in May of 2014 regarding her loans and spoke to one of our Advisors. She actually contracted with us on June 23rd, 2014 not in October as she stated in the complaint. The client continuously postponed payments which delays the process for her consolidation on our end and the client was communicated of this issue. When our office tried contacting her, she was unresponsive via phone calls and us mail. The client also stated that she spoke with [redacted] in early November and unfortunately [redacted] has not been with our company since October. We tried contacting the client in October regarding past due payments and documentation still not provided by the client only to not get through, other than leaving a message with a family member. Our collections agent finally was able to speak to the client on December 9th , 2014 regarding collections and she decided upon cancellation and request for refund. Upon further review of this file we have determined that based off of the multitude times of client unresponsiveness and policies of our documentation sent out to client (Clearly noted in the contract), we have regrettably denied for her request for refund. Thank you kindly for your time. Best Regards, [redacted]Student Loan Lead Processor[redacted]1Toll Free Ext: [redacted] Direct line[redacted] Fax202 Fashion Lane #207Tustin, CA 92780[redacted]www.federalstudentloanalliance.com

Hi [redacted],

Below please look at the record of transactions posted for [redacted].  I believe her last contact was in regards to us not having refunded the amounts we had said we did.    The refunds were issued I just believe it was not reflecting on her account as soon as she expected it to.  However the refunds were issued on the dates promised.

customer not entitled to refund

Client was advised that the process would not start until she was out of school. The documents provided is the consolidation that was pushed forward and submitted. Through the process, it is indicated that the consolidation would wait til she was out of school. The client took upon herself,at some...

point in time after the correspondence on 03/07/2014, to speak to the Servicer herself to change whatever we had put in place for her best interest. We did service the client as specified in our contract, however client interfered by changing route of correspondence designated to return to us. She is still eligible for programs that the Servicer may not inform her about. Please see attached documents and contract were we serviced the client as stated in the contract.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
When I called the Federal Student Loan Alliance, I was specifically told to consolidate now so I could start making payments while in school. When I called the Servicer, they canceled the consolidation because I am still in school, and informed me that I was charged for a free process. I was then referred to the Revdex.com. They told me my loans could not stay "in process" until my graduation in December.  I spoke to them because that is where my loans were being processed and I was no longer getting any assistance from the Federal Student Loan Alliance. Because the process never went through, a refund is ideal.

Review: Last year, I contacted FSLA to get information about the loan forgiveness program. They said that the company I worked for did qualify so I decided to work with them for this. They had my bank account information because I had to pay them. Come to find out, my company did not qualify and I do not need to pay anyone for the loan forgiveness program so I requested a refund. I finally got a refund after a couple weeks of trying to get in touch with them. I checked my bank account last week and noticed that they took $29 from my account for the month of February 2015 and $29 for the month of March 2015. The first time I called, someone answered and said it was the fee they charge for consolidating loans. He did not even know my name when he told me they consolidated my loans. He ensured that someone would call me back in one hour. Since then, I have left multiple voicemails and sent emails and no one will return my phone calls. I changed by bank account yesterday because I could not resolve this with them over the phone or email. I still need them to contact me so I can get my money refunded and I need them to delete all of my personal information since they have nothing to do with my loans. I have been calling every day for at least one week now and no response. I informed them that I was going to change my bank account and contact the Revdex.com via voicemail and email.Desired Settlement: I would like a check sent to my house for the amount they have taken from me (total of $58.00). FSLA alliance will not be able to refund my account since I changed my bank account.

Review: I signed up with Federal Student Loan Alliance back in July of 2014. I was told that based on my information my students loan payment would be decreased by $300.00 per month. I signed up and waited, and waited, and waited. Over the course of seven months, Federal Student Loan Alliance has withdrawn $600.25 from my account. During the "processing" process, I would call and not get answers or results. If I talked to someone, they assured me that it was because of employment turn over and that they would complete the processing of my paperwork. This went on for months and months. I talked to the owner Jeff several times. Again he promised me he would take care of the processing. I finally had to call my Bank and stop payment. Please be aware that the company can change names and still withdrawl from your account. They did this in Semptember. There were months where they withdrew their monthy fees twice. I have all the documentation to back everything up including Jeff's cell phone number, bank statements, emails, and phone records. I had to take matters into my own hands and accomplished the reconsolidation with the government. They were over $100.00 off on the repayment. I want my money back. No one should ever sign up with this company. It is theivery to take that much money, promise a service and never follow thru. I want my money returned in the amount of $699.25. I am prepared to take legal action if the money is not returned.Desired Settlement: I want my $699.25 dollars that they have taken from me and failed to provide service.

