Please close your doors if the employees want to just come to work to clock in and lock the doors.

Not satisfactory
Sold a house and had capital gains involved and wasn't familiar enough. Did tax and said I owed 15000.00. I said capital gains for single is like 300000.00. They E filed and later that evening said it was mistake. 13000.00 mistake. Then now I have the after-effects of mailing and wondering 🤔 💭. 275.00 I was charged. Then told 16.00 for federal penalties filing amended return. Not happy. When to pay state and the numbers where not same. Called the woman and was given State number to call. I'm not happy

In addition to wanting my documents back, including all the documents related to the house I just purchased, I WANT A FULL REFUND FOR ALL THE AGGRAVATION AND STRESS I have suffered!

STOLE ALL MY DOCUMENTS
For my 2020 tax return, I hired Nathaniel Lee from H&R Block in Alexandria, VA. What an irresponsible disaster this has been!

I NEVER received my supporting documents back after the agent kept them. I have CALLED H&R block 19 times . . . yes, 19 times asking that H&R Block return my documents to me via U.S. Mail. I bought a house in 2020 and had many house-related documents that I need and want! H&R Block has ignored my repeated phone calls to the point that I want to take H&R Block to court. It has STOLEN my property!

Do not use H&R Block if you value your documentation.

They screwed up my taxes and the IRS came after me for $2800. I got ahold of H & R block and they said they were handling it. 8 months later, I got ahold of the IRS, and paid the $2800. H & R block will not answer my calls or emails. They showed a total lack of committment to their customers and DO NOT stand behind their work. They deserve no stars. This was the local branch in Ferndale, Washington. Nowhere, can I find a corporate number to go up the food chain. I made an appointment at a different branch and when I went to the scheduled appointment, nobody was there.

Two years trying take this tax course
My issue started last year trying to take this course. I paid the money, and nobody would ever respond back to me about getting my course book. I dont like being behind, it's hard to catch up; esp when you are making arrangements for a newborn and three year old so you can take the course. I get no response back about my issue, I am getting emails from them but they are not responding back or fixing my issue. That was I couldnt get into the back login to get my book made at staples or office max. The class is here, I have no book, no time to get inside to practice on using the system. I put going back to work on hold until this class was over, paying for a sitter etc...I try logging in day one, and two, and everything is bad. I decide that it was too much for me to handle right now, I will try again, I mean I still had no book. I couldnt get into to even the block academy site to do anything. I call and ask for a refund. Guess what I am calling, emailing, emailing the teacher and nothing. Dragging it out because they have deductions and they were maliciously dragging out the time. Fast forward a year. It starts out the same. I email them nothing, I call no answer. Then I get an emailing saying they will deduction fifty dollars for this years tuition. Im like ok thats great ok I will move forward with this the lady spoke with was great. She's been great! Everything is sold at this point, Im in doing work, got my ebook...things are great. Then I get a snotty email from a Manager or whatever she is, stating, that I never informed them of my issue etc etc...Just total bull, immature, condescending, rude, and out right malicious. I responsded. I get kicked from my login, a email stating ive been refunded. She lies, steals, rude, and I get kicked. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

