First Choice Credit Management Reviews (%countItem)

This company has been extremely professional, helpful and very accommodating especially when I had to cancel my participation in the program due to financial difficulty in keeping up with financial commitment for them to settle my debt accounts. My case Supervisor Francis was amazing and Daniel F was extremely compassionate *** understanding when I spoke with him about my hardship and having to withdraw from their program. He gave me sound advise about how to move forward on my own and he didn't hesitate to submit to the process of refunding my monies that I had already contributed. I wish I could've continued with the program however, my circumstances made it impossible to do so. No shame was directed towards me, only compliments of who I was as a person, compassion and resolution. Thank you Francis and Daniel F for your services.

First Choice really helped me get my life back on track. When I was out of work and couldnt pay my bills, they gave me the chance to ge out of debt in a way I could afford. Even when I was struggling in the program Daniel F. and Nicole P. made sure I had the flexibility I needed to be successful. Thank yo First Choice, thank you so much.

These people are awesome! They work with you to get out of debt and get the job done.

Would like to say that they are the best at what they do I am so glad they helped me.

Lied to me about settling a debt
Told me they settled my debt so I didnt go to court. I got a letter in the mail with a judgment against me. I will be contacting my attorney. They are deceiving company. I want all my money back and I dont wanna hear any more lies.

Desired Outcome

I want my money back

First Choice Credit Management Response • Sep 12, 2019

Thank you for bringing this complaint to our attention and giving us the opportunity to address it. After reviewing this account in detail, we can see how there was some miscommunication between Ms. and the representative. We have addressed this internally to ensure we are more clear when explaining details surrounding the status of account and we thank Ms. for bringing this to our attention. We have been in communication with Ms. and believe we have resolved this matter. We processed a full refund and sincerely apologize for the confusion that led to this complaint.

Payment problem
This company has no compassion for my wife. She is a chronic asthma sufferer and also has type 2 diabetes. Tried several times to renegotiate contract terms but to no avail. I either buy wife's medication or pay first choice. Instead of trying to come up with a plan they say I should declare bankruptcy. Totally unprofessional

Desired Outcome

Want refund of money that was paid into account

First Choice Credit Management Response • Sep 12, 2019

Thank you for allowing us to address this complaint.

We are very sorry that Mr. felt that we had no compassion for his and his wife's situation. Mr. was originally enrolled in a 42-month program with a monthly payment of $350.00 per month. After making his first program payment, Mr. explained they were not able to afford the $350 payment. We were able to adjust their program to accommodate their situation and extended their program which reduced their payment down to $170.00. They made 3 payments of $170.00 inconsistently over the next 10 months with the last payment being in April.

Our programs success relies heavily on our client's ability to make on-time and consistent payments into the program. Mr. was only able to make 4 payments during the 12-month period in which he was enrolled in our program.

We feel that we've done everything we can to accommodate Mr. but this program simply does not make sense for anyone who is experiencing financially difficulty to the point of not being able to afford our minimum program payment. We explained this to Mr. and suggested that he may want to contact a bankruptcy attorney to see if that was a viable option for them.

Again, we are very sorry that Mr. felt that we lacked compassion but it is in his best interest to find an alternate way, such as Bankruptcy, to resolve their situation.

We have tried contacting Mr. several times since receiving this complaint to address his concerns directly but unfortunately have not been able to reach him. A full refund was processed immediately upon cancellation of his program.

Joan and Nicole are AMAZING at what they do. Yes I will be very honest I was very leery in the beginning calling agencies to help me but these ladies made me feel so comfortable so confident that the work was going to get done. Joanne always always stayed in contact with me throughout this whole process these ladies got in and they know what they're doing they got my credit taken care of and is helping me get reestablished I am so grateful to them for all the work that they did I would highly highly recommend these ladies in helping you

I want to thank everyone at first choice from the bottom of my heart. I was using my three credit cards to survive, and when I lose my job I had no where to turn. I could not make minimum payments, I couldnt pay rent, I was going down fast. Me and my husband heard of first choice from a friend and called them immediately. They made it very simple to me. I make my payment for 24 months, and they will settle my credit cards. This is exactly what happened, but they did it in 18 months. I want to especially thank Daniel F and Mark W for always being patient and understanding with my difficult life. Again, thank you first choice, you changed my life.

Company took about $400 in fees but never resolved any debt
I began paying First Choice $427 a month to resolve a credit union bill in Sept 2018. I contacted contacted them in March 2019 and was told there was a settlement and they would call me back. I never heard back so I called again and was told no such thing ever happened. them numerous times after that to get an update but they would only say they made an offer. I called to cancel on 5/24/19 and was told they would refund my money but would not refund the fees of about $400 Nothing was accomplished by the company and I don't feel I am liable for fees.

