Review: I set up payment options with my collector, **. [redacted]. I spoke with him every month, and indicated on October 11, I would call back in November to make the final payment. He never indicated to me that my "collection date" was November 18, had he informed me of this, I would have made the payment to avoid being recorded on my credit report. I noticed the report was sent to my credit and affected my score on November 21. I called to speak with my collector, **. [redacted] and he informed me he was "trying to call me", which was untrue, and he never left me a message. I then spoke with a supervisor who then informed me they had to listen to the recorded call to see if he did in fact not inform me of the collection date. I asked for a copy of the recording as well, in which they refused. The supervisor said they call me back and they have not. I want this removed from my credit report as I was not given any information, making consistent payments, and was going to pay on November 21, 2013.Desired Settlement: I want the Negative remark removed from my credit report.

Response:

The consumer contact FCO on 11-22-2012 regarding deletion from her credit report, FCO has agreed to remove the trade item if payment is received by 11-27-2013

Review: In a recent review of my credit report (September 2, 2014) I noticed Fair Collections and Outsourcing placed an erroneous account on my credit report alleging that I owe a balance of $4,080 resulting in a derogatory trade line. Prior to the knowledge of this erroneous account on my credit report, I have never heard of Fair Collections and Outsourcing. Fair Collections and Outsourcing never contacted me via mail nor phone to inform me of this erroneous account. If Fair Collections and Outsourcing had informed me of this erroneous account prior to placing it on my credit report, I would have had the opportunity to dispute the debt in question and to request validation of the debt within the 30 days allotted by the FDCPA. Under the laws mandated by the Fair Debt Collections Practice Act Section § 809. Validation of debts [15 USC 1692g] I am entitled to be privy to this information prior to an account negatively impacting my credit file and score. I shall also be afforded the opportunity to dispute the validity of the debt in question as well as request validation from a Collection Agency as per the laws mandated by the FDCPA. Fair Collections and Outsourcing’s failure to comply with the laws and regulations mandated by the FDCPA resulted in my credit score being significantly lowered, I was denied credit, and I face the possibility of being denied credit, housing, and employment in the future. Upon receiving the information regarding Fair Collections and Outsourcing non-compliance by placing an erroneous account on my credit report, I immediately notified Fair Collections and Outsourcing via fax, email, and in writing via certified mail. I requested Fair Collections and Outsourcing cease all collection efforts including reporting derogatory information to the major consumer reporting agencies and validate the erroneous account with factual documentation immediately in receipt of my fax, email, and certified letter. Because Fair Collections and Outsourcing violated my rights as a consumer by not complying with the FDCPA, my credit has been severely damaged due to this most recent derogatory trade line and I face the possibility of suffering credit challenges that will negatively impact me financially. I am filing this complaint with the Revdex.com for some assistance in this very important matter and to inform the public of Fair Collections and Outsourcing’s unfair, illegal, and unethical business practices. I have also filed a complaint with Maryland State Attorney General (Consumer Protection Division) and the Federal Trade Commission (Consumer Financial Protection Bureau). I hope Fair Collections and Outsourcing will comply with the FDCPA once this complaint has been received and I look forward to a quick resolution to this matter with the assistance of the Revdex.com and the other consumer protection agencies.Desired Settlement: Upon receiving this complaint, I am requesting that Fair Collections and Outsourcing immediately comply with the FDCPA and cease all collection efforts including reporting derogatory information to all the major consumer reporting agencies until Fair Collections and Outsourcing can properly validate this erroneous account with factual documentation and comply with the FDCPA. In the event Fair Collections and Outsourcing regrets to comply with the FDCPA, fails to validate this erroneous account with factual documentation, and continues to violate my rights as a consumer; I am requesting this erroneous account be permanently deleted from Fair Collections and Outsourcing’s database as well as all the major consumer reporting agencies effective immediately. I am also requesting Fair Collections and Outsourcing send me a certified letter confirming that Fair Collections and Outsourcing agrees to comply with my request. In the event Fair Collections and Outsourcing attempts to try to collect on this debt again in the future, I shall have something in writing from Fair Collections and Outsourcing that Fair Collections and Outsourcing agreed to these terms and/or should Fair Collections and Outsourcing not uphold this agreement, I will have this written documentation of the agreement to enforce these terms and if need be, present the documentation in court.

