I am looking for a prorated refund of my membership fee paid due to lack of customer service and the fulfillment of the services promised.
In 08/14/19 I had a one hour conversation with a It's Just Lunch sales representative ("Date Specialist") called Jessica (no last name) that sold me on their services to become a member. She promised me at least two (2) dates a month or a year of membership, whatever came first. She told me that IJL would change my life. Her sales pitch was very compelling because I think they know that one is in a very vulnerable space and they take advantage of this situation to sell their services.

Yet, soon after I signed the contract -that one does not get to review until one has signed and PAID- and I had my first interaction with my Debbie H (my Sr Matchmaker & Certified Life Coach), it all felt like a bait and switch situation.
As one month passed and I did not hear back from Debbie I called her to better understand why no dates had been scheduled for me after Jessica sold me on the fact that I would have at least two (2) dates a month. Debbie in a very abrupt and direct manner proceed to tell that IJL was not about quantity but QUALITY so I had to wait for her to work on my matches, which she assured me she was. Later she proceed to tell me about another customer (an older woman who was looking for a match) in a jokingly manner, which I found very inappropriate and unprofessional.

My first match cancel our dates two (2) times on a row, so I never even met him.
The second match, if you call this a match, was completely off as so it was the third one.
Debbie has not been able to match me with any suitable date and when I have asked for a refund she simply offers to put my membership on hold. I have expressed clearly that this is not what I want. I want a prorated refund of my membership fee which has been denied based on the statement that they are fulfilling their services and a year has not passed.

I am very dissatisfied with their overall service, LACK of customer service and the fact that have not fulfilled any of the promises they did (Jessica) when she signed me in. This feels completely like a scam and shoddy company that does not conduct a honest, reputable and professional business.
Please find attached the contract that I signed after they collected my payment.

Desired Outcome

Based on the contract attached and the fact that IJL has not been able to match me with ANY suitable prospect and I am an unhappy and dissatisfied customer that has complained verbally and in written fashion to the company requesting a prorated refund of my membership I am looking for the Revdex.com to please help me to get this refund expedited ASAP.

It's Just Lunch regrets to learn the consumer has not enjoyed her experience. Her membership is for 12 months and 24 dates. Matchmaking is a fine-tuning process and she has only utilized three of her 24 dates. IJL takes the feedback from each date and fine tunes the matchmaking process to learn more about the consumer and get closer to achieving her dating goals. IJL will have a member of our management team reach out further to discuss. We look forward to working with the consumer as IJL has provided the services under the terms of the membership agreement and can continue to do so and a refund is not appropriate.

Company did not respect the contract agreement
After becoming a member and soliciting their service, I paid the fee of $2500 for a service that was never delivered by the Co, of bringing to my attention one match/date monthly for 6 months. I was contacted once in regards to a match that I also found on a dating site, and didn't work, so I advised the match maker about this and she then contacted me with a 2nd match that did not meet my criteria at all, which were a previously married man who is also a parent. The 3rd match also did not meet these criteria, the man was never married, no children.

After the first month of membership, while my match maker changed twice, no one has ever contacted me, despite my leaving voice mail and also emailing. This all occurred in August 2019. I did get an e-mail on Dec.13th, finally, from a new match maker, stating that they are still looking for matches for me because they want to be selective...Really? I let this new person, Debbie, know that I was in a good, committed relationship that I found myself, and needed the Co to refund my money. They would not refund, stating that they could put my membership on hold until I need them to find matches again, and, she added "hopefully soon" - meaning she was hoping my current relationship didn't work??? That's appalling and completely unprofessional coming from a match making service Co!!

Desired Outcome

Refund

It's Just Lunch is happy to hear the consumer has met someone! We have placed her account on hold and extended her hold time as a good faith effort. Finding a relationship in or outside of IJL does not constitute IJL providing a refund as IJL still can provide the services to the consumer. We wish her all of the best in her new relationship. Thank you.

Over a year ago I signed a contract. I have been on zero dates. I get contacted every few months with a person who meets none of my specs.
Signed in October of 2018. Had to contact them EVERY time I wanted a date. I would be sent on every few months that not only didnt match my specifications, it also had things I specifically asked not to have. The person who contacted me changed all the time. When I asked what pictures they had of me, they said they had none even though I had sent. The one person that I said yes to suddenly was "no longer a member." I am a single mom with little funds. It took me over a year to save up. I am requesting a full refund as I have not been on one date!

