Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***
The dealer's response did say that I went ahead and rented a car before I knew it would be covered by the warranty. That is not totally correct. He fails to mention that I entrusted my vehicle to him on Saturday the 26th of July, and I waited until the following Wednesday to rent from Enterprise. Buy the time I rented, the warranty company had already said I had days covered. Because of the delay in service, the warranty company has extended my rental coverage to a total of days. The dealership picking up days rental will certainly help a great deal and be appreciated
Thank you to the Revdex.com for helping to find this resolution which, though less than I had hoped for, is satisfactory to me and greatly appreciated
Regards,
*** ***

Even though the customer put down a non refundable deposit we will refund him this today.we consider this matter closed

We responded earlier to this complaint. We have an apt set for the 8th to get the vehicle back into the shop. The customer didn't purchase a service contract so we couldn't get him a rental vehicle. The shop will be expanding later this year. FYI We hope to have
this vehicle fixed soon. regards *** ***

When it rains it pours. we haven't received the check from the finance company for the gap cancellation....that being said I am having the accounting department cut and mail out a check today for the 395. sorry this has taken so much time. I hope our next car deal goes smoother than this partlol thanks for you business ***

To clarify the customer was only charged $to reprogram the sensors that he had replaced prior to bringing vehicle to usWe will be glad to refund him 50% of that. The customer will be called by our cashier and will be refunded on the visa card that was charged on in the amount of
$

We will certainly cancel the extended service contract for these customersI am sorry that the vehicle needs new tires and a specific part will not fix their problemTires are a wear item and the service contract won't replace them Please call *** or *** to cancel cancel your service
contract

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because: Shop only responded to the no loaner piece of the complaint not the followingThe negligence on their part to not fix an issue in service calls (days total) Not able to provide service that is clearly detailed in the user manualNot being honest with customer informing them a transmission issue is the same issue for an evap pressure pump (emissions system vs power-train)To add onto this now due to #they are using their negligence as a sales tactic for extended warranties Believe its an acceptable practice to overbook daily so customers loose their car for multiple days I would expect better customer service from an Authorized Service Center

I again apologize for the confusion. If your confirmation number would have matched the winning number for the $prize you would be receiving a check for $5000. I sincerely wish the 2nd disclaimer wouldn't have been excluded. That being said there are asterisks by each prize which tells you in the disclaimer (*at the bottom on the inside) how to win these prizes. Trust me, this wasn't intentional. It was an oversight.Respectfully*** ***

I am rejecting this response because: The response is not truthful.  We were NOT given "several options".  When I spoke to [redacted] and asked if they would work with us on discounting the repair I would gladly tow it to them if they could help make this right with maybe doing the work for their cost on parts or discounting labor and he said he would check with the service department and call me back.  He did not bother calling me back but had someone else call me and tell me there was nothing they could do but they would offer us $10,000 to buy the truck back - really?  We paid over $17,000 for it so that makes absolutely no sense.  I asked the person that called me back about discounting the repair and he said they couldn't do it for less than the auto shop we had the truck at quoted us - funny thing is I never said how much they were quoting us.  He proceeded very sarcastically that if he knew when a truck would break down he sure as hell wouldn't be selling cars.  I don't appreciate being spoken to like that or telling me you would work with us on discounting repair as much as possible but then have someone else call back to tell me that's not the case. The ONLY option we were given was Mac Haik would buy the truck back for $10,000 even though we paid over $17,000.We are now out repair costs for replacing a piston and cylinder at the auto shop since Mac Haik does not stand by their word or vehicles.  I understand we bought a used vehicle but that was only a few short months ago and we were assured the mechanics go over vehicles thoroughly before they are sold and thought this was a reputable dealership.  Again, we would have gladly towed the truck there if you would have worked with us to discount labor or sell the parts at your cost to help make this right.

Revdex.com:
I too wish it wouldn't have gotten to this point as I went through all of the necessary channels beforehand yet I was ignored and told it was my problem when the vehicle should have never been placed on the lot with the brakes in the condition they were in. If you want customers to come back to you or refer people to you, you treat them fairly and with respect which I was not given. However, I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me with a check mailed to me in the amount of $200. They have my address on file.

We are sorry that you didn't like our response.  We even upped the offer to 12k for the trade in.  I am sorry this vehicle broke down.  They are all machines and even under the best of care can just break down.  That is why we offer service contracts, which was offered with this purchase.  Its a roll of the dice whether you own a vehicle or I own one.   That's why all vehicles are sold "asis"  This is a Federal law which protects the customer and the seller.  There is no exact science as to weather a vehicle will breakdown or not.  I am going to offer a onetime goodwill adjustment of $750.  I know its not the price of the full repair but it the best I can do.  I wish this customer well.

Mrs. [redacted], I certainly empathize with your situation and wish the vehicle had not suffered any sort of mechanical failure. However, this is why we offer all of our customers an extended service contract at the time they purchase their vehicle. An extended service contract would have covered...

an engine failure and eliminated any personal financial liability that you would have incurred under your responsibility of ownership.  We are providing several options if you are no longer satisfied with the truck but unfortunately anything can break at any time when it comes to purchasing a pre-owned vehicle. Our shop is absolutely willing to repair the truck as inexpensively as possible for you by discounting our labor rates and parts cost. The other options we have offered you are still available, we are willing to buy the truck back from you at a price of $10,000 or take it back in on trade while giving you the best deal possible on a different vehicle.