A total mess!
July 8 2020 made an appt Yakima office. Had someone in training. Needed an amended 2020 tax return for a 1040 return and needed to file for 2019. I knew I didn't owe anything but was going to purchase a home with my daughter. Lender wanted two years of tax returns. Did the 2020 amended, was told there would not be a charge for that, and made appt for the 15th to do the 2019. Had different person in training at that appt. Left the office and paid $99.00. Sent to my lender. Lender notice a mistake with a date on the 2019 return. Went into Yakima 8/12, office and met with Jay. This is where I found out the taxes had not been e-filed, the folder was lost, the 2020 amended was done on the wrong form. Numbers didn't match up and just a cluster f[censored]! Also Jay questioned me about paying the $99.00. and asked about the payment for 2020. I told Jay that I was told they would not charge for the 2020 amended tax return. That I would do a snap shot of the $99.00 taken out of my account. So glad Jay question me about the payment, as when I went to my account it was taken out twice. Jay made an appt with Kyle for Sat.8/14. I texted Kyle to cancel the appt, as I needed to get again from SSI the 1099 for 2019. Called corporate to file a complaint and made an appt for the 08/17 for 3PM. I told he person that I didn't want anyone in training. She went through her list and said Kyle had 4 years so I said OK. Showed up for the appt. Kyle was there and I asked him if he received my text cancelling the appt. He said NO, I must of sent it to his work number. There was a cell phone number for Kyle and I believe that number was 509-619 5509. Recording said the wireless customer was unreachable try later. Kyle told me I didn't have an appt. with him. And he was glib about it. Checked my email for the conformation and the appt. was with someone else who was not at the office. Kyle told me I would have to make an appt. Kyle did nothing to smooth the situation over. Not only glib, but condescending and smug. I hope the office has video camera that captured his attitude. Went to my car to get my cell phone to show him the conformation. He didn't say where this person was or why they were not there for a scheduled appt. For a month I believed that my taxes were filed. I was livid with Kyle and Kyle said I had his card and it was obvious that he was not interested in solving what was my fourth trip to H&R block. Kyle knew I was mad and when I went out the door he very smugly said have a nice day. I called the corporate office again and of course this was a dead end. I saw a link for a chat. I was given a phone number to call. I let the chat lady know I was done and hanging up after an hour and a half on hold. After waiting on hold for almost 2 hours I ended the call. So now H&R block are preventing me from purchasing a home. Home prices have gone up and inventory has gone down. Also H&R block are not BBB affiliated! Corporate rep said someone would respond in 3-5 days and that was before I scheduled the appt. on 8/17/2021. I had called many tax preparers before I called H&R block and they were not taking new clients, some only taking new clients with a referral. I am out of options at this time and I feel that I would not have been any worse off if I had Joe Biden due my simple tax returns. It consisted of a 1099 from a small pension fund, a 1099 from SSI . A total of just 4 pages and I owed nothing, so I was double dipped for the $99 and lost file folder, copies of my 1099's, revised tax returned on wrong form, and no taxes files. Had not my good friend and lender not found the wrong date for the e-file page, we would have made on offer on a home and when it went to underwriting, and pulled my tax returns for 2019, 2020 to see if they matched what I provided for the loan...is when we would have found out that they were never filed by H&R Block. In fact, when I went in and spoke with Jay, I was told that they were still open files. You are not a priority to them. Where the hell do I go now? Maybe in 3-5 days I will get a call back from corporate, and I don't feel like going through the pass, punt and kicked down the field. I guess you could say that H&R Block was just one of life's little f[censored] overs

Your question regarding benefits - The Office Manager position may qualify for a benefits package but it is dependent upon the number of total hours worked over a specified time period which determines whether the employee is considered full time or part time. The majority of our Office Managers are classified as part time, as they do not exceed the minimum average number of hours to be classified as full time.

It was interesting speaking with you yesterday. I was under the impression it was a 10 - 15 minute introductory call, to "introduce" the company and yourself. I felt as if it was an interview, with the types of questions I was being asked. If I had known it was going to be an interview I would have prepared by looking into the job description and company history along with other locations cities/states etc., beforehand. I was mislead into the subject of the call as I do not like to be unprepared. Also, an office manager oversees the finances of the company coming in and going out, in some aspect. A supervisor delegates schedules and oversees his/her employees. Big difference on rolls. Therefore, to answer your interview type question, I have never been a supervisor nor do I want to be one. The phone call and the job description are totally 100% misleading to everyone that has ever been a HR Director, Office Manager etc. I feel you owe it to yourself to be honest with the applicants so you can better decide who it a good fit. You're throwing these folks under the bus by telling them you want to introduce yourself. Because yesterday you were asking questions not giving out information (even when I asked you about the job description you would never tell me. I hade to quickly look it up on indeed.)It's not honest how your going about the hiring process. Also, I am not interested in part time. Another misleading piece this company is telling the public. Really put a bad taste in my mouth how you guys conduct business with future or current employees. The answer you gave in reply to the benifits was very confusing. If I had never worked in payroll and benefits I would've had no idea what the answer to my question was. Yes we have health, dental, and vision or NO. Very simple answer with X amount of hours worked in a payroll period. payroll and benifits That would have been a good time for you to tell the future employee how many hours they HAVE TO WORK TO GET BENEFITS but you just left me hanging. You have a nice voice is the only positive thing I can say about our call yesterday.

You don't get what you paid for. Advertisement on site does not match what you get.
My taxes were done by H&R Block for the last 13 plus years. They state they stand behind their tax pro's work, but they do not. I had my taxes done by the Feeding Hills, MA office back in February of 2021. I told the tax pro not to file my taxes until we see what is going on with the next stimulus package and the unemployment. What did he do he filed my taxes. Now after finding this out I now find out the tax pro is no longer with the company. After dealing with another tax pro, manager, district manager, regional manager and the vice president of the company they are telling me there is nothing they can do. . This is a bunch of bull. They claim it doesn't fall under the "Peace of Mind" After paying thousands of dollars over the last 13 plus years they treat there customers like this. I have now wrote to the President/CEO of the company to give them once last change to make this right. If I don't hear from them I will be filing a small claims case against them and also sending a letter to the better business bureau. They are a bunch of fraud's and just taking your hard earned money. All accountants had common sense not to file until the IRS made the final call on these additional tax updates. Besides that I had to tell H&R block about three other deduction that they claim they new nothing about. What kind of tax pro's are these folks if they don't even know the tax laws. A word to the wise out there do not use this company. This may seem petty to some of you folks out there, but we are talking about $4,200.00 dollars.

