I have been subsciber to https://adviseronline.investorplace.com/ for multiple years. I had an occastional advertisting message form them and I asked to unsubscribe. it appeared to be honored intermittentlt.
Over the past several days I have been receiving 2 or 3 emails per day from https://investorplace.com/hot-topics/louie-navellier-super-stocks-to-buy/ They will not remove me. It is incessant and annoying.
IN addition, you can see the history of *** at www.brokercheck.com and also here http://www.investmentnews.com/article/20170831/FREE/170839979/sec-charges-navell...

On November 24th 2017 I purchased a 2 year subscription to their *** service for $1,497. My Account Number is ***. The last trade alert I received from *** was on June 20, 2018.

On August 10 I received an email from *** stating that all of ***'s products had been moved to them. Subsequently I was told that my subscription was now called ***.

I have written to both *** and Investor Place Media stating that I do not agree with this unilateral change to a new product and a new publisher. Neither have responded.

InvestorPlace Media Response • Aug 15, 2018

On August 10th 2018 ***’s *** service was taken over by ***. InvestorPlace Media does not have control over how *** manages the publication. In an effort to resolve this dispute we have reached out to *** to request the cancellation and refund of this subscription. We will contact the customer directly via email.

While I do not agree that Investor Place Media can "sell" my subscription on to *** without getting the approval of the customer, I am happy that Investor Place Media has forwarded my request for a refund of the subscription to *** and I will wait for their reply.

In mid January, 2018, I purchased a subscription to "The Independent Adviser for *** Investors". On January 17, I received a "Welcome" email (from Dan W, Editor of The Independent Adviser), which listed "4 important steps to get started. Step 3, in pertinent part, read as follows: "Your 30-Day Free Trial of the Independent *** Fund Analyzer starts now!" No mention whatsoever that, after expiration of the 30-day free trial, I would be automatically charged for the Analyzer.

When my credit card statement for the February 3--March 2, 2018 billing cycle arrived, there was a Feb 15 charge of $199.00 labeled "*** Fund Analyzer".
I called the phone number for the merchant shown on my statement and spoke to a representative. I explained to the representative that I had not ordered the Analyzer" and was only interested in the 6-month subscription to the Independent Adviser. The representative, after conferring with a supervisor, advised me that I could not get a refund because I did not notify the company that I did not want to continue with the subscription. I pointed out to him that I did not request this subscription and cannot be required to accept it. He said I did accept it because the email receipt I received required me to take action to decline continuing the subscription within 30 days after the 30-day free trial period. I characterized this manner of selling the Analyzer subscription as an unfair trade practice and that it is illegal to compel a consumer to pay for a product or service the consumer did not, in fact, ask for. Otherwise, a company could simply send a product (or, as in this case, a service) to a consumer and expect them to pay for it. Note: the so-called email "receipt" made no mention, whatsoever, that the subscription to the Analyzer would continue automatically, unless the company was notified otherwise. And, further, there was no mention of when the company must be notified nor even the cost of the Analyzer.

The subscription information terms and conditions subscribers opt-in to upon order submission are explained on the order page at time of order. When *** subscribed on 01/17/2018 the following information was explained just above the button customers click to submit their order (a copy of the original order form is attached):

Uninterrupted Service Guarantee: After your first 6 months of service, your subscription to The Independent Adviser will continue without interruption for as long as you wish, unless you instruct us otherwise. We'll notify you by email prior to your card being charged and bill you the discounted rate of $34.95 per quarter each time your subscription is about to expire. You'll never have to worry about missing a single issue or hotline, and you may cancel at any time. Our risk-free guarantee means you may cancel within the first 30 days of service and receive a full refund or opt out of auto-renew after that with no further obligation. Once your free 30-day trial of The Independent *** Fund Analyzer is up, you will be billed $199 each year that you remain a subscriber. You may call our customer service team toll-free at *** to adjust your auto-renew preferences at any time.

In the interest of resolving this complaint I have issued a full refund of $199.00 to the customer's credit card. Please be advised the customer's subscription to The Independent Adviser for *** Investors remains active and is still on auto-renew. If *** does not contact us prior to 07/15/2018 his subscription will auto-renew. He will be notified via email 30 days prior to the auto-renew action.

I subscribed to a newsletter "portfolio grader" in March 2017. I did not authorize automatic renewal. As soon as I saw a charge on my credit card (4 days after subscription expired) I contacted Investor Place Media and advised them of same and requested a refund to my credit card. I have not used the service in over six months. They replied that the subscription is non refundable and will continue for another year.

