Worst experience I have ever had when dealing with a companyyears into it and they are still causing problemsJust months ago they contact my hydro company and had my person hydro bills forwarded to their office They were then opening my mail and putting it back into a hand written envelop and mailed it back to me I contacted them every time to have it corrected and nothing was done I contact the hydro company myself as I began to get late changes because the bill was also showing up late because of this and had it corrected in minutes Thank goodness my hydro company knows about Grasshopper and has had nothing but problems with them too Overall don't sign with these guys, worst customer service and no support I have emails with their customer service team talking about me behind my back not knowing I was still CC'd on the email trails, when confronted about it everyone went silentNo apology or anything from the senior team [redacted]

[redacted] In the past year I have had solar companies and because I did not hear back from the one, I went ahead with another; unbeknown to me through all the confusion, I received an email saying that I was approved and then received a call from the other, being Grassphopper that said that they could not continue with the application as I had already been a approved I said that's fine She said I have to stop this immediately so that they can go through with their application I asked her to please just leave it as it was as I was in no condition to deal with both of them She said that If I don't do what she said, they were going to sue me As such, I have received an invoice for for cancellation I have no signed contract, only paperwork outlining the process I do not have this kind of moneyI felt that I was being taken advantage of, given my mental status and wish them to c

On Nov4th, I signed up for a contract with Grasshopper [redacted] for installation of [redacted] Panels on my home. This Contract was presented to me by [redacted] of [redacted] acting as Grasshopper's BrokerAt that time I was told that by this agreement I (or any subsequent owner of my home) would receive a discount of 10% on my hydro bill for the duration of the agreement (yrs) On Feb9th2016, on learning that the 10% discount was in fact not true, I requested cancellation of the agreementAt that time I requested that they not charge me the cancellation fews stated in the agreement as I had been given the wrong information at signing Grasshopper refused to listen to my request and stated that any arguement I had was with [redacted] and not with them.I have since made several request that they re-consider position with no results Fearing posible legal action for none payment of the invoice sent to me I have now paid the full amount of th invoice ($2825)

[redacted] we were new homeowners and lacked experience to know when to cancel and agreement and cut your losses Problems with installation and process: Missed first Gov deadline and project was delayed months because the application had to be restarted (they say it was the Gov faultWe believed themBut thought is was funny that we also got a different project manager when they notified us as the other one quit.) During the course of the month installation we had 4-different project managers They lost a chequeWe sent the cheque but as we changed project managers again who knows what happened to itIn the end we moved to direct deposit as we used the same bank Sales person said that the solar panels should be in June or JulyIt was Oct when they were installedWe lost all of the summer months of income Every step of the way we had to call or email them for a progress reportFrom Jan-June we had very little progress so we became more proactiveAfter June, I called or emailed them every weeks to see if we were on trackExThey would say they needed the next payment to proceedWhen we had direct deposited the amount into their back and emailed them weeks prior From the date of the application approval to install you have a set amount of days to get the panels up and active (something like months)We were days from the deadline and we would have lost the government contract and had to reapply and had a different rate Our panels were installed on the back of the house and the garage of the front of the houseWhen they installed the panels, instead of hiding the thick black cable connecting the two sets of panels they ran it right down the middle of the house and garageIt looks horribleBut as we were days from losing our contract we could not fix it or possibly lose the whole contract by delaying the turning on of the panels Three and a half years later Only positive is that I thing we currently have a competent employee looking into our problemsWe just don't like the answers as this is not what the sales person told us Problems We know the solar panels are causing our roof to leak in the garage and now we need someone to come in and see if it is doing the same on the back side of the houseThe warranty of the installation is only good for years and it has been years so my guess will be we will have to foot the billWe are looking into this The "inspection" they told us they did before installing the solar panels were to ensure that the roof and shingles were in good order was not what we thought it was (so we were told)It was an outside only visual inspect to ensure that the roof structurally could support the weight of the panelsWell years later we have to foot the bill to get the panels removed so we can re-shingle the roof and replace the boards that have been damaged by the leakingJust the removal of the panels over the garage will cost us $I hate to know what the cost will be to remove the other panels when we have to do the back side of the house It efficiency of the panels has dropped between 48-64% from this year to last yearNow we get to find out how good the warranty isWe are just starting this process and I don't see it ending well Overall we don't know what to do about the solar panels are they are our single worse purchase for our house and we will never do this againHow many hours and money can we pour into these things when this was suppose to be a simple investment? When the salesman came to our house in May, he had data for my neighbour's house, so he was only here minutes In June a rep, [redacted] called and she had not realized the 'wrong-house' problem but within a couple of days she had emailed me the proposal, which I signed electronically on June and made my downpayment of $towards purchasing the system On June their technician [redacted] spent an hour at my house with a meter On AugI received their proposal indicating a 22.4% drop in the projected revenue compared to the June proposal: this loss is due to shade issues I was very aware of shade issues from my neighbour's tree on my east roof and I knew that he would be open to me paying for its removal I had wanted as many panels as possible to go on my south roof but this proposal but them all on the east roof I was very upset until they informed me that the problem with my south roof was that my neighbour to the south had a roof which would cause sub