Desired Outcome

Refund of $2195.

It's Just Lunch regrets to learn the consumer has not enjoyed her experience. She has declined to meet 8 matches provided and 1 match that she accepted became unavailable. The consumer has six available matches left and IJL will continue the search and select process, however, the only way to know if you have true chemistry with someone is to sit down face to face and get to know the other person. Our most successful clients trust their matchmaker and meet the matches they have in mind for them. We look forward to gathering more feedback from the consumer on how to improve the matchmaking process for her. Thank you.

I signed a contract with this company before reading their many negative reviews and fraudulent practices. They did not keep their end of the contract
This company is currently being sued in a class action lawsuit and have settled for $4.7 million dollars due to fraudulent practices. Unfortunately I signed a contract with them before I knew all of this. They are not abiding by their contract. I paid $2,497.00 for their services.

Desired Outcome

I am requesting a full refund of $2,495.00

It's Just Lunch regrets to learn of the consumers dissatisfaction. IJL has moved the consumer to another matchmaker in an effort to resolve her concerns and the consumer declined a match on Friday because she was not feeling him. This is completely up to her to accept or decline her matches, however our Clients that are the most successful accept the matches we have in mind for them. We will start the search and select process for her next match and we look forward to working with the consumer. Thank you!

When I was signed up was told one thing and they delivered something else. I asked for my money back they said "no"
I signed up for " Its Just Lunch " in October 25th. I was told by the lady who signed me up that she was local, and how they paid attention to destabilize. Few days later I believe the 4th November 2019 another rep called me/ FaceTime to verify me. On the 7th of November I got a call from the same lady trying to fix me up with some one over my age limit and living 2 1/2 hours away. I had to say no 4 times while she continuously tried to convince me to go out with her. Finally she gave up and than she had no clue where I lived. Than she said I will have to pass this to so ruin your area. After a while I left her a message saying I was not impressed with the service. Did not appreciate being lied to by the First Lady and you had no clue about me. I simply want my money back.

Today the 25th of November I sent a email to the lady who signed me up. She did not respond but got a standard reply from
The company that they were putting my membership in hold for a year and no refunds. Later I got a call from one of their reps from Florida , after I told her what happened she continued to be in denial and finally told me no refunds . Then she said " I don't like being berated and hung up .

There was no apology from her

Desired Outcome

Just need help in getting my money back

It's Just Lunch regrets to learn the consumer has not been satisfied with his experience as this is not the norm with IJL. The consumer has violated the terms of his agreement as he has used very foul and abusive language which is completely unprofessional and deemed inappropriate, and grounds for termination of his membership agreement. He did file a dispute with his card issuing bank and that dispute was ruled in IJL's favor. We urge the consumer to reach out to the member of IJL's management team that is reaching out to discuss how we can move forward, however we expect professional communication from the consumer, which has provided to him by IJL at all times. IJL has and can continue to provide the services as outlined the membership agreement and is not eligible for a refund. Thank you.

The sales person made verbal agreements for the service which she had no intention of fulfilling.
I was contacted a sale person who was aggressive and should have set off red flags to me. The price was $3,000 which I did not like, and I said I would have to research It's Just Lunch. The sales person did not like this and became more aggressive. I said I would only buy if there were criteria of my matches met and the sales lady agreed. There is then a waiting period of one month before they will do anything which should have been another red flag. Once they have your money, they want to put you on hold for one month to make sure you cannot get your money back. The match for me did not match the verbal agreement and I knew right away It's Just Lunch Only wanted my money and did nothing more than other dating web sites that do computer matching for $60.

Desired Outcome

Refund the money that was paid.

It's Just Lunch Dallas Response • Dec 22, 2019

It's Just Lunch regrets to learn the consumer did not enjoy his experience. The consumer had a 6 month 4 date membership and has been serviced fully and his membership is expired. All of the terms set forth of the consumers membership were outlined in the initial agreement the consumer executed upon becoming an IJL Client. Nothing oral or written outside the agreement would have an impact on the services provided as IJL provides the services outlined in the membership agreement. We regret to learn the consumer did not meet his special someone and wish him all the best in the future. Thank you.

