Geico Corporation Reviews (1925)

This place is a joke. I can't believe all the NEGATIVE complaints and reviews on them..WOW!
CHECK THIS OUT!
I was a customer for 7 years, never missed one payment. I recently purchased a motorcycle on FRIDAY 5-29-15, I called Geico to add it to the insurance and everything was great. They gave me an okay rate, but they told me I had to be on automatic payments. I cant afford that but did it anyway. MONDAY 6-1-15 " 3 days later" I logged in to check out the motorcycle insurance policy and it SAID " YOUR AUTO POLICY HAS BEEN TERMINATED IMMEDIATELY, PLEASE CALL 800-bla-bla.
So I called. The lady answered the phone and said " Oh yes sir sorry about that it appears we sent you a notice and the bill was never paid, I said thats funny I never got the bill, okay so I wil pay it now and continue. She satrted asking me some questions that were very light. the questions didnt make it obvious, then she said okay sir, your 6 month premium will be $1,689.00 .....I SAID WHAT!!!!! MY 6 MONTH PREMIUM IS 730.00.....she said NO since the account was terminated we have to reevaluate you...and since you had a suspension in the last 3 years its higher, double your normal premium, I said wait hold on.....I have been with you for 7 years and you have always charged me 730.00 now that I am 2.5 years past my suspension " for not paying a fine"
I said why would you charge me 730.00 for the last 3 years and now all of a sudden JACK IT UP.....that makes no sense to charge me double years later...she told me WELL our policys are changing and it would of happened anyway..I said screw you lady I am not paying that, thats insane...she said you have to be refered to geico casualty company and cant be with regualr geico company....I said GOODBYE..not me....she SAID SIR WAIT......Do you want to pay the past due balance of $6.00 I SAID WHAT!?!?!?!?!?!?!? YOU MEAN TO TELL ME MY POLICY HAS BEEN CANCELLED OVER $6.00 she said yes sir...I SAID f[redacted] you lady you have to be joking, and hung up.
I CALLED E[redacted] AND A COUPLE OTHER PLACES AND THEY ALL GAVE ME QUOTES FOR 730.00 FOR 6 MONTHS, AND SAID I HAVE NO DRIVING RECORD WITH ANYTHING BAD ON IT AT ALL!

Review: Geico changed my policy due date without informing me of any changes based on when a customer is late. My ins card still stated 1/27 to 7/27

When I renewed with Geico I was never told or given in writing their policy change regarding late payments. My policy due to date was changed several times having me make 2 payments earlier in the month. I am on a fixed income and don't receive payment until the end of the month and my original due date was fine, the 27th of every month. I called Geico the first time and complained to them about the change in my due date and they stated "that it was a policy change and that I received it in mail" I replied to the csr service rep that I didn't receive correspondence in the mail they had me signed up for paperless and I went on to say that I didn't receive it in my email either. Then noticed that my bills were due earlier in the month still no correspondence to reflect change in policy. In June I wrote them an email to state that I couldn't make the payment on the 8th, that I wouldn't have payment until the end of the month. They responded with "We are sorry that you are on an fixed income, but it's our policy that your date will be changed when you are late and we can't give you an extinction that was the extended date, you can renew with us at a future time" I know that when a business changes any part of their policy they are to inform the customer either in writing, email or verbally when they speak to them. I don't like when companies hide behind policy( if that is what it was. I also, asked personnel at the Geico center in my area and he stated that their is no such policy in place that they can't just change my due date without reissuing me a new insurance card.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund for all the extra charges that were placed on my bill. The company is at fault and I'm paying for their mistake.

Review: My name is [redacted]. I was told by Geico Insurance that I needed to travel to [redacted], CO. The purpose of the trip was to provide a deposition on behalf of Geico. I traveled on the 2nd of September 2013 and returned to Minnesota on the 4th of September 2013. Geico provided me with a plane ticket to travel, but, did not pay for transportation from the airport to attend the mandatory deposition appointment. Geico made the car reservation, when I arrived at [redacted], CO airport I was told by Geico over the phone that I would have to pay for the rental car and I would be reimbursed. I have submitted all my travel expense documents as well as my check stub on 20 September 2013 and again on the 25th of September via email to [redacted] at Geico ###-###-#### and I have yet to be reimbursed. This is very unprofessional on behalf of [redacted] and Geico. I want to be reimbursed now for these expenses. Therefore, I’m requesting assistance to resolve this matter from the Revdex.com.