Review: I was first made aware of this item by looking at my credit report back in 2013. Since then I have formally disputed the validity of the debt a few times. I have never lived at this location and I have never visited this location and I do not owe money for rent. They sent me some documentation that clearly shows I didn't live here and another document that has the name barbara riggins and a signature that isn't notarized. They clearly have not conducted a reasonable investigation and verified that all their information regarding the debt is accurate and complete.

I'm so frustrated and will also file a separate complaint with the FTC no one should have to go through this much trouble with something that doesn't belong to them.Desired Settlement: Remove this tradeline it was placed on my file without validating

Review: I was in the process of moving on 8/31/2013, so I put in an application for a new property. This property ran my application and informed me I had a collection account which I was unaware of and provided me with their contact number. I contacted this company who informed me that letters were sent to retrieve payment that I never received. I was told those letters were sent back, well regardless of this fact I proceeded to make payment and remove this information from my credit profile. After payment was made, I was told to email in order to receive confirmation to my payment to proceed with my application and move with 48hrs. This happens on 8/28, well today is 8/31 and no confirmation letter was emailed. I tried calling several times only to speak to rude agents that provided me with false information as to why I haven't received my letter. I'm not in a situation of having to where to move to.Desired Settlement: I should be compensated because this has destroyed my move plans as well as arrangements I made for my move

Review: The collection agency does not practice common sense or legal/ethical mechanisms to ensure that the collection is accurate. The original housing agency never acquired my signature to serve as a grantor. I never accepted the terms or conditions of the contract because I never saw any contract. I have sent certified letters to the Fair Collections Agency to provide me with proof that I agreed to the contract. No response has been given to me in over 10 months.Desired Settlement: Make the appropriate corrections and verify future collections.

Review: I received notification that this company is reporting on my credit file. I noticed that the company is located the the state of Maryland. I have never lived in the state of Maryland ever before. I only lived in my current state and nevered moved/ I have lived at my current address for over a year and half, so the information they are reporting is either fraudlent or incorrect. I would like this removed since I never lived in the area and have no knowlegde of this debt

Acct# [redacted] .Desired Settlement: I would like this removed from my credit report since I never lived in the area and have no knowlegde of this debt. I dont want to fiel a lawsuit against this company for impacting my credit score on an error on their part. I have documentation that I never lived in the area( lease from my currect apartment where I lived for the last year and half.)

Review: Failure to provide proper validation

I have no knowledge of this alleged debt. I have sent FCO several written requests for information. I have only received an illegible photocopy of what I believe to be a document from the original creditor. This is absolutely unacceptable.

I have never received any explanation of charges or evidence that the charges being claimed are valid.Desired Settlement: I require this account to be closed in [redacted]'s office and all collection activity and credit reporting cease. This account is not to be sold, transfered, assigned or given in any manner to any other agency, company, affiliate, associate or any other organization for further collection purposes with the exception of returning the account to the original creditor. I require a written apology from [redacted] included with a letter of deletion and a copy of the AUD/UDF that is submitted to the credit repor

Review: I received a phone call from [redacted] a [redacted]. He is HARASSING me over an alleged relative's debt. Her debt is not my concern. I am going on 22 years of age, have lived on my own since 18 and have MY cell phone number that they are harassing me on in my name for 2/3 years. He had the audacity to say that my phone is not in my own name... ??? How rude and unprofessional this is MY PHONE IN MY NAME AND MY BILLING!!!! STOP CALLING ME!!!! Our conversations were recorded, I asked humbly I do not communicate with "[redacted]" and to please STOP CALLING ME! Not even a minute later and he calls back! Now asking about my brother "[redacted]", what part of STOP CALLING ME DOES THIS ARROGANT [redacted] not understand??? I am a mother of 2 and the inconvenience of ILLEGAL phone calls is a nuisance! DO NOT THREATEN MY BROTHER OVER AN "ALLEGED RELATIVE". Whatever she may or may not have done does not legally transfer to myself or that of my brother (who's phone # is a digit off from mine). His phone number is in his own name as well. Any debt solely (no co-signers) obtained by an alleged relative does not give these debt collectors the right to contact and inconvenience anyone they so chose to. I know my rights and they have been violated. Please see to it to remove my, and my brothers, contact information from these scoundrels or I will press chargers and contact an attorney.Desired Settlement: DO NOT CALL ME. DO NOT CALL [redacted]. DO NOT THREATEN TO HARASS MYSELF OR [redacted]. HER DEBT IS HER DEBT. LEAVE US ALONE.