Review: federal loan alliance a company from Tustin, Ca. Made me believe that they will assist with me with lowering my student loan payments. I signed a contract stating that if they didn't provide me with services that I will get a 100% refund. They made me call fedloan servicing (my fedloan loaner) for college to defer to assist me with filling out the income based application, yet they never got back to me. Made me pay maintenance fees costing me over 600.00 and additional 29.00 fees for their service that was never provided. I tried calling and spoke to four people steven, tina, john and cindy. When I ask and question the contract and when I will be recieving my refund for no service provided. They hung up and now all phones are disconnected, putting me in a more financial burden with my student loans.Desired Settlement: I would like my refund for the reason of no services being provided and no one ever assisting me with the responsibility and not following the contract I had signed.

Review: I signed up with Federal Student Loan Alliance to take advantage of the Student Loan Forgiveness and/ or consolidation programs available. I was clearly told that I was elligible by the representative that I was initially speaking with and proceeded to sign the paperwork and any documents required. I even signed a temporary power of attorney. I was also charged over $500 and monthly charges of $29 in addition 2 times now. I was told by the processor that they had everything they needed and it might take 5 months to actually complete the process. A week later I got a notice directly from the Dept. of Education that my loans were consolidated. This was done with no help at all of Federal Student Loan Alliance. I have been calling in request of why they have not worked on my loans and I've left numerous email messages for the processing agent. The numbers are "temporarily" out of service is the message I receive. I am under the impression that I have been scammed.Desired Settlement: My desired outcome would be all the money charged refunded to me. They did not deliver on anything they promised and cut communications as soon as they got their payment money. If this company isn't already shut down they should definitely be investigated.

Review: FSLA asked for money to handle federal student loan payments to Great Lakes Student Loans, and got me a 3 month deferment on loan payments so that they could handle paperwork to set up payments under the Income Based Payment plan or IBR. I paid them $400 upfront for their services. I asked questions of Paul Barbosa and his answers made him sound knowledgeable of the student loan repayment process.Desired Settlement: Give me money back.

Review: I worked with Federal Student Loan Alliance who staged as an [redacted] approved alliance who could reduce my student loan debt. They stated my case would open after I paid 10% of my student loan debt to them. They seemed legit. I spent a lot of time with them going over logistics and how it worked. I paid $412 each month for four months and fell for the scam.

I'm out around $1600 and my "case" was never opened. I cannot get through to them via email and both phone numbers I have for them are disconnected. The business doesn't seem to exist longer.Desired Settlement: I would like the $1648 I paid to FSLA refunded. I work hard and don't make a lot of money.

Review: Federal Student Loan Alliance informed me over the phone and through a contract that they would be able to help me with repaying my student loans. By doing so they would get me a low monthly payment of about $90 a month. In order to do this they charged a one time enrollment fee of $595. Since then they have not done anything and I've been getting bills from another company of about $400 a month. I have the contract that was signed along with any emails and phone calls that were shared between FSLA and I.Desired Settlement: I would like to receive the one time enrollment fee of $595 back as they were not able to do as promised.

Review: This company charged me $800.00 to join a program that was suppose to consolidate and reduce my monthly payments on my Federal Student Loans, plus $25.00 a month for maintenance fees, for a total of 1400,00 . The consolidation was done, but the payment reduction was not done as promised and I ended up with a monthly payment of $794.00, which I was not able to afford since I was laid off and I was on unemployment. Student Loan Alliance sold my loans to a servicer FedLoan Services and I was able to apply for IBR (Income Based Repayment) for the first year. This year it was time to re-apply and FedLoan Services denied my application for IBR, so I contacted Federal Student Loan Alliance to see what I could do and the company doesn't even exist; the phone numbers are not in service, and is no way to get in contact with them. I have looked in several areas of the internet and found them as a Scam and that apparently the company went out of business. These people should be stop from doing these. I see it was many other people that got Scam by them for diffwerent amounts than me , but the do have the same complaint.Desired Settlement: Get my money back and stop these individuals from ripping people off and comitting fraud, as well as taking advantage of so many of us Americans trying to repay this high interest student loans.
