Do not response in reasonable time to complaints

*** ***
***I was declined by the microfit program but only after enduring a huge hassleThe shame of it all was - I wasn't eligible from the get go because my local transmission lines could not handle the capacityThis is the FIRST calculation grasshopper should have done - during the initial assessment phase

I can not find the contract this is why I am complaing as I tried to call grasshopper solar their number is out of service I need to reach them to get a copy of the contract as I sold my home And with out the contract the sale on my home will not be firm

Keep getting constant phone calls and messages sometimes 3x a day on my cellI am not a customer in fact I've never contacted them or sourced out a like business I have left messages with the company to remove my number and they continue to phone me multiple times a day EVERY business day

Our experience with Grasshopper Solar has thus far been very positive
We applied last year, under the lease optionAnd after the site evaluation, we were initially advised that our location would not qualify under the government micro-fit solar program for technical reasons Disappointing
We went on vacation out of the country and received a notice that the project was now approved but within a time limitAs my location seems to be the first on our street I was not really surprised and readily agreed to proceed
Grasshopper Solar completed the installation of the panels while we were still on vacation and were careful to schedule the cut-over shortly after we returned Their customer service group was particularly helpfulThe system is now connected awaiting the installation of the additional generator meter and startup
As a retired electrical engineer, I can appreciate the number of gyrations with the government and local hydro bureaucracies that Grasshopper Solar has had to endureI am also impressed that the equipment is really the state-of-art in direct PV feto the grid Well done, Grasshopper Solar and sub-contractors
At some point I may well be very happy to buy the system installation from Grasshopper Solar and enjoy the net reduction on my own hydro billWe will wait and see how fast future electrical rates go up
My thanks to Grasshopper Solar and its stock holders for this visionary and inventive program to help move Ontario into a distributed generation future
Looking forward to seeing the system in operation

I am an environmentalist- and thought that considering solar panels with Grasshopper would be beneficial to me and the environment The sales person from Grasshopper was very nice - but failed to detail the process of installing the solar panelsWe could purchase the panels for $27,or just rent our roof for $for a period of years after which the solar panels belong to us We did not have $27,so we chose the other option We thought we were doing a good thing for the environment- any monetary gains was so minimal as to be a jokeAny benefits from the power generated woulg belong to Grasshopper The fine print in the contract was so small and the salesperson told us Grasshopper takes care of everything We did let the salesperson know we needed to change our roof and he assured us that Grasshopper would remove and reinstall at their expense
We were not told that Grasshopper had to access our electrical panel, would be drilling through our wall and putting up huge cables along the side of our wall attached to the bricks They also did not tell us we had to take time off work at our expense to have the hydro company inspect the electrical workWe requested payment for taking a day off so that hydro could come in ( they only inspect during working hours) and they refused - citing we signed a contract and had to abide by the rules of the contract or get sued
Grasshopper even asked if they could use our wifi for free to monitor the power being generate by the solar panels - we said no because at this point we were totally upset and fed up with them And so regretting ever letting the salesperson into our houseNot to mention signing that damned misleading contract
This year we wanted to install a new metal roof and was told we had to use their installer - who quoted us three times the amount of moneyOur quote was for $13,000, Grasshopper agent quoted us $30, If we did not go with their installer - we had to pay to remove and reinstall the solar panels at a cost of $to us- money we have to pay out of our pockets So basically Grasshopper is using our roof for free
It has been approximately one year since we have had the solar panels installed - which has now turned into a NIGHTMARE We are pensioners - and certainly feel we are being taken advantage of - ***
In addition, when it snowed last year, the snow slid off the solar panels in huge chunks causing a very unsafe situation in front of the garage and side entrance to the house Sometimes we were barely able to remove the snow We complained to Grasshopper and they eventually installed snow-guards to slow the slide of snow off the roof - so we'll see how that works this winter - heavy snowfall is predicted for this winter
Right now we would like to change our roof and install a metal roof which would last a long time being that our biggest investment is our house and we would like to improve on that investment We spent our lives saving and planning for home ownership and now being told that we have to pay for someone to use our roof - with no benefits to the homeowner
It is true, we signed the contract but the salesperson was very misleading, Grasshopper did not follto explain exactly what was involved and we were very ignorant as to the process involved in solar panels installation We were very unaware and ignorant and now feel very upset, frustrated and powerless
I would advise anyone considering Grasshopper's Solar Panels to ask a lot of questions, get a lawyer to review the contract and NEVER, EVER sign anything especially if it involves a long term contract We thought we were doing something good for the environment - now being threatened with legal action and having to pay out of our pocket to remove and reinstall the solar panels - now the NIGHTMARE of our lives

Any suggestions from anyone with similar experiences is quite welcomed We still have not come to a decision about our roof so hopefully it doesn't deteriorate in the coming winter months WE CERTAINLY DO NOT WANT TO PAY OUT OF OUR POCKET TO THIS COMPANY

