Friendly Driving School Reviews (46)

Review: I signed my daughter up for driving school and paid them $359.00 on 7/1/2013, at her first class. they told her that the rates had gone up to $380, but since I had just signed her up the week before and had only been tole $359, they would take that, although the receipt they gave her says that I owe $30.00. She completed and passed her classroom portion of driver's ed, but I do not have any paper proof (none given). and I have been trying to schedule the behind the wheel portion and keep getting a phone message that says, "If you are calling the Friendly Driving School, the number has been temporarily disconnected". I sent an email to the "contact us" part of their web site and have not had a response.Desired Settlement: I need some proof from them that my daughter has successfully completed the classroom part of driver's ed with the school and if they are not providing behind the wheel instruction, I want that portion of my payment returned to me since I paid for both classroom and behind the wheel. My daughter is [redacted] as that may be how the paperwork is listed

Response:

Good Morning [redacted]

Review: My son completed driver's education in classroom and driver's education behind the wheel on August 23,2014. At that time we were told by the driving instructor that he would file the necessary paperwork with them [redacted] and that in 90 days we should get a letter from the court system so that [redacted] could get his driver's License. We never received a letter so on 12/1/2014 I called [redacted] at which time I was told that there was no paper work on file from driving school that [redacted] had completed driver's education I could bring the form down and file the form myself and I needed to contact the driving school. I then started leaving messages with the driving school and no one contacted my back until Sunday. I was then told that [redacted] who gave the behind the wheel training and test was getting released from the hospital and it would be Thursday 12/11/2014 before they could get back with me. Today is 12/12/2014 I went to the [redacted] with paperwork that [redacted] left with us and gave it to them at which time they informed me that the paperwork was incomplete and not filled out correctly it had the wrong dates on it and they could not accept the paperwork and I needed to contact the driving school for a new form. I have left a message and several texts and no one will contact me back. Since I paid for the drivers education in the amount of $365.00 I do not wish to retake this drivers education course in order for my child to get his drivers license. I really need your help in order to get this process completed.Desired Settlement: To have the correct paperwork delivered to the [redacted] by the end of next week so that we can proceed in getting a drivers license.

Response:

I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID[redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I do not accept this offer due to the fact that yes he did talk to my husband on 12/15/2014 and to date we still do not gave the proper paperwork to take to the [redacted] nor does the [redacted] have the paperwork. Also he will not return our phone calls nothing has been resolved.

Regards,

Review: My wife paid $249/- ( Check #[redacted], paid on 08/18/14) towards my daughter [redacted] behind the wheels program. However after 2 sessions the instructor complained about my daughter's progress. Latter [redacted] called me to discuss about the issue. I am not satisfied with their approach towards teaching, so I asked him take my daughter out of that program and asked him to refund the payment made for remaining 6 sessions. He agreed to send me the refund however till date I did not receive the refund. I called their office phone number few times with no response and sent a text message on 09/17. I appreciate if you could take up this issue with 'Friendly Driving School' and arrange for my refund.

My Address: [redacted]Desired Settlement: Send me the refund for unused classes.

Response:

We had already talked to the respondent on 9/19 night and confirmed refunding the funds. The check has been mailed last week.

Thanking you

Review: I paid for my daughter to take both the driver's ed portion and Behind the Wheel from Friendly Driving School. After asking several times, I finally was told that the school would submit the necessary paperwork to the [redacted] and that we would receive a card from the [redacted] with a court date. More than 90 days have passed, so I called the [redacted] to see what we should do next. They had no record of any paperwork for my daughter, which means Friendly Driving School never sent the paperwork they assured me they would. I am now in contact with a [redacted] law enforcement agent trying to figure out what is next.Desired Settlement: Option 1 - That my daughter receive her license as expected Friendly Driving School must file the paperwork so that my daughter's license will not be in jeopardy. Post haste.

Option 2 - If my daughter has to take driver's ed and BTW again because Friendly never filed the paperwork, I want a full refund for the services they were supposed to render.

I would also like Friendly Driving School to remove the Revdex.com A+ rating from their website, because it is a fraudulent claim.

Response:

We did submit the paperwork. We also shared the information with [redacted] and also details of the [redacted] Agent who has been helping with the miss within [redacted]. I am not sure we can do any more than this. The requested resolution is what has been in progress all along.

Response:

In reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved. If the company does not perform as promised I can get back to you at: [redacted]I have been in contact with the [redacted], verifying that they will accept the paperwork I possess in order to process my daughter's license. They have not received any paperwork from Friendly Driving School, so the "miss" is not "within the [redacted]" as Friendly Driving School claims. Thankfully, my daughter will not need to retake her Driver's Education and Behind the Wheel Course. Though Friendly Driving School claims this resolution has been in the works from the beginning, any decent business [redacted] would have made sure none of this ever happened. Not to me or the (at least) 16 other complainants through the Revdex.com. A decent business [redacted] would have made sure to fulfill his end of the transaction, i.e., filing the paperwork and making sure his customers were satisfied. Friendly Driving School no longer maintains a website that I can find, so requiring FDS to remove their false claim of being Revdex.com A+ certified is a moot point. As a result, my only real option to to find that this resolution is satisfactory through no action of Friendly Driving School itself. The response is satisfactory because I solved the problem myself - not through any help from FDS. Incidentally, the information the [redacted] of FDS gave me regarding the contact within the [redacted] was wrong. I ended up being referred to a completely different person, who I had to locate myself. I am thoroughly disgusted and dissatisfied with Friendly Driving School. Regards,

Review: I paid $297, up front for teaching behind-the-wheel driving lessons by Friendly Driving School on 6/26/2014. Mr. Douglass C[redacted] the instructor came to our house let my daughter drive for a few minutes, only to find that she came back crying. Her reasoning was that he was rude, and kept badgering her with instructions she could not understand. She was 20 years old, had just gotten her lerners permit and driving for the first time in her life. When confronted with Mr [redacted], the president of the company, he promised to pay back the money through an email chain I have saved. But to this date, I have not seen the money.

I would like to know how I can get my money back.Desired Settlement: I need my $297 refunded to me.

Review: I signed up, and took behind the wheel with this school in early May of 2014. I took all of the required sessions, and received my paper 6 month copy of my license. I was told that if I did not receive my court date to receive my hard copy of my license within 3 months that I should call the driving school back. I did not receive my date, and have been calling the school, and owner since August trying to get the matter straight. Each time I have been hassled, and told that it is the[redacted] fault. In November I was forced to receive a temporary extension on my paper copy of my license, and I have been trying to get the matter straight since then. My extension runs up on February 5th, and I am at my wit's end. My father has been to the office 5+ times, and we have received no answers. I am very angry, and need this to be taken care of as soon as possible. I need for my paperwork to be filed so I can receive my court date, and my hard copy.Desired Settlement: Court date for official license, and receive official license.

Response:

Last communication, per our records with [redacted] was in late October and early November when we provided her with the extension of certificate. We are working with a [redacted] agent to figure out why a batch of students are having this non-processing issue. We met with this agent yesterday too. We have been assured that this will be resolved for the students by [redacted] and our coordination ASAP. For time being we will offer her another extension if required and work through with [redacted] to close the gap and the issue for the complete batch of students.
