I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ***, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
I agree that my first complaint was resolvedHowever, my second complaint (which I believe was wrongly recorded under the same ID number) was in reference to a second PSE&G bill that I received with additional HIKO energy charges on itThe first complaint, which was resolved with the refund check you are referring to, was in regards to my February PSE&G statement, which contained a charge for HIKO electricity usageMy second complaint was in reference to my March PSE&G statement, which contained a charge for HIKO gas usageThese were two separate complaints, two separate bills, and two separate chargesIf you need copies of my PSE&G statements, I would be happy to provide them

Our call volume has drastically increased recently, but to ensure that customers are able to reach us, we have doubled our Customer Service staffThe customer enrolled on a variable rate plan with two of HIKO’s incentives, Savings up to 7% over the course of one year and one free month of energy supply after months of servicesThe rate that we offer is a variable rateUnfortunately, due to the big increase in the cost of the energy, our rate has gone upAlthough we can't guarantee savings every month, it is always our intention to do soOn a variable rate there will be times we can be higher or equal to the utility company’s rateThe variable rate is determined by HIKO Energy, based on numerous key factors, including current market conditions and climateThe customer is requesting $in which HIKO only charged $We will do a one-time courtesy rate adjustment to what the customer would have paid for the supp ly charges if he would have been with PSE&G1/**/to 03/**/The accounts have been cancelled without penalty and will return to the utilityWe have also reached out to customer by email

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ***, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
I did recieve the check for $187, but the attached contract clearlly states that for the first months my bill will be guaranteed to be 1-7% less than the Utility's price to compare
February: Hiko price and utilities price to compare
March: Hikp price and utilities price to compare
If a company guarantees something they need to do what they sayI have paid $for a month electric bill and I got back $187, when I was guaranteed to save 1-7% for the first six months
Thank you

This is really sad and insultingYou solicited my business promising me that your variable rates were less than my suppliersYour employee later told me you were unable to competeThis was the first billing cycle not months inIt is advertising and promises..I will file complaints with utilities commission for misconduct and hire an attorney if necessary .you did not cancel my service when told to do so nor did you even come out to read the meter! U billed a 2nd cycle at a higher price ignored my calls jacked up the bill etc....this is aggressively wrong

Our call volume has drastically increased recently, but to ensure that customers are able to reach us, we have doubled our Customer Service staff this week
The rate that we offer is a variable rate with savings over the course of one year plus one free month of energy supply after months of servicesUnfortunately, because of the extreme weather and other determining factors, the cost of electricity and natural gas skyrocketed this winterBecause we only offer variable rates, our rates went up to reflect our costWe have done a one-time courtesy rate adjustment and reached out to customer by email with our final resolution

Hello,
the company was nice enough to respond saying they will refund some of the difference for over-charging one months bill, but haven't responded yet on the current month's bill which is still much greater than the competitor they promised to be lower than.
I have initiated returning service to [redacted] but it takes a few months or I'd be done with them sooner.
Thank you to Revdex.com for your great assistance

The company contacted me with reference to another complaint I raised with board of public service utilities
they have not got back on the complaint I raised with Revdex.com .In response to the complaint I raised to PSU,they simply said rates were higher due to higher demand and high prices
this is not an acceptable resolution for me since my rates were supposed to be lower than PSeg for first six months of service. And my bills need to be adjusted accordingly. They should go by terms of the contract
I disagree with their explanation and this issue remains unresolved

The customer enrolled on variable rate based on current market conditions, which continuously fluctuatesThe offer is a variable rate with savings over the course of one year plus one free month of energy supply after months of servicesAlthough we can't guarantee savings every month, it is always our intention to do soThere will be times we can be higher or equal to the utility company's rateAs you know, this winter we've seen some of the harshest weather in yearsThe cold affected electricity generation systems, particularly natural gas, in the Mid-Atlantic and the Northeast such that supply weakened and prices skyrocketed, catching many homeowners and business by surpriseBecause we only offer variable rates, our rates went up to reflect our costWe reached out to the customer with our resolution

Good Afternoon,
This customer enrolled with HIKO’s monthly variable rate plan with two of HIKO’s incentives – six months of guaranteed savings and one free month of energy supply after 12 months of service. We evaluated his billing history and found...

that each month, for six months, we were lower than his utility's price to compare. This current bill is customer’s ninth bill. As stated in customer’s contract, after six months of guaranteed savings, the rate will automatically roll over to a regular variable rate with no guaranteed savings.
Therefore, customer is fully responsible for the full payment of this bill and no rate adjustments will be done.
The customers electricity supply account has been cancelled with us as of 03/**/14 and his natural gas account will be cancelled as of 05/[redacted]/14 without any penalty.
A copy of this resolution has been sent to this customer.
Thank you

Upon thorough review of the enrollment, our records indicate the enrollment was a Web Sign Up through [redacted], meaning the enrollment was done through the internet sometime in March 2014. Through Web Sign Ups the person enrolling needs to click on the Sign Up Now section and must enter...

information that only the account holder has, address, city, utility company name and the utility account number. The most important step of the enrollment is the acknowledgement of the Terms & Conditions and the Bill of Rights. The customer must click on the 2 sections which indicates he/she has agreed to the Terms & Conditions and the Bill of Rights. If these step are skipped the enrollment is automatically voided. As an extra layer of protection, customers are notified by mail through the utility with information of the switch and the service start date.
As per [redacted], many of the rates advertised on that website are not up to date. The webpage has a Disclaimer which informs customers of the following information: “The offer information on this website is provided solely for educational and informational purposes and may not represent a complete and/or accurate listing of all offers in the Connecticut marketplace. As with any contract, you should call individual suppliers to confirm offers, terms, and conditions before enrolling.”
HIKO's offer was variable rate contract that is subject to market conditions, in that retail prices fall and rise due to supply and demand principles. Periods of extreme weather, such as this unusually cold winter or prolonged heat waves, can cause substantial price fluctuations. Regretfully, HIKO’s variable rates went up to reflect our cost for the period the account was enrolled.
The customer also stated he emailed HIKO his concerns and as of this date he has not heard back. Our records show that the customer emailed us on April ** 2014 6:43 PM and we had responded back April ** 2014 8:17 AM.
Unfortunately, we feel that we have been compliant with the enrollment and we will not be able to do a rate adjustment.

The HIKO toll-free number as published on the website and all documentation is [redacted]. Customer Service Reps are available during regular business hours to respond to customer calls. All calls are answered immediately or, if a message is left, a call back will be made within 24 hours. The customer complained that her rate tripled after the first month which is not the case. the rate did not even double for that matter. The customer's usage did increase by over 1,000 kWh from the time she first signed up with HIKO and that is the primary reason for her higher bills.

Ontop of increasing my bill, their sales tactics are very annoying. I cancelled my service months ago and I am still getting phone calls and the salesperson keeps showing up at my house.
Hiko is like a crazy ex that you can't get rid of.
