Review: IntelliPayment was to make bi weekly payments of 197.61 on my grand daughters vehicle which I am the owner and she is the co-signer on the **of every mo beginning in Oct.2013. The first payment was a full payment of 395.21 was made on 10/**/2013. Payments were being made late after the due date resulting in late charges and harassing phone call's from Regional Acceptance Co.which is our lien holder. They would start calling non stop when the payments were not there on the **. I called IntelliPayment and they assured me that they were not late but Regional has called me after the **letting me know that thay have not rec'd the payment. We just started using them in Oct and by Nov. there had already been 2 payments made late! That is outrageous! I cancelled them in Nov. after I was told that another payment had been received late. I made another payment on 11/**/13 so I would be ahead every month. I do not appreciate making payments to a company for a service that they are causing me late fees and possibly damage to my credit report, When I cancelled them they had the nerve to charge me 25.00 to cancel and then kept 199.00 service fee. They voided the contract when they didn't make the payments on time per the contract/agreement.Desired Settlement: They need to refund me the 199.00 of the 399.00 Service Fee and the 25.00 cancellation fee.

Dear [redacted],

We spoke to the customer on 2/**/14 and the issue has been resolved to the customer’s satisfaction. We clarified the customer's misunderstandings with respect to her account. Specifically, we confirmed that no late fees had been incurred from her lender, and that her credit had not been negatively affected. The customer acknowledged that we had performed all our duties under the IntelliPayment customer agreement which had been signed by the customer. As a courtesy, we agreed to refund the IntelliPayment fees which had been collected.

Review: My wife, Alanna, and I bought our car in May 2013 with financing through Bank of America. Our dealer brought up this program that Intellipayment was offering where they would split up your payments and make payments every two weeks to accelerate the equity in the car and pay of the car about 5 monhts earlier than normal. The dealer mentioned that there would be $1.95 transaction fee per withdrawal and that there would be a few other miscellaneous fees over the course of the loan, but these would be more than evened out by the fact that I was accelerating the equity in the car, and so I wouldn't be spending as much on interest.

Well shame on me for being young and naive and signing without reading the fine print that there would be a $399 transaction fee over the course of the loan that I was responsible for paying and for neglecting to realize that the reason that I was paying off the loan faster was not because I was paying down the interest more quickly as the dealer inferred, but rather because I was making extra payments per year (it is kind of like I was making 13 monthly payments instead of 12). So for the privilege of making $1.95 fee per transaction and $399 over the course of the loan, this company will do what any human being can do and make a payment every two weeks. And I call to cancel and they hit me with another $25 fee to cancel, as if they haven't earned enough from me already. I realize I made a mistake while being rushed through the whirlwind that is buying a car, but I find the sales tactics for this product depiscable. It is sold not as a service for convenience, but as a way to save money! That is a joke and is completely untruthful.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of any portion of the $399 charge that I may have paid and also would like to prevent the $25 charge from going through.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved. The company refunded $399 fee at a prorated rate and also waived the cancellation fee. I expressed my concerns about the selling process, and I do feel like my comments were heard by the company.

Sincerely,

Review: I signed up for this service back in April with [redacted] dealership in Lindenhurst New York. They advised me that payments would be taken out every two weeks and this would shorten in the amount of time I would have to pay back my vehicle loan. The company began taking out $206 from my checking account beginning in May 2014. I have received several statements from [redacted] that the payments were not receoved. I contacted the Intellipayment and they assured me that the payments were being made Within the specified time, including a Grace period. the most recent statement I received stated that the company only sent a payment of $9.30. on 2/**/15 I contacted [redacted] to verify that an error had not been made on their part and was told that the payment amount listed was in fact correct. They provided me with the check number that was sent from Intellipayment I attempted to contact the dealership who set up the Auto Pay as well as IntelLipayment to find out what was going on, with no success. I need to know Where is my money going to if they are not sending the full amounts taken from my account in to [redacted].Desired Settlement: Refund of all monies taken from my account that were not sent to [redacted] motor finance

Cancellation of this service immediately

Review: Here is the money they have take out of my account with the dates and the dates that the actual payment was made, on april the company only made one payment, causing the next payment to go all to the interest, and almost having a late fee. adding up all that they have taking out from my account and resting with everything that was sent as a payment, they have $398.58, today I called and cancel the subscription and they did not want to refund me that money cause its their fee which I was never told, cause when I bought the car I payed upfront in the dealer $399 for their service. so that money should not be charged to me. I have the papers from the dealer.

