Dear Revdex.com,In response to Mr. [redacted]’s rebuttal, the additional money and time Mr. [redacted] is referring to pertains to his 2012 and possibly his 2013 tax return in which neither returns were prepared by H&R Block. As for the 2010 tax return prepared at a franchise office, the tax authority notice presented to the office was dated 2/13/2012. A claim was submitted on the client’s behalf on 2/29/2012. The claim was approved and a check was sent on 3/20/2012 within the allotted timeframe per the terms and conditions of the Peace of Mind® Extended Service Plan warranty (“Warranty”) which states in part: Once the final determination has been made with the tax authority, and if additional taxes are owed due to H&R Block's error, the office will submit your claim to the Peace of Mind Claims Department where it will be reviewed and processed within four to six weeks. It is the franchisee’s belief that this matter has been addressed and that there is no further due diligence on their part concerning Mr. [redacted]’s 2010 tax return. We trust this response will allow your office to close your file. However, should you have additional questions or desire to discuss this matter further, please do not hesitate to contact me. Sincerely, [redacted]Associate Business AnalystH&R Block

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
I have proof that I have prepared my tax return with H&R Block every year since 2008. I tried to contact the same office where I prepared my tax return for 2010 and 2011 years but they said that due to a system migration, it was no longer available in the system. At that time I was told that all hard copies were moved to another facility.H&R Block still have a copy of my 2010 tax return but they are refusing to provide it since it will require some work to locate it. How are consumers or tax payers supposed to use their services if information will get lost? It is H&R Block responsibility to provide me a copy of my 2010 tax return. I do have a full copy of my 2011 tax return and a receipt only of my 2010 tax return. If proof is what's needed, I can provide.
Regards,
[redacted]

Dear Revdex.com,In response to Ms. [redacted]’s rebuttal and to provide further clarity, our records reflect that Ms. [redacted] filed her 2015 tax return online using H&R Block’s Best of Both product. The product allows our customers to file a tax return by partnering with an H&R Block tax professional. Please be advised that per the terms and conditions of H&R Block’s refund bonus promotion, Ms. [redacted] does not meet the criteria outlined under the “How The Program Works” section which states in part: Without limitation, you are not eligible to participate in the Program if any of the following apply to you: (a) you elect to print your completed return from one of our products and mail it to the IRS; (b) you use H&R Block Best of Both® and elect to file your return with an H&R Block tax professional; (c) you cannot or refuse to comply with all terms and conditions set forth in this document; or (d) you are not of the age of majority for your state of residence. We sincerely regret any misunderstandings that Ms. [redacted] may have had as it relates to our Refund Bonus Program. I am rejecting this response because their statement is untrue. They spoke with me on February 20, 2017. During this time, I spoke with someone named [redacted]. She told me that they refunded my money for the online product and that they would be willing to file my taxes again next year. I declined. I told her I would like a refund for the costs of filing the amended return with the retail store as directed by the help desk. I will again reach out to H&R Block as requested. However, untruthfulness on their part is not appreciated.

H&R Block needs to do there job and not avoiding my incorrect Tax claim filed by them. I have tried and tried to make things right with management in regards to H&R Block. I wouldn't have went there if they were gonna charge me for my taxes. Seeing how it says that 1040ez federal filing is FREE! Never told me that income tax credit was charged a fee! So they need to give me a full Refund due to the fact that they messed up on my tax paperwork. I am trying to be civil here and human and having my legal rights violated is wrong and needs to be adressed. 100 percent accurate in filing taxes is what H&R Block stands by and its illegal to break the law on False advertising.

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the response. If no reason is received your complaint will be closed as Assumed Answered]As noted from H&R Block to Revdex.com a check refunding the tax preparation fee for 2013 taxes was sent on June 3, 2016. As of today, June 13, 2016 I have not received the refund check. I cannot accept their resolution until the refund check arrives.