Desired Outcome

Refund all money paid in to the company

First Choice Credit Management Response • May 30, 2019

We spoke with Mr. and believe there was some miscommunication relayed to Mr. about the status of his account and reasonable expectations were not conveyed. Mr. was 8 months into an estimated 36-month program and although we feel that we could've still helped Mr. achieve his goals well within that timeframe, Mr. felt it would be best to cancel and handle his account on his own. A full and complete refund has been issued and we believe we have resolved Mr. concerns that led to his complaint.

Super customer service. Constant communication and dedicated reps and managers who fight for you. If you've got outstanding debt, the collectors are blowing up your phone...call them and get started. I just graduated from their program and what I owed is completely gone. I no liger have the preverbal monkey in my back.

Was a wonderful company to work with. Never did anything questionable. Made payments exactly as promised and negotiated with the companies to decrease debt. Would definitely recommend to anyone struggling with debt.

After facing over $25,000 in debt, we came to First Choice Credit Management to assist us. My wife and I were at our most vulnerable, rock bottom moment in our life with a 1 year old Autistic Child. When we first called, they made it sound so easy and so amazing. Debt free in THREE YEARS! Who could say no to that? So, we started paying them $400 a month. We decided to add a couple more debts to the list because we just couldn't keep up with those payments. Our payment went up to $450 a month. We paid it. Happily. Because ... DEBT FREE in 3 years! We kept paying. Nothing was settled. I finally get one email - congrats, we have settled a debt for you. I get on their website to see what my balance is because we have had no settlements. $208 in the account... $309 to $362 MONTHLY FEES are being taken out. I check with our Adviser *** who just stopped emailing me back. He refuses to answer any questions. We have been in the program for a year and a half and have settled 6 very small debts. Very, very small. We have paid them $8,100, they have settled MAYBE $2,500, MAYBE and the rest are going to fees!!! Do yourself a favor and stay away!!! Go some where that is Federally Regulated as these people are not! They will steal your money!

We were first alerted to Ms. concerns about her program when she left a negative review on another public forum earlier this week. After seeing that review, we immediately reached out to Ms. by phone as there are many false statements in the review and clearly some confusion about what has been done so far. We briefly spoke with her on Monday, but she was not willing to discuss her account at that time and said she would call us back toward the end of the week. We received this review today (Wednesday) but we still have not been able to speak with Ms. to address these issues with her directly.

We prefer not to get into specifics on a public forum but considering we have not yet been able to speak with Ms. directly, I will attempt to address each of these concerns here while we continue to try to speak with, and hopefully resolve these issues, directly with Ms.

First, we are not exactly sure who *** is. Based on the review, we assume it is our client's spouse. However, there is no *** listed on the account and to our knowledge, we have only spoken with *** regarding this account. This may be the reason for some of the confusion if we have never spoken with the person writing this review in the first place.

To address the accusation that nothing was settled - This is false, and the reviewer acknowledges that we've settled 6 accounts later in the review so it's unclear as to why this claim was made. Ms. joined our program July of 2017 and we have settled 6 accounts in full to date and have several others currently in the works.

Regarding the $309 and $362 monthly fees. These are NOT monthly fees. These are payments to creditors for settlements we have arranged for them. This was explained via email, but we could've easily explained further with a simple conversation and answer any additional questions if we had the opportunity to speak with Ms.

Regarding the assertion that we stopped emailing back - The last email we received was at 2:01p on Friday the 22nd and was replied to when we returned to the office on Monday. We are closed during the weekend, and a response was sent the very next business day (Monday). Unfortunately, we had already received the first negative review by that point. We return all client calls and emails the same day in most cases but never more than 1 business day later.

The amount the reviewer claims to have paid in and what was done with those payments is also not at all accurate.

There were many emails back and forth between our client and their account manager over the last two months. Every email was replied to promptly but it became clear that there was some miscommunication and confusion along the way which is when we felt it would be best speak with Ms. by phone and suggested we have a phone conversation so we can be sure to address all concerns and clear up any confusion. We have not yet been able to have this conversation but more than willing to speak with Ms. whenever she is ready to discuss her account.

Everyone at First Choice Credit Management was very helpful and answered all our question during our time in the program. I am thankful to say that we are debt free because of the help from First Choice.

We had a 100% positive experience with First Choice Credit Management. I will recommend them to anyone I know having problems paying their debts. They were very helpful and very respectful. I am so glad I went with them.

For sure customer service was awesome! Mark W. was nothing but helpful, and answered every phone call ( I called repeatedly with a million questions) and he was nothing but helpful, friendly, and reassuring with setting me up. A1 customer service.

