Federal Student Loan Alliance Reviews (105)

Review: Federal Student Loan Alliance assured me if I was not satisfied with their service I had a 100% money back guarantee. The company was extremely difficult to contact and when I did finally reach someone, they were not informed of my personal situation. They told me I should consolidate my loans, they gave my a very low monthly payment estimate and then began taking their "fees" out of my account. It turns out my loans were already consolidated by me several years ago, had they known anything about my situation, they would have known this. I then asked for my money back and I was told I had another option. Once again, I had to pursue them to find out the steps to take to qualify for a lower student loan payment. After several attempts I gave up and asked to discontinue again, requesting my money back. They then called me and asked for my new credit account number so that they could refund fees. When I called back they told me I owed them more money. I made 3 of the four payments. They "allowed" me to discontinue, but will not refund my money. In fact, they changed the int-ital fees and added a 5th payment.Desired Settlement: I want my fee of 3 payments of $223.75 which equal $617.25

Good Morning [redacted], I am forwarding you the e-mail sent to Mrs. [redacted] in regards to the ineligibility and denial of her refund request. Mrs. [redacted] has been a very unpleasant client to deal with and continues the persistence of her request for refunds. Her student loans were successfully consolidated on November 11, 2014 by our company. We are able to pull documentation from the DOE if necessary. Mrs. [redacted] was a client since August 2014 she contracted our services for an enrollment fee of $895.00. Of her contracted enrollment fee only 2 payments cleared an her balance for half of this enrollment fee is in collections. We have waived the NSF fees charged to our account due to her bouncing scheduled payments. As explained in the e-mail below our company completed the work for her file. Discrepancies began upon her inaccurate disclosure of income and we still were able to help her thru it. Mrs. [redacted] cancelled when our collections department began making contact with her in regards to the amount she owed. As an extended courtesy we had decided not to forward her delinquent account to our collections agency to avoid negative credit reporting on her credit score. Our company stands in the decision made and will not be issuing any type of refunds to her. Please let me know if you have any questions or if there’s any documentation I need to submit to clarify our case. I thank you in advance for your time and cooperation. Happy Holidays!!! Review: Federal Student Loan Alliance was taking money out of my account each month (I say was because I have stopped payment and I will tell you why) I was led to believe that if I paid them this particular fee ($29.00) each month that my loans would be paid off within 10 years. Come to find out they just charge this fee to hand my loans over to someone else. Another company, a reputable one, is now handling my loans, but FSLA was still expecting me to pay them this fee each month. When I figured out what was going on I tried to call the company to resolve the issue but every number I have tried has been disconnected. I have stopped payment on the fee each month because I feel I have good reason. Does this company even exist anymore? I have been trying to call for a few weeks now with no answer. They also took an enrollment fee from me at the beginning for $495.00. I just expect to be treated fairly.Desired Settlement: If possible I would like to be reimbursed for the money I have paid to Federal Student Loan Alliance because I feel like they took my money without being honest as to what it was paying for. I paid the $495.00 and have paid the $29.00 once a month from November to April I would also like it if I am not penalized (charged a fee) for the stop payment on the $29.00 each month. I felt I had good reason to stop this money from coming out.

Review: Company advertises help with student loans. During my consultation with the sales rep. I was told I would meet the requirements and decided to sign up. Company collected an application fee of $495.00 in 4 installment payments. They would proceed with application process once first payment was received. Once last payment is received you would then be in a program that allows for you to pay off loan in a faster amount of time. Also, once your loan is converted to the new program, the company would then charge you a maintenance fee of $29.00 a month. My first payment was in May that would initiate the process. My last payment in August. In September I saw the first maint. fee come out of my bank account. I assumed all was in place with the new program but never received an official notification like company said I would. So I called to verify and found out my paperwork was never processed. The lady handling up and quit and left everything she was working on is disarray. So the new rep began the process again. October comes around and monthly payment comes out again. I again called and talked to the processor who called my current student loan and found out they did not submit correct paper work. I requested at time not to charge me a monthly fee until I was actively on a program. Common sense right? Well November comes around and again nothing but I get charged. Called again and they called my current student loan holder again and found out I DID NOT QUALIFY for a program based on my income. Something that should have been figured out before they ever collected money from me. Finally in December I called to complain and they agreed to refund me full amount for origination fee and all past monthly fees. That was in December. It was suppose to be 30 days to process. In Feb. I called again got another excuse. Still yet to receive a refund and company has been not responsive to my inquires both by email and phone.Desired Settlement: $495.00 for application fee$29 x 5 monthly payment = $145Total refund of $640.00I have an email from this company stating the same amount above. Should have received my refund by March 8th based on last communication with their processor. Since then they are not returning my calls or replying to my emails. Please help me get my refund back