Thank you

I moved into ** *** Drive Hamilton Ontario *** on December The previous owner of the house had solar panels installed by Grasshopper and as part of the purchase agreement of the property, I had to sign off on the contract being transferred over to meAll paper work prepared and requested by Grasshopper Solar, was signed by me and the previous owner, and contract transferred under my nameAs far as I knew, the process was complete
I hear nothing from Grasshopper Dec-JuneDuring this time, the cheques I receive from ***, I cashedI assumed they were mine since I assumed paper work with grasshopper was doneIn June they call me to tell me I was supposed to have signed a Grasshopper money direction order and sent it to *** Utilities so the electricity generation cheques wouldn't be made under my name and to my address! They had seven months to tell me that but failedNo calls, letters, messages, brochures, new customer information packets, instructions, noth

*** *** Last summer I called grasshopper, they were the only solar company that REQUESTED that I and my wife be home for the quote, so we took an afternoon off work and guess what they showed up hrs early - yes that is correct HOURSOf course the salesman said it had to be my misunderstanding but quickly changed his tone when I showed him the confirmation email from his company that he was here on the wrong day
He gave a great pitch (word of caution here, get EVErYTHING he says that is not on the pamphlets in writing!!, they spin quite a tale but then when you are signed up it all goes back to that original line "you must have misunderstood") So being impressed by great equipment and warranties (although now knowing the company I am doubting this too) I agreed and signed up, promptly paid the depositThe sales man was sure we should be up and running by late DecWell its the end of Feb and nothing on the roof yet, our ordeal continues
Our contract which states four payments (1) Security Deposits - (2) Payment after design (3) Installation (4) ESA Approval, well after the design stage they requested the design payment and install payment all in one plus the contract price had an all of a sudden price increase of more than a $over quotedSo after several calls they agreed to the original price sated but still wanted to combine two payments prior to installing or even giving us a date!
But once again the agreed to go along with the contract and I paid the 2nd payment within hrs of getting it on my credit cardI was told once I had paid it that I would receive an install dateI received an email notification that they received my payment that dayWell days after my payment I get a call once again from Grasshopper asking how I wanted to pay for that payment that I had paid days earlier, I said you got to be kidding I paid it promptly with in hoursShe says oh don't have a record of that! Oh my I told her I have credit card statements and a receipt from your company and I was still patiently waiting for my install dateShe said they wouldn't give an install date till I had made that paymentI told her to check with her financial department she said she would call me backWell that night I got a thank you email saying thanks for that payment but now they want the third payment prior to install, and the date they are giving is tentative
So they lure you in, string you along, deliver NO client care, but want your moneyI thought I did some research including checking first here on the Revdex.com website but their rating should have shown a failing gradeupon searching on *** I see that I am not alone with extreme dissatisfaction
I am still not even sure if I will EVER get this thing installed, I have already put thousands into this company and they want awhole lot more and I still have nothing to show for it*** I had three quote Grasshopper was by far the most expensive but they promised sooo muchLOL

In June I had solar panels installed by Grasshopper Solar on the roof of my homeI signed the rental agreement which would pay me $total and would not require me to pay any money instead Grasshopper solar rented my roof for years and will collect income earned from the generated electricity in return for the $they pay to meAfter the year lease ownership of the solar panel system is turned over to meI received a cheque for from Grasshopper for the first $in July of and was told when we were hooked up to the grid I would receive the balance of $My system was hooked up to grid in August of and I have not received the $I was promised as of yetThey have given my nothing but excuses that seem to make no sense to me at allAfter many email exchanges they told me my name was spelled wrong on the ESA contract and that was the reason for the delayI asked for a contact number or email for the ESA so I could speak with them directly about th

Grasshopper solar installed and there was damages made when cutting parts in the side of the house Damage to the roof, side under roof from last may and they kept saying will be fixed but not fixed until now
Only one damage has been fixed since last yeara pipe put on top of the meter that was done needs to be piped...etc
several staff plus ceo was contacted for the damagesCEO said give it until January, it is now MayThey also have really bad communication; I have called several times and never get call backs and my concerns are not addressed
The house is now being transferred to my daughter and this repair needs to be fixed asap

Signed up with grasshopper solar panelBut I want to cancel my contract before they install themI was not told that rinstallation warranty is for 3years, was not told that if my roof goes I have to go with their roofing companyIf I don't go with their roofers I have to pay 2,out of my own pocketI mentioned to my house insurance company about getting this installed and they will not be able to insure my homeGrasshoppers know wants to charge me 2,To cancel this contract when nothing has been done until nowI signed with them at end of oct of We ars now in mid January and I've texted the sales person I signed with times since November And once to grasshopper company only got a call on the of January I'm waiting on disability or over a year now only my wife worksI don't have that kind of money to payWhat can I do?