They are nice to you until they get there Money. They do not care about the consumer
What started off as a good experience quickly went downhill. They say yes, we will give you a refund if we don't match you with anyone. Be very specific and know that if they just send you one person to look at for a possible date that is what they consider a "match". Doesn't matter if it's outside of what you are looking for, they consider it a "match". Then the matching expert, HA, kept sending me "matches" that didn't even come close to what I was looking. Communication was horrible with this person. When I did talk to her I never felt like she was listening because I had to repeat myself several times and she continued with her agenda not what I was asking for.
After sending a dozen emails to get this experience back on track they gave me a new expert, we will call her expert #2, HAHA!. She was nice, she listened, agreed that we should match on my specifics, then things went downhill again fast. Whenever she would send me a match it was completely way off base but after some pressure from her, I agreed to meet one of the matches. When I got to my date, he didn't even look like the person in the profile that was sent to me. He had hair in the pictures and this guy was completely bald. I regress... I agreed to another date with someone I was didn't want to meet, not my type but with enough pressure from dating expert #2 I went on the date. Not even close to a match....
After the second date goes bad I talked to another expert just to have her judge me on what I was looking for and telling me that it is next to impossible for them to find me a match, but I thought this is what they do, they are a date match company right??
So Expert #2 starts sending profiles, and now that I think about it, it was probably planned on purpose, and I say no because they are not even close to what I am looking for. I have 4 dates left, worried that my membership would expire after a year they assured me that they would work with me to keep the 4 dates, no problem...RIGHT. I was informed by the expert #2 that after so many no's they are considered dates and that my 4 dates had been fulfilled. I am perplexed at this point, she started to talk down to me explaining how businesses work, I asked if she thought I was ignorant with a reply of YYEEESSS. I started to get upset like anyone would, she started to end the call saying to have a good day and hung up...this was one of the worst experiences I have ever had. I thought going to a dating service I would be treated with respect and they would help me find Mr. right, all they are doing is trying to get your money, 2500.00$, and play you. Don't do this!

Desired Outcome

I just want a refund, nothing that they promised or advertised is true.

It's Just Lunch Dallas Response • Oct 29, 2019

IJL thanks the consumer for expressing her concerns and we regret to learn she did not enjoy her experience or the matches IJL provided throughout her membership. The client's membership has since expired as all of the services have been rendered. The Consumer's agreement states the following"IJL will coordinate the schedules of its Clients and Participants and book a meeting for an introduction between two Clients or a Client and a Participant at a venue selected by IJL (hereafter "Date Introduction"). Before receiving a Date Introduction, an IJL representative may present Client with one or more candidates for Client's evaluation for a Date Introduction (a "Match"). If Client accepts the Match, IJL will schedule the Date Introduction. Client may decline or pass on a Match for a Date Introduction and such action will not be counted as satisfying the number of Date Introductions that IJL has agreed to provide to Client. However, IJL is not obligated to present more than eight (8) Matches in fulfilling Client's six (6) Date Introduction membership at any time. After presenting eight (8) Matches, any further Matches presented to Client will be considered to be a Date Introduction and will be counted as satisfying IJL's obligations to the Client regardless of whether or not the Matches result in Date Introductions with the suggested Match(es). Once six (6) Date Introductions and eight (8) months ("Term Months"), whichever comes later, have been provided or have passed, IJL will be deemed to have fulfilled its obligations under the terms of this Agreement and this Agreement will expire."

The client attended 2 IJL dates and declined to meet the remaining matches presented which fulfilled her membership agreement. We have provided the consumer the option to re-visit the matches presented and allow IJL to coordinate a date with those that are available as the only way to know if you have true chemistry is to meet the matches IJl has in mind for you in Face to Face. IJL has provided the services and a refund is not appropriate.

No service was delivered! As promised have not heard from them in about 2 years! Asked for refund! Declined
Had two bad dates over 2 years ago! Have not heard from them since! Asked for refund after 5 months was declined!

