I have not gotten what I paid for.
I subscribed to Its just lunch last year in the spring and was promised 6 dates. I had to pause the service a few times and after resuming my membership I finally was offered a date but since that I have not heard anything from them and have received no response to emails asking why I am not getting matches or responses.

I want a refund of $2000

It's Just Lunch regrets to learn of any dissatisfaction the consumer has experienced as this is not the norm with IJL. The consumer joined It's Just Lunch for 6 month, 4 date membership, whichever comes last with 7 month of hold time. The consumer has had 3 scheduled dates and 1 declined match and utilized 165 days of hold time. We are actively working on his next match and will reach out to him to discuss his concerns further. Debbie did a great job finding me a compatible first date. She met the criteria I had given. I will be going on a second date. Debbie and staff keep the lines of communication open and I'm very happy with the process.

I am alleging that it is poor business practices including disclosure of service prior to contract being signed and ongoing issues with services.

On 2-3-18 I signed a contract with the information that the sales agent provided that all clients are paying members of IJL. I felt vulnerable and the agent was very encouraging that I would meet men of character as opposed to men from other websites. I was not allowed to view the contract until I paid.
I discovered upon reading the contract that potential dates are not always paid members of IJL. I wrote to the agent on 2-5-18 about the above and there was no response. I felt that I had no recourse and put the contract on hold. I resumed contract on 5.13.18 since I felt that I had no recourse and would try. I wrote to the agent on 5/22/23/25 AND did not get a response.
A dating specialist was assigned to me. On 5/23/18 I reached out twice to specialist. I did 3 times on 5/24 and twice on 5/25. It was difficult to get in touch or get a response. This dating specialist
#1 sent a information on a potential date that was meant for another member. She also sent info on a potential date that I did not accept. I later found out that none of my pictures was shown to the the date and that there were no pictures in my file. I did send pictures in early February to the agent who said they would be filed. She understood that it was important to me that potential dates be shown my pictures first. Dating specialist #1 told me that it is not necessary for potential dates to see my pictures. I learned a few weeks ago that this specialist #1 was fired.
After emails (5/25, 6/3, 6/6, 6/7) about the service I was given another dating specialist #2 who told me that nothing can be done in writing but only voice recorded. I see that as lack of transparency. Between 6/8 and 7/3 I communicated numerous times (one way many times) with specialist #2 and was told that she would set up a meeting with the agent in August. She never did!!
I wrote again and was given another specialist #3 who asked for a time and day to communicate. She never called as per our scheduled time. I had to contact her to make the meeting happen. I was given another specialist whom I asked for a refund and a contact and was once again assigned to a 4th specialist apparently a senior member of the team.
She wrote to me on 9/7 claiming that they wish to address my concerns - but they are not. She also stated that I requested not to be contacted. This is not true- I am requesting a refund. She also claimed that I should have cancelled the contact within 3 days. The contract does not have that clause. I called the general number for IJL and was told that contracts vary from state to state.
I asked for the email of the owner of the company and was denied this. I was told that I would be sent another contact and I am still waiting one week later.
In conclusion, I am disappointed about the lack of transparency regarding the contract; the method of IJL getting money first. The agent was very encouraging and responsive prior to the contract when I was vulnerable. Once the money was given, she did not answer all my emails or address my concerns. It has been an unpleasant experience in communication and delay of responses and follow-up
with specialists.
Over the last 6 months I find that as a customer I I asked numerous times for a refund and was always told that I cannot get one. This has been difficult, frustrating and disappointing. I am asking for a refund based on unfair and unethical business practices that includes delay in communication. I understand that this delay is to allow my contract time to expire. As the consumer I should not be working this hard and experiencing such difficulties. I have demonstrated confusing and poor business practices of IJL.
There is inconsistency in what I am told by the different specialist and lack of transparency.
I have not used the service in any way regarding any dating or any coaching. Based on my experiences and business practices of IJL I am eligible for a refund.

I am asking this business to refund the money I paid - $2,500.00 The contract has not expired and I am requesting it now before that happens. I also read quite a few reviews about the experiences about previous customers and it is certain that your business is not transparent nor is your personnel competent.

