As we have previously statedWe do not cancel memberships through emailMr*** was informed what he needed to do to cancel his membership PRIOR to deploymentOur facility deals with hundreds of military personal and we have not had any issues with servicemen providing proper documentation and proceeding with their membership cancellation PRIOR to deployment. We are willing to provide a signed copy of Mr*** contract that explains our cancellation policy. We are sorry but we stand by our claim of dues owed in order to be removed from our collection agencyThank you

First and foremost, IB Fitness does not advertise as a
Crossfit gym
""> We were denied affiliation
due to the Functional Fitness room being associated with a gym. IB Fitness was given the go ahead to practice
Crossfit based classes “WODS.”
With regards to the membership agreement the member
filled out, IB Fitness does not have a new member sign an agreement without the
ENTIRE agreement filled out prior to any signatures. That is not how IB Fitness deals with new
memberships. Members are also given a
carbon copy of the signed agreement and members are present during the
agreement process. This member clearly
did not pay attention to what he was signing and/or what he was given at the
end the agreement process.
When the member decided he wanted to cancel his
agreement the owner advised the member he was in an agreement and gave the
member the option of paying for two (2) months rather than fulfilling the rest
of his agreementThis member agreed to do so.
Shortly thereafter, the Functional Fitness room was
dismantled only to be put into a bigger space for the WOD based classes. NOTHING was taken away from the Functional
Fitness member. This member decided he
did not like the “WOD” based classes in another area of the gym.
Lastly, after seeing the Functional Fitness room had
moved to another area of the gym, this particular member barged into the owner’s
office and began to raise his voice. He
was politely asked to leave the office due to his demeanor and character that
was displayed. This member chose not to
leave when asked and was then asked again to leave. No threats were made

Mbr signed up for one year and was given a deal because she wanted classes.  Mbr agreed to pay $100 per month for her and her secondary member rather than paying the normal $138 per month for the membership she requested.  Mbr's enrollment fee and last month fee were also waived because...

she agreed to sign up for one year.  The member signed the agreement in three different places.  Should member want to contact me to discuss a payment deal to let her out of her agreement I would be more than happy to help her.Thank you. [redacted]

Mr. [redacted] contacted our facility on March 19th 2015 via email. He stated that he is going to be deployed and he attached his orders please cancel his contract. Our response was simply, please come in to fill out proper documentation prior to deployment. Mr. [redacted] never replied or went in to...

the gym. Per IB Fitness contract and policy (Mr. [redacted] does have his signed copy) it clearly states that cancellations are only done in person or via certified mail. 30 day notice must be given and the account must be in good standing. If the member is in a contract and not month to month, legal proof must be provided that member will be moving more than 25miles away, and there will be a $100 early termination fee. Therefore Mr. [redacted] never went through the proper procedures in order to cancel his membership contract with IB Fitness, and unfortunately the account did go past due, and Mr. [redacted] was transferred to our collection agency after being over $200 past due. We are sorry this situation had to happen, but we are not willing to cancel the debt owed by Mr. [redacted] or remove him from collections until the account is paid in full. We are willing to provide any copies requested by the Revdex.com or attorneys of Mr. [redacted] signed contract.  Pasted below is our email communication with Mr. [redacted] from March of this year.   [redacted]Subject: Re:Hi [redacted],Please stop by the gym to fill out the proper paperwork for your cancellation request. The agreement the member signed clearly states IB Fitness must be given at 30 Day Notice in writing should member choose to terminate their membership with us.  Member claimed she sent a letter to ABC Financial requesting her membership to be cancelled which was not received by ABC Financial...

nor was a letter requesting cancellation received by IB Fitness.Member was given the benefit of the doubt with regards to the alleged letter sent to ABC Financial and was given a 30 Day Cancellation Notice from the effective date of said letter.  Member still refused to willingly pay her last payment due with regards to the 30 Day Cancellation Notice.
Sincerely,