We called and spoke with the customer on Friday June [redacted] regarding the complaint that he had filed. During this conversation, he stated that his main complaint was that he had paid an upfront fee of $399 at the dealership to enroll in the IntelliPayment program and was again charged $399 in a deferred fee during the course of his debits. We explained to him that he would not have been charged a $399 upfront fee at the dealership, as that is not a part of the IntelliPayment program. We did confirm for the customer that, excluding the $1.95 convenience fee on each debit from his account, we have remitted $399 less to the customer’s lender than we have debited from his account, and further explained that this difference constituted the $399 deferred program fee to use IntelliPayment. The customer understood this, but said that he wanted to check his bank statement so that he could reconcile this information with his records. We agreed that we would call him back on Monday 6/** to follow up. However, when we called on Monday we were only able to leave a voice mail. We have continued to call and leave voicemails on 6/**, 6/**, 6/**, 6/**, and 6/**, but we have not been able to speak with the customer. Based on our conversation with the customer, we believe that the situation is resolved, but if he has any further questions we encourage him to contact us at ###-###-####.

Review: I purchased my Honda accord through a dealer. They somehow hooked me to IntelliPayment. I was not told that IntelliPayment was a third party company and I was not told about the fees they would charge.

I first noticed that there is a $1.95 difference between the amount of money ($167.56) deducted through my bank account and the amount that honda ($165.61) recevied. I thought that was some sort of transaction fee. Today, I finally got the time and called Honda. I found out that intellipayment is the one who is charging me. The first time I called intellipayment, they told me that if I pay through them I could pay Honda biweekly, and if I pay Honda directly, I could only pay them monthly, since they don't receive biweekly payment, which is totally lie. I called Honda, they explained to me very well. If I wish to pay biweekly, I could simply set up a biweekly automatic payment through my bank. And the person who answered the call was actually making it sound like that it is my fault. I read other complaints against intellipayment, and knew that other people was charged $399.00 program fee. I asked them about the fee. They admit that they charged me with the program fee. And they said that if I cancel my account they will refund me NOTHING! I went back to check my whole checking account history. I did not see the $399.00 charge. But I do found that intellipayement charged us 20 times, and Honda received payments 17 times. So even if I see the latest payment is not paid to Honda yet, there are still 2 payments of $167.56 gone missing, which I guess is what they charged for the program fee. They actually hide the fee with my loan payment by charge the same amount. Moreover, they didn't even do it right with their so-called biweekly payment services they paid my loan late 5 times, which are 9/**/14, 7/**/14, 5/**/14, 4/**/14.Desired Settlement: Full refund of unexplained and unknown service fees.

Review: I was set up with this business through my dealership for auto payment on my vehicle loan and they have since taken my money but not made any payments and due to this my bank has now marked my credit report and destroyed my credit. The rep I talked to at this business gave me an attitude and refused to help me and now they will not answer the phone or deal with this issue.Desired Settlement: At this point I want all of my money returned to me and to cancel any and all future services with this company. I also want them to compensate me or pay for any and all penalties or fees to correct my credit report and make this situation right.

Response:

We have spoken with the customer with regards to his complaint and were able to reach a resolution. Prior to the complaint being lodged we had spoken to the customer’s wife and agreed to remit a payment to his bank and refund any funds not remitted as part of that payment.

We apologized for any earlier miscommunication or misunderstanding with respect to the timing of these payments. We thoroughly reviewed and established that there would be no negative impact on the customer’s credit report or their credit, as according to law, the lender had no issue with the timing by which the payment was made.

We strive to always provide customers with all the information they require to make an informed decision on whether or not to enroll in IntelliPayment. We are always looking to improve, and we appreciate the feedback from all of our customers.

Review: I contacted Intellipayment in reference to my account to skip my biweekly payment and I was told I was not able to skip this payment because it would cause me to be late with the lender. I asked why would I be late if my payments are debited from my account biweekly and that's when the representative told me that my last payment that was debited was used for their "service fees". I was not made aware of their service fees at the moment of my car purchase nor did the [redacted] explain to me of such charges. Also, upon the request of payment defferment the representative who processed the transaction did not disclose that there would be such a high service fee, knowing of such fees I would have not enrolled with IntelliPayment.Desired Settlement: Full refund of unexplained and unknown service fees

Review: I signed an agreement to use IntelliPayment when I purchased my car because the biweekly payments (as stated in the contract by the third party) were deducted from my account and paid electronically to my auto loan. No where in the contract did it state that "when you are ahead in payments, IntelliPayment will still deduct your biweekly payments but will not send payment to your auto loan company. IntelliPayment will withdrawal electronically your biweekly payment and process it into a check which takes 2-3 weeks to process and send it your auto loan company as a 'Principle ONLY' check."