Review: I contacted the website because I thought it was a legitimate government website. It was not and they asked for my pin number and social security number.I realized when I went onto a legitimate government website for student loans that the other website was a commercial website. The gentleman at the government website said if I wanted to file a complaint to go online to the Revdex.com.Desired Settlement: I changed my pin number on the student loan government website but the commercial website has my social security number.I want to ensure that it will not be used in any way.

Review: Several months ago I joined FSLA, the intention was for them to consolidate my federal student loans & in net lower my monthly payments. In return, I was to pay an enrollment fee over a 4 month period. Money is tight which was discussed before I joined, I was promised someone from FSLA would quickly contact me to get on the phone with my current loans and ensure deferment on payments took place until consolidation was complete. This was in an effort to help me afford the enrollment payments, I was also promised the process would move quickly and I'd be kept updated, and I was promised if I was not satisfied I could get my money back. Weeks after joining, I finally received a phone call from an associate to start the process; we scheduled an appointment but no contact was made. I continued to follow-up to reach someone for assistance in consolidating my loans and get help to defer payments with my current company. Over the course of months & numerous attempts and emails sent directly to the person who enrolled me, I finally received contact from [redacted] instead. She admitted that there had been some turnover and promised it would go better. Unfortunately, the result was the same, it takes multiple emails, voice-mails, and messages left with associates through the main line to even have [redacted] contact me at all. After dealing with this for months now and in worse financial state, I finally decided to cancel my account; even that took multiple attempts until finally I got a response from Thu. Thu is also making promises to expedite, unfortunately I've already lost all confidence in FSLA at this point and decided the best decision for me is to cancel. Sadly, the entire reason I signed up for this program was to be aid to my current financial situation but has only made things worse and wasted a lot of time for no gain. I joined over 3 months ago, made 3 payments of $123.75 which I'm now told is not refundable, and have not had progress on deferment or consolidation.Desired Settlement: I'm under the impression my account is being canceled but I would like to receive confirmation that my account has been canceled, thus no further charges, and be refunded for the 3 payments of $123.75 which I was promised could be returned if not satisfied but then recently retracted. Seems I was told a refund is fine before joining but statement was changed after the lack of service.

I am forwarding you the e-mail sent to [redacted]. Upon reviewing his file I went ahead and provided him with a full refund of $[redacted]. We had a pleasant conversation and he seemed content with the outcome. I did apologize on behalf of the company for the human errors and the lack of communication that occurred in his case.

I hope this helps resolve this complaint. Please let me know if you need any more information in regards to this.

Federal Student Loan Alliance

Review: On 9/15/2014 I signed a contract with the Federal Student Loan Alliance with the hopes that I would be enrolled in the public service loan forgiveness program. I spoke with [redacted] over the phone and communicated through email to set this up.

Unfortunately, none of the paper work has been filed for me and the agent who was responsible for my account is no longer with your company. I was deceived by this agent into signing a contract with your company and paying a large fee. The agent, [redacted], made several false statements over the phone and in emails to coerce me into signing the contract. One such false statement was that he assured me that I would qualify for the loan forgiveness program even though I am a teacher at a for profit private school. After some research, I now know that this is not true.

