Homestead Recording Service Reviews (43)

Thanks for your inquiry on Mr. [redacted]  We in fact received Mr. [redacted] request for the Designation of Homestead on January 30, 2017.  At that time we mailed him his Designation of Homestead form which he would need to sign in front of a notary and have filed at his county clerk’s...

office.  If Mr. [redacted] did not receive his Homestead document in the mail we can mail him another immediately.  Please let us know if this is the case.  Because of this mix-up we have gone ahead and refunded Mr. [redacted] credit card used to sign up for the service.

I am rejecting this response because:  This is the second time I have requested that this company cease sending me their SCAM offers.  This company is notorious for preying on the week minded and uninformed consumer and has consistently been written up in newspapers around Texas with a warning of their deceptive trade practices, most recently Houston and Abilene.  Their standard boilerplate answer is one that has been used time and time again and has been posted as a warning to others that might fall for their scheme of charging someone a fee that they themselves can do for free.  Lastly, this company often does not answer their phone so that they can claim to have never received instructions to take people off their mailing lists and continue to hound them.Their response to me is a flat out lie.

and that we do not prepare a homeowner’s tax exemption.  This information is located all over our solicitation so that a potential customer will not get confused.  We see that Mr. [redacted] read our mail solicitation and saw he could also sign up for our service on our website.  Once on our website Mr. [redacted] would see just like our mailing that we are not a government agency, that our website is an advertisement for service and that we do not prepare a homeowner’s tax exemption.  During this process if Mr. [redacted] was still confused after reading this information on our website or solicitation he could have called the toll free number we print all over our marketing material and listened to our recorded message (available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week) or spoken to a customer service rep which would explain the details of our service, explained we are not a government agency nor do we prepare a homeowner’s tax exemption.  Our company unlike our competitors has this information readily available with every communication that we offer a potential customer.  We are sorry that Mr. [redacted] missed this and have refunded the credit card he originally used to sign up for our service the $35 as requested.  Please allow 5 to 7 days for the credit to appear on his account.

exemption which she states is the service we were providing.  This information is located on our solicitation, website as well as our phone message so that a potential customer will not get confused.  As requested a refund in the amount of $35 has been credited back to the card Ms. [redacted] used to sign up for the service.  She should see this credit in 5 to 7 business days.  We realize Ms. [redacted] has concerns with our company, but Homestead Recording Service has been in business and using the same form for over 20 years in the state of Texas.  This form has only changed due to modifications that were required by Texas State Statutes.  Our form unlike our competitors uses large font, bold lettering, offer a toll free number, have a pre-recorded message to assist customer 24 hours a day 7 days a week and have a 100% customer satisfaction policy.   We are sorry Ms. [redacted] was confused.

This homeowner also emailed our company directly.  During this communication we determined they did not use our company's service. Thanks

I am rejecting this response because:Your business name is "HOMESTEAD RECORDING SERVICES", it is designed to trick new homeowners in hopes that they do not read the fine print. I do not have the items you sent me in the mail anymore and I am requesting a refund with out returning these items ASAP.

I am sorry Mr. [redacted] was unclear on the difference in our service and the homestead tax exemption.  I wish Mr. [redacted] took advantage of the toll free number we offer to our customers to ask any questions he may have had.  I am sure this would have cleared up any issues.  We will go ahead...

and mail Mr. [redacted] a refund check in today's mail. Thanks
