GAF Warranty Dept Reviews (164)

D [redacted] Jerry 4:PM (minutes ago) tome Good Afternoon [redacted] This is being written in response to Revdex.com ID # [redacted] The homeowner states that they have rejected our initial response because the Golden Pledge Limited Warranty covers misapplication This is true, however, the Golden Pledge Warranty on this home only covers the squares of Steep Slope roofing materials The contractor did not register or pay GAF for the Low Slope (flat) roof Only the shingles are covered by the warranty, not the flat roof It might be beneficial for the homeowner to contact the installing contractor regarding both the warranty registration and the application defects Jerry D [redacted] Supervisor, Warranty Services [redacted] *** [redacted] *** [redacted] [redacted]

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: I have sent you thus far, the photographs I have personally taken, the original invoice, and warranty information Your warranty department has not acknowledged receipt of my initial emails I have received your warranty kit paperwork and I am completing it As I do not have replacement shingles to replace what I remove, I would like to remove only one shingle I will complete the package and send everything registered mail to your address and it will require a signature However, I expect an acknowledgement of the several emails sent to your warranty email Please confirm Regards, [redacted]

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: I have been trying to get GAF to take care of this for MonthsWhen the roof is replaced and interior leaks have stopped I will let you knowUntil that time I have no confidence GAF will follow through Regards, [redacted]

Please be advised that GAF’s published limited warranties for roofing shingles allow for a one time transfer provided we are notified within days of the property transfer The [redacted] purchased their home in and did not transfer the warranty coverage They notified GAF in Due to the lapse in time and failure to transfer the GAF limited warranty we are unable to honor their request We do not agree with [redacted] statement concerning the performance of our product We are the nation’s largest supplier of roofing materials We earned that reputation by producing quality products and standing behind our warranties

This is being written in response to Revdex.com Complaint ID # [redacted] GAF has been in contact with both the homeowner (claimant) and the repair contractor [redacted] ) [redacted] has ordered the materials and they will be replacing the roof on November 21st (weather permitting) The claimant has been notified We hope this satisfactorily addresses the claimant's concerns

[A default letter is provided here which indicates your acceptance of the business's response If you wish, you may update it before sending it.] Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] .Before closing out this complain, please allow days (weeks) for the business and I to resolve this issue.I am very appreciative that the Business is actively engaged to provide a mutually agreeable solution [redacted]

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: The amount offered by GAF doesn't cover the cost of materials to replace their defective shingles The amount I have ask to be reimbursed doesn't even cover the total amount of repairs that was done to my home I have attached pictures of the damage to my home because of their defective shingles I have also attached pictures of the defective shinglesI do not believe GAF would have offered me a settlement if thee shingles were not defective and they clearly admitted they did My home was barely years old when the roof began to leakIt would seem to me a product that had a year warranty would last longer than years and when it failed to last it the company would stand by the warranty and replace their defective products which they did not Yes, I filed a claim that was later closed because as a single mother of three children I could not afford to have the shingles taken off, then new ones to replace the ones that had to be taken off, nor could I afford to have a contractor give me an estimate on what it would cost to have the shingles replaced, which is what GAF required of me before they would process the claim Once I could afford what GAF required of me I submitted the claim To have them refuse to reimburse me for the materials Regards, [redacted] ***

This is being written in response to Revdex.com Claim ID # [redacted] Claimant is requesting that GAF send an inspector to their home to investigate why certain shingles are not sealing GAF has agreed to accommodate this request An inspection has been ordered to determine the reason why the shingles have not sealed

This is being written in response to Revdex.com Complaint ID [redacted] After reviewing the complaint, GAF contacted the homeowner, as clarification was required regarding the events that took place prior to this complaint being filed After speaking with the homeowner, we now have a better understanding of the situation The homeowner was working with the Estimator from the roofing company he hired to perform the work on his roof GAF is not responsible for the delays that have taken place Claimant's roof was installed in December, GAF was first contacted in April, The following day, the claimant was mailed a kit with claim filing instructions and requirements Claimant acknowledges receipt of same The delays referenced in this complaint are not a reflection of GAF's Customer Service as no GAF employee made any assurances that GAF would perform an onsite inspectionWe have spoken with the claimant and explained why the requested submittals are necessary Additionally, we discussed why this approach is the most effective and accurate way to evaluate a shingle claim We hope the claimant will see fit to provide GAF with the required submittals and allow us to properly evaluate his claim