Also, I was never asked for any of the proper paperwork such as limited power of attorney or public service employment verification. I have made several attempts to contact your company and after days and numerous calls and emails.Desired Settlement: To resolve the problem, I would appreciate your company returning the $495 processing fee that I paid. Also, the $29 fee that was charged on Jan 5th should be refunded. I would also like my account canceled and feel that I should not incur any other fees for termination as no service has been performed.

Review: I first contact FSLA in October of 2014 for assistance with paying off student loan debt. Terms of the automatic draft for the initial start up fee were discussed with the point of contact I had, [redacted]. Several weeks passed and I had not heard anything from the company after agreeing to join the program. The first issue I had with FSLA was an unauthorized debit resulting in a insufficient funds fee from my bank. This charge was not within the agreed upon schedule. When I contacted [redacted] I was told that because the previous draft had not gone through the company decided to go ahead and withdraw the next payment early. I was instructed to provide [redacted] with a screen shot of my bank statement showing the NSF fee and she would have someone contact me regarding reimbursement of the NSF fee. This was in early November. I have not been contacted by anyone at Federal Student Loan Alliance and the NSF has not been returned to me. Several more weeks went by and I sent Ms. [redacted] an email inquiring about the same issue. She told me the point of contact person was in accounting, [redacted]. I have attempted to contact [redacted] several times and left several messages none of which have been returned. Now in mid December I was contacted by a worker at FSLA, [redacted] wanting to work on my account. FSLA to date has over $500 of my money and I have not received any services from them. I explained to [redacted] that I was no longer interested in doing business with FSLA and that I wanted my money back. He told me [redacted] would be handling my refund, that it would take 7- 10 days before I would receive my money. That was on 12/18/2014. I attempted to contact Johanna and have yet to get anything more than a voice mail with messages left unreturned. I contacted [redacted] on 12/25 via email and stated that if I did not hear from someone at FSLA by 1/2/2015 I would be filing a complaint with the Revdex.com. I want a full refund of the money I have paid in as soon as possible.Desired Settlement: Since I have not heard from anyone from Federal Student Loan Alliance I feel they have stolen my money. I only want what I have paid to them for services that have never been rendered. I have even tried to contact FSLA today before filing this complaint I can only get a recorded message saying no one is available to take my call. Please help me get my money back. I am a single mom trying to make ends meet and do not have that amount of money to just throw away.