Thank You

[redacted]Desired Settlement: I want Geico to reimburse me for all the travel expenses and a day of wages that I missed due to the mandatory deposition.

February 12, 2014

Dear **. [redacted]:

This will acknowledge receipt of your February 9, 2013 inquiry regarding the above referenced private passenger automobile insurance policy.

On October 12, 2013 the above policy was renewed with an effective date of November 22, 2013 to insure a 2010 Toyota with a six month premium of $735.30. Under normal circumstances, the first premium installment bill for the policy renewal would have reflected a payment due date of October 22, 2013 in the amount of $132.55 in accordance with the selected six payment installment plan. However, due to late payments made by the insured during the prior policy period, the processing of the policy renewal was delayed, which resulted in a double installment bill for $378.94 that included arrears in the amount of $123.84 and a revised due date of November 22, 2013. Enclosed is a copy of the bill issued on November 8, 2013 reflecting the arrears and the revised payment schedule.

On November 25, 2013 a notice of cancellation for nonpayment of premium was mailed to the insured at the address on file indicating a cancellation date of December 11, 2013 because GEICO did not receive the past due premium installment payment of $378.94 by its November 22, 2013 due date. Enclosed is a copy of the notice of cancellation dated November 25, 2013.

On December 7, 2013 the insured contacted GEICO via telephone and indicated that she could not pay the $378.94 premium installment in full. In an effort to assist the insured to avoid cancellation, she was offered a special payment arrangement to which she agreed to submit installment payments as follows:

Due Amount

Dec-12-13 $127.55

Jan-22-14 $252.00

Feb-22-14 $252.00

Mar-22-14 $247.59

On December 12, 2013 the insured submitted an electronic check payment for the $127.55, which rescinded the pending cancellation. A premium installment bill for $252.00 was subsequently issued on January 8, 2014 reflecting a payment due date of January 22, 2014 in accordance with the above payment arrangement. A copy of the bill is enclosed.

On January 23, 2014 a notice of cancellation for nonpayment of premium was mailed to the insured at the address on file indicating a cancellation date of February 8, 2014 because GEICO did not receive the past due premium installment payment of $252.00 by its January 22, 2014 due date. A check payment for $252.00 was subsequently received via mail on February 10, 2014, which rescinded the pending cancellation. Enclosed is a copy of the notice of cancellation dated January 23, 2014.

On February 11, 2014 a premium installment bill was issued indicating that there are two remaining installment payments due on February 25, 2014 and March 22, 2014 respectively. Once these payments are received in a timely manner, the policy will once again revert to the standard six payment installment plan for the upcoming renewal policy. A copy of the bill is enclosed.

Our company is unable to comply with the insured’s request to be provided with a premium credit.

Since there appears to be no valid complaint against GEICO, we ask that this be removed from our record.

If you require further assistance with this matter, please contact the undersigned at ###-###-####.

Very truly yours,

I am rejecting this response because:

As a 23 year customer okay cause I would expect you to at least work with me I cannot afford to hundred and $52 a month therefore I will be seeking other and other insurances it's a shame that I have to let Geico no go but I will as soon as I find new insurance I know four people including my sister who left Geico because of your practices I'm to speak to an attorney about this and you will hear from him bye-bye

Review: I just want you to know how sad and disgusted I am with customer service provided by [redacted] at Geico today. My mother passed away mid-June and I've been trying to cancel her renter's policy since July 1. Each of the four times I've called, I've been given the run-around, people needing this form, or this info, or telling me they will call me back and then never do. I understand the need for proper vetting of who I am, however, the continued run-around and the left hand not knowing right the right hand is doing and their lack of follow up, when they said they would call is troubling. Today, after I was told I'd get a call back earlier this week, I was FINALLY able to cancel the policy. Problem being, they are cancelling the policy effective midnight tonight. I was told that I would be responsible for premiums (that will in the end total to be around $5 for this portion of July). Even though I've been trying and calling and jumping for 25 days now. What's the worst is the treatment I just received from their customer service rep, [redacted]. My mother is dead. This was her policy and this woman was just awful. Nasty. A disgusting disgrace. If the premiums weren't paid, they would've cancelled the policy anyway. But I try to do the right thing and let them know my mother had died and cancel the policy. Instead I am met with just complete incompetence and nastiness.Desired Settlement: I don't think that we should owe anything on this policy as they have dragged and dragged and dragged their feet. It's just not right. I tried to cancel on July 1. I couldn't get them to return my call. It's just not right.

