Did the customer purchase the map updates from Garmin or from another company?

I believe the device was purchased in Feb 2017, so it should still be under warrantyIt was purchased as a gift, so I don't have a receipt.However, I do have the serial number that I can provide if needed? Let me know if you require further informationThank you