Review: I recently moved and when I retrieved my mail I had received three collection notices dated 9/8/14, 9/22/14 and 10/3/14 in the amount of 6037.60 from the collection agency. I called to make payment arrangement and was told the amount owed was over $7,000.00. I told spoke to a supervisor (Vanessa J[redacted]) and told her that I was disputing the amount to be only $6037.60 of which the notices stated. She then said ok and I offered $50.00 per month as I have suffered a back injury and unable to pay more at this time. I was told I can make the payments but they make come back to me. I told her that makes no sense either they will accept $50.00 payment arrangements or not. Supervisor said she wasn't authorized to approve to contact a manager. She then offered a settlement payment of 20% of the balance ($6037.60) to settle in lieu of $50.00 payment arrangements. I told her I would try to get the 20% together and call back in a week to do one of the two arrangements she stated that my account would be reported to credit bureau until Nov. 27 or 28 (not sure of exact day). I have been trying to reach the supervisor as she has not returned calls. I spoke to a different supervisor (David Chase) who then told me that Vanessa gave me the wrong information and that I now need to pay over $4,000.00 dollars to settle the account. I told him that I am calling to settle the total debt at the amount she offered at 20% of my balance on notices at ($1207.52). He would not accept payment so I then verified that the calls are recorded and he stated yes. I expect them to honor the settlement amount offered.Desired Settlement: False statements or representations were made and Attempted to collect wrong amount. Therefore I would like to settle total debt payment offered on 10/20/14 by Vanessa at 20% ($1207.52) of balance as offered. Balance being as stated on statements dated 9/8/14, 9/22/14 and 10/3/14 in the amount of $6037.60 as disputed and agreed.

Review: I have sent 2 letters to this company asking them to substantiate the debt. They have sent illegible copies of documents stating the documents are proof I owe the debt. I have asked them to provide legible copies of the documents and they refused. My lawyer has contacted them telling them it is our intent to file suit if they do not remove the unsubstantiated debt. The collector stated "bring it, we have been sued many times before."Desired Settlement: remove the fraudulent collection account from all credit bureaus.

Review: The company called me with a claim to an unpaid balance sent to them by [redacted], in [redacted], MD. When the company contacted me they made several threats about further collections processes when the account was challenged verbally. After the information was verified by the collectee a phone call was made challenging and the company said they contacted the company about the bill. The bill that was supplied by the collections agency clearly states that there was no deposit returned to the resident and that was subtracted from the owed portion leaving an amount of 116.86. The contactee was then contacted and was told there was still an unpaid amount from a months missing check. When it was stated that it was paid they said it was from another unpaid month then stated it was the last month. Its clear that the company did not contact the [redacted] about the debt and did not verify that the amount due was 116.86. Instead that continued to harass the contactee by stating the amount needs to be paid. During several of the interactions the collector stated that it was not a lot of money and that they had been doing this a long time and to trust them it wasn't paid its not paid. There were clear interactions that were not cordial business and harassing comments made. In addition, the collections company did not verify that the amount owed was the 116.86. Instead the collections company continued to state that the amount due was 587.11. After supplying all the paper work and the company stated that they would send it to the [redacted]. When I contact [redacted] they stated they never received any contact even though the contact was supposed to be sent out two days earlier . After speaking with the manager at [redacted] she stated that they had an error and that the information was accidentally credited to the new resident's account. She rectified this problem by sending an email to the collections company of which I was cc'd. It is clear that the collections agency was not contacting the [redacted] and that they were merely trying to collect an amount that was higher then what was supposedly owed despite the balance being zero. In addition, the smaller amount that was actually owed was clearly able to be rectified as paid by the [redacted]. If the company had contacted them not only would they have been able to ascertain this but they would have been corrected on the owed amount. I'm extremely appalled by these practices as this collections can negatively affect my credit. I'm still waiting for the collections company to make the correction.Desired Settlement: I would like for this to be erased from the system of the company, as well as this information be removed from my credit history by the collections company. In addition, I would like written verification of this change as well as a change of policies for collections.