It's Just Lunch has reviewed the consumers concerns and regret to learn of any misunderstanding or miscommunication surrounding the It's Just Lunch dating process. The consumer is correct in the fact that all It's Just Lunch Clients are financially invested and have paid. It's Just Lunch specializes in matchmaking, which means It's Just Lunch recruits for our clients within our network of singles and presents matches to the Clients that are either an IJL recruited Match or another IJL Client, which is clearly outlined on page 1 of the membership agreement the consumer executed when becoming an It's Just Lunch Client. This is standard in the matchmaking industry and one of the biggest benefits of the consumer's membership. We aren't going to let the consumer just wait for another Client to become available! We are proactive on their behalf and work to find what it is they are looking for in a potential match to help them have a positive dating experience. Additionally, It's Just Lunch absolutely does allow any consumer to view the membership agreement, ask questions and provides as much time as necessary prior to executing the agreement. The agreement is emailed to the consumer with a link that allows them to review and take the time they need to understand the services provided. We do apologize if the consumer has experienced communication issues with her Matchmaking team as this is not the norm with IJL as we strive to respond within 24 hours. We have reached out directly to the consumer to discuss her concerns and work towards a resolution and urge her to contact us back to finalize the resolution. We look forward to working with her and helping her achieve her dating goals. Thank you.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I do not accept the response from IJL.Regarding the contract: I was not allowed to see it until I paid. Apart from the contract, they exhibited poor business practice and incompetency. Their response hinges on the contract and not on the other issues. It is far from only communication issues. My complaint clearly demonstrates this. My complaint letter clearly demonstrates the frustration and disappointment that I experienced. The issues that I had with them were very unpleasant. Please note that they offered me 250 dollars after I filed this complaint. This is only 10% of what I paid. They assigned a senior manager who told me about this offer or my choice to go ahead with the contract, accept the money or none of the two. I asked how they arrived at this dollar amount and she said that the managers discussed the case and arrived at this dollar amount. I told her that I would reply to her about this. I did so 2 weeks ago by email. It is interesting that IJL does not write anything in emails; I was told that they have a policy in which they do not write anything in emails. I asked her for 50% of my money in my last correspondence and she did not respond by email. This is a lack of transparency. She called and I did not answer since I feel I have had numerous conversations with many personnel with no results even after I explicitly said that I do not wish to continue with this company. I feel tremendous pressure during my conversations with IJL. I have had negative experiences and cannot continue with them. They are unwilling to see my point of view and willing to ignore my experiences. I am uncomfortable with this service and lack confidence in them. Their resolution according to the November 8 memo is for me to continue with the service. They are have not written about their 250 dollars offer in this memo. I would like to emphasize that they do believe that I should be reimbursed. The dispute is now how much. Ironically their response to this complaint does not include this offer. They claimed that they have reached out to discuss this and offer a resolution. The only resolution that Iwill accept is a reimbursement. I am tired of themoffering me to continue with the service. What is the resolution that they are offering. They are unwilling to resolve anything and are only offering a continuation of the service according to their Nov 9th memo. I believe that 1,250 dollars is a fair amount. Please note that I have not used this service. I have not gone on any dates. I will accept a loss of 50%. Finally, IJL do believe that I should be reimbursed: They made an offer. This demonstrates that I have a legitimate complaint. Unfortunately, it is a case of "he said, she said". They do not write anything in emails. If IJL is such an honorable company then they should be transparent and acknowledge the shortcomings in their personnel and the dissatisfaction of the customer. Every customer is unique. I am awaiting my reimbursement for 50% of what I paid. I will forward my mailing address to them.Thank you.

IJL indicated they could meet my minimum requirements for a date (e.g., ***, 5' 6" or less) Paid $2000 and the requirements were not met.
Contractual agreement made on 2/22/2018 for 6 months. Follow-up with an email to ***@ijlcorp.com on 3/5/18 to put my requirements (e.g., 5'6", Christian) in writing. Receive 2nd introduction on 3/14/18 for *** who was 5'8" - I said No due to being taller than 5'6". I sent ***@ijlcorp.com (Jas W)an email on 3/19/18 reiterating my requirements (e.g., 5'6" or less, ***). Jas W thanked me and said she would add it to my file - It should have been in the file already per my 3/5/18 email! The next introduction was with Georgene - I met Georgene on 4/6/18. Georgene indicated that she was not a *** - clearly Georgene was not vetted regarding her beliefs. I sent email to JasW after meeting (indicating Georgene was not a ***) l received an email on 4/10/18 from Jas W thanking for the feedback - completing ignoring that this introduction clearly did not meet my requirement for the woman being a ***. I sent Jas W an email on 4/24/18 and asked her to call me - *** did not call me. I never heard from Jas W again. I did not hear from IJL again until 7/9/18. This email was from ***@ijlcorp.com (*** H). The introduction provided by *** H was for *** who was 5'8" - again ignoring my height requirement. I sent *** H an email on 7/10/18 rejecting the introduction due to the height and explain the sequence of events from 3/5/18 to the present. I explain that IJL has clearly not met my requirements and requested a refund. I also cc ***@ijlcorp.com on the email - she was one the person I spoke with when I signed my IJL contract. My email was ignored - no one contacted me from IJL as of today's date - 9/14/18.

