HireRight was contacted to conduct a background screening on [redacted] on October 29th, 2014.  The background screening was completed and results provided to the potential hiring company on November 13th, 2014.  The general timeframe to complete the background investigation is three to...

five business days but occasionally there are factors outside of HireRight’s control that extends this turnaround time.  In the case of [redacted]’ background screening there were delays with the criminal court in Douglas County Georgia that extended the turnaround time.  [redacted]’ potential employer was notified throughout the background screening process of these delays on three separate occasions.  If [redacted] believes any information returned on his background screening to be inaccurate he is entitled under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (F.C.R.A.) to file a formal dispute which we show [redacted] did on Monday November 24th, 2014.  HireRight makes every effort to resolve disputes as quickly as possible and our internal goal is to average less than 10-business days on resolution of all disputes.  However, because certain elements required to resolve lay outside of HireRight’s control, we are unable to guarantee a resolution time in all cases.  Nonetheless, these are a priority for HireRight and we handle them as such.  HireRight confirmed and removed the disputed information from [redacted] reports on December 18th, 2014.  A letter advising of the completion of his dispute along with an updated copy of his report was mailed to [redacted] on December 20th, 2014.  If [redacted] has any additional questions concerning his background screening report or the dispute process with HireRight, he can contact the HireRight Applicant Care Team at [redacted] option 1 or via email at [email protected] and reference Case# [redacted]

Ms. [redacted] filed a dispute via HireRight’s online dispute process on April 21st, 2014.  Ms. [redacted] disputed that information reported by Transport America Inc. on her DAC Employment History File was inaccurate.  HireRight contacted Transport America Inc. promptly and conducted a...

re-investigation at this time.  Information received from Ms. [redacted] was also carefully reviewed.   HireRight mailed Ms. [redacted] a letter advising of the outcome of the re-investigation along with a current copy of her DAC Employment History File on May 2nd, 2014.  Ms. [redacted] contacted HireRight on May 12th, 2014 and was assisted in adding a rebuttal statement to her record as is allowed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (F.C.R.A).  The rebuttal statement was added to the record and an updated copy of the report was mailed to Ms. [redacted] on May 14th, 2014.  If Ms. [redacted] has any additional concerns regarding her record she can contact our Consumer Care Department at 800-381-0645.

Thank you for allowing HireRight to respond and HireRight regrets the inconvenience this has caused.
Unfortunately, as a consumer reporting agency governed by
the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. §1681 et seq. (“FCRA”), HireRight is
strictly prohibited under FCRA §604(a)...

from releasing or discussing consumer
report information, such as that which you have referenced in your complaint to
the Revdex.com, prior to receipt of a grand jury subpoena, a court
order (a subpoena, even signed by the court clerk, is not sufficient), or the
express authorization of the subject consumer (including minors) – in this case
your son, [redacted].

However, please be advised that the FCRA also provides Mr.
[redacted] with the right to file a dispute directly with HireRight regarding any
of the information reported by HireRight to customers who have ordered background
screenings for pre-employment purposes.  We will be happy to provide
explanations of the information on the reports and to file a dispute for any
information Mr. [redacted] believes is incorrect.  Please have Mr. [redacted]
contact HireRight directly at 1-866-521-6995 and we will be happy to
assist him.  If Mr. [redacted] would like you to act in his behalf, in order
to ensure HireRight is in compliance with the FCRA, and to protect Mr.
[redacted]’s privacy, please complete the attached Third-Party Authorization Form
and provide a signed copy to HireRight and we can then discuss his reports
directly with you.

The incident they are referring to was not an isolated incident. I appreciate the fact that they have changed the process when they receive multiple requests for one person, but they should also review processes on when the same CSR emails, calls and faxes the request for the same person within a 24 hour period. I don't really need another response necessarily. By law we have 30 days to answer the DOT reference questions and that's what we intend to do. Then HireRight can go back to their client, [redacted], and explain why it's taking so long to get a response back - since they blamed this on [redacted] in the first place.

Mr. [redacted] requested a copy of his DAC report to be mailed to him via HireRight’s website on May 4th, 2016.  HireRight reviewed Mr. [redacted]’s request and commenced to compile the reports he requested.  The reports were compiled and mailed on May 18th, 2016 to the address listed on the...

The incident outlined in the complaint that occured on 9/16 was a result of a HireRight customer ordering three different DOT verifications products for the same applicant in error.  This resulted in three team members each working on their respective verification product and this yielded...

multiple calls and attempts to reach the same source.   Our team reached out to the source to apologize and provide an explanation as to the reason for multiple contact attempts.
To prevent any future inconvenience HireRight updated the process to ensure that multiple verification products for the same applicant with the same source are handled by one team member.  This will streamline the process for all parties.  At your request, [redacted] was part of this invesigation and resolution.  Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

HireRight has made every effort to contact the consumer without success. It is our sincere goal to assist wherever possible. We are sorry to hear that the consumer did not accept our offer of assistance, we would like to reiterate that we are still more than willing to go over the available options and next steps. It is necessary for us to speak to the consumer in situations such as this, to be sure that we can review the information in question. We would like to be sure that Ms.[redacted] is aware that she is welcome to contact us directly via email at [email protected] or by calling 866-521-6995. We cannot provide private sensitive data in this format but again want to be clear that if Ms. [redacted] would contact us we can give her every opportunity to resolve this issue.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and attached the 2 invoices are what you are claiming I owe. Both of these invoices are for reports for the same 2 potential employees. Why would anyone run multiple reports for the same people. It makes no sense. I was instructed by [redacted] that I needed to reorder them so that is what I did. I paid through my checking account 237.90 for the invoice, but the bank notified me that you received it but was never cashed. This has dragged on for 6 months which should be a red flag for how difficult you make this process to get things resolved. I have called multiple times and no one ever can help and they just keep kicking the can down the road to the next extension was told [redacted] would be calling me in like 20 minutes ( that was 3 months ago) and still waiting for that call.If you want to at least make this somewhat right, just credit the amount due and I will move on. If I have to pay one of these invoices, I will not be satisfied but at this point I want this to just end.