Dear Revdex.com,In resolution to this compliant, our record reflects that Mr. [redacted]’s 2013 tax return preparation fees that he requested to be deducted from his federal tax refund has not been paid and is therefore considered debt. Our records reflect that the Internal Revenue Service...
(IRS) did not release Mr. [redacted]’s 2013 tax refund to the Refund Account setup to deduct his fees. As a result, the fees owed to H&R Block were not paid. We understand that there may be several reasons why this occurred, including: (i) The client’s federal tax refund may have been diverted by the IRS to repay unpaid federal/state income taxes, child support, and/or student loan debt. (ii) The IRS may have sent the federal tax refund directly to our client, instead of depositing the funds into the Refund Account. (iii) The IRS may have delayed the processing of our client’s tax return. (iv)The IRS may have reduced our client’s expected tax refund amount. Please be advised that Mr. [redacted] did not return to H&R Block in 2015 to have his 2014 tax return prepared. However, when Mr. [redacted] returned this year to H&R Block we prepared his 2015 tax return. As of date, fees associated with the 2015 tax return remains unpaid. Per the terms of the Federal Refund Anticipation Check (“RAC”), our client agreed to pay the fees immediately in the event that fees remain unpaid for a period of 21 days from the IRS accepting the tax returns. Additionally note that during the preparation of Mr. [redacted]’s 2015 tax return, he was reminded by his tax professional of a prior year 2013 debt to which he did not agree. Mr. [redacted] had the opportunity at that time to dispute the debt by filing out the necessary dispute form but he declined. We regret any misunderstandings that Mr. [redacted] has as it relates to our tax preparation service. However, the fact remains that we have provided a service that involved the preparation of two tax returns that have not been paid. We assure you that we take the concerns of our clients seriously and make every effort to resolve matters thoroughly and fairly. If you should need anything further or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Sincerely, Quintina M[redacted]Associate Business AnalystH&R Block
Dear Revdex.com,In resolution of this matter, Ms. [redacted]’s claim has been approved for the full amount requested in her complaint, as the $35.00 overdraft fee check has been previously sent. The check for the remainder of fees will be sent out on Friday, March 28, 2017. As a result, we...

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because, the district manager called me to assure me that my information would be deleted from H&R records as I had previously requested. Had I not filed a report I am positive I would not have received a call back that my wishes would be honored. Additionally the District Manager said he would have the Manager of the branch call me to go over the fees. When pressed as to why I did not receive a written form stating fees I was told the fees were posted behind the receptionist. At no point in time was I ever directed to that area to view the fees so that I could make an informed decision as to whether or not I wish to proceed. It was only after spending two hrs there and going over my simple 1040Z form, FormIT-201Schedule Schedule D and Health Savings Form 8889 thatI got hit with a sticker price of $380 which was written down for me on a slip. No Breakdown of fees per form. I also wish to mention that all my previous tax preparation over the years was done by a CPA and I was charged $200. The gentleman I saw wasn't a CPA he was a tax preparer. At the time I filed my complaint I did not know that he made a error on my forms that the CPA caught. He didn't catch the ATM and his proposed state figure was different than the CPA's.I reject the comment that H&R has sophisticated systems in place that are used to cross check and compile figures. This is the excuse I was given to charge me an extra $30 for "a form" to figure out my IRA contribution. That is inaccurate as the figure was a line entry figured out by using AGI and a clients age to max out a deductible contribution. I was then told that the tax preparer would speak to his boss about possibly lowering my $410 fee which supposedly included the $25 discount. NEVER HAPPENED.Upon hearing these outrageous prices and having been in the financial industry for over 35 years, I knew that I needed to go elsewhere, and seeked out a CPA who by the way charged me $175.To be clear I am not seeking any damages. I simply want H&R Block to be more truthful in their pricing and since the are a neighborhood business, be better business partners. As the H&R Tax preparer said "Don't shoot the messenger" yet who in their right mind would pay $410 for a tax return that costs $175 $200 max? I am asking that you post my complaint to the website.

I am rejecting this response because:In the beginning; everything this man [redacted] is saying is false and untruthful, he called me and say that he needs to see the document that was sent to me by the IRS in which said. That the dependent that I had was incorrect and, can not have it as dependent; and needed to be corrected, in which I said that I have three from the IRS; but those where just bills that was sent to me after Mr. [redacted]rey made the amended. He insisted that he needs to see the such document at the point that, didn't want to talk to him. That document never existed, that was just a way to get away from the mistake made by such H&R office.2nd. I never went and said that was my child, that's another lie from [redacted]; that child is my fiance's son in which I have sent money to him and I have proof of it.I never provide a false statement saying that I supported him with the $4,000.00 a year in which [redacted] said that I told to the tax "professional".The state never denied the dependent because Mr. [redacted]rey caught the error of Mrs.[redacted].Mr.[redacted]rey which I believe he is really a professional went thru, all the papers that Mrs.[redacted] did and he did found out that the social security was not working. So he amended all the forms. ( he corrected the mistake that Mrs.[redacted] did).[redacted] is just a jerk, trying to defend one of the own and he doesn't know how to solve problems; I can't believe that [redacted] is the District General Manager, cause he didn't show Professionalism and Education and willing to solve this matter. At last he told me, that without the document from the IRS he couldn't help me and hung up.Another thing is that Mr.[redacted]rey took every single copy of all I had.,and the paper that [redacted] wanted wasn't there. And you know why cause never existed right [redacted]?