Money snatchers
Last year I didn't receive all my refund back and they where supposed to deposit it into my account within 3 business day's. Still never received it and no one seems to be able to help. Now they have been setting on my second stimulus money collecting interest for 6 months. I've filled out the transfer firm to get it form says 3-5 business days for processing and 1-2 days for deposit. That was on the 4th of this month and still don't have it. Causing a huge financial problem for me but they don't care. I will no longer be using hr block like I have for years...I'll be finding a new tax company that's not going to keep my money from me and charge me for there service after they keep my money. Shame on them!

I have over 20 phone calls recorded with the customer service department. I received my tax refund check in the mail on the 11th of March 2021. On the front of the check was a 1877-210-9305 which says verify check no print anywhere saying who is supposed to do this. I called the number it gave me a four-digit number and it said to write the number on the check-in box on the check so I did so.
I go to cash the check and I find out because I wrote this code on it now no place will cash it, so it is now void.
I go to H&R block where I was given a client check replacement form. I filled out the form. H&R block faxed it in for me they issued me an emerald card and said it can take 7 days to review this form, then 2 days to load it to my card. that sounded great so we went through and faxed it.
I called each day to check on the process every day in the beginning I was told 7 days then 10 days and this went on for 8 days every day the amount of time would change. I got very frustrated because I feel like they should tell check holders that the number to verify the check is not for them. I figured because there are so many scams going around they did this to help the check holder no try to process a fake check.
on the 18th of march after getting so frustrated because no one with customer service knew what they were talking about.
so I am speaking with David a floor supervisor on the emerald financial customer service. which proceeds to tell me that I Have to mail back the original copy of the check? what I have not explained is on the 11th in the H&R office I asked if I needed to mail the check-in and I was told no, then on top of that for 8 days straight I spoke with customer service which never told me either that I needed to send the check back.
so the floor supervisor told me that I need to mail the check to the address on my replacement for so because my bills were due I risked paying $107.00 to overnight the check to

I received confirmation on the 22nd of march that my check was now in the hands of the emerald financial back office. Now David's floor supervisor told me it would only take 2 days after they received the check to be loaded to my emerald card. so every day I check on it and every day I get told in the beginning that I have to wait 90 days for my money I am owed but I always correct them and say according to the the commercial code 3-312 that when emerald receives my check they have to issue my funds according to the law and there own documentation. normally the call always ended with oh yes mam now I see you are right so no you don't have to wait for the 90 days this is only if the check was destroyed or lost but you sent back the original check. Then other calls they will argue with me the whole time telling me I Have to wait. I have never been so frustrated with a business I have done my taxes with for 20 years. I would beg them to let me speak to someone above them or to give me an email where I could reach someone who actually knew the law and how to do their job. I told them my mortgage depended on this money and I Said I have the proof yall have the original check because I sent it priority it is shows it was picked up by emerald financial LLC H&R block. they would not give me any emails, then they would say if I wanted to log a complaint then the person I was complaining about would issue the complaint. so I issued 3 complaints. I have not heard back from them. also, they kept telling me these updated emails were sent to me and I found out they also messed up my email address so yesterday I fixed this and asked for the emails that we suppose to be sent to me needed to be resent they said ok nothing was ever sent to me.
every call I begged them to get me to someone who could fix their mistakes so this didn't cause me to have to wait 90 days when I did everything that was asked of me but they kept telling me basically o well.
my house payment my mortgage is not on the line and the bank is fixing to take my house all because no one will help me through H&R block even though I can prove everything I am saying is their policy and they legally have to stand by it. it boils down to H&R block hire non-educated liars who when they don't want to deal with your problems, they will just hang up after being on hold for over an hour.
If someone sees this from H&R block who wants to help and make this right I will remove my review. as of right now they am being forced to wait for my money even though I should have had it over 10 days ago. prove me wrong and look through all the evidence and all my recorded phone calls. then look at the law of commercial code 3-312 I am really thinking about sending all my evidence to my cousin who is an influence who has several million followers and letting her cover this across her social media and youtube channel. also if I have to I will write every news station the president my governor and let them know you are wrongfully holding my tax refund money then submit all the calls I have recorded the proof H&R block has the original check and still will not help me wait what is H&R blocks motto again oh that's right it is block has your back. wait so this is also false advertising on H&R blocks part.
