I joined IJL a couple of months ago and am quite satisfied so far! Working with my matchmaker, Debbie H., has been a pleasure. She really got me excited early on and genuinely wants to help me find Mr. Right. I have been on 3 good dates and feel that she has a great sense for the type of partner I am looking for in a relationship. I am thankful for Debbie's hard work and support. Wish me luck!

IJL is not delivering what was promised in the sales process, and ignoring my request to cancel and get my money back.
I signed up for IJL 3 to 4 months ago, with lofty promises of a multitude of high-quality dates well matched to my personality, preferences and desired relationship outcomes. IJL has not at all delivered on its promises and has proven to be entirely incompetent in all of their interactions with me.

A few examples of my experiences thus far:

1) It took a month for my first date to get scheduled. It was cancelled the day before, and this contact had no availability for another month. Despite asking IJL to find other matches during this time frame, they did not deliver any other options.

2) After asking more than four times for the company to share my profile with me, IJL finally did (just this week). They incorrectly stated in my profile that I have children (I do not) and green eyes (I do not). They already corrected a prior error my one and only match shared with me - that I am a boating enthusiast (I am not).

3) They scheduled one match for me with an individual who lives 90 minutes away and does not ski. His profile lists skiing as an interest - and it's NOT true. I told IJL as part of my interview process that a non-skier was DEAL BREAKER as I ski every weekend during ski season. I also told them I did not want a long-distance relationship - I would qualify a 90 minute drive (more with traffic) to fall into the long-distance category.

4) They tried to arrange another match with an individual who first was 34 years old, then he was 47. And, first he had three children and didn't want more, and then he did want children. A date was scheduled, and then cancelled. And this happened all in the matter of a few hours. Clearly they do not have their facts straight on this match (or mine, or my any others).

5) IJL is extremely unresponsive to my outreach and feedback. Early on, when trying to make this work, I reached out multiple times to the assigned dating director (Dalia), with no reply even after multiple attempts. The manager (Monique) was then assigned after I complained - and I continue to have issues.

6) I asked IJL earlier this week for my account to be cancelled and to receive my money back, as I believe I have been defrauded. IJL has refused to provide any feedback on this request. We had a call scheduled last night - IJL did not follow through on this call, and has still not responded to my email request for resolution.

I believe IJL is a fraudulent organization that preys on individuals who fall into two camps: individuals who are 1) eager to find love or 2) have a busy life and money to spend.

IJL does not deliver promised services and has shown true incompetence through their inability to accurately profile the individuals who are part of the network - making it IMPOSSIBLE to successfully create connections.

From my personal experience, it also appears that IJL does not have the network it claims to have, as it is unable to find any suitable matches in my vicinity. IJL verabally stated that I was "very datable" and promised me well more than the minimum number of dates. More than three months in, I have yet to have even one suitable match.

Desired Outcome

I simply want to cancel the service and get my money back - the full $2,800. IJL may reference the contract I signed and say they owe me nothing. I would argue that IJL misrepresented its services and ability to find suitable matches, and thus the agreement should be null and void. IJL may also claim they do not owe me the entire amount, as they did set me up with one match (of four promised in the agreement). I would argue that this match does not at all qualify given that the individual lived 90 minutes away and lacked a must-have interest IJL was well aware of. At this point, based on my interactions and experiences with IJL, I have ZERO confidence that IJL can deliver on its promised services now or in the future, and no longer want to be a part of the network.

It's Just Lunch apologizes if the consumer has not enjoyed her experience thus far as this is not the norm and our goal is to make sure she has a positive dating experience. The feedback provided on her matches, experiences and dates has been helpful throughout the process. IJL did discuss her concerns with her and updated her account to work with a different Matchmaker. They did a full parameter review at the end of July, updated and revised her profile in early August and are now in the search and select process for her next match. We look forward to scheduling the consumer's next It's Just Lunch Date. Thank you!

Almost 5 months and 2 dates. Not what I expected. I had to switch dating coordinators after 3 1/2 months because my 1st one did nothing after the 1st Free intro to the service. My new coordinator seems to care but still not what I expected in terms of quantity and quality. Not worth $4500 that's for sure. I'm over being mad, now just dissappointed in myself for not doing more research. Ps. I also asked for a refund (partial or full) and was told to read the contract. No refunds! Buyer Beware...

I had a great experience with It's Just Lunch!!! I actually met my boyfriend ( still with him since Dec 2017) who was the first guy that they set me up with. My Director Debbie H ( based out of Florida but helps in the DFW area also) is awesome and calls me back every time I call her and when I am return her call. I would recommend if you ever try It's Just Lunch, you ask to work with Debbie H. because she cares and she will take care of you. I heard lately that she is a very popular and busy director. Thank you for all your help Debbie!! I would recommend you to all my friends/coworkers. Wish you alots of success going forward.

Please do your due diligence and hopefully you won't give them your hard earned money. I wish I had done my homework before I signed up. Though I realize that lawsuits don't necessarily mean anything regarding fault, a successful class action suit, and ongoing claims are not things to turn a blind eye to.

My experience has been awful like many others. The first date was NOTHING I had asked for. He actually was not a paying member and they had not been in contact with him in years. Upon digging him up from the archives, they failed to inquire if anything had changed with him. Plenty had, which made him a less than ideal candidate for me based on what I'd told them I was looking for. I was incensed and told them as much on the post date review. I immediately came to realize that they did not have my interests at heart and asked for a refund. Of course they declined. Horrible customer service. Why would you want to keep a client that is that dissatisfied?

The next date no showed and though I can't necessarily blame them for that, the communication afterward was lacking.

The next date occurred, but was nothing to write home about.