I would like a refund since IJL clearly could not provide introductions that met my most important requirements (i.e., 5'6" and Christian).

It's Just Lunch understands the consumer may be frustrated with the experience thus far as this is not the norm and we would like to work with the consumer to help him understand the matchmaking process and providing a positive experience. He is dating out of the St Louis location; however, we do want to address his concerns. To date, the consumer is on his second It's Just Lunch membership and has attended 1 date and declined 3 additional matches. It's Just Lunch does not match based on height. We will take it into consideration when looking at a match at large, however, we are not going to let a few inches stop us from presenting a great match. We wouldn't be around for 27 years and coordinated over 2 million first dates if we didn't have our client's best interest at heart for helping them meet their special someone. Our clients that come to us trust us as the experts and accept the matches we have in mind for them as the only way you will know if you have true chemistry with someone is sitting down with them face to face. It's Just Lunch is currently recruiting the consumer's next match closely following the general criteria and guidelines set fort in the initial interview as well as our teams expert matchmaking and will contact the consumer once his next match is available. IJL is able to provide the services under the terms of the membership agreement and a refund is not appropriate. Thank you

Refund for fee paid for failed matchmaking service.
I joined it's just lunch July 27th 2018. I signed the contract and paid the fee after being on the phone with the director for almost 2 hours. I had asked several times if this service would be able to deliver what I was looking for in a man. I was told that there was a vast database and it should be no issue for me. I then spoke with three additional people including one Skype interview. I was asked the same series of questions every time. I was told they would send me matches that fit my wishes and that I was able to review them and say yes or no to a meeting. If I was to answer no then they would want to discover the reason to correct it to find the best mate. I was told this several times by several people. I received two matches over the next two weeks and neither were what I had listed. I replied by email to my "matchmaker" two times, called and emailed the original director that I spoke with and placed phone calls, all which have been unanswered. I'm extremely disappointed in the way this company preys on people's desire to find love. It has been two weeks with no response.

The consumer is dating out of the Norfolk It's Just Lunch location, not the Dallas, however, we would like to address her concerns. It's Just Lunch has reached out to the consumer on numerous occasions to discuss her concerns via telephone. The Consumer is not open to speaking via telephone which is the most effective way to resolve her concerns. It's Just Lunch is actively working to recruit matches for the consumer which we feel will be a great fit based on our 27 years of experience as well as the Consumer's general criteria and guidelines set for in the initial interview. The Consumer does have the control to accept or decline the matches presented, which she has taken advantage. We urge the consumer to connect via telephone with the manager that has been contacting her to work towards a resolution and to help the consumer achiever her dating goals. I have actually spoken with 4 additional people in "management" and one from the "escalation" team. My request has always been the same. I demand a refund due to lack of professionalism, false advertisement and mistruths. I have been told that a refund is not possible. Actually, as a consumer or refund is 100% possible. This company generates Revenue based on lies, case in point with this response. I will not stop until I get my refund. that is due to me. Something needs to be done about this company and lack of ethics.

I was not given what I was promised in the sales process so I want a refund.
I gave them two requirements at the beginning. 1) the gentleman had to be taller than me and 2) the gentleman not be obese.

My first date was with a guy that was 3 inches shorter than me. They didn't report his height on the one pager they sent me so I didn't think that was a question I even had to ask.

Date two was with a guy that was very obese. He needed two chairs to sit and couldn't walk across the room without running out of breath. We had nothing in common and he spent the entire time talking about his wealth.

Date three was the only date that was alright. He was within my requirements and was kind but we just didn't click. Totally understandable.

Date four (final date) was with a guy that was 5 inches shorter than me. They again didn't disclose his height. On top of that, he had interests that were so diverse from mine, we had nothing to talk about at dinner.

Each time I complained, they told me they provided me quality matches and that they don't match on preferences. If you don't match on preferences, why do you ask? I've asked for a refund multiple times, even after my first date but was denied each time. They are hard to get in contact with and will argue with you from beginning to end. I'm a paying customer. My needs should come first, not your quota to get dates for people you can't place with anyone else.

IJL does not match based on the physical characteristics, while we do that this into consideration, the consumer was able to preview the profile for their matches prior to attending the dates. The matches were presented to the consumer as they presented themselves to IJL. We wish the consumer the best in the future.

