I want to educate the community of Grand Rapids on the fraudulent business practices of Service Professor I needed repairs done on my hot water heater I looked on Home Adviser for a plumber, I wrote down a few names, but unfortunately did not call them, b/c Service Professor called me (They must troll the Home Adviser website searching for potential victims) I also called *** ***They told me that I would likely need a flush and fill and a few repairs - a quick and inexpensive fix When I called their Service Department back, I found they had no available plumbers that same week I called Service Professor back and scheduled a day time apptlater that week The guy came in a quoted me over $1,just to flush my hot water heater and fix one part The part is only $and I found out later that most people can flush their own hot water heater for free They lead me to another option - to replace the hot water heater The technician also noted that my kitchen faucet leaked when he went to test the hot waterSo - he added a new kitchen faucet to my total I also had a gas leak in the line that runs to my kitchen stoveHe said he would fix that also By the end of the day - the Grand total was almost $3, I had no experience with Plumbers and no one to verify the costs Mind you - I never received an itemized detailed bill That is all part of the planTo be as deceptive and as non-transparent as they can When I called the business owner to send me an itemized, detailed bill...he said I was the exception to the rule That his customers "like having everything lumped into one big bill."
Once I got a hold of the the itemized, detailed bill - I found that I was charged over $for a $water heater $for a single faucet, and charged $to pull a permit for the city of *** to perform an inspection on the recently installed Hot water heater(The permit fee is only $55) Service Professor never called the city of *** to make an appointment for the Inspector, and now I can see why Service Professor failed the inspection When I called the owner of Service Professor and presented him with the facts - he treated me in a condescending manner and would not refund my money
NO ONE should ever be ripped off and treated in this manner Please learn from my mistake and do NOT EVER call Service Professor!

I had a bad washing machine hook up Adam had to repairHe fixed not only that but repaired my redneck utility tub hookup, fixed a low pressure kitchen sink faucet and unclogged a slow moving moving drain in my bathroomService Professor is a Superstar in my Book!

I have always had good experiences with The Service Professor but Donte went above and beyond! He came out to check a few outlets that weren't working. Donte not only fixed the outlets for me but when he took apart the electric box there was a mouse nest with live mice. He chased them down and caught them for me and disposed of them and the nest! When we first moved to the Grand Rapids area and wanted some electrical work done we chanced upon The Service Professor and have never been sorry. In one friendly place we have found all the home services we need. Electrical (they even come in and change our fire-detector batteries every year), Heating and A/C and plumbing. Their annual membership is reasonable and I don't worry about anything because I know who to call.
I just had a very professional experience with Steve from the Service Professor. He gave me 4 options with different price ranges,from rebuilding my present shower valve, too replaceing it with top of the line and better warranty Faucet. He completed the work in short order, and then explaned the Professor Protection Plan. Sounds like a very worry free plan for staying ahead of a major breakdown or emergency. Steve was a very pleasant person to talk to and I would call Service Professor again when that unexped break down happens again. Great experance .

Josh and Tony were our installers, and both did an exceptional job. They kept us informed as to their progress, and we were without power for a minimal amount of time. They reviewed everything with us and showed us what to expect with a power outage. At the end of the day, they cleaned everything up, and left or property as they found it.

Adam from The Service Professor came to our home on Saturday October 10th 2015. He had multiple jobs prior to us that day and by the time he got to us he had worked 16 hours arriving just after Midnight. He was awesome from the time he arrived, friendly, polite and very informative. He offered options, explained the cost and even things I could do on my own to try and resolve the issue before we went forward with the repair. I would recommend anyone with plumbing needs to use this company and I would gladly have Adam back to take care any needs I might have with our plumbing in the future.
The Service Professor has great service in all areas. They are trustworthy in their dealings. I recently had Nick come for a plumbing inspection and he did an excellent job in troubleshooting a couple of problems and fixing them. He was friendly, professional, and thorough. I appreciate all of the explanation given and can trust them to do a great job.