InvestorPlace Media Response • Apr 10, 2018

The customer ordered *** Portfolio Grader Ratings Guide online on 04/01/2017. The order page contained the following language above the button to click to submit the order:

When you order your copy of my Portfolio Grader Ratings Guide, you'll take advantage of our convenient automatic renewal plan. You'll receive my newest quarterly Ratings Guide the moment it's released. We'll simply charge your credit card the amount you paid for your initial term unless you contact us prior to your Guide being sent. You'll never have to worry about renewal notices or missing a single quarterly report. Of course, you can cancel your service at any time.

No communication was received from the customer to cancel the service prior to the automated renewal so the order was renewed and $39.00 was charged. The customer was emailed notice of the pending charge 30 days prior.

In the interest of resolving this dispute we have canceled the service and issued a refund of $39.00.

appears honest and provide valuable information

Dear Sir/Madam,

I have been receiving a large number of unrequested emails from InvestorPlace Media, LLC. I have clicked on the link to unsubscribe from their solicitations but the company continues to email their adds for various financial investment services. I do not know how the company got my email address. I have never done any business with them and never requested any information or service from them. Their emails are not wanted and repeated requests to this company to delete my email from their records has not been honored.

Thank you, ***.

InvestorPlace Media Response

Mr. provided his email address (***) to InvestorPlace Media online to receive a free report by *** called "Vanguard's Best & Worst Funds". When I attempted to look him up on our database with the name and email address information he provided in the complaint I was unable to locate him. So I asked our Customer Service Manager to reach out to him via phone to straighten the situation out. It appears he has an automated email forward set up so that it seems like we were sending to *** and so any time he entered that email address on our unsubscribe page our system couldn't locate him to conduct the unsubscribe. Once we discovered it was really *** we were emailing we were able to put through the unsubscribe and stop the marketing emails from being sent. Mr. should receive no further emails from InvestorPlace Media unless he orders something else from our publishing company.

Thank you for your help on this. I have never requested help from Revdex.com and I am very impressed that the business contacted be within a few hours of my complaint sent to Revdex.com and offered a satisfactory resolution.

I receive 1-3 emails from *** every day on average. I started unsubscribing around July 16, 2017 choosing the “Please unsubscribe me from all promotional emails.” Radio button.
As I was still getting a steady stream of emails from them, I clicked the unsubscribe link in the email for every email. This became a daily task.
The unsubscribe webpage indicates that it will honor your request in 7-10 days.
10 days from July 16, 2017 is July 26, 2017.
By July 26,2017, still receiving their emails, I called *** and spoke to a representative indicating that I have a big issue and that I need to be unsubscribed from every and all emails from ***, no matter what the sender name, sender title, signature identity is.
After receiving more email from them, I called *** on July 27, 2017. I reiterated my concerns and that I do not want to receive ANY MORE email from ***, no matter what name or signature identity they wanted to make up. The representative indicated that they unsubscribed me as an action from my call the day before. I requested that he unsubscribe me again as these emails have to stop and this issue has to be resolved.
10 days from July 26, 2017 is August 5, 2017.
You can see from the email log that I received an email from them on August 5 and August 6, 2017.
This is HARASSMENT. There is no reason that I should still be receiving email from them. Additionally, I should not have to click on every single email to unsubscribe no matter what name or signature identity is associated with it, “unsubscribe from all promotional emails” means just that.
They seem to be making up new names and fund names and signature titles, then sending you more email. Again, “unsubscribe from all promotional emails” means just that.

InvestorPlace Media Response

The regrettable experience *** had is the complete opposite of what we strive for at *** Our unsubscribe pages do quote 7 - 10 business days to allow for being closed on the weekends and for days we may prepare marketing efforts ahead of time. But, for the most part, unsubscribe requests result in stopping marketing emails from being sent about 48 hours after the initial request. *** complaint caused me to investigate the entire process and I discovered a system error that has been in place since we switched to a new database on July 11, 2017. We stopped sending all marketing material to *** on the afternoon of 08/07/17 and fixed the database issue for other subscribers on 08/08/17. A customer service supervisor reached out to *** via phone on 08/09/17 and confirmed he did desire to continue to receive paid fulfillment emails for his subscription to ***. I would like to repeat our apologies to *** for a less than desirable experience.