Dear **. [redacted],

Thank you for your correspondence and the opportunity to address your concerns as it speaks to the cancellaltion of your mother's policy.

First, let me apologize for what seemingly is "apathy" on any agent's part to assist you with the cancellation of your mother's policy. I am sorry for your loss and understand that this is a very difficult time for you. I would be happy to assist you with your mother's homeowner policy. I have been unsuccessful in finding this policy as it is not referenced in your correspondence.

Please provide your mother's policy number so that I may further assist you at this time. I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Review: My husband, [redacted] was involved in a 3 car accident on January 25, 2014. He was injured (not seriously) and transported via ambulance to the local hospital. There was a car ticketed ([redacted]/driver) by police for the cause of this accident. My husband did not get ticketed, and was not at fault for this collision. It was a chain-reaction of events that caused him to crash - based on the guilty party failing to yield to icy conditions. Geico paid out some of the medical expenses, and deemed my husband's car totaled. Not only did they undervalue the car upon payout, but they also pulled our rental car 5 days after the accident - coincidentally on the same day the adjuster looked at the care and deemed it totaled. We were forced to get another vehicle within 24 hours or be liable for the rental car that was covered for 30 days under our policy. We have had hundreds of emails (we saved them) and countless phone calls to many people at Geico regarding this claim. All the while, we were trying to have Geico under subrogation go after the ticketed party and their insurance ([redacted]) for reimbursement. In April 2014, they decided to pursue [redacted] for the reimbursement. They requested the police reports and on July 8, 2014, we received a check back from Geico for our $500 deductible, claiming that [redacted] assumed responsibility for the accident and would pay all of Geico's costs. They released my husband from liability for the accident.

Under extreme frustration with all of the negligence on this claim, we have now started searching for a new insurance carrier. I was advised by one of the prospective companies that the accident under their reports still shows [redacted] "at fault" and it has not been corrected. This would force a new and much higher policy rate. I immediately went to geico and requested a letter of experience admissing fault for [redacted]. I received it shortly thereafter in my email. They have shown that their records as of April 2014 show no fault, yet they have not changed the insurance reports to show otherwise. It is now hampering our ability to search for a new insurance carrier, and Geico is aware of that.

I feel that they are purposely not making the change so that we cannot opt for another insurance company. We have the deductible refund, and have the email letter from Geico admissing fault. We need help in having them change the insurance reports to show he was not at fault. Until this is changed, we are not able to get decent insurance rates with a new company. Please help us. I have all the letters saved on my computer, and notes from each Geico call with dates, names and times.Desired Settlement: We want Geico got change the insurance reporting systems to reflec the [redacted] was NOT "at fault" for [redacted] accident. We have the documentation from Geico returning our deductible check and a letter of experience admissing him from fault. Until this is changed, we cannot shop for new insurance policies with other carriers.

September 8, 2014Dear [redacted]:Thank you for your inquiry of September 4, 2014.The above referenced complaint arises from an automobile accident that occurred on January 25, 2014, involving John Callahan. Based on the facts initially reported by [redacted], we classified the accident as at-fault, which was sent to the reporting agency referenced in [redacted]'s complaint. We later amended our decision and it appears the reporting agency did not update their records. On August 20, 2014, we received a call from [redacted] requesting that we update the records. We informed [redacted] our claim file reflects not at-fault and agreed to send a letter to [redacted] supporting same. Additionally, we filed a request with the reporting agency, [redacted], to correct the record. We understand it will take several weeks for that to occur. We apologize for any inconvenience experienced by [redacted]. Review: 1- Have an auto insurance with GEICO throw a nice and super quick 5-minute phone call.

2- My vehicle was hit by another vehicle under the coverage of the same agency.

3- I reported a claim immediately and then had to wait over a month to get a reply that my claim was investigated and processed.

4- During the one month period of waiting for the response, I have traded my car in.

5- Before the trading-in, multiple phone calls was made by me to accelerate the process and to follow up.