---------- Forwarded message ----------From: [redacted] <[redacted]>Date: Wed, Jan 21, 2015 at 4:01 PMSubject: Ref: ID #[redacted]To: [email protected] whom it may concern, [redacted] originally contacted us in May of 2014 regarding her loans and spoke to one of our Advisors. She actually contracted with us on June 23rd, 2014 not in October as she stated in the complaint. The client continuously postponed payments which delays the process for her consolidation on our end and the client was communicated of this issue. When our office tried contacting her, she was unresponsive via phone calls and us mail. The client also stated that she spoke with [redacted] in early November and unfortunately [redacted] has not been with our company since October. We tried contacting the client in October regarding past due payments and documentation still not provided by the client only to not get through, other than leaving a message with a family member. Our collections agent finally was able to speak to the client on December 9th , 2014 regarding collections and she decided upon cancellation and request for refund. Upon further review of this file we have determined that based off of the multitude times of client unresponsiveness and policies of our documentation sent out to client (Clearly noted in the contract), we have regrettably denied for her request for refund. Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID[redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I may have gotten dates wrong in my original communications, however there are still inaccuracies and untruths that remain. I was contacted by [redacted] on June 11, after an initial phone conversation. On June 15 I responded to that email saying I was unable to come up with the start up fee. On June 16th she responded that the sooner I completed the start up fee the sooner I would begin the new payment structure to my student loan creditors. The contract for services was returned signed by me on June 24. One full month went by without any communications for myself or [redacted]. Then on August 22, I received a message from Ms [redacted] stating she had left me a message regarding continuing with the program. I responded to her and on August 28 regarding changes to the scheduled auto withdraw of payments. I had to reset the withdraw because I was continuing to have difficulty managing the fees. After that I contacted Ms. [redacted] on September 10, due to FSLA presenting to my bank an unauthorized payment for fees. This presentation for payment was not authorized by me and created a negative balance and fees from my bank. I followed up with an email to [redacted] and I provided a screen shot of my bank statement showing the negative balance and awaited resolution. In a follow up email on September 11, I was provided a name, Johana and a direct phone number to contact Johana if I had any questions about the refund of NSF fees. I attempted to call Johana but never was able to make contact with her and she never returned any of my calls. I need to say that my bank honored the draft from the account even though there was insufficient funds. So by this time I have already paid in to the scam $530, and FSLA has failed to respond to me timely, has withdrawn money without permission and has added to my financial burdens instead of helping me. I at this point, was frustrated and no longer wished to continue my relationship[ with FSLA because of their lack of professionalism and poor business practices. They from the very start neglected the terms of the contract I entered into. But foolishly on my part continued to honor my word. On October 9 I received an email in response to phone messages I left for Ms. [redacted] with an attachment from [redacted], stating that the last payment of fee did not clear the bank. I contacted my bank and they told me no such payment had presented from any company in the amount set forth. The company, FSLA never presented the payment but wanted to create a story that they did. I returned an email on October 13, detailing again what my bank told me and that I had not yet, to this point received resolution about the NSF reimbursement from the last time, one month prior, FSLA didn't do what they were suppose to do. But I was just told that nothing had been received. So I resent the screen shot via email on October 14 and waited. I never received any communications form anyone, even though Ms [redacted] indicated in her response to the October 14 email that I would. Nothing else occurred during the next few weeks. Then on December 9, a person representing FSLA, Daniel called my home to discuss payments. When I began to detail my plight and dissatisfaction with FSLA he started telling me of unreturned phone messages, of which I rebuke as total lies. Not only do I have voicemail services through my phone carrier, I have an answering machine. I think the above details show a willingness to communicate with FSLA. It was during this conversation that [redacted] told me I would receive a full refund of the money I had paid in to date, $530. He went further to day it would take 5 to 7 days to process my refund and went so far as to give me the name of the person that would be in charge of processing the refund. [redacted], her direct number [redacted]. I began calling her as soon as I hung up with [redacted] and continued every day I was not at work and never was able to get a return call or an email. One day I called and instead of getting a voicemail, I got a automated message that no one was available to take my call and then the call was disconnected without further instructions for assistance. Subsequently, because I refuse to accept subpar service now they want to punish me and steal my money for bringing to light their unethical practices. Second I was never informed that Ms. [redacted] no longer worked for the company as I continued to email her. I have never received a phone call, letter or email form anyone that another employee of FSLA would be working with me and my account. I assume that when an employees leaves another takes their place and resumes business. Yet this did not happen in my case. I think it is because FSLA knows they have misrepresented themselves. IF FSLA is in the business of collecting money and then not rendering services then they are criminals and thieves praying on people looking for help to pay bills and become more financially stable. My plight and difficulty with finances was evident from the very first interactions and there was never any mention that a delay would result in retaining my money. Likewise, there was every indication on the part of the representative of FSLA that I was in communications with, [redacted], that an effort would be made to correct mistakes on the part of FSLA, which included refunding money to me. That never happened. FSLA contests that correspondence was sent to my home, which I never received and phone calls that were never returned, but as states within this response I have proven that I am willing to respond when contacted. I should have been contacted by a new counselor when, if Ms [redacted] was no longer working for FSLA, and this issue would have been put to rest long before now. But the fact remains Ms [redacted] admitted to mishandling of my case and did attempt to make it right but nothing came of it. I just want what is owed to me. I can not afford to give away that kind of money and not receive anything in return. FSLA has failed to prove that they provided any service to me that would justify them keeping my money.