GRASSHOPPER SOLAR IS IN A LEASE CONTRACT WITH MY PROPERTY LEASE CHEQUES ARE MISSING
THE COMPANY SIGNED LEASE CONTRACT WITH PREVIOUS OWNER, AND WE OCCUPIED THE PROPERTY SINCE FEB 6, 2015, AND WE SIGNED THE ASSIGNMENT AT THE LAWYERS THE SAME DAYAFTER VERY LENGTH, BACK ADN FORTH PROCESS, THEY FINALLY CHANGED TO OUR NAMESHOWEVER THEY STILL CUT THE FIRST CHEQUE TO THE PREVIOUS OWNER, *** ***I'VE BEEN DEALING WITH THEIR ACCOUNTANT *** *** MANY TIMES, AS WELL AS CALLING THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE, THEY SAID THEY WOULD MAKE UP THAT PAYMENTHOWEVER, SO FAR, I ONLY GOT QUARTERS LEASE CHEQUES PAYMENTS IN AUG 2015, AND QUARTER PAYMENT IN OCTOBER, TOTAL PAYMENTSSO I'M MISSING PAYMENT FOR NOW IS ALREADY MARCH 2016, I SHOULD HAVE GOT MY 1ST PAYMENT, AND STILL GOT NOTHINGTHIS COMPANY IS NOT PROFESSIONAL AT ALL, THEY TOOK COUPLE OF MONTHS TO MAKE THINGS RIGHTAND THEIR PAYMENT SCHEDULE IS ALWAYS NOT FOLLOWED

In June Grasshopper Solar installed solar panels on the roof of my rental I signed up for the rental agreement which did not require me to pay any money out and Grasshopper solar would pay me $and basically rent my roof for years and collect the dividends from *** In July I received a cheque for $and was told when we were hooked up to the grid I would receive the balance of $ In August our system was hooked up to grid I have yet to receive the $ They have given my nothing but a run around blaming *** and the fat that the house is a rental and the tentants pay *** there is an issue with government ect This house is a semi detached and I talked my neighbour into this as well since we share a roor He is in the same boat Yet he doesnt have tenants He has not been paid yet either He is given same run around that they misspelled his name on contract I threatened Grasshopper saying they were in breach of contract and they basically told me

Didn't like the way they dealt with usNot professional at all

Everything started out fine and was ok for over a year however all of a sudden I get a letter indicating my accounts was "delinquent" and I needed to make payments immediatelyI was concerned because as per the contract I never had to do anything and on occasion Grasshopper would send me a checki was in contact with the sender right away to try and clear things upI was told That they were not receiving certain things fro my Hydro company (they had been but then it stopped?) I was confused and they did very little to clear up my confusion but told me to contact my hydro company to clear it upI did that and my hydro company told me that they were directing all moneys and info into the account as directed by GrasshopperThey even offered to contact Grasshopper on my behalf which they did by e-mail and by phoneI then spoke with the Grasshopper rep and believed that we were making progress clearing things upHowever I then received another notice, a 2nd notice telling me that the

We signed a contractual leasing agreement during our meeting with Grasshopper's representative, *** ***, recorded on Saturday August 19, 2017, at 2:18p.m *** *** did specifically state that although we were signing a contract at the time, the contract would not be valid until we went through with our sales verification call and confirmed agreement with it, and that we were still prepared to proceed
We did not go through with our sales verification call, informed Grasshopper that we would not be proceeding, and therefore assumed *** had spoken truthfully, and that we would not be contractually obligated as he had stated we would not be
*** *** also stated that our property insurance would not go up, a claim of which our insurance has stated is false, and it would go up despite the insurance Grasshopper would be providing
*** *** also stated that our property value would go up, even if we sold it in the next couple of years even though we would not own them

I entered into a contract with Grasshopper on May 11, to participate in a Free Solar Program that included an incentive of Gross Rent of $400/year for years, payable on the Connection Date, and every anniversary date thereof for the duration of the term The panels were installed and a connection date of November 12, was scheduled They came on said date to connect the system and I was informed that it would be commissioned on a later date, and this step did not require any assistance from the home owner I contacted Grasshopper Dec8, as I had not received the incentive as per the contractI was told that until the project was cleared, I would not receive my first installment I continued to contact them requesting updates etcand started to get frustrated with the lack of responses I made several attempts both by email and telephone and received no responses On Dec23, my project was terminated as per the IESO Portal (tracking of the project) Agai

I did a lot of research and met with a number of companies before deciding to go with Grasshopper for solar panels under the MicroFit program Everything seemed to be going well until I decided I'd rather earn the revenue from the power generated myself instead of "renting" my roof to Grasshopper At that point, communications ceased Numerous calls went unanswered, and when I did manage to get a response from an actual person, I was told they were "looking into the delay" Months later I was finally told my roof was not eligible for the program This was AFTER I received the initial contract, had confirmation of grid capabilities, and approval from my local distribution company The moment I wanted to buy the panels outright rather than allow Grasshopper to receive the bulk of the money paid by the government based on the power my location generated, my project was no longer suitableSince I already had an active application with IESO, I couldn't look at alternative options Now the program had expired and my application terminated since the 180-day limit has passed Needless to say, I am very disappointed *** *** *** *** ***

*** They have terrible customer serviceOnce you sign the contract, that is the last they care to make sure you are happyNot only do they make misleading statements about the contract, they refuse to make sure the work is done properly and come back and fix it***