6- After receiving the response, I have asked GEICO for compensation instead of the repair as my car was traded in.

7- GEICO has denied the request claiming that no estimation was made to issue a compensation.Desired Settlement: 1- A fair compensation based on the reported claim that describing the damage.

2- Claim processing time is what resulted in denying my compensation request so, GEICO should take responsibility of the delay.

Dear **. [redacted]:

Thank you for your letter dated November 4, 2013. It has been referred to me for a response.

The complainant, **. [redacted], reported a claim against our insured as a result of an accident that occurred on July 4, 2013. Despite numerous attempts to reach our insured, **. [redacted], did not provide details of the loss to us until August 7, 2013. We then attempted to reach **. [redacted] to schedule an appointment to inspect his vehicle.

On August 16, 2013, **. [redacted] advised us that he had just sold his vehicle two (2) days prior. We requested documentation supporting the damages his vehicle sustained but **. [redacted] indicated he had not retained any documentation. When we last spoke to him on August 20, 2013, **. [redacted] was attempting to reach the new owner of the vehicle to determine if the vehicle could be made available for inspection.

We have since spoken to the complainant and on November 5, 2013 reached a settlement on his claim. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact Claims Supervisor, [redacted], at ###-###-####.

Review: I have geico insurance company. I wrecked my car in Buffalo New York and I live in [redacted], ohio. I was on a toll road and only one tow company could tow my car, so they towed my car to their shop. Immediately after the wreck, I attempted several times to contact my insurance company to advise me on a rental car. I was disconnected every time. I had to take the only rental car available at the cost of 238 dollars. Geico will not reimburse. Also the following morning, I contacted geico insurance company. No one had informed me that my cars only guarantee would be from the company working on the car. I also spoke with the adjuster that neglected to inform me that the auto body shop would be the only one with the guarantee so the guarantee would only be valid in New York and I live in ohio. However they informed me today that if I had used a geico shop the warranty would be good here in ohio. This information was given to me after I signed for the work to be done at the other shop. So I will have my car back with no warranty and if something happens to my car in the who, such as items stolen, then geico will not cover. I have left several items in my car due to transferring my items from the top of a tow truck. I had Been vacationing in Canada.Desired Settlement: A warranty on my vehicle for the area in which on live. Coverage on my items left behind in the car. Also my tow paid at the price that I paid. 238 dollars.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: I had contacted the insurance company within 15 minutes of the wreck. I was put through the computer system x 2 and this disconnected. My other concern was that when the adjuster called me, he did not inform me that my car was at a non geico shop. I found that out later with a conversation with a supervisor. I had requested to speak with a supervisor and was denied. I think the company did not adequately inform me of my rights and then refused to allow me to speak to a supervisor. I finally had to make several calls to speak to that supervisor. It was the shop in New York that helped me to recover my money from the rental. He was very helpful, more so then my own insurance company. My insurance company doesn't honor his work here in ohio but the shop did give me their word to honor their work. That was more than I got from own insurance company.

Review: On 10/25/13, I obtained a online quote from the Geico website. It was not made clear on the website that once you obtain the quote you were "locked in" on the policy change. I only obtained the quote from Geico due to our family has been with Geico for about 20 years. I called customer service. The first representative informed me that new amount which was 160.00. I questioned how and she informed me of the policy that since I informed Geico, through a quote, that I had a teenager in the home with a license, they had to change the policy. I asked how I could take her off and I was informed I could not unless she turned in her license or we cancelled. The representative informed me my 10/30 would be 77.20 and my 11/30 would be 160.00. I called back due to I had another question and spoke with a male representatve. He informed me my 10/30 payment would 77.20 and 11/30 would be 319.00!. I explained the prior information. He apologized and stated it was due to we pay ahead. I informed him that I did not add my daughter until 10/25 so why was she added for the full month! He stated it was due to the payment schedule. I then explained due to unemployment in the home, I am not able to afford 319.00 at one time. The representative stated that I could spread 160.00 payment. I then receive a cancellation notice stating the 160.00 is due by 11/17/13 or my policy is cancelled! The representatives were professional and polite, but I did not ask for Geico to add my daughter based on obtaining a quote.Desired Settlement: I would like for the 160.00 spread of a period of 12months for a payment of 173.00.00 beginning 11/30/13. This will include the 159.00 increase and 13.34 for the 160.00 over 12 months.