This company lies, gives faulty/bad advice and is all around incompetent. DO NOT USE THEM.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! I REPEAT DO NOT TRUST THEM!!!! I am not one to even write reviews but here it goes.. Hands down the worst company I have dealt with. I had joined the program last year = and was told that the first few payments I made were going to a legal protection account and that it was there if I were to be sued so no one could garnish my wages. I Recieved notice of a court date I had because a company was trying to sue me. I called and told First Choice about it and I was told not to respond to the paperwork and to not show up to court and that First Choice would handle it. In january I recieved notice from this court hearing that a judgement was made against me for the court date that I was instructed BY FIRST CHOICE to ignore. I called First choice concerned about my wages being garnished and was promised that it was not going to happen and they reassured me that I was paying them to be protected from this. 6 months later in June my work gives me notice that my wages were in fact being garnished and 25% of my paychecks were being taken. I called and First choice credit managment admitted to making a mistake. They said they didn't know how it happened and that I was just "unlucky" The guy told me in his years of working there he had never seen it happen. Well I am almost 8 months pregnant and for the past 4 months I havent been able to save for maternity leave due to my money being taken from my paychecks esentially because of first choices mistake. I told them I wont have money to pay my monthly dues on maternity leave due to my wage garnishment they PROMISED me protection from and asked to put it on hold for a few months. I was told it wasnt worth it and they cancelled my program without telling me. I didnt even know they cancelled it until I recieved an email telling me so. I then called to ask why and asked if I was getting the rest of my money sent back to me in my account. He told me no then I reminded him they didnt do what they said they needed the money for so I wanted it back. He told me he would get it back to me because they did not offer me the protection they promised. I am only $4,000 in debt and the guy then instructed me that my next move is to start the process to file bankruptcy? WOW! Bankruptcy over $4,000? At that moment I no longer cared that they dropped my program without being instructed to because I no longer want to do businesswith such an inocompetent company. I had paid $400 in the beginning to have legal protection and they are now only refunding me $260 back from the legal protection I DID NOT RECIEVE. I paid you money to do something and you DID NOT DO IT so I deserve my money back IN FULL. I do not understand why I wouldn't get the full $400 back considering they did not protect me at all. In fact they did the opposite. They lied, gave me faulty information and bogus advice. The manager even told me he believes I am entitled to the full $400 but for some reason he couldnt make it happen. In the end I am now losing money by trusting these people. UNBELIEVABLE. Do not trust them. I have lost money joining this program, I have had my wages garnished and my paychecks were cut short because of this company. I have lost money AND I am still in debt. Thanks for nothing First Choice.. Actually thanks for completely screwing me over.

Desired Outcome

I want the full ammount of money they should owe me. I want every single penny back from them that I gave.

Customer Response • Oct 01, 2018

the manager at First Choice called me and made everything right. He went above and beyond what I had expected and gave me back more than just my legal protection money. He apologized and offered me assistance on my accounts even though I am no longer in their program. I really appreciate him going to bat for me and fixing everything. He went above and beyond to make it right.

First Choice accomplished EXACTLY what they said they would. In 24 months I was able to get myself 100% out of debt. I am truly grateful to them. I had 4 credit cards and 2 payday loans and was drowning in my payments. I was getting collection calls at my home and work. I was basically lost because I couldnt afford the minimum payments and everyday it just kept getting worse. I knew I didnt want to file bankruptcy, but I also knew I didnt want to keep pouring money into interest payments. First Choice literally changed my life. They notified my creditors and reduced my debt into a single monthly payment. Two years laters all of my accounts are settled and I even received $1124.00 dollars back! I could never explain the sense of relief and joy I felt when I finished the program. If you want to get out of debt, First Choice can make it possible! Thank you again, for everything!

Canceled service and haven't received any refund yet. Been told the check was sent and nothing arrived. Told new check is being sent and nothing has
I signed up a few months ago to have help removing a repo from my credit report. Been having help from Daniel Fischer and set up a plan and everything. A month ago (8/20/18) I canceled them as I've struck a deal with the bank that repoed my car. I was told a check would be sent from GCS (global client solutions). Never had anything arrive and been watching my mail very closely. Told Daniel that I have not received it so he put a stop on it Friday (8/31/18) and a new check would be sent out. Find out today that nothing is sent. I'm losing out on $2,538.90 because they won't refund me the money. I kept being told what I want to hear and nothing is being done.