Below I have provided copies of emails between myself and my only official contact person at FSLA as well as the copy of the screen shot of the unauthorized draft NSF fee transaction. This is again proof that I am sincere in my request and am only asking for what is mine. I have furthermore proven that FSLA has failed to satisfy or guarantee their services as the claim insist. Yet once they hooked me and began to receive my money I was no longer of use. Please assist me in reclaiming my money so that I may begin to work with my creditors to satisfy my debts. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Review: Federal Student Loan alliance will not return any phone calls or emails. After negotiating a loan consolidation, they have never issued appropriate paperwork or data. Their services seem to be a complete scam.Desired Settlement: I would like my account, false contract and information with Federal Student Loan Alliance to be terminated. I will be contacting the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau immediately.

Review: I hired this company a year ago to consolidate my government student loans for the loan forgiveness program. At the end of each year, I am supposed to renew my income and information with them. I have tried contacting them, my mother(who has permission to handle this also) has left numerous messages and emails and faxes to contact us. They have not answered any calls, emails or faxes. I paid them nearly $700.00 initially to consolidate and then $29.00 each month is taken out of my checking. After a research recently I am finding out that this company is notorious for doing this and not returning any calls but still charging you for their service and we are not getting any service. Their turn around with employees over the year is numerous and I never know whom to speak to or call, but these last few weeks NO ONE has returned anything from this place. I have also researched and I am finding the same complaints. I am faxing over today a cancellation and will be asking my bank to stop all payments to them. I spoke to Federal Loan(who has my loans) and they said this is a recurring problem with places like this. So, I would like to know if you can check into this and also report to them that I no longer will be paying them and would like my money back if possible? Or at the very least, let them know they are a scam company and need to shut down. I see so many complaints lately of this company and also on their facebook page it seems to be the same problem with other clients of theirs. I wonder if this company has closed but still taking out my money? Either way, I am sending a fax to alert them I am cancelling them and also to have my bank stop payments from April forwards. Thank youI was also told I should contact you for this complaint.Desired Settlement: Written notice that our contract is null and void and also a refund for services not rendered as promised

Review: FSLA contacted me with offers to consolidate my student loans. They explicitly said that they could enroll me in a program that would allow me to make low payments for 10 years, and any debt left after the 10 years would be forgiven. I gave my information and they put together some ball park numbers. I said I would continue and if they could do what they promised, I would sign up. After sending paperwork for me to sign with no hard figures or anything in writing about loan forgiveness after 10 years, I called and they reassured me that all that would be in the final paperwork once I submitted these forms allowing them to set up the plan. I later got a statement that showed a payment more than $100 over what they quoted, and barely any less than the standard payment. When I called about the forgiveness after 10 years, the agent I had initially signed up with was no longer with the company, and the agent I had been assigned to told me I was not eligible for that program. When I asked to cancel my enrollment, I was told I had already agreed to the program and could not get my money back. I told her I had signed no such agreement. After a few weeks of arguing, I was sent a copy of the paperwork where I had ‘agreed’ to the conditions and saw they had forged my signature. It was in no way anything I had ever seen or signed. They still would not allow me to cancel the program or refund any of the $600 I had paid them. Not having the funds to hire a lawyer, and feeling that it would cost me more to seek legal action, I decided to let things be.

Since then I have been paying the $25 a month fee (another piece of information they never informed me of before I signed paperwork) along with my loan payment that barely even saves me the $25. So no benefit to me as they had promised, but I did not see there was much I could do. They had lied and cheated me but perhaps I had been too trusting of dishonest people. However, I recently discovered they failed to file any paperwork (which is part of the agreement and why I pay the service fee) with my student loan company causing me to miss the window to continue my income based repayment plan. This has resulted in a payment being double what my standard payment would have been without FSLA and having to refile all of my paperwork. Furthermore, they continue to debit my checking account for the wrong amount leaving me in the dark as to whether I need to make separate payments to my student loans, or how much. Nobody will return my calls and I have no way of stopping or changing the payment.Desired Settlement: This company requires power of attorney over my loans and they are the ‘contact’ so all correspondences go to them. They received all of the notifications regarding what I needed to do to remain on my current payment plan. Efforts to contact them about this matter have gone unresolved, and now it looks like they have disconnected their phones. I would like a refund of the $600 I paid, and any future payments cancelled. Furthermore, the monthly service fee that I pay shows on my credit report as a loan payment. The loan amount is the total amount to be paid after 5 years of $25 monthly payments, so along with the payments stopped but the “loan” that shows on my credit report either gone or reflect paid in full.

