but what's $1? I clicked through the buttons that were highlighted and got my credit score - only to realize I apparently didn't read the extra fine print well enough (my fault, I realize) and I was also charged an additional $39.95. Ouch, that sucks. Next time I'll be more careful. That was on September 8. Today is September 15 and I am checking my bank account and see another charge from them for $21.95. What? I didn't make any additional purchases with them! Apparently I signed up, without knowledge, for them to watch my credit card. This would be a recurring charge every month. I called to dispute this charge and was told I was given a 7 day trial period and did not call to end it, so the charges started. I never received a notification about a trial period for anything with this company. I thought I signed up for a one time credit check and by my own fault was charged an extra $40 for not paying attention. I never saw somewhere saying I was also signing up for recurring charges! I'm so glad my bank already monitors my credit so when this happens I can get it taken care of. Any company that makes its money by using fine print is a scam and fraudulent in my books. There is so much wrong with that kind of business.

Review: In February of 2014 [redacted] was denied credit from a vendor based on the information on our Experian Credit report. Once we ran the report we found numerous errors that were being reported. On February 20, 2014. We wrote to Experian with a request to fix the errors on our report. Per Experians policy, they request 30 days to fix any issues. . After waiting the 30 day time limit we called Experian and were informed that they never opened a dispute , We Resent the letter asking them to correct the inforamtion on our business report on March 26, 2014. Again after a certain length of time not hearing anything from Experian, we placed a call to them. They informed us at that time that they did change a few items on our report and closed the file. They did not inform us of those changes in a timely manner, and the information on our report was still incorrect. On May 27th our agent called Experian again and was told that Experian made an error in not handling the dispute correctly. Once again per Experian policy we emailed and mailed a dispute letter asking for final resolution to our credit report. To date, we have been unable to get Experian to report the correct information on our credit report which is adversly affecting our business. It has been 5 complete months of incorrect damaging information being reported on our credit report.Desired Settlement: We need our credit report to reflect the correct information with the correct SIC Code, NAICS Code, Amount of Sales being reported and amount of employees that work for [redacted]. The date of Incorporation also needs to reflect the correct date.

Re: [redacted]

Review: I was in negotiation with Experian regarding renewing our contract with them. I was working with [redacted] our account rep. we were working on a price that would work for both my company and theirs. while we had been going back and forth discussion different pricing structures and features she could add to make it more cost effective for us, we had not agreed upon anything yet. I received an email from [redacted] stating that they had invoked the auto agreement.

I now have an invoice from them for $2500.00 that I feel is unjust. I feel that since we working toward an acceptable agreement they should not have invoked the auto agreement, or at the very leased I should have been told so I could have submitted my termination letter to them.

I feel as if they took advantage of the situation, and of knowing that I was working with them to come to an agreement.Desired Settlement: I would like for a credit to be issued toward the $2500.00 invoice that we have received.

Hello, Thank you for contacting us regarding your Experian Business Credit profile.

Review: Our company's credit rating was 87 and a week later it is 34. There have been no financial changes in the company, there are no debts, we pay our bills as soon as they arrive, and we have a very large cash reserve for a small company. The problem is that we cannot seem to get anyone to talk to us to explain why there has been such a drop in our credit rating which is detrimental to the company. We have written, sent emails as directed, and even had our corporate attorney send them a letter. Experian's SmartBusinessReports are not smart or helpful. They have reduced the information they do give in the reports, so there is no apparent value now to the reports they provide. They do not give names of inquiries or names of credit that is open on our account. This is unlike that offered to individuals. Our fear is that there might be identity theft going on concerning our credit and Experian is not helpful.Desired Settlement: I would like to get a comprehensive explanation of how Experian calculates the credit information they provide, the names of the people making inquiries and an answer to how our credit rating dropped from 87 to 34 in one week! I would like a phone call followed up with a letter and a revised credit report.

The answer given is just more of their double talk. I do not need to know their formula. I just need to know how my rating could drop from a rating of 87 on 9/1/14 to a rating of 34 on 9/8/14 when our financial situation did not change.

In view of the fact that Experian does not provide customer [redacted] of any kind, we have cancelled our membership in Smart Business Reports. We have joined [redacted] & [redacted] which provides much more detail and [redacted]. Our rating with [redacted] is 80. It costs more, but it is well worth it. Review: Experian Business is severely limiting my business, The [redacted]'s (BIN [redacted]) access to capital with erroneous information that they have attached to my business credit report. I disputed the information on the credit report on March 11, 2014. On Experian Business phone number, a recording states that it takes 30 days to resolve a dispute, but as of this writing, nothing has happened. Based on the erroneous information that was disputed, The [redacted] runs the risk of going out of business if we are not able to get this issue resolved immediately. We would like this issue aggressively pursued, have our good name cleared of the inaccuracies we vehemently oppose, and to be refunded the cost of being forced to pay for a false credit report.Desired Settlement: Refund the money for the cost of credit report.Resolve the disputed items immediately (before end of business week).