I am disappointed in that I could not simply get a quote and not be "locked in" and that GEICO assumed I wanted that quote.

August 4, 2014Dear [redacted]:Thank you for your inquiry dated November 5, 2013 in reference to [redacted]’s complaint about the addition of daughter, [redacted] to her automobile insurance policy. We apologize for the delay in the response but we do not have a record of the original notification.Based on the information provided in the quote, [redacted] was a licensed driver who would operate the insured vehicles. Review: In January I changed insurance carriers due to the price quote given to me by a sales representative. The price was to include my son as a new driver with his license on our policy beginning February 13, the day he was to be a registered license holder. Four months later an email was sent announcing that he was not insured under our policy and to add him we will need to add another 400 dollars for the remainder of the term. The policy cost more than doubled and during the last four months our son was not actually fully insured which is a large concern of mine. Having spent time dealing with other companies, all of which were clear on my needs, I believe that GEICO was clear on what I needed also and gave me a quote directed towards those needs and then changed those prices.Desired Settlement: I would like to know that this is not allowed and that GEICO takes full responsibility for the actions of it's sales representative. I believe that the policy should include my son without a cost change for the remainder of the term. This allows me the time in which to search for a company that properly discloses any and all changes that may occur with our coverage.

COMPANY:

Dear **. [redacted]:

Review: I purchased an insurance policy and was lead to believe the my collision covered everything and my car was safe from any and all objects and nature.

A little over 2 years ago I purchased a insurance policy for a 2009 Buick Enclave. When I got the policy I was a little unsure of things so I did the little chat thing and a geico team member reassured my that the collision portion of my auto policy covered and all objects be it man made (cars) or natural (Deer). Then again I talked to a second lady this last summer and again was reassured that it covered anything and my vehicle was safely insured. Feeling secure that I was being told the truth I went on ok until last night well I was south bound on M-[redacted] towards [redacted] Michigan. There another car in the North Bound lane struck a Deer at a high rate of speed sending it back into my vehicle. When I called to file a claim with Geico I was informed that my collision insurance doesn't cover any animals. My problem with all of this is I was lied to and told the opposite well they where happily taking my money. It clearly says (any object) no where does it say excluding animals. Well a Deer is an object a very solid object. And I didn't hit the Deer the other car did involving me in there accident. Anyways I don't think or feel that it is ok for me to be mislead too about this matter well the accept payments. I have purchased the so called comprehensive earlier today. Even though I was lead to believe twice by Geico employess that is was covered and at no time did they say: No **. [redacted] that doesn't cover those type of things.

Below follows a copy of a letter I sent to the Geico company:

I have been with your company for 3 years almost now. And in that time I purchased collision coverage for a 2009 buick enclave. At the time I accepted the coverage a lady told me specifically that all damages would be covered under that. (Collision Coverage pays for damages to your auto caused by collision with another object or when it overturns. When you select a deductible, you can also choose either broad form collision or limited form collision.Broad Form collision allows you to waive the deductible if you are less than 50% at fault. If you selectLimited Form Collision instead, you would only have coverage for your vehicle in accidents where you are less than 50% at fault.) Now when I asked if this would cover animals trees anything I was assured it would cover all acts. Now last night another car hit a deer causing it to crash into me that isn't covered under my policy I would have to have had compressive coverage. Now why is it that your company straight lied to me and accepted my money for 3 years leaving me under false pretnece that I was ok. Now I find that I was lied to all this time and I am going to have to pay for this out of pocket . I want to know why I was lied to all this time. I have paid your company thousands of dollars thinking my vehicle was safe. Now I see that your company has no problem lying to hard working people and stealing from them. Because that is what is happening I made an agreement with the understanding that I was covered. Now in the paragraph in the collision it states any object. Well a deer is an object a very solid object. I will be bringing this matter to the attentiuon of the Revdex.com and any future lawyers that I may hire. It isn't okay for someone in your company to say those things and make promises over the phone to a customer knowing that they are lying and still accept payment under false misleadings.

[redacted]Desired Settlement: I would like my car to be fixed in a quick manner like I was lead to believe that it would be if anything (ANYTHING!) happened or reimbursed for the out of pocket cost it is going to cost me to get my vehicle back into working order. And if for some reason they cant do that then some sort of good discount over the next year of service will have to suffice.

