Review: I have been waiting for a refund/response for 2 months now & haven’t heard anything. The cashier in the store only gave me an email to communicate with ([redacted]) & took my lotions & stated I would be looking at a refund & response in March. I purchased a few different packages (light therapy, wrap, lotions for both) & could not use them due to blistering of my skin (I shared that I had a tummy tuck recently & was told it would be OK, but my skin reacted bad to it). The purchase price for the sessions & lotions were $581.07 + $158.22. I have returned the lotions to the Mission Valley location & have only kept the tanning lotion with the 2 months that came with that for $80. I have also not used the package other than that 1st time when my skin blistered & my doctor told me not to do it again.Desired Settlement: I want a full refund of both amounts minus the $80 (total refund due $659.29) for the tanning lotion that included 2 months of tanning.

Response:

Hollywood Tans of Mission Valley takes great pride in customer service. This circumstance was more complicated then the customer lead on. She had purchased tanning and lotions. The refund was not requested right away, she opted to put the credit towards other products and services. Then later requested a full refund. The store associate continued to let her tan for 2.5 months and informed this client it would be deducted from her credit on file. while she was contemplating continuing our services. We were under the impression while she continued to tan with us, that she was keeping the credit on file. A few weeks later we received this complaint along with a dispute from her bank. This client has received her re fund minus the services she used. We at Hollywood Tans would strive to take care of our customers.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

[the representative from the company is lying. The day after I use the services I requested a refund because my skin broke out in a rash and my doctor told me to no longer use that service. I was planning on keeping only the lotion that I bought which was $80 that included two months of free tanning. the other $600 for the other services that I purchased in advance as a package was supposed to be refunded. The salesperson tried to talk me into using that as a credit towards something else but I am formed her that I would be moving in July and did not want to purchase any other services but I wanted a full refund. I was told that I would get this refund in March and I emailed this information to the representative that replied back 3 times and kept asking the sales associate had she heard anything back and there was no response. So, I had to file this complaint and file a complaint with my bank to get money back. I got a call from the associate about 3 weeks ago for the first time only because my bank file the dispute on my behalf and refunded me the money. At this point the associate asked for the money back for the tanning lotion and tanning sessions. I would have never heard from her at all if this had not occurred and she had no interest in returning my money]

Regards,

Review: I'm having a problem canceling my account. On Saturday September 21st I called the Union location to cancel my account. I was told by one of the representatives in Union that cancellations can be done only the 1st of every month. On Monday September 30th I called around 8 to see if I was able to cancel my membership on that day because the next day I wasn't going to be able to make it there. The representative told me that unfortunately it had to be done the next day on October 1st. I specifically advised her I was trying to get cancel in advance so I don't get the charge deducted out of my account. Again she told me she couldn't do anything. I came in on October 1st as I was told and the representative couldn't give me confirmation that the membership will be cancel immediately. She stated she was new and she will have the manager called me the next day. It’s been over two weeks and nobody has called me. I have called the tanning salon numerous times at different times and I get the same response everytime I called. The manager is not available at the moment. She will give you a call back at a later time. I need this issue to be resolve and I need my membership to be cancel. My account has been charged for a service I no longer useDesired Settlement: I need them to refund my money for the month of October. I tried numerous times to cancel ahead of time and now I have no confirmation the membership was cancel.

Review: I have purchased a [redacted] for Hollywood Tanning in November for 3 month exclusive membership. When I came to the tanning salon, I explained them that after [redacted] expires, I do not want to be charged for the membership fees. The customer service rep. suggested that she will leave a note on my account. In December I found out that I was pregnant and called Hollywood Tans to make sure that my membership would be cancelled. Hollywood Tans have never cancelled my membership. In June I called multiple times trying to reach the manager, no one would ever give me a call back. Once I was able to reach a manager, [redacted] asking her to refund for unauthorized charges and cancel my membership. [redacted] suggested that she cannot refund because I had to come in to the salon and cancel the membership there. I was not notified about the fact that I have to come in when I called in to cancel. [redacted] agreed to cancel my membership as of June, but in July I am being charged for the services again.

I asked [redacted] to refund for the services that I did not receive, she suggested that she has to talk to the owner and she will get back to me. Obviously, I have not received a call back from neither [redacted] or the owner.Desired Settlement: I demand a refund for the months that I have not used their service and cancellation of my account with Hollywood Tans

Review: After cancelling the policy, this business continued to debit my bank account for 2 months for $65.99 each month totaling $131.98. I spoke with the regional manager and was informed that they do not provide credits due to billing errors. The employees at this location did not follow the process that is the standard operating procedure to close out the account and due to this, I was charged for 2 extra months.Desired Settlement: I would like to obtain a refund for these two months of charges that were not used. The regional manager offered two free months of service at this location, but that is unacceptable.

Review: I purchased a package from this Hollywood Tans location that included approximately 30 tanning sessions. The store closed this location without providing me any notice. I found out about the closure as I arrived at the storefront to redeem one of my sessions only to find that the location was under construction. I had over 20 sessions left on my account. I was not notified of impending closure nor was I offered a refund for the services for which I had already purchased. When I purchased the services, I entered a contract with this business to provide the services that were paid for and promised. This contract has not been met, and I deserve a refund for the full amount that I had left on my account. Additionally, the corporation of Hollywood Tans claims that they cannot issue a refund or store credit as each storefront is individually owned. They will not let me obtain these services at other locations. I believe they are also at fault for not supporting their clients in receiving the services for which they have paid for and are promised.Desired Settlement: Full refunds be provided to those who have paid for tanning services and are not able to obtain them as the store location has closed. Additionally, Hollywood Tans should be held responsible for this business model that does not protect the consumer in the event of a store closure. It is a violation of consumer rights by a store that brandishes the Hollywood Tan name, logo, and company backing. How are they not responsible for this violation to their consumers?

the person at the desk who introduces the idea of membership failed to verbally mention that you will automatically be charged every month. my daughter went to hollywood tans in april and the person at the desk suggested to her that it would be cheaper for her to sign up for that month with thier membership. It was not mentioned that the $21.99 fee would automatically be withdrawn from her debit card every month. my daughter has been charged for aprl, may and when she called about the june fee on june 1st and asked to credit that fee because she was unaware that they would automaticlly withdraw the fee regardless of if she used the facilities or not, they responded by saying that the person should have told her. but when we asked to speak to the manager [redacted], [redacted] said she would have him return our call. several days passed [redacted] he never returned the call. my daughter is abroad so I followed up with a call today and [redacted] said that the manager [redacted] said that they don't give refunds. I thought it was poor management not to have the decency to return my call and at least here our explanation. I would like a refund for the month of june and I also want to put this out there for others to be aware and ask about automatic withdrawls. thank you, [redacted]Desired Settlementi would simply like to have a refund for the month of june since my daughter called immediately and it was never verbalized about the automatic withdrawls. Business Response [redacted] signed a CONTRACT on [redacted] and we given a copy. I am going to e-mail a copy of the AGREEMENT to Revdex.comConsumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)The simple response that they gave, is an example of the lack of professionalism of how they run thier business. They don't have the customers best interest at hand if they leave out information when it is verbally explained and or it is not the same information as to what is in the contract. I would not recommend this business because they are more concerned with deceiving customers and grabbing the quick buck rather than building a trusting service to thier customers.Final Business Response Your Daugher came in and chose the membership and signed the Contract. Now you are mad. We did nothing wrong.