Review: The credit collections company contacted me in December of 2012 to inform me that my previous apartment complex was filing a $650 charge against me initially for abandoning the property. When I informed them that I gave the appropriate written 60 day notice, they then offered me a discounted rate of $580 that would cover replacing the carpets. I moved out of the complex 6 months previous to their contact and had no issues with my move out. I left all of my updated information at the front desk, and was told that there was nothing else that I needed to do after I turned my keys in. I did not own any pets, and the carpet was not damaged beyond normal wear and tear. I provided a dispute letter to the company and did not get a response. A few weeks later, the company had another representative, [redacted], call me back. We went through the same conversation that I went through with the first representative, except for this time [redacted] was very rude, and ultimately ended up hanging up in my face without me knowing how to move forward with my dispute so that the issue could be resolved. I tried emailing the company back, but I am not able to get a hold of anyone.Desired Settlement: Ultimately, I would like these charges to be corrected in their entirety and for the collections company to close out this false claim brought against me. I would like the phone calls to cease, and these false charges to not have the potential of being reported on my credit report.

Review: I received a collection notice to my home address which was addressed to someone who never lived at our household. The letter was addressed to someone with a similar last name, however, the first name was not a member of our family. The collection said it was in regard to a creditor of [redacted] for principal amount of $834.00.

The notice stated that the account had been or is scheduled to be reported to one or all of the the national credit reporting bureaus: [redacted], or [redacted].

I was not sure if this was some form of scam or legitimate request. I looked up Fair Collection & Outsourcing online and called them. They requested the account number, which I provided.

I expressed my issue and they said they would remove the address from the account. I inquired how they received my address, if it was something from them or from the creditor? She stated it was something on their part and not the creditor. I asked how they selected my address of all the addresses with a similar last name? I wanted to make sure I was not somehow a victim of identify theft. She said she resolved the issue and I wouldn't receive any more notifications. She did not explain how they decided to send it to my address.

My concern and the reason I wanted to file a complaint is to make sure the business is not practicing unethical collection practices. She stated that she resolved the issue by assuring me I wouldn't get any more notices. I wanted to document this incident incase something appears with one of the national credit reporting bureaus or if I received another notice.Desired Settlement: 1. Letter confirming that my address will not be associated with the person '[redacted]n'

2. Letter confirming that my address will not be reported to one of the national credit reporting bureaus - especially when they were in error of who lived at this address.

3. They shouldn't send out notices to people who are not responsible for payment of what they are trying to collect - how did they select our address out of all addresses with a similar last name?

Review: My husband and I owed a debt to an old apartment complex. We were offered a settlement from FCO and called to take advantage of that settlement. I only agreed to pay the balance if it would be deleted from my credit report. Almost everyone told me no, until finally, someone said yes. That is when I decided to pay it off. I tried to get it in writing, but they refused. After waiting the 30 days and seeing no change on my credit report, I disputed the charge. They responded to the dispute showing the debt as paid in full, but they did not have it deleted. I called the company and asked about this and of course they say they would have never promised to remove it in the first place, which is a lie. So, to avoid the trouble and hassle of it all I offered to pay $200 to have it removed from my credit, and they refused. Even if it is their policy to not do deletions, an employee told me they would, and every time I call they say the call is recorded so they should be able to look it up and find out for themselves that someone did indeed promise me that. Very frustrated with the shadiness of this company. Not to mention I had to call this company 7 times today because they kept transferring me to voicemails because they didn't want to deal with me. Also, if their strict policy is "no deletions" why do they always ask for my account information to "check on it?" There shouldn't be anything to check on if you don't do it for anyone.Desired Settlement: I would like the account deleted from my credit history, as promised.

Review: I SET UP AUTOMATIC PAYMENTS AND THEY TOOK OUT THE FINAL PAYMENT 8 DAYS EARLY, WITH NO REMINDER CALL THE DAY BEFORE AS PROMISED.