I can appreciate your predicament.  We are sorry the vehicle had issues.  I can only send the $750   If I could do more I certainly would.  I am sending the goodwill adjustment check whether you change your reviews or not.  We didn't intentionally try to sell you a bad vehicle.  These are machines and sometimes they break whether I own them or you own them.  Its unfortunate that you didn't purchase a service contract as this would have been covered.  I know this doesn't cover the whole repair but I hope this shows that we do care about our customers even under these tough circumstances.  I don't think there are many dealerships that would extend this to a customer after a sale....  We hope you have good luck with this truck moving forward...thanks again for your business.  We will be sending a check out today

Mr. [redacted], You have stated that the vehicle did not appear on the Internet until after the sale. We always inspect our inventory once the listing is live but in the case when a vehicle is already sold no one has any reason to inspect that particular vehicle's listing. It will automatically be taken off the Internet once the sale is finalized in our accounting office. This is an automated process which is the only reason the vehicle ever showed up online. You have also stated that you personally inspected, drove, felt, smelled and approved of the vehicle and price before you bought it. You also purchased the vehicle at $1000.00 less than what we were asking for at the time of sale. We did nothing to deceive, misrepresent or manipulate your purchase decision. We were both consenting parties and agreed to a retail transaction regarding the vehicle. We did everything that you asked us to do including swapping mirrors and maintenance items you requested. All vehicles per Texas state law are sold "AS IS". We consider this deal finalized and officially closed. We wish you nothing but the best with the vehicle.

I am rejecting this response because: Accepting this would require me to pay close to $1500 in taxes, title, inspection etc. I already have the clutch purchased. I was told by the technician that the clutch was worn out by prior owners, he also said that it has a Worn out throw out bearing, basically failure of throw out bearing Caused damage to transmission sleeve where throw out bearing glides on to. I have also attached photos the technician sent me. I'm only asking for the repair to be done. The transmission is already out. I would pay for towing. I just need that transmission and the labor. I have been Without a car for 3 weeks and I've only drivin it for about the same. I would prefer to keep the vehicle.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: An original work order receipt was never given to me until now, the pdf version you emailed through Revdex.com was the only one I received. The vehicle was not thoroughly gone over and not all fluids were replaced as stated before purchase. The transmission fluid was not replaced and appears to have or had a minor leak and a bolt missing from the transmission pan, front and rear differential fluid was also not replaced. I was assured that the pre existing major dents would be repaired, one of them was not. Attached photos will also indicate your listing on my vehicle that I found, and the options stated are not included on my truck, laramie package, leather seats etc. Your price obviously included these options which I did not receive. The listing on your website did not appear until after the sale, that's deceiving in my opinion. I visually inspected the truck I initially and noticed it had just the standard options, not premium options as advertised after the fact. So was I charged for options I didn't  receive? All I want is for Both parties to mutually come to an agreement and for you to make good on your part, so I can possibly restore my faith in your dealership.

I am rejecting this response because: Hello,I only selected reject so I could confirm what a "onetime goodwill adjustment" means.  Adjustment on what?  We just picked up the truck from the shop we used for repairs yesterday so payment has been made for repairs.  Does adjustment mean you would send us a check for that amount?  Please confirm. We are out around $4,000 for this issue.  We would accept $750 but if there is any way to come up to just $1,000, that would mean a lot.  If you could come up to that, I would update my reviews to show that you guys worked with us on this issue and we appreciate that.  That is all I wanted from the beginning - just to work with us on this.

We apologize for the delay.  I have attached a copy of the check sent to your credit union.  I spoke with Reid about this and if he came across brash.... then I sincerely apologize again.  This isn't the way we conduct business.  We wish you good luck with your purchase. ...

Thanks for your business

[redacted] I certainly apologize for any miscommunication you had with my staff.  You can buy the vehicle without the paint and fabric protection your salesperson discussed with you. No charge.I will more than happily honor the sale price of $23861 which includes all incentives and discounts...

regardless of which financial institution you would like to use.  I will allow $23500 for your trade which is the same thing we offered you at the dealership.  Please let me know when you would like to come in and complete the transaction.  I appreciate your business.thanks [redacted]

Complaint:...

I am rejecting this response because:If the business was honest and wanted to remain in good standing, then they would offer to thoroughly examine the vehicle to find out what the engine malfunction is and repair it without a charge to me, because clearly they knowingly sold it to me in this condition just three days ago. Even when a vehicle is sold "As is", there is still accountability when the vehicle is misrepresented and malfunctions are not being disclosed when asked (an effort to deceive the customer). Mistakes are made everywhere, but good businesses attempt to make fair amends/ compensate their customers when it is truly just a mistake and not a fraudulent business. This is a poor business practice, and other consumers need to know about it.