Desired Outcome

Like refund no service rendered as promised

It's Just Lunch regrets to learn the consumer has not enjoyed her experience thus far. She expressed her concerns with her card issuing bank and during the dispute process her membership was paused until resolved. This has since been resolved and we are actively working with the consumer to resolve her concerns and continue the search and select process for her next match. IJL has provided the services under the terms of the membership and can continue to do so, and as such a refund is not appropriate. Thank you.

Customer Response • Oct 31, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
It's Just Lunch (IJL) falsely informed Revdex.com that the matter is resolved with the credit card company. That is a false statement by IJL. The dispute is unresolved and ongoing. Revdex.com can confirm this by participating in a conference call between me and my credit card company. The credit card company will confirm that the dispute is unresolved and ongoing. The documents I provided to Revdex.com demonstrate that IJL did not provide the services to me, nor were the services available to me. As Revdex.com can see from the emails I provided, my many attempts to get a response from IJL were unsuccessful.

Was guaranteed 13 dates in 1 year- after 5 months- not one date. Was sent women not meeting my criteria at all and only a total of 2 in 5 months.
Talked to a salesperson in Dallas named Heather that that assured me if I joined for $3500 that there would be plenty of women in Portland OR where I reside that met my criteria on looks and personality. I sent her a picture of my former girlfriend and she said that her database had as good if not better looking women. I signed up and after 5 months I have not had one date at all. I have been sent only 2 women that did not meet my criteria at all. I have asked for a refund and they now have stopped ALL contact- both email and phone. I have a string of emails for documentation should this go to litigation. Furthermore- they used 4 different matchmakers on me as they all left or were dismissed from the company. I have proof of multiple lies and have employee names that lied to me if needed. I am requesting a full refund. This is the most unethical company I have ever dealt with.

Desired Outcome

I am requesting a full refund of $3500 since they have not supplied one date in 5 months and for repeatedly lying to me.

It's Just Lunch Dallas Response • Oct 29, 2019

It's Just Lunch has worked directly with the consumer to resolve his concerns satisfactorily and have signed documentation from the consumer to confirm as such. We are happy we were able to work directly with the consumer on a resolution. Thank you!

IJL was to supply me eligible candidates for dating. Six weeks in and no dates yet.
Not only have I not gone on any dates. There e-mail system was down for nearly 3 weeks. I paid 4500 for 24 dates in 12 months. Six weeks now and no dates. They have sent a few candidates to me, but none them help interest for me.

Desired Outcome

I would like a refund of my fees. It would seem they are not able to supply dates as originally committed.

It's Just Lunch Dallas Response • Oct 29, 2019

It's Just Lunch appreciates the feedback the consumer is providing and regrets to learn the consumer has not enjoyed his experience thus far. The consumer has 24 dates over the course of 12 months. IJL has provided 4 dates to the consumer which he opted to decline and has not yet accepted a date. The consumers membership agreement defines how the dates will be provided with the following "Client is eligible to receive a total of twenty-four (24) Dates or twelve (12) Months, whichever comes later. All Dates will be matched and coordinated by an IJL representative. All Dates will be within the criteria provided by Client at the time of joining with respect to age, religion and parental status. If IJL presents a Date that is outside of the Client's criteria with respect to age, religion and parental status, Client may agree to accept the Date at Client's discretion. If declined, such Date will not be included in the twenty-four (24) Dates. Except as expressly provided herein, if Client does not accept the Date for any other reason, the Date will count toward the total twenty-four (24) Dates available under this Agreement. Once twenty-four (24) Dates have been provided or twelve (12) Months have passed, whichever comes later, IJL will be deemed to have fulfilled its obligations under the terms of this Agreement and this Agreement will expire."

IJL has taken his feedback and is working to fine tune the matchmaking process. IJL believes the only way to truly know if you are going to have chemistry or that spark with someone is to trust the matches their professional matchmaker has in mind for them and meet them face to face. A member of our management team will reach out further to discuss the consumers concerns as we want to ensure a positive dating experience and help him find his special someone.