Dear **. [redacted]:

Thank you for your letter of November 10, 2013.

This loss was reported to us on December 7, 2013 by our insured, **. [redacted], who stated he struck a deer. We spoke with him on December 8,2013 and advised he did not carry comprehensive coverage on his policy for his 2009 Buick Enclave, so the loss would not be covered.

After further review, we agreed to cover the loss and handle the vehicle damage under the collision coverage with a $1000 deductible. We are negotiating his repair estimate and will issue his damages, less his $1000 deductible. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Claims Manager, [redacted], at ###-###-####.

Sincerely,

Consumer

[A default letter is provided here which indicates your acceptance of the business's response. If you wish, you may update it before sending it.]

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

However I want it noted that I did not hit a deer another vehicle hit it and it then struck my car.

I also want it noted that it is the 26th of december and I still have yet to hear back from my body shop (Geico still hasn't sent them the approval letter to fix the vehicle).

Dear **. [redacted]:

We received your letter regarding the cancellation of **. [redacted]’s auto policy.

**. [redacted]’s policy cancelled as of September 20, 2013 for non-payment. A cancellation notice for $111.90 was mailed on August 16, 2013. This notice advised **. [redacted] that a payment was due by September 1, 2013 or the policy would cancel. **. [redacted] prevented the cancellation by submitting a payment for $55.95 on August 31,2013.

Since **, [redacted] did not pay the full amount due, another cancellation notice wa$ mailed on September 3, 2013. This notice was to inform **. [redacted] that if a payment for $55.95 was not received by September 20, 2013 the policy would cancel. We did not receive a payment and as a result the policy cancelled. Enclosed is a copy of the cancellation notice that was mailed to **. [redacted]’s address on file.

If you have additional questions regarding this matter, please contact [redacted], at ###-###-####, extension [redacted].

Sincerely,

Review: Geico insurance does not address collision claims for policy holders and there is a huge disconnect between their customer service representatives and claims service representatives and their insurance adjuster representatives. For the most part the customer service or claims service team members can not speak to any actions both good and especially bad by the claims adjusters for damages or coverages as deemed by the adjusters. I was involved in an accident that involved significant damage and it was immediately clear that they did not use normal business standards to assess the market value of the car in order to raise the assessed value of the car while also lowering the damage and repair estimates just enough to avoid a total loss. They produced a report that shows a list of vehicles they deem as comparable to mine in order to come up with a fair value. However, if you review the sources, these are cars that are not yet sold and thus have distorted prices. Furthermore, some of the sources they are using are also questionable. at best. For example, a cited source for pricing was listed as "[redacted]" which I was told means [redacted]. Any realist knows that just because I put a price on something, especially on something as absurb as [redacted], it doesn't mean that is the fair value and shouldn't even be considered as a data point to begin with. I could have posted my car on [redacted] with a price of 2 million, but that doesn't mean that is a data point to be considered. In addition, because there was damage to my front driver side strut, it had to be replaced. In replacing it, it required all 4 struts to be replaced on the car but the Geico adjuster and his management team thought it was their right to refuse paying for labor on all 4 struts and instead required that I cover the labor costs for the other 3. It just seems not only poor business but also does not adhere to how insurance companies are required to operate. It was my impression that they must return the car to its operating form prior to the accident. In this case prior to the accident the car was on an aftermarket suspension and you can not just buy a single strut as they come in 4s. Therefore, they have to replace all 4 and should have to pay for all 4. The cost overall is so remedial in terms of actual dollars and even moreso relative to the size of the total claim. It is quite asinine that this complaint is necessary but honestly, Geico sells a false product and in my opinion, deviate from what is required of them as policy providers. I am not getting my car back to its pre-accident form without having to settle for parts that were not there prior, and also having to even pay additional labor costs for the repairs. Coupled with their questionable business ethics regarding valuation of my car in order to prevent a total loss is just overall infuriating to say the least.Desired Settlement: I believe that they should at the very least refund me for the additional repair costs that I feel should have been the responsiblity of the insurance agency to begin with. The car was damaged because of the accident and thus any repairs that are needed to place the car back to pre-accident condition should occur. That is the reason for collision insurance and the added cost in premium that Geico charges.