I SET UP AUTOMATIC PAYMENTS AND THEY TOOK OUT THE FINAL PAYMENT 8 DAYS EARLY, WITH NO REMINDER CALL THE DAY BEFORE AS PROMISED. WHEN I CALLED TODAY REGARDING THIS, I WAS TOLD BY THE REP, [redacted], THAT I SET IT UP FOR THIS DAY, WHICH IS INCORRECT. I WOULD NOT HAVE SET IT UP FOR THIS WEEK, AS IT IS NOT A PAY WEEK FOR ME. NEXT WEEK IS, WHICH IS THE WEEK THE FINAL PAYMENT WAS SUPPOSED TO COME OUT. I ASKED IF IT COULD BE REVERSED, BUT WAS TOLD SINCE IT HAS BEEN 48 HOURS, IT CANNOT BE REVERSED.Desired Settlement: I WOULD LIKE THE AMOUNT, $770.00 RETURNED TO MY ACCOUNT. I WOULD ALSO LIKE THEM TO WORK WITH ME A LITTLE BIT IN REGARDS TO PAYING OFF THE $770 BALANCE. THEY ONLY ACCEPTED A RIDICULOUS PAYMENT PLAN ($2000 1/31, $100 2/28 & $770 3/28). I WAS HOPING TO HAVE THE BALANCE OF THE $770 IN 2 PAYMENTS (3/28 & 4/28). I HAVE REALLY PUT MYSELF OUT TRYING TO GET THIS PAID OFF IN A TIMELY FASHION, WITHOUT HAVING IT AFFECT MINE AND MY DAUGHTERS CREDIT. I EVEN TOOK A LOAN FROM A FAMILY MEMBER FOR THE INITIAL $20

Review: This company is reporting on my credit report for "Regency." I have absolutely no connection and they has refused to provide me any information. This does not belong to me!Desired Settlement: Debt removal from all 3 credit reports!

Review: Fair Collections & Outsourcing is reporting an invalidated, unverified account onto my credit file. This is a violation of FDCPA and FCRA law. The account # being disputed is: [redacted]

My SSN is [redacted] . Please be advised that this is not a refusal to pay, but a request for validation made pursuant to the FDCPA. This is NOT a request for verification that you have my personal information on file (mailing address, ssn, etc), or one for your company to send me a statement claiming I owe an arbitrary amount, but a request for PROPER validation of the account; that is, competent evidence that I have some contractual obligation to pay you, such as:

1.) copy of the original signed documents from the original creditor

2.) copies of statements from the original creditor

3.) copies of any papers that show I agreed to pay what you say I owe

4) proof that your company owns the debt

If any further collection activity is taken by your company during this validation period, I will proceed forward with legal action. This includes any reporting to a credit bureau that could be inaccurate or invalidated, or verifying an account as accurate when in fact there's no provided proof that it is. If your offices fail to respond to this request within 30 days with proper validation, then all references to this account must be deleted and completely removed from my credit file. If sufficient validation is not provided, or the account is not removed, then in addition to legal action I will also issue complaints against your company with the FTC Consumer Response Center, Maryland State Attorney General's office, and the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau.Desired Settlement: Immediate removal of the account from all credit reporting agencies

Review: In January 2013 I found out from the credit reporting bureaus [redacted] and [redacted] that there was a negative account under "Fair Collections and Outsourcing". I have sent a number of letters to this company and to the credit bureaus who deferred me to the company. Fair Collections and Outsourcing has failed to provide any legal validation in accordance with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. They have however, sent letters offering a settlement. I am not paying for an account that isn't mine. I have never lived nor set foot in this housing complex and during the time of this alleged debt I was living in [redacted] Florida in very different apartment complex. I am seeking proof that this debt is mine with valid legal proof not just a piece of paper with the name [redacted] and a address on it. I have sent several letters, including notarized formal validation letters seeking this verification and to this date Fair collections & Outsourcing has failed to provide this information. Fair Collections is clearly in violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and I will have no choice but to seek legal action against this company for the practices if the issue isn't resolved immediately.

Finally, unless this documentation can be provided, Fair Collections and Outsourcing shall immediately remove this account from all three (3) credit reports and shall be subject to any and all costs, including attorneys fees, should I pursue this matter further. I cannot believe the amount of time I've had to spend over almost a year trying to get this removed.Desired Settlement: Finally, unless this documentation can be provided, Fair Collections and Outsourcing shall immediately remove this account from all three (3) credit reports and shall be subject to any and all costs, including attorneys fees, should I pursue this matter further.
