FL Certificate Services

Right after we filed for our FL LLC, I received one letter from Business Compliance Division 2241 N Monroe Street 32303 then right after received a green colored letter from Business Certificate Services 3122 Mahan Dr 32308 BOTH states **This is not a government agency and if I wouldn't have received them so close in time, I would have paid the $87.25 but am so thankful for this forum!

Just set up my business and just got this letter- But I also have gotten 45 (exaggeration) other things "official business open immediately" that I checked to see if they were valid- One even using what resembled the Florida State seal- This is definitely a scam!

I had the form all filled out for my new PLLC and was about to write the check, then I saw in fine print, "This is not a government agency." That made me curious, so I looked them up and see that it's a complete scam. Why doesn't the State of Florida crack down on this "company," especially since they invoke the Florida "Secretary of State" several times in their scam??

Complete Scam. $67.25 down the drain. Wish I had checked here first. Hopefully karma will get them.

I just received a letter from Business Certificate Services 3 days after My LLC was approved. This is a scam. They are wanting $67.25 for a Florida Certificate of Status issued by the secretary of State. I had already ordered this when I applied for the LLC.

Scam. A certificate of status for a new Florida LLC is $8.75. This abominable company charges $67.25 to do the same thing. Moreover, their letterhead and return envelope appears to be "official," all the way down to the address on Capital Circle in Tallahassee. I am all for capitalism and free markets and people buying and selling goods and services in an open system with little government interference, but this company has no moral compass and preys on the weakest members of society and must be stopped.

This company is also operating in the State of *** under the name "***" and is sending the same fraudulent advertisements reported by others for newly registered businesses claiming to be acting on behalf of the Secretary of State offering Certificates of Good Standing using "official looking" form letters.

This is a scam. They charge $67.25 for something you can do online for $5 (for an LLC). The envelope says to open immediately, and the letter says you need to respond within 7 days. It looks like an official document from the State of ***. I was in a hurry to get everything set up for my new business and am embarrassed to say I was dumb enough to mail them a check. I put a stop payment on it with my bank the next day and gave them a call to say that their services would not be required. How does a company like this exist for (at least) the better part of 2 years?

This company stated I owed 67.26 for a Florida Certificate status and this is fraud. I would like a refund

100% a scam. This place is trying to get $67.25 from me when I ALREADY PAID the $8.75 through the official sunbiz.org website to get this exact certificate. If this was official & from Florida, they would already know I've already paid for it.

I received the document about a week after my business was formed. The return address was not a government address nor did it mention anything about it being from the state of Florida. A quick online search shows the company changed names from US Certificate Services and other variations of the scam. Reading the letter closely states this: "You have one step left in order to obtain your *ELECTIVEFlorida Certificate of Status". Elective being the key word that while looking official it's clearly a Phishing Expedition using public records to have you send them a check with your ABA Routing Number & Bank Account. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

This is a scam company that uses a rented UPS store mailbox. If you get a letter from them, lookup the address and contact the business they are using for their mailbox to get it shut down.

This is a SCAM! As a new business owner, one must be aware and mindful of the requests. this "service" makes it appear as if this is the final step to attain your Florida Certificate of Status. You are expected to pay $67.25. There is no need to have this certificate - I verified with Sunbiz. Upon re-reading the document carefully, it states that it is an ELECTIVE Florida Certificate of Status. At the fold line in the document it states: This is not a government agency.
Don't be fooled.

Same as everyone else. I got this scam letter 2 days after getting confirmation that my business was listed on Sunbiz. The fact that this company is still open is really surprising. Shame on them for trying to scam new business owners who are literally just starting and new to all of this. This is not $5 or $10 they are after but $67.25! And even though their letter says (very small and purposely out of the way) that they are not a government agency, they are really trying to mimic the look of one. They even use the number format fro TAX documents on the outside of their envelopes and I have not idea how thats legal. Do not send them money!

Scammers that try to get money from unsuspecting business owners. They make it look like an official document, this operation should be shut down. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Recieved official looking bill after receiving business license, and a due date very close. Obviously a scam and should be illegal.

Absolute fraud. I do not understand how they can operate with impunity.