Customer Response • Oct 31, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
IJL has made no effort to contact me or provide any potential dates in weeks since filing my complaint. When going through the interview process I explained that I was looking for someone who has similar interests. I take impeccable care of myself and expect someone similar. I explained in detail what I was looking for and was assured they had many candidates that would match with me. It seams this was all a sales pitch just to take my money. Not to mention there e-mail and phones were down for nearly a month after I signed up. It would seem this company does not have resources to deliver whats promised. I am business owner, if I cant deliver what is promised to my customers or they are not satisfied in any way, I give a full refund no questions asked. Its not like I asked for refund months into the relationship. I asked for a refund a few weeks after sending payment. Three weeks of this time IJL was not able to communicate.

Contract stated 3 business days to cancel. I attempted to cancel contract within the 3 business days.
I signed a membership agreement with It's Just Lunch on Tuesday Oct 2. Thursday Oct 4 and Friday Oct 5 I made repeated attempts to contact a member of the sales team via phone and email to cancel the contract. The contract states that 3 business days will be allowed for cancellation.
I have not been able to contact a member of the sales team to contact my contract.

Desired Outcome

I made repeated attempts to cancel my contract within the 3 business days. I am seeking a refund.

It's Just Lunch Dallas Response • Oct 29, 2019

The consumer has been provided a refund within the term of the cancellation outlined in her membership agreement. We wish her all the best in the future. Thank you.

I not received any of the services that It's Just Lunch claimed they would provide.
I could not agree more with the complaint below and all of those that follow. Following is a run-down of my interactions with It's Just Lunch, which have been EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING. I had a first phone call with Eva in the sale department. She was extremely kind and friendly. She explained the program and took my Bank of America credit card over the phone, then while still on the phone with me she emailed a contract and asked I sign it ASAP while she stayed on the phone. I did. Once they have your $2995.00 it is virtually impossible to reach anyone with a concern as since that day I have emailed numerous times and called with no responses. I spoke with Eva in Sales on 8/9/19 and signed the contract and the transaction #XXXXXXXXXXX was emailed to me as confirmation of the sale. I emailed 8/12/19 expressing concerns I had since I had not yet been contacted by their matchmaker and I had read very disconcerting reviews online. 8/12/19 I sent profile photos to Eva based on her request. 8/13/19 I sent an email to Erica the matchmaker to "check in" as I still had not heard from her. 8/14/19 Erica sent me a Welcome email. 8/14/19 Erica sent me a second Welcome email which was identical to the first email. 8/14/19 I responded to Erica's emails requesting to schedule time "to talk". 8/15/19 I sent another email to Eva explaining I still had not heard from Erica regarding scheduling a time to speak by phone. 8/16/19 I received a third Welcome email from Erica. 8/19/19 I received another Welcome email from Erica. 8/21/19 I received another Welcome email "REVISED" from Erica. 8/21/19 Erica sent me an email with a "match" profile. It was a gentleman I had already matched with on Match.com a few months prior. I responded to the email telling her this and she said she would "look into that" and get back to me. 8/27/19 I sent another email to Erica to check in and find out the status of things and I explained I was extremely disappointed and wanted to know who I could speak with about obtaining a refund. 9/5/19 I had a Facetime call at 10am, PT with Sheri who interviewed me briefly for my supposed profile. I expressed to Sheri then my disappointment at not receiving any further communication with Erica, profiles or information about dates being arranged. 9/10/19 Erica sent another email with a "match". I responded asking if we could talk by phone. 9/10/19 Erica sent another email with a "RECALL" for the previous match email she had sent. 9/10/19 I emailed Erica again regarding any matches or status. 9/13/19 I emailed a full body profile picture which Eva had asked I do when we spoke by phone initially on 8/9/19. 9/30/19 I left a voicemail message for IJL Customer Service. 10/1/1 I emailed Erica, Eva and Sheri requesting a refund explaining again that I was very disappointed in their service since I had not heard from anyone and it had been nearly six weeks with no matches. 10/2/19 I left a second voicemail message for customer service.

Again, I agree with every complaint listed here about It's Just Lunch. They are committing intentional fraud and should be held accountable. I want a full refund!

Desired Outcome

I would like a full refund by It's Just Lunch. I have several emails I sent them requesting a refund to which they never responded.