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: I am not trying to determine the coverage of my warrantyI can read that for myselfI am asking GAF to make a legal determination as to whether or not your subcontractor [redacted] CONSTRUCTION made a representation of your product warrantyFor example, you can say "The representation made by [redacted] Construction as quoted in this complaint to the Revdex.com is a representation."This probably requires you to consult your legal counsel and upper management, and contact [redacted] Construction to investigate before answering

This is in response to Revdex.com Complaint ID [redacted] GAF offered to settle this claim per the terms and conditions of the GAF Smart Choice Limited WarrantyThe settlement dollar values are printed on the warranty document A copy of the warranty is mailed to the claimant along with the settlement offer sheet Claimant is seeking compensation above and beyond the warranty terms GAF is honoring the warranty and the settlement offer is based on the specific terms of the warranty

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: I was never told to get warrantyThey are defective tilesA warranty should not be a factorIf a company sells defective items they should replace or give the money back regardless of a warrantyIf I purchase an item and it doesn't work I am able to take it backThe tiles are defective and are coming apart on my year old roof Regards, [redacted] ***

[A default letter is provided here which indicates your acceptance of the business's response If you wish, you may update it before sending it.] Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] ,The business (GAF) agreed to resolve the issue by sending the roofer again.I have not contacted by the roofer yet, but I look forward to seeing them soon.If it's the same roofer who took care of the back of the house, they already know what is required to fix the front side of the roof

This is being written in response to Revdex.com Claim ID # [redacted] GAF has contacted the installing contractor The contractor has purchased the necessary materials to complete the repairs The materials have been delivered to the claimant's home and the repairs are scheduled for September 9th We have spoken with the homeowner and she has agreed to this arrangement We will be conducting a follow up call with the homeowner on 9/to verify that the installing contractor has made the necessary repairs

[A default letter is provided here which indicates your acceptance of the business's response If you wish, you may update it before sending it.] Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me To date I've not received any validation in mail that GAF has transferred warranty Regards, [redacted] ***

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: it is going to cost us $17,to make this rightGAF is offering us $This won't even cover the material costWe were told that the shingles would weather in / fade together after we moved in by the GAF repThat never happened and now it is even worseGAF is telling us it is from tree shading, I think we can all agree that this is not true Regards, [redacted]

This is being written in response to Revdex.com Claim ID # [redacted] The claimant has expressed their dissatisfaction with the required submittals to support their warranty claim Unfortunately, GAF cannot properly investigate this claim without photos and samples that display the reported problem As our laboratory equipment is not portable, we are unable to provide the field inspection requested by the claimant In most cases, an onsite inspection would not be beneficial to the claimant While certain application defects can be identified by an inspector, the same cannot be said of most manufacturing defects In order to ensure that our evaluation is thorough and accurate, we need to examine the affected shingles in our laboratory This requirement is expressly worded in our warranties and is consistent with industry standards and policies We regret that the claimant is unhappy with these requirements There is, however, no other responsible way to move forward with the claim investigation This is especially true in claims pertaining to discoloration as many factors can affect the appearance of a roof Please understand that our goal, in all claim investigations, is to arrive at the correct conclusion To that end, we urge the claimant to solicit assistance to collect the required evidence for proper evaluation

GAF is not Revdex.com accredited because their product is cheap garbage, do not honor their warranty and will lie to get out of paying a claimIf you have their shingles installed, you can eat them if anything goes wrongWe had GAF shingles installed in January and the asphalt is already coming off and the roof is discolored in large segmentsDo not buy anything from this company

This is being written in response to Complaint # [redacted] [redacted] Liner is not a GAF product and would be excluded from warranty coverage We hope that satisfactorily answers your question

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: I am dissatisfied withthe whole outcome Regards, [redacted]
