Our new house was built only a 10' x 10' slab for a back porch and desperately needed a useable space. We had contacted several companies that came out to look and give estimates, but each was rather weak and loosely estimated. Then not only was there no follow up, but also were unresponsive when we tried to follow up with them. We asked a friend that is a contract painter who he would recommend we contact and he said without a doubt that Archadeck was the best in town.
First, we were working from a blank slate. So I liked the selection of photos on the Archadeck website from past work where we could not only shop for what we liked, but then use it to indicate the type of work we wanted done. Steve came out with even more pictures for use to browse through. Since our total project is too big for our budget to do all at once, we decided to do a two-phase job. We chose a travertine patio with a shed type open shelter for phase one. Next year, we'll expand the patio and do an outdoor kitchen and fireplace. Steve invited us to the showroom to see samples and choose colors/styles. He then gave us a written estimate complete with drawing within a day. We decided on a start date a couple of months in the future. When we were ready, we put down the deposit and they got right to work. We met with the foreman Bill, who gave us his card and cell number and invited us to contact him directly with any concerns. Within two days, it was already framed up and was showing a defined space. Overnight, after the second day, there was a severe thunderstorm around 5am with heavy downpour. We noticed there was a drip coming in over the living room where the new roofing was attached. I texted Bill to let him know before I climbed up to the attic to see if I could get a bucket under it. By the time I came back down he'd already responded and there was a guy there within the hour, up on the roof in the pouring rain and got the leak stopped. We were really impressed by that rapid response and surprised that the guy would go up there in that weather. Ironically, had this not happened, I might have never discovered that the builder of the house (not Archadeck, obviously) had completely overlooked the insulation over the living room attic space, which was almost inaccessible (and probably why it had been missed). Steve promised to fix any damage done, but it ended up being no harm at all thanks to the rapid response.
They worked outside during the day while we were at work and the job continued to completion with visible progress every day when we got home. The only hold up was caused by the city inspector, who was requesting additional documentation. Once that was out of the way, work resumed within a couple of days and was done pretty much on schedule otherwise.
The finished product is beautiful and we could not be happier. It is exactly as we envisioned. The workmanship is first class and it looks like it was part of the original house's construction.
One thing about construction and remodeling; there will always be hiccups and holdups. Anyone who's ever had work done knows this. The key is how things are handled as they arise. I've had work done before, both at home and in past businesses. I've seen firsthand what it's like trying to chase down unresponsive contractors and subcontractors. With Bill and Archadeck, I was able to voice any concerns with a simple text to Bill and they were promptly addressed. I can't think of any way the process could have been simpler.
We will be contacting them to go ahead with phase two next year, and also have come up with a couple of stonework projects inside the house that we'll have them do as well. Obviously, we would recommend them to anyone.
Archadeck replaced an outside deck for me. Not only did they do a GREAT job in building it, they did it on time, professionally and without any problems. These are the first contractors I've ever been involved with that exceeded my expectations and were true to their word !! And they were very easy to contact, via phone, email or text. No phone tags!!
I will definitely be using them again for other house upgrades and repairs.

Archadeck made replacing a 20 year old deck as easy as it gets. xxxxx first asked what ideas I had in mind, then he worked around them with his professional suggestions. He came up with a perfect design that greatly improves the usability of the space. xxxxx, the master carpenter was fun for this former carpenter to watch. He used many timber frame style joints, and the materials are top notch. It not only makes for a better looking product, but longer lasting. The communication between xxxxx, xxxxx and myself was great in that we were all on the same page through the entire project. I wish that I could contract them to come to Colorado to build my new house!
The people at Archadeck of Charlotte were wonderful to work with--from the design stage to the construction stage to the attention to detail and finishing touches. Communication was great, and they even took care of a warranty issue very quickly.
We wanted to add a deck around our pool and I knew the only company to do the job was Archadeck. They built a beautiful deck and in the process we decided to add a screen porch which turned out better than we could have ever imagined. We spend so much time on the screen porch in the spring and fall. We love the people at Archadeck and would recommend them to anyone.

Very poor follow up and communication. Accepted job and states would be started within a week, then heard nothing back for two weeks. I reached out to see when the project was going to be started and stated same thing and yet again no response for two weeks. Finally because I needed my project completed I told him to forget it because clearly my job wasn't important to them.
My screen-room with xxxxx windows was just complete using Archadeck of Charlotte. From our first meeting with xxxxx through to the final stages, we were very pleased to have selected Archadeck as our builders. Our 8-9 week project ran ahead of schedule until the final week or two when all the minor finishes needed multiple crews to finish. We finished one week late, but the final product was very well worth it. The communication with our project manager, xxxxx, made it very easy to understand what to expect from day to day, to be able to express any concerns, and to get anything corrected that we felt should be changed. All of the crews that came in were extremely friendly and would answer any questions that I would be having. My porch, yard, and driveway were cleaned daily before they would leave and construction waste would be picked up weekly.
Without hesitation, I would use Archadeck for a future project and would recommend them to anyone who is looking to remodel or construct new living areas.

The crews were professional, polite and they kept the yard very clean and picked up after themselves every day.
xxxxx would call if the weather was going to hold them up and let us know his plans, which is rare today.
While the project went through its different stages xxxxx would call us in the evening just to ask if everything was going well. Now that's customer service!!!!
We love our new patio and look forward to many years of enjoyment.

As you might expect, we had a few unexpected issues along the way, but any issue that caused a delay or additional expense was discussed and agreed to before moving forward. Many of the changes came at our request because we changed our mind, added things or upgraded along the way, but there was never push back from Archadeck. In fact, a couple of times they actually talked us out of upgrades that would have added cost, but little long term benefit. Finally, we loved the crew assigned to our project. They were incredible craftsmen with terrific attention to detail. It was also nice to see that the site was clean and organized at the end of each day. Highly recommend!
The folks at Archadeck did an outstanding job turning my screened porch into an "Eze Breeze" enclosed porch. They were very knowledgeable about the product and installation. The workers were on-time, friendly and competent. They even found a factory defect in one of the windows and had it replaced--I would have never noticed.
My wife and I are now enjoying this part of the house.
I am currently a dissatisfied client of Archadeck. My husband and I were due to have a sunroom/porch/deck completed by 7/21/14. Currently the home addition is FAR from completion. When I have inquired at the Archadeck Charlotte office, I totally get the "run around" and ...."I will see what I can do"....or..." I will pass it along"...routine. Archadeck cares NOTHING about its clients and show no empathy once they get started on your project; as they could care less about the length of time it takes to complete the work. I will NEVER recommend this company to anyone as I have been DUKED!! I very disappointed in the lies and lack of respect and concern regarding my unfinished sunroom

The president of the company made several visits to our home to assure that we were pleased with the work. The work crews cleaned up the area at the end of each day as appropriate. Any inquiries regarding the projects were answered in a timely fashion by Archadeck staff. We are very pleased with how both projects turned out. I have already recommended Archadeck to neighbors who are considering similar projects.