It's Just Lunch Dallas Response • Oct 30, 2019

It's Just Lunch regrets to learn of the consumers dissatisfaction. We have been attempting to reach her to discuss her concerns and have reached out ten times over the course of the last few weeks to connect with the consumer and work towards a resolution. We urge the consumer to reach out to her Matchmaker as we would like to discuss her next match and how we can work to improve her experience as client satisfaction is of the upmost importance to IJL. Thank you.

Still have time, two dates left that were guaranteed. All calls go to voicemail with none returned. Email not working.
Purchased a six month membership and guaranteed at least four dates. Received phone call and when I returned got voicemail. Four more attempts with same result and now were returned. Email not working. Purchase price $2300.

Desired Outcome

I'd like all or at least half of my payment refunded because they broke the contract.

It's Just Lunch Dallas Response • Oct 30, 2019

It's Just Lunch has connected with the consumer since she shared her concerns to the Revdex.com. We are proactively working on her next match. Her membership is for whichever comes last, so IJL will continue to work with her until the dates have been provided. Her membership is on track as she has four dates over the course of six months and we have provided two thus far. Her matchmaker is hard at work on her next match and we look forward to working with her to provide a positive dating experience. Thank you!

Failed to deliver according to contract, apologized to me, made excuses for fake "matches", I paid $2400 more than a year ago, got nothing, was
Paid $2400 to IJL April 2018. They were to provide "matches" based on soecifics I requested. O e was no smoking or alcohol. First thing first "date" did was order a drink. Both "datesIJL provided told me they were called by IJL because they were on Match.com. I confronted IJL about this and they responded in apology and said they had most women, no men in my region of IJL. They advertised they had a "local" office I could visit in Richmond or Norfolk for my profile Interview. When I requested the address, they admitted they did NOT have thoses offices, and my I interview ended up being on Skype with an IJL member in Miami. IJL created a profile of me they said they gave out to potential 'matches," but it was rife with misspellings, including misspelling the same word twice in the dodocument, included hobbies which I did NOT include in my profile (said I like to snowski...never have and I hate the snow.) Took weeks to get responses to any questions or requests. Wouldn't refund me!!

Desired Outcome

I want a complete refund for being completely misrepresented (I am a professional writer and have excellent info which was not used, hobbies listed I did not provide, as well as other errors. Failed to respond fo weeks or months when I co fronted them about the fake matches they provided, my error filled profile, etc. I had to make my own profile, which they accepted. But never got me anyone who was actually looking for a rwlationt as per my profile. I have all emails, phone records,if correspondence,as well as the error filled profile an the one I ended up making myself. Bottom line, I asked them over and over, that since they KNEW as they signed me up, but FAILED to reveal, that they had no eligible men, much less any meeting my specifications (no drugs, smoking or drinking, age 45-60) because hardly any men sign on with IJL, wy did thy take my hard earned $2400. (2 mortgage payments) instead of just be truthful? That was wrong, unethical, and thievery. I could have gone on Match.com myself for free - which I did and found the exact same guys (I have the profiles from both Match and IJL) for FREE. Here's the key part: the saleagirl's clincher was " you know we will hav high quality men for you, bexause THEY have paid $2400 to find a date, too " which is in conflict with thei own contract which says they might use men from "outsie IJL" but NOT 100 percent. Mine were 100 percent from outside IJL, the first two they found. After about a year they sent two more after I requested a refund, because they did not meet my specs at all, and I don't know where thy came from.. I will provide all docs if you request, too hard to attach here from my cell phone. I hate the demeaning an insultin way this company has treated me and I insist on nothing but a full refund. There are class action lawsuits against IJL in nearly a dozen states...but not mine. . Probably because we I am their only customer in virginia.eii

It's Just lunch regrets to learn the consumer did not enjoy her experience. Her membership has been satisfied as she met someone on another dating site, placed her membership on hold and her account expired. Email from the consumer: From: ***, AignerGraphics Sent: Wednesday, June 05, 2019 4:41 PM To: *** Subject: RE: IJL MATCH Erica, I am currently seeing someone I met on Match.com Also, this person does not match the physical profile I set up (too short! Same height as me.) Please put my account on hold for the moment.

It's Just Lunch provided 3 dates that the consumer attended and she declined to meet 2 additional dates that were presented. The consumer is not eligible for a refund as all of the services have been rendered. We wish the consumer all of the best in the future.