Review: I was working with this company to consolidate my student loans, I was to make a payment of 658 dollars split up into to payments. I was told my loans were in default and they could help prevent garnishment of my wages. Well my wages are being garnished, I calle and demanded my money back, was actually talked out of it. Was told I would get some paper work in the mail TO FILL OUT AND GET THE PROCESS STARTED. NO PAPER WORK. I CANCELED THE SECOND PAYMENT. HAVE CALLE THIS COMPANY SEVERAL TIMES WITH NO RETURN CALL, YOU CAN NEVER SPEAK TO A PERSON ALWAYS GOES STRAIGHT TO VOICE MAIL. I DO NOT WANT TO DO BUSINESS WITH THEM, I WANT MY 347 DOLLARS RETURNED.Desired Settlement: I WANT MY MONEY BACK

Hello,

Review: I have been trying to make contact with someone at this company for several weeks now. They have failed to provide me with the status of my account and have been taking a "maintenance fee" from my account monthly and not doing any work towards my loan consolidation for several months now. They took an extra unauthorized fee from my account last month and have not reimbursed me or returned my calls or emails.Desired Settlement: Refund of my unauthorized fee and termination of services with them.

Review: I first contacted FSLA in August 2013 in hopes they could help me with my student loan debt. I first spoke to [redacted] who seemed to be very helpful at the time. She went over the services with me. I was told by both [redacted] and [redacted] Hannah that I was eligible for a government program that would reduce my student loan payment to $0 due to my employment status and gross income at that time. I was also told that since they were going to be servicing my loan and taking care of the government paperwork to get this completed, that I would pay them a service fee of $29 per month (direct debit from my account). I was also asked to pay an upfront fee of $200 which I also did at that time. I was under the impression (per many coversations with [redacted] and [redacted]) that they were going to be servicing my loan! In Sept 2013 we were getting down to the wire of when my $152.13 student loan payment was due, and still nothing had been handled by FSLA ([redacted] was the processor). I called her many times before receiving a return call, and when she did call me back, she told me I needed to call AES (my loan provider), and put my loan in deferrment. I was told by [redacted] that we would just refer for a month or so until all the paperowrk was completed to get my Income Based Payment of $0 approved! This was never taken care of. I was charged $29/month for a total of 12 months by FSLA while my loan was in my deferrment. FSLA was NOT servicing my loan in any way, and when I would call to follow up, I was told it was being handled or my call was simply not returned. Finally, in Sept 2014 I called since a year had gone by to see if my loan ever entered into the Income Based Payment, since my deferrment was up with AES. I spoke to a woman named Chris, and she looked at my file and told me I Never did qualify for their IBR plan. I paid $548 to FSLA. I was mislead to believe they were going to help me, but instead I was scammed! Now no one returns calls or emails!Desired Settlement: I would like the $548 cash returned to me right away! I was lied to, scammed and taken advantage of. I never qualified for their program but was lead to believe that I did. Calls and emails go totally ignored now that I am requesting money back. I received the worst customer service ever by this company.

Review: I have tried to email and call the company. The phone number is out of order and there are no responses to numerous emails sent. The company continues to withdrawn money from my account and I feel like I am being scammed out of the help I was suppose to be receiving for my student loans. I feel like I need to end my business with this company and they have all my banking information and my SS#. I can't get ahold of anyone and I need answers and help with getting this issue fixed. I can't afford to be having money stolen from me and I also need help with my student loans. Please help me find out what is happening with this company. If they are even really a company for helping with student loads. I was told by them that I would be placed into a program for helping teachers repaying their student loans and then after 10 years whatever balance remained would be forgiven. I have been paying them for about 1 year and now that everything is up for a renewal I'm getting emails from the fedloan servicing government office that seem like they never even put me into the correct program. I need to fix this issue. Thank you.Desired Settlement: If they really are a true company for student loan help then I need them to contact me to finish the job I hired them to do to actually help me with my student loan repayment program. Otherwise, I want a refund of ALL my money collected by them and to be able to not be punished by the government for putting me into this situation and fix me student loans. I really want them to have to compensate me for a whole year of acquired interest into me loans that I have had placed into my account for them misguiding me. I feel I should be compensated for their misdoings and granted a settlement amount of money that I can then use to pay the balance of my student loans with. My desired outcome is to be able to fix the whole situation and be on the correct path for my student loan repayment.