Review: I was a resident of Buffalo, NY when I purchased, registered, and insured my vehicle. 2 Years later, I moved to Brooklyn, NY to attend school, leaving my vehicle with my Parents in Buffalo, NY. Five months after moving, Geico automatically raised my payments by over 100% without notifying me. They claimed this was due to my having my mail forwarded to a Brooklyn, NY address. I contacted them to inform them that my vehicle was NOT in Brooklyn, New York. They made no change to my billing charges. When I completed school, I moved back to Buffalo, NY. I had my mail forwarded to my new Buffalo address, but Geico required 'utility' bills in order to prove this was my new address, despite initially using the same evidence as a means to increase my payments. Since I was living with my Mother at the time, the utilities were not in my name. I offered to provide several other forms of proof - postmarked mail, bank statements, receipts, etc. I have yet to receive any amount of back pay from Geico, which they promised, and my address still says Brooklyn, NY, despite the fact that I have been back in Buffalo for nearly 3 months. If my mail forwarding was enough to change my billing information the first time, it should surely be enough to change it a second time. I suspect that Geico's policy favors situations in which they can increase charges to their customers, but not decrease them. Surely, this is not an abnormal situation, as people often reside in one area for school, but leave their vehicles in another location.Desired Settlement: I would like to receive the back pay adjustments that Geico promised me.

Dear **. [redacted]:

This will acknowledge receipt of your October 1, 2013 inquiry regarding the above referenced private passenger automobile insurance policy.

On December 2, 2012 the above policy was renewed effective January 6, 2013 in the name of [redacted] to insure a 2008 Chevrolet. The policy was rated for Buffalo, NY [redacted]. Enclosed is a copy of the renewal policy declarations dated December 3, 2012.

On December 14, 2012, after a routine review was conducted by our Underwriting Department, the rated location for the above policy was adjusted to reflect a Brooklyn, NY [redacted] address since our findings indicate that the said location is the primary place of residence for the insured, and is therefore the primary location of our risk exposure. A letter as well as revised policy paperwork was also sent to the mailing address on file notifying the insured of the reasons for the change. Enclosed are copies of the letter and the revised policy declarations dated December 15, 2012.

On July 15, 2013 the insured contacted GEICO and requested a change of address for the policy to reflect [redacted] NY [redacted]. The mailing address for the policy was changed as requested. However, the insured was advised to provide proof that she is currently residing at the new address in order to change the rated location for the policy since our findings still indicate that the Brooklyn, NY location is her primary place of residence.

address reflected on her complaint. If our company’s findings are inaccurate, our underwriters will review any supporting documentation that the insured is willing to provide as proof (pay stub, bank/credit card statements etc.) of her current place of residence. The insured can contact the underwriter listed on the enclosed letter to discuss any additional documents that would be considered as acceptable proof of her residence.

Since there appears to be no valid complaint against GEICO, we ask that this be removed from our record.

If you require further assistance with this matter, please contact the undersigned at ###-###-####.

Very truly yours,

Review: I disbuted this company for taking an unautherized amount of money (over double than autherized) and taking money on a day other than previously agreed on. I recoked my autherization to have my sons insurance be debited form my account and GEICO ackowledge this in a response to the Revdex.com last month. This company has debited my account again and after I called, they still will not stop the deduction form my account because the account is in my sons name. I understand privacy rules and I am not requesting anything that has to do with anyones insurance account. My disbute has to do with my banking account and the theft of my money by GEICO. I am requesting that the money taken form my account be returned and that GEICO stop taking money out of my account.

Please see complaint [redacted], one of GEICO's response states that they have stopped debiting my account.Desired Settlement: Stop taking money out of my account to pay for someone elses insurance and refund my money $451 that has been taking without my autherization.

Review: I've been with Geico insurance for many years paying my premiu** on time without question. Over they years they have collected thousands of dollars from me. My 2013 [redacted] was involved in a theft on 10/7/2013. It has now been 90 days and this claim as not been settled. I have done at least 3 recorded statements. They have interviewed my roommate. I have been interviewed by the police numerous times. There is no evidence of foul play or fraud. Its gotten to the point where I can't afford to pay two car payments so now its affecting my credit. This whole situation has been very stressful, time consuming and damaging to my financial state. I dont even think I've ever had to use Geico. So this may be my first real claim. Out of all the money I've paid the company and this is the thanks I get for being a valued customer.Desired Settlement: I was this claim settled immediately. I want the check sent to my finance company so I can move on with my life and start worrying about other things.