Its Just Lunch Does Not Meet Its Contractual Obligations.
I joined IJL with the hopes of dating very high quality men. I paid $2800 and was contractually promised a minimum of 4 dates. I had 2. I sent numerous emails and called and left messages and they never responded. I was cheated out of 2 dates. They are also a scam. The second date said that they had found him through an affiliate and he did not have to pay anything to go out on a date with me. I was a freebie and they found some Joe Blow off the street to date me and he was not a Member of IJL, he was an associate. He did not meet even my minimum criteria and was just someone they randomly called and asked if he would go out with me. I was livid. I called and complained and that is when they started ignoring my calls and ignoring my emails. I still have them all where I tried many times to get them and complete my dates. Their terms and conditions are horrible and they do not care if they meet them or not and as a consumer there is nothing we can do except file a complaint. It is a rip-off and they should have to meet their contractual obligations just as I would if I signed a contract. How they are still in business amazes me.

I want them to finish sending me on my last two dates. I am not asking for a refund. Just for my dates.

It's Just Lunch regrets to learn that the consumer did not enjoy her membership. In September 2017 the consumer informed IJL she was in Europe and not available for dating, at which time her account was placed on hold. IJL does not have record of calls or emails requesting to return her account to active status. Her membership had 4 months of hold time available, and if the membership is on hold for longer than the time available the membership will expire. The consumer has been updated that her account is expired and we wish her the best in the future.

My experience with IJL was not very pleasantries until I met Debbie. She has been very pleasant to speak with and seems like she actually wants to help me vs others whom want your money and could care less what you have to say. She has definitely changed my outlook on the company and I hope they appreciate her as much as I do. I hope this positive path continues as I still have some dates left and want to meet someone long term. I hope to change my neutral review to a 5 star by the end.

I have had a great experience with It's Just Lunch. Debbie H has been fantastic to work with. She has done a great job setting me up on dates on a regular basis and using my feedback to help tailor the next match. The dates I have had are people serious about meeting potential matches. IJL has proven a very successful alternative to online dating.

Failure to provide ANY dates since December 2017.
This is a total fraud and I, like others, feel like an it for not checking Revdex.com before engaging this company.

First match - dating specialist actually forwarded the Profile that it had previously sent to another lady - and included that lady's contact information! So much for confidentiality. I was given a new dating specialist.

Second match - I declined and attempted to provide greater clarity around what I was seeking.

Third match - I accepted and the day of, was informed that he changed his mind as he had found another match from a prior date.

Fourth match - I accepted and provided dates. No date was ever scheduled.

Desired Outcome

The contract does indicate no refund, but that assumes you actually provide a service. However, the business has failed to provide any services, and is not entitled to be unjustly enriched at my expense. I am an attorney and I will not hesitate to file a lawsuit over this.

IJL has provided services under the terms of the agreement. The consumer was provided matches that she declined to meet, therefore IJL was unable to schedule a date for the consumer due to this. This is part of her agreement and she has the right to decline the presented matches, however, we encourage our clients to meet the matches that their matchmakers, and trusted dating advocates are presenting them. Additionally, IJL did have a date scheduled for the consumer, however, her match had to cancel the date and we were unable to reschedule. IJL is aware of the consumer's concerns and have a member of our management team reaching out to discuss and work towards a resolution. We look forward to working with the consumer. Thank you.

Sorry to say that It's Just Lunch should have a class action lawsuit. All they do is lie to get your money then you may never hear from them again. Or they will have some dates whose profiles are totally opposite of what the actual reality is once I talked to the person.

I was told that this was a National company and if I moved I could transfer, even talked to Marie in Tampa about looking back in Minneapolis where I'm from, she said she'd do it. Now after talking to Minneapolis offices IJL is regional and they cannot go out of their local market.

Do not waste your money.

As a client of the It's Just Lunch Corporate office portfolio you are able to date in any one of our corporately owned locations, which are located both throughout the United States and internationally in Calgary and Edmonton, Canada; London; Dublin and Australia. Please note, however, the Minneapolis office is an independently owned and operated franchised location. We apologize for any confusion, but as a result, we are unable to source matches from that It's Just Lunch office.

I joined It's Just Lunch a few months ago. It has been really fun and enjoyable. The dates are are fun and always at a new place that I wanted to try out. Working with Debbie H is very enjoyable. She really works hard at finding the right fit for me and dates that are compatible with my schedule and my personality. It's a hassle free experience and refreshing to get to know dates face to face over a meal or drinks.

Overall, I have had a hard working matchmaker, and she has tried hard to find good fits for me, and have had a large number of potential matches, and I honestly think she works hard to try and find that great fit, and some people say it is not worth the money, but my on-line dating experience has been a compete waste of time and money (since guys have to pick up the charges almost every time), so I think Debbie tries hard to meet my needs in what I am looking for. *** T