So all in all I've paid a lot of money for a little service. I'd have done better with an app on my phone and I'd have less to complain about regarding customer service.

Save yourself the aggravation and don't do it.

I called It's Just Lunch in March 2017 to hear about their services. I was given a high-pressure sales pitch by Heidi followed by "I just need your credit card number and we'll get started." I said "It's too expensive for me, but thank you for your time." She wouldn't let it go and kept pressuring me. I said, "It's too expensive for me and I will not be signing up." She wouldn't stop and I finally had to just hang up on her.
It is now January 2018 and I've received phone call after phone call, email after email every couple of weeks since March 2017. Every time I block their phone number, they call from a different number. Every time I block their email address, they email from a different address. I feel harassed by them and it must stop.

I have repeatedly provided profile information during my intake interviews, which was ignored. The service does not work.
I am seeking a refund of my service purchase because with numerous intake interviews none of that information was recorded to provide potential dates. I even spoke another time with the dating coordinator to provide my information again. Through 2 months no different action was taken. I requested a refund directly and was told they are not given. The fact is the service does not deliver even what they as you for and what you are seeking.

please refund my purchase as the services promised have not been delivered.

Its Just Lunch is BAD NEWS, it is a high pressured scam which I am embarrased to say I lost $2500 by believing their offer and so wishing to find a nice guy. As others I had long phone interviews, face time review and excitement about prospective dates they were going to introduce to me. Periodically my representative Clarisy would call to assure me she was in contact with someone and just waiting for an available date times. My first 'date' at a nice local restaurant was interesting gentleman that I learned while dining was only in town 2 days a week and lived 400 miles away. It was soon clear this gentlemen wants a local 'friend' 2 days a week and had no intention of moving North. When sharing my disappointment Clarisy, stated she couldn't ask where he lived only followed his request to date someone in my local area. She assured she was working on a better connection. She calls me three weeks later to share new gentleman, 76, he was just what I was looking for.....hold on..hold on. ..I was clear when I was interview I did not want to date anyone 5 years older than me. Clarisy argues he is 'young' for his age', very active! I asked her to be respectful of my limits, I would not invest any time otherwise. "She told I was being difficult and would always be alone with such narrow restrictions". Nice support for a Certified Life Coach. They made weak attempts to contact me, when I called ' working on someone now and we will get back to you'.
They did occasionally, always using EST & PST to their advantage. I would leave a message which, they will respond within 48hrs. I sent several emails directly, spoke to a mediator about Clarisy's disrespectful attitude and no dates in 6 months. They wore me down to where I want nothing to do with them. I requested a refund but their contract states they have a year to provide 7 dates.....it's been a year...w/1 date. It's Not LUNCH...it is a SCAM. CAUTION!!!! I did write them a message that I will share my experience with as many people as will listen, and I am!

Sales force oversold actual service, which was poorly lacking. Did not take delivery of dating service, yet cancellation/refund refused.
I formally requested a cancellation of my contract and a refund but was refused both. The high-end, exclusive dating concierge service I was sold when I initially signed the contract promised that I would be able to meet others who were attractive both physically and non-physically. This is at odds with what I have experienced so far, having received no correspondence in nearly a week and seeming to be less of a priority to my dating director than I would have anticipated for the price paid for the service ($2800). Further, it does not seem my input for attractiveness is taken into consideration, based on my direct complaint to the firm, which is completely opposite of what I was lead to believe in my initial conversation with the sales individual when I signed up with It's Just Lunch. Having not taken delivery of the services of IJL (signed up within the past week), I asked for a refund, but instead my account has been placed on hold and no refund issued.

Desired Outcome

I would like a refund of the $2800 I paid for the service I did not take delivery of.

We thank the Consumer for bringing his concerns to IJL's attention. After the complaint was submitted in October 2017 the consumer declined two additional matches and attended a date with Ellen in November 2017. He felt his date checked many of the boxes he was looking for just lacked physical chemistry which we noted and were in the search and select process for his next match. When we contacted him for his next match the Consumer opted to place his account on hold due to a newly formed relationship he had started, which we were thrilled for him! His membership has since expired. We wish the consumer nothing but the best in the future.

I contacted IJL, Cleveland, and spoke with Gigi on October 28, 2016, who was quite the sales person. After the initial interview which lasted 1.5 hours, she told me I needed to sign right away as there was another client interested and she only had 1 spot left at the discount rate of $3500. She verbally told me I would have at least a year to a year and a half of dating service and even at this extreme price, I went for it and signed the contract amaritizing the cost over 12 months. EACH AND EVERY DATE (7) they set me up on was completely off the mark. I felt as if they had nothing in their portfolio to match my criteria and that they were just sending me on these dates so I could "get my money's worth". Feedback was given after each date but to no avail. At the end of April, 2017, I received a call from Gigi who informed me my membership was coming to a close. WHAT a shock!! A 6 month membership??? For this price??? Needless to say, I was very upset. In speaking to her about this, she confirmed that indeed it was for only 6 months. "My bad "for signing on the dotted line without reading, but I was going on the verbal confirmation during the interview. I would NEVER have signed up for this price for 6 months!! On top of this shock, Gigi made it out to be my fault for being too picky saying the men she set me up with were now out there dating. What an insult. I disputed this fee with my credit card company and because I did not withdraw within the 3 day window, I was not able to receive a refund. This company is a SCAM. I am appalled they call themselves professional and I would highly discourage anyone from using them, especially at this cost. The men I went on a dates with complained of the same. One even said I was "one of his 3 free dates" due to a class action suit he was involved in. OMG!!! Their last ditch effort was to sign me up as a semi private client "at no cost" as they had "the perfect guy" for me! A little too late and completely dissatisfied!!!