I did not receive the services that were represented and that I paid for.
I purchased an "It's just Lunch" service agreement for professional matachmaking services on March 27, 2019. At the time of sale I was assured that there were many available men well suited for me. Once I made the purchase, they said was a one day only price, they were non responsive. They did not return calls or follow up in any way. I had to go on linkedin and contact the former president to get a response. Now almost 6 months later they still have not delivered on their promise. At some point (I was very verbal about the horrible service) they gave me a person they called a professional matchmaker. I am not sure who the other people I paid $2,500 were. I believed I was paying for a professional matchmaker. If I hadn't no wonder I received such pool service.
They say they guarantee a minimum of four dates within 6 months. Six months have almost come and gone and the only men they introduced me to were not interested in joining IJL themselves. One man did not join because it was a hard sales approach. The second man did not join because there were no women where he lived and he did NOT want to date women where I lived.
SO I paid $2.500 to "join" and they men they introduced me to paid ZERO. I asked for a refund since they did NOT provide the services I paid for. They declined my request and still they continue to NOT PERFORM they services I paid for!!
I did read about this and I know there were lawsuits where the IJL member won! I would like my money back.

Desired Outcome

I would like a full refund in the amount of $2.500. It's Just Lunch did not provide the services I paid for. I requested a refund, but they declined. I'd rather not take legal action if I can use this venue.

It's Just Lunch Dallas Response • Oct 30, 2019

It's Just Lunch is aware of the consumers concerns and we have been working with her and communicating with her on a regular basis to work to provide a positive dating experience. Several members of our management team and executive management team have communicated with the consumer to work to manage expectations on the process and the services to be provided as outlined in the membership agreement. IJL has contacted the consumer for her next date with no response. We urge the consumer to reach out to her Matchmaker to hear about her next IJL date. IJL has and can continue to provide the services and a refund is not appropriate. Thank you.

Profiles written by IJL are inaccurate. Once they have your $2000 it is virtually impossible to reach anyone with a concern.
9/23/18 signed contract and paid $2000.00

10/14/18 first date. His physical description, interests and hobbies did not match the profile I was provided by IJL.

11/27/18 second date. His physical description, interests and hobbies, and education did not match the profile IJL created for him. It became clear the profile he received on me was inaccurate as well.

11/27/18 I requested a copy of my profile. (IJL writes the profile and does not, as a matter of course, send it to the client for review and approval.)

11/28/18 I received a copy of my profile via e-mail. My educational background was incorrect. The description of personal interests were either incorrect or totally omitting the most important elements I provided them during my intake interview.

11/28/18 I sent them a list of corrections to my profile and requested a copy once the changes were made. Included in this e-mail was a request of how many men they actually have in the Salt Lake market in my age range (when I was being "courted" to sign up I was told there is a healthy market of men seeking an active woman like myself). This e-mail also requested they contact me to discuss a mutually agreeable termination of the contract since they were creating inaccurate profiles.

No response from IJL

12/18/18 second e-mail from me requesting the items from November be addressed.

No response from IJL

3/6/19 I received a match request for a date 4 years older than my indicated top limit.

3/8/19 I called IJL. I was placed on hold. I hung up after 15 minutes with no updates.

3/8/19 2nd call to IJL. Once again I was placed on hold. Bianca came on the line twice to fill me in on the status of my call. She said she was sending an e-mail to a person (or department) and they would definitely call me back before the end of the day. She was unwilling to provide a name or direct phone number of someone in customer service.

No response from IJL

3//13/19 I sent an e-mail to my "matchmaker" regarding the inappropriate match request and the fact no one had responded from customer service. I indicated I would be contacting an attorney.

No response from IJL

4/18/19 letter from attorney sent to IJL demanding refund of $2000.00 due to breach of contract and fraud.

No response from IJL

7/17/19 a family member was able to speak with an individual by the name of Marlo who said she lives in Salt Lake City and would be willing to speak with me about my experience and concerns. (This was the first time I came across the name Marlo as someone working the Salt Lake market. Her phone number is out of Florida)

7/23/19 I left a message on Marlo's voicemail asking her to return my call.