Look I never ever rant but I feel like this it deserves something negative to be said about him. I've been going to IB Fitness the past 6 months and at the start I loved it here the trainers were great and I felt at home but after a couple months all the people I liked (including the trainers) left because of the management and now I see why. I had issues with my membership because I had paid 250 for a membership and I wanted to change my membership type and was told it was done and it never was so my membership expired early when it should've lasted till the end of December. I called the manager [redacted] and he would not talk to me and hung up on me. So I came in to speak with him. He would not speak to me alone and stop what he was doing for even 30 seconds. Instead he got super irate and started cussing me out in the most unprofessional way. Telling me he wasn't going to do anything for me and to [redacted] off getting in my face asking me if I wanted to start something. I was not irate or verbally abusive with him in any way and then he got physical and shoved me multiple times until I was out on the sidewalk. I personally don't care if I'm at a park playing ball and get into a fight. But how in the heck are you going to do that in a professional setting. How are you going to threaten a person who is giving you business like that. Literally can't believe [redacted] was incapable of just dealing with a customer who was having a membership issue in a professional manner. He was trying to cover his end by saying that he felt threatened and that he had witnesses (his employees that would definitely side with him). I don't know how he felt threatened in any way especially when he was the one being abusive verbally and physically. Out of my own personal safety I took out my phone and recorded the rest. You can see how irate he was in the video and how I definitely did not pose any threat whatsoever when her came up to me and started shoving me onto the sidewalk. Never got my issue resolved or my moneys worth. Will not be coming back. And if I had the money to do so I would press charges trust me. It doesn't matter what the employee does as long as he is within his rights and isn't crossing legal boundaries you cannot treat someone that way. It is absolutely ridiculous that someone like that has a job in that "professional" facility.

Revdex.com,
Mr. [redacted] was an independent trainer who used the facilities at IB Fitness to train his clients.  All monies were paid to him and not to IB Fitness.  When Mr. [redacted] separated from IB Fitness all of his clients were offered to train with another Personal Trainer. ...

This includes Ms. [redacted].  Ms. [redacted] was given the option to train with another trainer and she chose not to.  Ms. [redacted] will need to settle her issue with Mr. [redacted].Should you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me.
Thank you.

Mr. [redacted] was informed per our policy in which Mr. [redacted] signed, that in order to cancel his month to month membership he needed to come in to the gym to fill out a cancellation form with 30 days notice prior to his next billing  date. The reason Mr. [redacted] has not been in the gym is because he filled out a request to freeze form 6 months ago. Mr. [redacted] is now pending collections due to his refusal to cooperate with the IB Fitness cancelation policy. We are willing to provide documentation that Mr. [redacted] signed and initialed when he joined IB Fitness that clearly states our cancellation policy. We are also willing to provide the documentation that Mr. [redacted] signed when he requested to freeze his membership 6 months ago that clearly states the account will automatically unfreeze per his request date. We are also willing to provide emails and text messages that inform Mr. [redacted] what the proper steps were in order to cancel his membership. Mr. [redacted] must pay all past dues and collection fees in order to cancel his membership. Please feel free to contact IB Fitness with any further questions.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
The response from IB Fitness alleges that I did not correctly
cancel my club membership. This is patently false. My gym membership obligation
was due to expire on May 20, 2015. As per the contract, I sent a written notice
to cancel my membership. The notification was sent to the address on the gym contract,
ABC Financial Services, Inc. on April 16, 2015. The notice was sent certified
mail with a signature return receipt request.
According to the return receipt that I received, ABC Financial received
my letter on April 20, 2015. The receipt was signed by [redacted] of ABC
Financial Services, Inc.
Despite my putting my correct address on my Certified Mail
Return Receipt Request, and putting my correct return address on my envelop,
ABC Financial sent a letter to my previous address. The letter was dated 15
days after evidence showed that ABC Financial had received my letter. The
letter stipulated that I had no cancellation fees; however, neither ABC
Financial nor IB Fitness were willing to cancel my membership.
Article number of return receipt: [redacted]
An attempt was made on June 5th 2015 to discuss
this issue with the owner of IB Fitness; however, he declined my request.  I was required to wait an entire 20 minutes in
the gym lobby before I was informed that the owner would not meet with me. The
deceptiveness of IB Fitness and ABC Financial clearly demonstrates unethical,
if not, fraudulent behavior.
Despite all my attempts to rectify this matter, IB Fitness and ABC Financial continue to fraudulent charge my credit card.

Unfortunately I have been swindled by this place. After I moved out of the region, I cancelled my debit card on file with them and they contacted me to inform me I have to pay for another month just to cancel my month to month membership or they would send my bills to a collections agency. This is just bad business. When I called them and told them I haven't even used their facility in over a year the guy on the phone got angry and told me I was getting an attitude with him, even though I was completely calm and it was the other way around. I suggest steering clear of this place.