Review: A few years ago I started using FSLA service in order to decrease my monthly student loan payment by filing for an income based repayment program that Obama had passed. It was useful for a time but for about a year I have been paying and working with Navient, the company that the federal board of education uses for income based repayments for federal student loans. I have been trying to cancel my business with FSLA for about 6 months and the number is always "temporarily out of service". I don't see why I have to continue paying the $29/month maintenance fee if there is in fact no service being handled for me since I have been dealing with navient directly. I would like these monthly payments to stop and a refund check for at least the past 6 months.Desired Settlement: I would like these monthly payments to stop and a refund check for at least the past 6 months.

Review: I completed a Federal Student Loan Alliance form to hire the company to help me with my students loans. I have made four payments of $82.50 and to date the company has not fulfilled its requirements. I spoke with [redacted] on December 8, 2014 because I was receiving letters from Stafford loans that my payments were to begin in January 2015. The woman said that she would get the matter fixed; however, she emailed me another clients documents and couldn't find my forms. She sent me [redacted] file, SS#xxx-xx-xxxx. I believe that this is a violation of this woman's confidential information.I spoke with Stafford loans and was emailed a form to complete. This form was supposed to be completed August 14, 2014 by the Federal Student Loan Alliance; yet, I completed it and submitted it to Stafford loans.Desired Settlement: I would like to have the money returned to me that I paid, because the company did not provide the service that they requested.

Response:

Federal Student Loan Alliance fully accepts the responsibility of the mishandling of the file mentioned below. The client did in fact receive the incorrect documentation. Upon becoming aware FSLA immediately contacted the other party involved. [redacted] accepted the apology and understood the human error that occurred. Our company has in fact undergone many positive changes, unfortunately thru the process [redacted] file was not handled in a timely manner. For this reason we have gone ahead and issued a refund for the 3 payments made of $82.50 each totaling $247.50. of the client feels this amount is incorrect I prompt him to e-mail me copy of the transaction in question as our system only reflects 3. The authorization number for the refund is [redacted]. As of today the availability and reflection of funds on [redacted] account will be solely up to his banking institution, once the transaction has been completed on our end we have absolutely no control.

Review: I signed up believing this company would help consolidate my loans and help me get out of debt that I owned the people seemed nice and professional.I later realize this company is reviewed over the internet as a scamming company they charged me $465.00 to pay up front to consolidate my debt and assured me that the dept of education is aware of my debt being consolidated and being paid thru them. I found out 03/21/2014 that my bank had froze my account due to this company being alerted as a scamming company they withdrew $165 in feb 2014 without even making me aware that they would withdraw the funds also they withdrew $165 on 03/21/2014 these people are definitely scammers I called 03/21/2014 and they had no idea who I was or why I was calling an was very unprofessional how the man answer the phone.Def beware of who you do business with when dealing with your loans and any consolidating of your loans. Especially of [redacted] who posed as a this person who wanted to help me clear my debt with the obama new forgiveness program sounded way to good and I went above my better judgement never again this is the worst scam everDesired Settlement: Im disputing the withdrawals with my Bank and they will handle this matter with investigating the matter at hand due to this being suspicious and raised a Alert on my acct

Review: On 9/15/2014 I signed a contract with the Federal Student Loan Alliance with the hopes that I would be enrolled in the public service loan forgiveness program. I spoke with [redacted] over the phone and communicated through email to set this up.