We signed a contractual leasing agreement during our meeting with Grasshopper's representative, [redacted] ***, recorded on Saturday August 19, 2017, at 2:18p.m [redacted] did specifically state that although we were signing a contract at the time, the contract would not be valid until we went through with our sales verification call and confirmed agreement with it, and that we were still prepared to proceed We did not go through with our sales verification call, informed Grasshopper that we would not be proceeding, and therefore assumed [redacted] had spoken truthfully, and that we would not be contractually obligated as he had stated we would not be [redacted] also stated that our property insurance would not go up, a claim of which our insurance has stated is false, and it would go up despite the insurance Grasshopper would be providing [redacted] also stated that our property value would go up, even if we sold it in the next couple of years even though we would not own them

Grasshopper solar finished installing the solar panels in our roof on December On December 14th we had rain and noticed leaks on the left side of our house from the eaves trough and also noticed a few dents on the sameImmediately I decided to do an inspection as I was convinced this would get bigger if it was not taking care of right away As expected, I found the eaves trough damaged right exactly where the installers of this company put the ladder to go up and down with the equipment I intermediately contacted customer service explaining the situation and asking for a number or a person to call and explain this issue this was on December 15th I received a response from a person customer service ( [redacted] )on December 22nd she basically told me the information was sent to operations manager ( [redacted] is his name) and he would contact me directly, so I waited for a week and did not hear from them, kept sending emails to the same customer service person asking for a

Problem with this company they never came back with final offer to purchase, I tried to call them multiple times nothingThe estimate was arround 35kBut nothing came back in written Plus I have a problem with the installation I have water coming in the garage and from the roof into the backyardCan't seem to find a ear for help and if I do nothing happens This is my last way to get them to come back with informations come to fix the issues

[redacted] Last summer I called grasshopper, they were the only solar company that REQUESTED that I and my wife be home for the quote, so we took an afternoon off work and guess what they showed up hrs early - yes that is correct HOURSOf course the salesman said it had to be my misunderstanding but quickly changed his tone when I showed him the confirmation email from his company that he was here on the wrong day He gave a great pitch (word of caution here, get EVErYTHING he says that is not on the pamphlets in writing!!, they spin quite a tale but then when you are signed up it all goes back to that original line "you must have misunderstood") So being impressed by great equipment and warranties (although now knowing the company I am doubting this too) I agreed and signed up, promptly paid the depositThe sales man was sure we should be up and running by late DecWell its the end of Feb and nothing on the roof yet, our ordeal continues Our contract which states four payments (1) Security Deposits - (2) Payment after design (3) Installation (4) ESA Approval, well after the design stage they requested the design payment and install payment all in one plus the contract price had an all of a sudden price increase of more than a $over quotedSo after several calls they agreed to the original price sated but still wanted to combine two payments prior to installing or even giving us a date! But once again the agreed to go along with the contract and I paid the 2nd payment within hrs of getting it on my credit cardI was told once I had paid it that I would receive an install dateI received an email notification that they received my payment that dayWell days after my payment I get a call once again from Grasshopper asking how I wanted to pay for that payment that I had paid days earlier, I said you got to be kidding I paid it promptly with in hoursShe says oh don't have a record of that! Oh my I told her I have credit card statements and a receipt from your company and I was still patiently waiting for my install dateShe said they wouldn't give an install date till I had made that paymentI told her to check with her financial department she said she would call me backWell that night I got a thank you email saying thanks for that payment but now they want the third payment prior to install, and the date they are giving is tentative So they lure you in, string you along, deliver NO client care, but want your moneyI thought I did some research including checking first here on the Revdex.com website but their rating should have shown a failing gradeupon searching on [redacted] I see that I am not alone with extreme dissatisfaction I am still not even sure if I will EVER get this thing installed, I have already put thousands into this company and they want awhole lot more and I still have nothing to show for it [redacted] I had three quote Grasshopper was by far the most expensive but they promised sooo muchLOL