I have a medical reason that I cant lift weights for a while so I went to canlcle my membership. I called the day my payment was to let them know I was canceling they told me they would put a note so that it would already be in the books when I get there in a few days. I have a job and other imlortant things I have to deal with I cant just run to the gym that day. They chared me $20 for a late fee.....I have direct depost and my bank wont freeze it even if there is no money I would get charged by the bank... Then they tell me I still have to pay another month so I asked the guy is its paid he tells me yes. Today I was billed again and thanks to them I have to pay my bank again due to me not knowing I needed the money in there and they chared me an extra $10 wtf. Bad business would not recomend.

Review: We bought a certificate at a silent-auction fundraiser for the elementary school music program. The certificate was worth $567 for a year membership at IB Fitness. When I went in to redeem it, I was told by the owner he would not honor it because it was done by the former owner. I asked for the former owner's information, and when he said he didn't have it. He immediately became very combative, and said maybe you want to talk to a lawyer. I said my wife is a lawyer, and why would you want to go there? First he wanted to give me credit for what I paid for the certificate, which I said I believe was $175. He said a membership is about $700, and said he would give me maybe three months free. I said I have a certificate for a year's membership. He said now its one month. When I said that was not fair, he told me to get out. I said you're an [redacted] and walked out. He caught up to me just outside the front door and said say that to my face. So I said you're an [redacted] He said you're an [redacted] and I'll kick you're [redacted] I said all this over a gift certificate. Just inside was a an elderly woman who heard the whole thing, and other customers. I said I don't think I would do business here.Desired Settlement: Instead of honoring our certificate and adding some bodies to his empty gym, he's created some very bad PR. He's obviously not astute at customer relations and doesn't realize that Satisfied Customers Tell Three Friends, Angry Customers Tell 3,000!!!!

Review: In April of 2015, [redacted] from IB Fitness was notified that I would be deploying from April to October 2015.

She received my deployment letter from [redacted] via email.

Throughout deployment IB Fitness continued to charge my credit card on file up until august when I eventually had to turn the card off so they would cease from charging my card for club membership.

I returned home from deployment early on September 11, 2015.

IB fitness as well as ABC Financial continued to call me trying to collect membership fees.

on OCT 15 my deployment letter was sent to Stephanie Gillum at ABC Financial after several more phone calls trying to collect membership fees. She said that she would send the deployment letter to [redacted] and that my account with IB fitness would be closed and I was not expected to pay the fees.

on December 9th at about 12pm I received a phone call from a collection agency attempted to collect a debt of $220 on behalf of IB Fitness.

As an active duty service member I respectfully request some assistance with this matter. My deployment letter has been sent multiple times to both [redacted] at IB Fitness as well as ABC Financial.

[redacted] from IB fitness said that this matter was out of her hands because ABC Financial is now trying to collect payment.

I am very close to taking this matter to small claims court, but would like to at least attempt to have this matter rectified through the Revdex.com. I feel harassed by IB Fitness as well as ABC Financial with multiple collection attempts as well as by the collection agency.

Collection attempts that show on my credit report jeopardize my current security clearance.

Thank you for your assistance,

Very Respectfully,

[redacted]Desired Settlement: 1.Refund of $175.00 for the months of April to August 2015.

2.IB Fitness, ABC Financial and Collection Agency to immediately cease from contacting me in regards to collection attempts.

3. Correction to credit report due to my security clearance being jeopardized.

Review: I signed up for Crossfit at IB Fitness on 6/16/15. I was told that I would be able to do month to month to test it out to see if I liked it.

They marked the parts of the contract for me to fill out and I did. After, I filled out my portion they filled out the rest. I realized that was a mistake because they put it as a year long contract even though he gave me a verbal confirmation that it was a month to month membership, but I had already signed before this part was filled out.

I decided that I wanted to quit the gym and when I went to cancel my membership, they informed me that the contract was for a month.

When I spoke with the owner, Nick and he refused to cancel the contract, but agreed to cancel out 6 months, which left me with 2 months to pay.

I showed up for a class on 9/29 and found the "Crossfit" gym dismantled. The instructor didn't show up for the class either.

I have just learned that they are not affiliated with Crossfit at all. On my contract, it states Club Name: "Crossfit" and membership type: "Crossfit".

When I asked to speak to the owner, the receptionist led me into his office and upon asking him about the changes, he said: "I'm having a bad day. Get the [redacted] out before I knock you the [redacted] out!" I called the police.Desired Settlement: I want my membership cancelled immediately and do not want to be charged for the remaining 2 months.

I want the cancellation of the contract and future payments for 3 reasons:

1. I initially signed up for month to month but I understand that it was my fault for signing the contract before it was fully filled out.

2. Because the gym is not a Crossfit Gym as was advertised and put on my contract.

3. Because I do not feel safe there as I was verbally threatened.