Unfortunately, none of the paper work has been filed for me and the agent who was responsible for my account is no longer with the company. I was deceived by this agent into signing a contract with the company and paying a large fee. The agent, [redacted], made several false statements over the phone and in emails to coerce me into signing the contract.

Also, I was never asked for any of the proper paperwork such as limited power of attorney or public service employment verification. I have made several attempts to contact your company and after days and numerous calls and emails, I was finally able to speak with [redacted]. However, she was unable to resolve these issues.Desired Settlement: To resolve the problem, I would appreciate the company returning the $495 processing fee that I paid. I would also like my account canceled and feel that I should not incur any other fees for termination as no service has been performed.

Response:

Mrs.. [redacted]'s file was submitted for cancellation and review of refund eligibility. This process usually takes anywhere from 7-10 business days being submitted on the 12th of January makes this it's 3rd day of processing. Yes, I was able to confirm the discrepancies that unfortunately happened within her file due to the inaccuracy of our past employee [redacted]. Upon the discovery of such her case was expedited and she has been issued a complete refund in the amount of $495.00. The authorization for this transaction is [redacted]. Mrs. [redacted] is able to track the transaction with her financial institution as of this point. Once funds have left our account we have absolutely no control as to when the money will reflect credited on her account. I have typically heard of these clearing within 10 business days depending on the banking institution.Federal Student Loan Alliance is deeply apologetic in this case and assumes responsibility for the inconvenience caused to the client. A refund of her complete funds has been issued. Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID[redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Thank you for forwarding my complaint on to the Federal Student Loan Alliance. They responded saying that they would refund my money. This has not happened yet. Should I file another complaint? I have tried numerous times to contact the company and suspiciously all of the people who said I could get my money back no longer work for the "company". Is it possible to reopen my complaint?[redacted]

Review: I filled out documents stating that fsla was going to pay off student loan balance, I would pay an amount

for ten years and the balance at the end of that time would be written off. everything seemed well until

I discovered the money coming out of my account each month was not being paid on new student loan and that had not paid off previous student loan balance with fedloan servicing. I am out over 500.00 dollars and now my

credit report shows 7 late pymts on the fedloan acct they were paying off. I am u[ to date now with fedloan, but my credit is hurt badly and im out the monies... they quit answering phones and emailsDesired Settlement: I would like my monies refunded, the credit bureaus contacted so they can update, note on my account that I was a victim of fraud is why there is pymts shown late. Credit bureaus are my main objective, this has caused my auto and home insurance to increase

you help will be appreciated , thanks in advance

Review: I joined federal student loan alliance in September 2013 to consolidate my student loans and put them into the federal student loan forgiveness plan. The agreement was a 395.00 dollar one time enrollment fee and a 29.00 dollar monthly maintenance fee for 120 monthly payments. Part of that monthly 29.00 fee was to be part of the student loan forgiveness payment of which federal student loan alliance is responsible to pay to [redacted] ( [redacted]). The first year Fsla was making good on those payments. Fsla sent me renewal papers in November 2014 to reevaluate my income since the student loan forgiveness is income based. I turned in and signed all the appropriate papers and renewed my student loan forgiveness plan for 2015. As of January 2015 federal student loan alliance has not held up their end of the contract. I started receiving unpaid monthly bills from January 2015 until March of 2015 of which I have since payed out of my pocket when Fsla is responsible for this portion of the contract. I attempted to call Fsla several times and left several messages on several different mail boxes with no return calls to find out why they are not holding up to the payments on their part to [redacted]) of which is a portion of my 29.00 maintenance fee. I also spoke with [redacted] and found that Fsla [redacted]s not have me in the appropriate student loan forgiveness program. Fsla informed me that my pay back would be for 120 months of which [redacted] informed me that my payments would be for 300 months. I am asking to receive money back for not holding up to Fsla contract. It is falsification of the contract on Fsla due to the agreement that I was signed up for. I also want to discontinue this contract with Fsla permanently.Desired Settlement: Refund of 29.00 maintenance fee from January 2015 till March 2015. Out of the contract permanently from January 2015 and on for falsification of contract due to placing me into the wrong student loan forgiveness plan.