Dear **. [redacted]:

Thank you for your inquiry of January 11,2014.

On October 8, 2013, **. [redacted] contacted GEICO reporting that his vehicle had been stolen, it was recovered later that same day in a lake about 30 miles from his home. GEICO conducted an investigation into the claim including forensic exams of the vehicle and an examination under oath of our insured to address concerns in the reported facts of loss.

GEICO has concluded its investigation and **. [redacted] accepted an offer to settle for the total loss of his vehicle on January 14, 2014 in the amount of $22,582.81. GEICO is pending receipt of **. [redacted]’s signed and notarized power of attorney form that was emailed and mailed to **. [redacted] on the same day of the offer accepted.

If any additional information is needed, please contact [redacted], Claim Director at ###-###-####, extension: [redacted].

Very truly yours,

Review: I had a change in Policy Change on 11-23-12 via e-mail. Ever since I had billed incorrectly. Also have e-mailes on 12-29 concerning wrong billing price. I had also walked in to the Geico Store on [redacted] and was also told by the lady there they had a billing error.

I notified them I was cancelling my policy. Now they have sent this to a credit collection for $187.00 approx. I refuse to pay this and will go to legal if need to. I have very good records and I told them via e-mail on 4-17 they should have the same. All calls are recorded for quality assurance, they could start there. Thank you for your time.Desired Settlement: A letter being sent relieving me of any monies due.

Review: was involved in car accident in 12/14/2013 . contacting my insurance company they tried to force a specific body shop on me to do the estimate , I insisted on the body shop of my choice ( the answer was , it will take time this way , if you go to the place we recommended you will get your check right there and then ) .

My body shop faxed the estimate to Gieco on 12/17 . on 12/20 Gieco stating that they didn't receive anything yet , it was refaxed . they didn't approve it till 12/26 . meanwhile I was renting a car because my car is not in drivable condition ( my rental started 12/16 ) . Gieco decided not to extended my rental beyond 1/14/2014 because they won't cover more than 30 days of rental ( the rental is not even 30 days on 1/14 , beside the delay was their responsibility by delaying the response which I feel it was punishment for not going with the body shop they wanted me to go to ) .

Michigan is no fault state for auto insurances . the accident is not my fault , so I am not due to pay the deductible , where the other person insurance sure be responsible of doing this . the other person insurance is Gieco , and the answer was that they won't pay the deductible , and I can contact small claim court trying to get the deductible from the individual I had the accident with .

I have been a customer with Gieco for years , never had an accident till this winter , and I was surprise to find out the amount of scam in their business , very disappointingDesired Settlement: to extend my rental car coverage and to cover my deductible

To Whom It May Concern:

Thank you for your inquiry of January 27, 2014.

On December 15,2013, we learned that a 2009 [redacted] X5 belonging to our policyholder, **. [redacted], had been damaged by collision. **. [redacted] advised that his vehicle was already located at his chosen repair facility. We asked that **. [redacted] obtain an estimate of repair and photographs from his shop so that we could review them for payment. On December 20, 2013, we received a note from **. [redacted]’s repair facility advising they were submitting a preliminary estimate. We reviewed the estimate and issued payment in the amount of $9,392.45 on December 24, 2013.

On December 31, 2013, we received a supplemental estimate from **. [redacted]’s repair facility in the amount of $1,958.08. We issued payment for the supplemental estimate the same day. Additionally, we authorized a rental vehicle for **. [redacted] through January 13, 2014, the maximum amount allowed by his policy.

We sincerely regret that **. [redacted] disagrees with our handling of his claim. As noted above, **, [redacted] chose his repair facility and we approved and made payment of all estimates submitted by his repair facility within a few days. In the State of Michigan, auto damages are paid by a policyholder’s collision coverage subject to the chosen deductible. We handled **. [redacted]'s claim in accordance with Michigan regulations and his policy limits.

Should you have any further questions regarding this matter, please contact our Auto Damage Manager, [redacted], at ###-###-####.

Sincerely,
