Here to There Movers Reviews (47)

I had a terrible experience with this company. They dented/damaged my new stainless steel french door refrigerator due to the movers lack of knowledge on how to get it out the door of my home. I have been given the run around for over 3 months on how they would satisfy the damage claim. I was told by a damage specialist that I would get .60 per pound which was over $200. The manager over rode the claim and offered me $80 for the un-repairable damage to a refrigerator that cost $2100. I asked why would an employee trained in damages give me incorrect information and he stated because she is an hourly employee. Do not hire them…the staff is unresponsive, are not trained well, and could care less about customer service.

None of this response makes any sense:1. I already paid the amount in question in the response.2. I never received any sort of "compensation" as indicated in the response. 3. I never signed the after service bill (as you can see it was clearly scratched out)4. I never received a follow-up call after reaching out to the company on 4 separate occasions.   This was my main issue; I just wanted to discuss my concerns with ANYONE at the company, but the complete lack of care to even respond, after 4 messages left, is very disappointing.

To whom it may concern:My name is Kevin H[redacted], owner of Here to There Movers in Dayton, Columbus and Cincinnati Ohio. I would like to start by apologizing for all lack of communication and delays in responding and resolving your damage claim. We have recently become short staffed in our...

administrative department and some things have fell through the cracks. Based off the bill of lading/order for service the minimal reimbursement was taken which pays out $.060/lb on lost or damaged items. Based off of the weight submitted we would be required to cut a reimbursement check in the amount of $24.00. However, due to our lack of communication and delay in resolving the matter, we are going to pay out in the amount of $50.00 to help compensate for your frustration our lack of response has caused. Thank you for your patience, we greatly appreciate your business and hope you will give us another opportunity in the future if you do indeed move again. I would like to also offer you 1 free hour on your next move if you do elect to use us in the future.

We appreciate any and all feedback that we receive.  It gives us the opportunity to grow and better the company as a whole. Please allow me to address the concerns listed by the customer:The customer claims she was not told about our overtime policy. This customer is correct, in part....

Unfortunately she was not told about our overtime rates when she booked her move. We do stress to our customer service staff that customers are to be informed of all our rates and fees during the booking process.Sadly, policy was not followed on this call.  We are working diligently to ensure that this does not happen again. The customer claims that we were over four hours late. Based on one of the recordings  of the calls she made to us the day after her move, she admits that she called and changed the arrival time to later than she originally booked.   We did arrive after that later scheduled time however, it was not four hours as she claimed. This is the busiest part of the year for us and there are times where the crews are on jobs longer than originally anticipated. We did adjust the time at which her overtime would start accordingly to allow for the time that we were behind.   She was never billed for any overtime, and she requested that the crew stop the job at the end of the regular time before the job was completed. The customer claims that she has called several times and no one is available to take her call.We have several recordings of the customer calling in and speaking  with several members of our staff, including managers, regarding her concerns the day after her move.  She has not called back since that day.  We would like to be able to come out and move the few pieces that were left behind and have availability, after Tuesday 8/11 of this week, to do so at her convenience.  Please contact the corporate office and ask to speak with either Kevin or Ashley directly to schedule the most opportune time for us to come out and complete the service.

Here to There Movers are unprofessional and very misleading regarding their services and quotes. The staff I dealt with for my move was unprofessional and they took advantage of me being a single female. My move was for a one bedroom apartment which didn't include kitchen furniture or boxes and it took the movers 4 hours to complete job. When they arrived they were surprised they didn't have to move many items, but purposely prolonged the job. They also took a 10 minute break and did not deduct from my bill. Initially when I called to get a quote before confirming move the company quoted $280.00 for two hours and I asked for additional fees and they did not communicate any additional fees. On top of the quote that was given by representative which was 99.00 an hour for weekends plus 80.00 for truck and materials; they charged for hidden fees like unloading and loading fee, charge for materials which was supposed to be including in 80.00 and fuel charge. Commute from old residence to new residence is 25 minutes (this can be confirmed on google maps) and the movers charged me for a 45 minute drive in regards to fuel charge. The movers followed me to new residence and it took me 25 minutes and they were right behind me, but they denied this and charged me extra for fuel cost. Their attitudes were not professional and one of the workers used my restroom without asking and left urine stains on my toilet. The website advertises the customer service line is 24/7, but I have called for two days straight which includes 8 attempts and no one has answered the phone. I left a message and no one has returned my call. Just a warning for other consumers DO NOT USE this moving company, they are unprofessional, misleading and dishonest.

Again we apologize about the damage, but believe that matter to be settled with the recent cashing of the check. The items were not repairable so a check was issued as is our policy. I have uploaded the signed bill of lading, the terms and a questionnaire completed on moving day if anyone wishes to review them.  If there are additional damaged items to be paid for up to .60 cents per pound please give a list noting the weight and your best mailing address for a second check.

As for the items left in the home, we were not told about the items until well after the move was over. The items were not mentioned in the original damage claim. We believe that everything was fine during the walk through at the end of the loading process. The moving team would have had to have been released before traveling to the second location, as that is our policy.  [redacted] you said that you had gotten those items yourself out of the home. Often times customers will just have us take only big items and from what I can see in the picture these items did not look to be too heavy. We are always willing, ready and able to move any items once we are instructed to do so.

Sophia, we are very sad for you that your precious ring is missing but our stace remains the same as we do not have the ring. Our team says they did not see the ring, and they did not take the ring. There is no supporting evidence that Here To There stole the ring. Again we will be glad to cooperate with the police should they inquire about your case. Thank you,

Just because they didn't move it doesn't mean it wasn't stolen. Of course a thief will not admit to stealing. My ring was in a bunch of stuff so you have had to been looking on my counter.  They left items still in my home and said that they would've gone back to get it but did not and I had to finish moving items myself. Yes, they issued me a check for 90bucks and yes I cashed it, however they just dismissed me as if they have golden children and they don't take from people. No one has any reason to take from anyone but they do. The bunch of stuff it was in was still there on the counter and if I put the ring in the toilet for it to sit no one has any right to come into my home and take from me period. I filed a police report and sent a copy to here to there movers and have not heard anything as of yet. [redacted] said that he nor his cousin stole the ring but he has an idea who would've.  I'm not trying to paint anyone as a thief or trying to get over on anyone, I just want my belongings back and them reimburse me for my move because I still moved stuff after they said they would come back but didn't. They didn't come back to fix my daughter's dresser either as [redacted] said he would. I have expensive things in my home and I work hard to get my things and for someone to just come in and take it is mind blowing to me and for them to say that it has not happened to them doesn't mean that it has not. I have the string of emails and the police report if I need to submit those please let me know.  I'm not asking for anyone to buy me a ring I just want what belongs to me back.if no one would've taken my stuff we would not be going through this. This is completely unacceptable.
Regards,
[redacted] Carter