we had the panels put on our roof last yearAfter we went through winter we say a HUGE problem with snow sliding off the roof We don't want our cars or neighbour hurt so we contacted Grasshopper to fix this They said in June they would and THEY DO NOT ANSWER THEIR PHONE OR RETURN EMAILS OR PHONE CALLS We feel this is a [redacted] company in that they will not back their product or make sure it is safeThey have not returned our calls since June We are going to have these removed from our roof immediately ***

Problems with installation and process:
Missed first Gov deadline and project was delayed months because the application had to be restarted (they say it was the Gov faultWe believed themBut thought is was funny that we also got a different project manager when they notified us as the other one quit.)
During the course of the month installation we had 4-different project managers
They lost a chequeWe sent the cheque but as we changed project managers again who knows what happened to itIn the end we moved to direct deposit as we used the same bank
Sales person said that the solar panels should be in June or JulyIt was Oct when they were installedWe lost all of the summer months of income
Every step of the way we had to call or email them for a progress reportFrom Jan-June we had very little progress so we became more proactiveAfter June, I called or emailed them every weeks to see if we were on trackExThey would say they needed the next payment to proceedWhen we had direct deposited the amount into their back and emailed them weeks prior
From the date of the application approval to install you have a set amount of days to get the panels up and active (something like months)We were days from the deadline and we would have lost the government contract and had to reapply and had a different rate
Our panels were installed on the back of the house and the garage of the front of the houseWhen they installed the panels, instead of hiding the thick black cable connecting the two sets of panels they ran it right down the middle of the house and garageIt looks horribleBut as we were days from losing our contract we could not fix it or possibly lose the whole contract by delaying the turning on of the panels
Three and a half years later
Only positive is that I thing we currently have a competent employee looking into our problemsWe just don't like the answers as this is not what the sales person told us
Problems
We know the solar panels are causing our roof to leak in the garage and now we need someone to come in and see if it is doing the same on the back side of the houseThe warranty of the installation is only good for years and it has been years so my guess will be we will have to foot the billWe are looking into this
The "inspection" they told us they did before installing the solar panels were to ensure that the roof and shingles were in good order was not what we thought it was (so we were told)It was an outside only visual inspect to ensure that the roof structurally could support the weight of the panelsWell years later we have to foot the bill to get the panels removed so we can re-shingle the roof and replace the boards that have been damaged by the leakingJust the removal of the panels over the garage will cost us $I hate to know what the cost will be to remove the other panels when we have to do the back side of the house
It efficiency of the panels has dropped between 48-64% from this year to last yearNow we get to find out how good the warranty isWe are just starting this process and I don't see it ending well
Overall we don't know what to do about the solar panels are they are our single worse purchase for our house and we will never do this againHow many hours and money can we pour into these things when this was suppose to be a simple investment?

Problem with this company they never came back with final offer to purchase, I tried to call them multiple times nothingThe estimate was arround 35kBut nothing came back in written

I signed a contract for solar panels, under the Microfit Program, with Grasshopper Solar. The contract says that the first time I have to my roof, Grasshopper will cover the cost provided I use a roofer of their choiceThe panels were installed in Spring
In Spring I contacted Grasshopper to redo my roof and was provided with a quote of $6,500, which includes removal and re-installation of existing panels
When I contacted other roofers, the quotes were a lot less than $6500, the lowest one for $4,
I also asked about doing a metal roof, and was told that the quote would be over $18,I then said that I got a quote for metal roof for $14,500, if I could go with my rooferI was told verbally that I would have to pay $2,for removal and re-installationAfter calculating that with a metal roof, I would not have to go through the removal/re-installation again in 12+years, I decided to go with my roofer and pay the $2,although I thought it was not fair tha
