agreements.  Sincerely,[redacted]

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted]. I have discussed the option of moving forward and am agreeable so far with the new terms. I will wait until next week for the business and I to finalize the new terms and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

Regards,

The end of January my husband and I paid cash for a mobile home at factory expo in Lake City, FL. We were told our home would take about six weeks to complete, and be delivered to us. There was a mistake in our paperwork in the office that delayed the building of our home . We weere then given a date of delivery by the end of March. Now , we are told , at best it will be the end of March. This is double the time it was suppose to take to complete and deliver our home, because of mistakes in paperwork . We were told if our home was delivered, or ready for delivery, and we were not ready, we would be charged a fee per day. But, we get nothing for our inconvience, and for our expenses for the entire month of April we have to pay for rent at a hotel. Before you buy, your calls and emails are answered , after you are lucky if they are , and when they are, they seen bothered and say they tried to call when they never did . We ended up calling the corpoate office in Arizona , and they were no help either . Please think twice before buying with this company. Word of mouth and social media is a powerful tool. Please investigate all these things before you buy.

To Whom It May Concern:We are in receipt of the above referenced complaint from Mr. [redacted].  He had written a request to cancel his purchase agreement on November 11, 2014 and it was sent to our sales office in [redacted].  Our purchases are contractual, they follow a...

set process of approvals and per the signed purchase agreement the refund would occur within 14 business days.  I spoke with Mr. [redacted] on Wednesday November 19th after leaving 3 voice messages and had sent an email request for him to return my call.  Mr. [redacted] was notified during that phone conversation that his refund would be mailed that same day.   If I could be of any further assistances please do not hesitant to contact me.Sincerely,[redacted]Operations

Background:Fall of 2012 – due to [redacted] cancer diagnosis we sold our business with the goal of selling our home in order to move to CA.  Our daughter graduated from college in 2012 & moved to Santa Monica for work.  We wanted to be closer to our daughter, our son (who is on the Autism Spectrum, specifically Asperger’s) graduated from high school that same year and we wanted to all be closer together. We sold our home and moved to CA – we wanted less traffic and congestion than the LA area so we purchased @ four acres of undeveloped land (no power, water or septic) to build a home. Instead of being tied into a long-term rental agreement (we anticipated that it would take @ 6 months or less to get on our property – to expedite the process we determined that we would purchase a manufactured home) we bought a 34’ RV to live in at a campground/RV park until we could move into our home.  Because of all of the delays we encountered, primarily with getting employment, we have now been in this RV for 21 months 3 adults and two dogs.Although we both had years of successful employment history we found the job market much tougher than we anticipated, and we were unable to get financing to build a home. Therefore we scaled down our home criteria so that we could use the remainder of the money we received from selling our home to pay cash for our home and get the water, power and septic on the property. We determined that [redacted] had the most economical floor plans we purchased, paid in full with cash an 875 sq. foot home.  We had told them numerous times that our funds were limited, we were going to be getting the permitting ourselves and we worked directly with San Diego County building departments. We had met with all of the applicable departments of San Diego County and they were very helpful, assured us they would work with us to fill in the gaps of what we didn’t know, it would in fact expedite the process to work directly with them.Throughout our meetings with San Diego County Permitting departments, we discovered that San Diego County has more restrictive criteria in some areas than does the state of CA and we specifically asked the Factory Home Outlet if they had worked with buyers in San Diego County and were they familiar with and would adhere to the requirements of such. They assured us numerous times that they were very familiar with those requirements and of course they would adhere to any and all specifics. In reality, what happened were incomplete and erroneous building plans culminating with the transporter that brought our home from AZ and had been paid to deliver to our property, abandoning our home, unlocked & unsecured on someone else’s property on May 1, 2015.  To date, it is still there. Below I have included some bullet points of the issues that have arisen.  I could elaborate and could provide other examples if need be.- The original plans we signed for show overhangs on all four sides of the home.- There were never any change orders associated with the fact that what we were provided was not what we signed for nor agreed to- When we addressed this issue with [redacted], when we told him that he had assured us he was a professional and would build our home to San Diego county requirements, his response was "Kent, I suppose you are also going to ask me how to build a rocket ship".- The transportation company ([redacted]) that [redacted] recommended did not do their due diligence, it is not our issue that they did not adequately prepare for delivery of our home. He had assured us he had [redacted] maps and could see the terrain & the turns.- [redacted] has said that he has been in the business for 30 years, which would lead one to think that he would know how to do his due diligence. In fact, we provided a local contact that is a home setter and transporter and he conveyed to [redacted] the difficulty with our location.  However, [redacted] did not take into consideration what he was told and did not come prepared to properly deliver our home.- [redacted] abandoned the home on private property, which is trespassing.-The home was left unlocked and unsecured.- We never signed for nor accepted delivery- [redacted] did not meet with us when he had agreed to, did not return calls for three days, his response was "I was at the beach"- [redacted] never gave us any alternative, we have had the stress and the issues to deal with, we were left totally on our own and we are now having to pay exorbitant prices to have done what [redacted] should have done over a week ago. - Our home is still not at our property; we are trying to find reasonable costs and availability of