No response from IJL

Based on the many other reviews and complaints I have read, my case is typical of how IJL handles customer concerns. They do not respond if a client has an issue once they have their money. I advise anyone considering this company to look up the 2008 class action suit settled in 2016 finding against IJL before giving them any money.

The reason I chose to file a complaint against IJL with the Revdex.com is not that they have a very one-sided contract under which they get away with reprehensible business practices. I am filing this complaint because they are guilty of fraud even by their own contract's standard.

The contract states "IJL does not guarantee the accuracy of the information concerning its Clients, as this information is accepted by IJL as supplied by clients."

IJL is creating profiles with information not provided by the client. Thus, this clause does not protect them. They are committing intentional fraud and should be held accountable.

Desired Outcome

Refund of $2000.00 paid to IJL due to intentional fraud on their part.

It's Just Lunch regrets to learn of the consumers dissatisfaction. This is not the norm with IJL as we strive to provide each and every client with a fun and unique dating experience. We have contacted the consumer and worked towards an amicable resolution. We are happy to report the consumer has accepted the resolution and her concerns are resolved. We wish her the best in the future.

Customer Response • Aug 19, 2019

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)This case has been resolved to my satisfaction at this time.

Ive been a member for 4 months I was promised a date a month. I have been on zero dates.
What a joke! This was a huge financial decision to trust them in finding dates for myself. I am a veterinarian that travels a lot and needed help finding local people when I was home. I opened my "market" up to my entire state. I paid the initial $2900 and $295/month for hopes of having one date a month (their reported average). My first match was not attractive at all. I went over again what I wanted with my match maker Mel (who sounds like she is reading a script every time I speak with her) and even sent her pictures of my exes. Match number 2 was very attractive, we set up a date...... he cancelled on me twice!!. I said I would no longer make dates with him. A month and half goes by and I hear nothing. I call and as to speak to a manager, they take a message. My match maker calls back with a match. Once again he is not attractive. I put in another call for a manager, she calls me at 7pm on the day before a holiday. I return her call a week later because I now have her direct line. My matchmaker calls and says she has another match. He is also not attractive. I call the manager again and leave a message....waiting. At this point Im going to start disputing charges on my credit card. It has been 4 months with ZERO dates. This company is a joke!!

Desired Outcome

I want a full refund. I have been trying to talk to a manager for a month with no success.

It's Just Lunch regrets to lean of the consumers dissatisfaction as this is not the norm with IJL. This client is dating in our Raleigh, North Carolina Branch, not our IJL Dallas location. The client joined April 17, 2019. The client's membership agreement is an up-front interview fee followed by monthly payments where each payment is equal to 1 date or three declined matches. The consumer declined her first match Brian on April 23 as she was not attracted to his photo. IJL returned to the drawing board in the search and select process for her next match. Shortly there after on May 24th, the consumer elected to place her membership on hold until July 2nd, 39 days in total. During a hold period the consumer has elected to not receive matches as they are unavailable for dating. The consumer then declined her 2nd match James on July 3rd and her 3rd match Brent on July 16th. She has cancelled her membership per the terms outlined in her membership agreement and has 2 dates remaining. Our VP of Executive Matchmaking has been in communication with the consumer to address her concerns and work with her towards improving her dating experience. We look forward to presenting the consumer her final 2 dates and helping her find her special someone. Thank you.

Complete failure to provide services and dishonest business practices.
It's Just Lunch is entirely untrustworthy. I paid $4500 for this dating service and was told every match would be a paying customer and there was rough parity men/women. Both statements were outright false. Further, IJL offered a partial refund and then went completely silent. I then requested a full refund and further silence.

Desired Outcome

Refund. No services provided and false representation of services promised.

It's Just Lunch regrets to learn of the consumers dissatisfaction. He is dating in our Fort Lauderdale location, not Dallas. We have reached out to him and discussed his concerns and presented a resolution which the consumer agreed to as well. He had his first IJL date on July 11th and has been contacted this week with his next match. We look forward to continuing our relationship with the consumer and helping him find his special someone. Thank you.

Debbie, my matchmaker, truly knows her business and makes every effort to successfully match her clients. There is simply no comparison between dating apps and Just Lunch. The privacy, safety, professionalism and quality of people make Just Lunch the only option I'll consider in the future.