Desired Outcome

I want not only my money back but I want some of the fees to be applied back to my refund as well that they were charging me. Would prefer ACH to my bank account ASAP

Customer Response • Sep 11, 2018

It has been resolved. Receiving full refund back via ACH. Am dropping any negative reviews as well as this complaint. Anthony handled it much better than expected

This company claims to help settle debts but all they do is take your money.
I decided I needed help with my bills so I decided to go with First Choice Credit Management. I saw an add on Facebook and thought it sounded like a good company. I spoke with someone about using their services and the gentleman I spoke with was very nice. I specifically asked him is there any fees I would have to pay before I started their program and he said no so I decided to go with this company. He told me my money would be saved into an account until they made a negotiation with a company. The only thing he did not tell me is that the bank they use to store the money takes out monthly fees. I was told I would be done with the program in about 3 years so I made my first payment on April 26, 2018 for $231.00 and another payment on May 31, 2018 for another $231.00. At the beginning of June I decided to check my account that they saved my money into which was called Global client Solution I checked my account balance and I only had $73.00 in my account. How could that be if I just paid them $462.00. As I am looking at my account I noticed in March there was a account set up fee:$9.00, In April there was a Monthly service charge: 9.85, set up fee: 133.34, Monthly fee: 35.00, In May another set up fee: 133.33, another monthly fee: 9.85, another transaction fee 9.85, another monthly fee 35.00. After all these fees every month how are they going to be able to negotiate my debts when the bank takes out so many fees. I decided to close my account in June and I had 73.00 the bank also charged me a transaction fee of 9.85 to close out the account so all I received out of my $462.00 was 67.08. This is ridiculous that they took all of my money and I still owe all of my debt. The only person that got paid was this company and the bank. I want my money back. They did nothing for me but steal my money which could have went to my kids or a legitimate debt solution company. I will not recommend this company to anyone else. It is false advertisement and if there are fees associated with this service they need to say that up front instead of me checking my account and finding out later that I was lied to.

Desired Outcome

I want my money back. I received $67.08 I would like my 394.92 back so I can use it for my bankruptcy.

First Choice Credit Management Response • Aug 07, 2018

Thank you for allowing us to address this complaint. We believe there was some miscommunication with Ms. about refundable fees associated with her program. We have spoken with Ms. directly, issued a full refund and believe we have resolved this matter.

I feel I was scammed. Worst decision of my life. Horrendous customer service. Pressured to file bankruptcy while experiencing financial hardship.
Before entering the First Choice program, my credit score was in the high 650's, I entered in the program because my finances were going to change and I wanted to get ahead of the game. I heard good things about debt consolidation, so decided to go with First Choice after doing research. In 7 months, First Choice did not even attempt to speak to my creditors. I spoke with my creditors and they confirmed that first choice had never even reached out to them. They collected money from me every month, yet solved nothing in almost a year. I paid $837 into the program, if they did what they said they would do when I signed up, I could have had 3-4 credit cards paid off with the amount I paid into the program, if they were to settle for half the debt. The customer service is absolutely horrible. Amongst a horrendous financial hardship, I was practically bullied into leaving the program and pursuing bankruptcy. My disabilities were not taken into consideration when the representative said I could get a $12 an hour job because I sounded intelligent. I was robbed of my money and my credit score, all in my early 30s, and I will never refer another human being to this scam of a country. When you try to address their inconsistencies, they get angry and passive aggressive, just like a bill collector. They DO NOT care about relieving debt, all they care about is tricking people into believing this is a good idea, ruin their credit, then cut them loose. Every single person I spoke with at this company has an atrocious attitude and chip on their shoulder. They do not treat customers with respect, they lie about what's owed to customers, change their mind, then get angry when customers realize they are lying. Worst group of people and worst company I have ever been involved with. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS! Call your creditors directly and they will help you more than these scam artists.

Desired Outcome

I want every penny I paid into this program returned to me. I do not want to pay nearly $400 in fees to a company that provided me with zero help. I was pressured into leaving the program, when I was experiencing a horrendous financial hardship. I am owed $837, I was supposedly refunded a little over $500. I want every single penny I paid into this horrible company refunded to me.

First Choice Credit Management Response • Jul 26, 2018

We have spoken with Ms. to clear up some of the concerns mentioned in this complaint. Regarding the concern of feeling like she was pressured into filing bankruptcy; without getting into specifics on a public forum, Ms. financial situation has worsened since joining our program to where she was unable to make the program payment consistently into the program. Without consistent program payments, we are not able to make any progress toward settling accounts and since there are also 3rd party monthly fees that are assessed to our clients, it gets to a point where it is in the client's best interest to cancel their program temporarily and start again when their situation improves or pursue another option such as bankruptcy. We apologized to Ms. that she felt pressured into cancelling but that was not the intent.

Regarding the concern about her credit score dropping. We make it very clear to all clients prior to enrolling that due to the creditors not receiving monthly payments, their credit will be negatively affected if not already. However, most of our clients are either maxed out with their accounts or already past-due so they have already experienced a decreased credit score. After speaking with Ms., she indicated that she knew that her credit will be affected but didn't realize to what extent.

We are very sorry for how Ms. felt she was treated. Providing excellent customer service to our clients is a top priority. While we wish we had the opportunity to address these concerns prior to receiving the complaint, we have spoken with Ms. directly and we feel that we were able to resolve this matter to her complete satisfaction.

Please let us know if anything else is required to resolve this matter.