Using a simple example of $200 biweekly payments withdrawn from IntelliPayment on 10/*, 10/**, and 10/**:

10/* - $75 Interest

- $125 Principle

10/** - (nothing was received by my auto loan from IntelliPayment but they withdrew the money from my account.)

10/** - $185 Interest

- $15 Principle

...on 11/** my auto loan company received a check from IntelliPayment (my 10/** payment they deducted from my account was never posted to my loan, it was sent to my auto loan company 4 WEEKS LATER. My 10/** payment had 30 Days to occur interest appose to 14 resulting in a high interest payment).

11/** - $35 Interest

- $90 Principle

Summing it all up, $295 went into my Interest and $230 went into my principle. Had IntelliPayment stuck to the agreement of sending my auto loan my biweekly payments, over the course of 3 would have been $225 (Interest) and $375 (Principle).

I never agreed for IntelliPayment to choose what payments they decide to deduct from my account biweekly and send as a check to my auto loan 4 weeks later. When I explained all this to a customer service rep, I was informed this is how they process your payments to get you to pay less in interest over the life of the loan. The situation I came into is exactly how I mentioned above - my biweekly payments had majority of it being dumped into my Principle and the less into my Interest (due to payments being made onto 14-days worth of occurring interest.) When those biweekly payments were not posted onto my account, my loan had 30 days worth of occuring interest in between payments resulting in majority of my payment being dumped into my Interest and a small portion going to my Principle.

Ultimately, I had $611 dumped into my Interest which would have been avoided had IntelliPayment sent my biweekly payments as scheduled. I understand IntelliPayment has no control over the consumers auto loan interest but they do have control over when they decide to send your payment. And twice they decided to not send payment. The customer service rep informed me that this method works out in the long run when they send the check to the auto loan, but when I added up the numbers, those 2 occasions of 30-Day Occurring Interest was far greater then having the check processed as 'Principle Only.' I would have been satisfied if they sent just even partial payment and the remainder as a 'Principle Only' check, as long as a biweekly payment was to be made. Again IntelliPayment has no control over the interest I occur but it was better to have the $309.04 (the difference had they made biweekly payments) dumped into my Principle as appose to only $45 being dumped into my Principle because the 30-Day Occuring Interest was high.

The service rep asked what I would like to be done. I informed him that I would like a credit or refund of $309.04. And he persisted that they're not going to do that because they can't control how the auto loan applies my payment and the interest that I occur. Which I get, but I did not authorize IntelliPayment to send certain biweekly payments to my auto loan in the form of a check 4 weeks later. Its taken out of my account biweekly, so payment should be sent biweekly. Had 30 Days not lapsed in between payments, I would have had $309.04 go into my Principle instead of $611 being dumped into my Interest and I want my money back. Over the course of 8 biweekly payments, you can see $180-$200 being dumped into Principle and $125 being dumped into my interest. When 30 Days lapse because they sent checks without authorization from me, resulted in $15 (in Principle) and $313 (in Interest), this happened 2x for those 2 occasions. Regardless the fact that IntelliPayment does not control your interest rate, they control sending biweekly payments which is what I agreed to, biweekly payments. Even my auto loan agreed that the 30-Day Occurred Interest was far more outstanding than to have a check deposited as principle only (which the auto loan did not deposit as Principle Only anyway). At the end of the day, I pay more in principle with biweekly payments as appose to Intellipayment sending my money 4 weeks later as a check. In all the rep said, "Ma'm I can't stay on the phone anymore so what do you want me to do?"

It doesn't matter that it didn't negatively impact my credit report, or that my payments are ahead, its the principle that biweekly payments were not sent when they were suppose to which negatively impacted my auto loan payment.Desired Settlement: I want a refund of $284.04 (that is $309.04 minus the $25 cancellation fee). The $309.04 is the total amount that would have been applied to my principle on a Biweekly payment including all payments made into the principle already when these transactions occurred.

Response:

We have spoken with the customer with regards to her complaint and were able to reach a resolution. We reviewed the IntelliPayment Biweekly Plan with the customer, and explained that adjustments have been made to their account to ensure future principle payments are remitted more expeditiously.

We apologized for any earlier miscommunication or misunderstanding with respect to the timing of these payments. We reviewed the manner in which daily interest is accrued to the customer’s loan account and agreed that, although the allocation of principle and interest may change going forward, any additional interest accrued due to the timing of the previous principal payments was nominal.

We strive to always provide customers with all the information they require to make an informed decision on whether or not to enroll in IntelliPayment, whether this is through our marketing collateral, through our enrollment forms which customers sign, or through conversations with our customer support. We are always looking to improve, and we appreciate the feedback from all of our customers.
