Grasshopper Solar Reviews (49)

*** In the past year I have had solar companies and because I did not hear back from the one, I went ahead with another; unbeknown to me through all the confusion, I received an email saying that I was approved and then received a call from the other, being Grassphopper that said that they could not continue with the application as I had already been a approved I said that's fine She said I have to stop this immediately so that they can go through with their application I asked her to please just leave it as it was as I was in no condition to deal with both of them She said that If I don't do what she said, they were going to sue me As such, I have received an invoice for for cancellation I have no signed contract, only paperwork outlining the process I do not have this kind of moneyI felt that I was being taken advantage of, given my mental status and wish them to c

I entered into contract with *** *** on 15/9/to install solar panels with the microfit programMy understanding from Mr *** was that it would cost a few hundred dollars to remove and re-install the productHe said he would check to be sure and get back to usI never heard backWhen contacted by a project manager I asked them about the fee, she promptly got back with a price of $2,This is not an acceptable price at today's rate can't imagine what it might be in yearsI then emailed my reply that I did not wish to continue with them
This was 10/20/Today I was contacted and told that they will charge a $2,cancelation feeI was never told about the fee being $and do not feel that the paperwork justifies a $fee

Grasshopper solar finished installing the solar panels in our roof on December On December 14th we had rain and noticed leaks on the left side of our house from the eaves trough and also noticed a few dents on the sameImmediately I decided to do an inspection as I was convinced this would get bigger if it was not taking care of right away
As expected, I found the eaves trough damaged right exactly where the installers of this company put the ladder to go up and down with the equipment
I intermediately contacted customer service explaining the situation and asking for a number or a person to call and explain this issue this was on December 15th I received a response from a person customer service (***)on December 22nd she basically told me the information was sent to operations manager (*** is his name) and he would contact me directly, so I waited for a week and did not hear from them, kept sending emails to the same customer service person asking for a

On Nov4th, I signed up for a contract with Grasshopper *** for installation of *** Panels on my home. This Contract was presented to me by *** *** of *** *** *** acting as Grasshopper's BrokerAt that time I was told that by this agreement I (or any subsequent owner of my home) would receive a discount of 10% on my hydro bill for the duration of the agreement (yrs)
On Feb9th2016, on learning that the 10% discount was in fact not true, I requested cancellation of the agreementAt that time I requested that they not charge me the cancellation fews stated in the agreement as I had been given the wrong information at signing
Grasshopper refused to listen to my request and stated that any arguement I had was with *** *** and not with them.I have since made several request that they re-consider position with no results
Fearing posible legal action for none payment of the invoice sent to me I have now paid the full amount of th invoice ($2825)

we had the panels put on our roof last yearAfter we went through winter we say a HUGE problem with snow sliding off the roof We don't want our cars or neighbour hurt so we contacted Grasshopper to fix this They said in June they would and THEY DO NOT ANSWER THEIR PHONE OR RETURN EMAILS OR PHONE CALLS
We feel this is a *** company in that they will not back their product or make sure it is safeThey have not returned our calls since June We are going to have these removed from our roof immediately

I had to do the cleanup, I had to schedule the contractors, I had to get the permits picked up. The OPA approval expired! Its funny, they were so nice until I signed the contract, then their customer service was horrible. A 27 panel solar installation took them almost 3 years to complete. They routinely didn't show up for appointments and when confront responded by email with "that appointment was not confirmed"...call me crazy but when someone says I'll be here at this time, they are there at that time, Grasshopper solar personnel apparently didn't feel the same. Didn't clean up after themselves when they did the installation. The project reps, of whom I had 5(one was an unpaid intern), never actually came to the job site. 2 years later they finally finished, almost had to sue them. In the end the CFO called me and compensated me for the interest costs for the 3 years and the contractor costs I had to pay because they threatened charge stop they job if I did not comply. I should have gone with another solar installer, don't make the same mistake. Read the [redacted] words on the 2 pages of small print at the end that put conditions and limitations on everything they just offered, including a limitation of liability

Did extensive research and scheduled meetings with several companies before I finally made my mind to actually go with it. Dave at Grasshopper Solar was very knowledgeable, professional and answered tons of questions I had, all to my satisfaction. After the smooth paperwork, the installation process was quick and seamless. Panels look beautiful on my roof and I jump to see my reduced electricity bills every month. Thanks to you Grasshopper Solar!

Never gave me receipt for the 30K I paid for the project.
Since I declared it as a business to the CRA to get the HST back i'm going to report them to the CRA.
Hope they go out of business.
