Company in question did NOT say what motor company requested credit checkWho was the motor company requested the credit check? Name, address and phone number? This could be an attempt to obtain a car by fraud

Dear Mr***, Gateway One Lending & Finance, LLC (“Gateway”) strives to provide service in a professional and courteous manner in compliance with all applicable federal and state laws. In your complaint you indicate that you received guidance from a Gateway customer
service agent to set a date for an ACH paymentYou indicate this guidance caused a late fee to be assessed to your account. Our records indicate on May 22nd a recurring ACH payment for the 22nd of each month was sby you through the Gateway web portalA confirmation of the recurring ACH payment was sent to youOn June 13th we indicate you were contacted regarding your account status and were informed the ACH payment for your account was sfor a date after your due dateRecords indicate you were advised to make either a due date change request or change the ACH dateAs the call ended without any specific instructions provided by you, no additional action was taking and the existing ACH instructions remained active. On July 20th you had discussion with a Gateway customer service agent and requested the cancellation of the existing recurring ACH payment which the agent completedIn your effort to sa new ACH payment it is our understanding you asked the agent to select a due date for this new ACH payment which the Gateway agent indicated they could not determine the payment date on your behalf. It is also our understanding you spoke to a Gateway supervisor on July 21st regarding this matter and were informed similarly Based on our review of this matter we do not find Gateway caused a late fee; however, as a courtesy, Gateway will waive late charges in the amount of $incurred on your accountPlease be informed that there is no recurring ACH payment currently established on your account and any future ACH sshould take into consideration your account due date

I would appreciate more specific information on what steps the business intends to take to "obtain the Florida title". The business mentions that my request will be processed as soon as that information is obtainedEvery interaction I have had with the businesses third party title processor is requesting payment to obtain these documents. I would appreciate and expect explicit details and assurance that the business will be complying with the state of Ohio and sending the appropriate paperwork requested as soon as possible, with no extra charge to me, as I am not the one requesting these documents. This matter is already weeks into the process, as the original fax sent from the state of Ohio to the business was processed on November 2nd.

I appreciate the response from Gatewayone Lending and Finance, however the response amounts to a simple "sorry" I understand this will not be an instant change and that it has been forwarded to a department for review, but for me to just say the action taken is acceptable would be to leave the issue in a place where it could easily just be ignored going forward I check back to make sure my payments go through and take responsibility if it doesn't due to my mistake, but I also know that many people would not have remembered to do so I understand the intent is not to cause a delinquency, but that will be the result regardless of the intent if this isn't addressed It is also upsetting that to go a step further if a payment fails it is no longer shown when logging in to view the account history I understand the record is kept and can be accessed by Gatewayone, but when I log into my account there will be no indicator on there that there's a problem either In other words, I can view my past successful payments but that list won't show me an unsuccessful one unless I already know it's happened and call the customer service line myself to have them look it up In other words, reviewing the policy is good as a first step and I appreciate it, however my complaint isn't "resolved" unless there is an actual change to prevent this from happening anymore. To address the suggestion of recurring payments, I'm sure that would be a good solution for some people and is good to have available, but doesn't work for me since the day of the month that I receive the funds and pay the bill is different each month

Yes it all seems "above board" in that I was listed as a reference for my brotherHowever - this company did not leave any messages for my brother so he could return their callsHe did not have any messages on his phone and was surprised they "called me first"When I asked Gateway One what the calls were in reference to I was given no information just "Have your brother call us." When I asked what the business was and why they were attempting to call my brother I was told "We are Gateway OneGoogle us." Plus - WHO CALLS TO INTIMIDATE a customer and his sister who is OVERPAYING his bills? Really? Again - yes, in the "letter of the law" you called me as a reference to get in touch with my brotherAdditionally, in the "letter of the law" you responded to my complaint in what seems logical and in a way that answers the complaintBut, if I accept what seems to be a reasonable response to my complaint, the Revdex.com closes this complaint as satisfied & nothing changes. However, you attempted to intimidate me, you were rude and your business practices are deplorable according to the now complaints filed and negative comments on the Revdex.com website listing of your companySo in the "spirit of the law" if I answer this complaint as "satisfied" then you keep a dishonest A+ rating with the Revdex.comI'm sorry but that needs to change - your ranking must drop If this was Yelp it would show a more honest representation of your company and your business methods. Complaints and negative reviews must count for something. I regret that my brother purchased his car thorough your companyHe knows better nowSo do I - and I'd rather have more of the public awareIt's hard to be transparent to potential customers hiding behind an A+ Revdex.com rating.

Gateway conducted an investigation into this matter.   Please note that Gateway is an indirect consumer automobile sales finance company.  As such it receives credit application information from motor vehicle dealerships on behalf of consumers seeking to finance their purchase of a motor vehicle.  Gateway received credit application information on March 15, 2017 in your name, with a joint applicant,  from a motor vehicle dealership, [redacted] (“Dealer”), located in Columbus, Ohio.
