Review: signed a contract on 7/23/2014 work was to start 4 to 6 weeks latter it is into the11th week and no work has begun. when I call they say they will call me back but never do. all the other companies havestarted or completed their jobs but 5 star has not started any of the houses that they contracted to do. I have left messages on their phone and they never return them.Desired Settlement: I would like them to get the job done as soon as possible.

Entered into a contract with this business on June 2015 for a new roof.
Business had been stalling every time I called for status on the date of construction.
They also lied about filing a permit at that time.
They filled a permit over a month a go and you cant even get in contact with them.
They have our insurance check at least the first part and they said it wasn't enough because it did not include ice and something for the roofing. But it was in the contract and I am sure since it is part of code that it was included by the insurance company.
We initially tried to cancel but they ignored our email to them completely.
they will charge a 1500.00 fine if we don't go with them.

Review: 5 star restoration placed a new roof on my house around June of 2013. Sometime in late July of 2014 I noticed some of the shingles at the top of my roof where coming up. I called thier construction group number ###-###-#### on or about July 28th and August 1st and spoke to Alex who told me someone would be out to take a look at it. Since this time I have not heard back and have called and left voice mails at this number on about 8 different occasions.Desired Settlement: For the company to repair my roof.

Review: 5 Star Restoration was contracted to install new siding on our house. After the new siding was installed, we turned on our front light and it blew with sparks flying everywhere. It tripped the breaker causing the lighting on the first floor to go out. Our doorbell was constantly on due to an employee incorrectly reinstalling the door bell button after siding installation. We immediately had an electrician correct the electrical wiring before it caused a house fire. The caulking applied around a window in the front of the house was very sloppily done. We have pictures of the burnt electrical wires and poor caulking quality. They broke 3 light bulbs on the back of the house which they replaced when we called them about it. Overall, very poor quality workmanship.Besides their [redacted] location, they also have an office location on [redacted]Desired Settlement: Would like the front window recaulked properly.

I am very surprised to see this complaint, when we are trying to reach homeowners to address their issues from March 22, 2013.

All emails were being ignored. [redacted] called to [redacted] many times, no answer. Emails#1,2,3.

When [redacted] finally got in touch with [redacted] on March, 27, he said that it's ok to go to his house. Nanny will be there.

Noone was home when installers arrived.

I sent an email yesterday asking homeowners when will be a good time to meet next week. (email#4). No respond. Instead I receive this complaint.

Again, I am asking the same question...When homeowners will be available to address their issues? ANy time next week except Monday or Saturday will work.

I am rejecting this response because: Our contact person was [redacted]. When [redacted] emailed us, we contacted [redacted] and discussed the issue with him over the phone. After several weeks, 5 Star Restoration has finally done their job properly and the issue is now mute.

Review: On 4/15/14 I signed a contract with 5 star to replace our roof and repair our front gutter. The roofers finally replaced roof about 9 weeks later. They said it was a different co that would repair the gutter but it would only be a few days. After waiting 2~3 weeks I contacted 5 star and the ins. co. Ins. co advised to hold onto the check until all work was complete. 5 Star finally sent someone out to repair gutter. He was here for 5 minutes as all he did was squirt a silicone gel on the gutter and it still leaks. This shoddy work prompted my husband to look on the roof. We uncovered that 5 star did not put the new turtle vents up and nothing was tact down. We can put our hands underneath the vents into the attic. We have also discovered that they did not put on a new drip edge which was in the contract and was part of the insurance check for services to be complete. The flashing is also done very poorly and we are afraid that during the winter this is going to create a major problem for us. We have explained to Alex and Izabella (owners) that we are anxious to pay them for work done and would also like someone to come out that speaks english. Alex has only replaced the turtle vents but they were still not tact down properly. My husband and I have both called and texted several times for these issues to be resolved. All we have gotten are threats of a lien to our property. My guess is that they will try to say they have tried to resolve but this is not true. We have been trying to contact them again for about a week to fix shoddy work and reduce payment owed due to drip edge and gutter not being done. All they want is full payment or they threaten to lien home. Have not received a call back since 10-25-14 when he threatened to lien our home. We have pictures of all shoddy work and have original contract. We still have uncashed Insurance check.Desired Settlement: Send someone out that speaks clear English and to not just show up unannounced. Fix poorly done work and give us a letter stating that the amount owed will be less the amount for the gutter and less drip edge.
