Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because: THE PREVIOUS "LIFETIME" WARRANTY CLAIM I MADE YEARS AGO COVERED BOTH THE WINDOWS AND THE INSTALLATION NOW THIS COMPANY IS INTERPRETING THE WARRANTY TO THEIR ADVANTAGE AND CLAIMING IT NEVER COVERED THE INSTALLATION COSTS THAT IS NOT TRUE.Sincerely,*** ***

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:Sincerely,their technician stated to me that my door allows air,rain,etcInside.The pictures show ice,condensation,etcThe door is malfunctioning.I have shone pictures to other professionals and other JeldWen salespeople,they have all stated something is wrong with my door.The sales people said they would replace door.I must have a lemon ..I am sure no one in charge at JeldWen would accept these conditions in their own home.Shame on this company for not providing a good product.*** ***

I am rejecting this response. The incompetence of Jeld-Wen employees is inexcusable. The length of time they have chosen to take to make a window is horrendous. This is all of their own volition because they chose to ignore the specific measurements and diagram sent to them by the installer. Not once, but TWICE they chose to ignore what the installer told them. Maybe they can explain why the installer would get other windows and doors correct, because those ones are in my house, but for some reason not the bay window. I have no faith that they will get the third attempt made properly, either. Evidently, Jeld-Wen doesn't know best!!!

I have included a photo of my doors to which Jeldwen say have an "alleged" defective surfaceThe surface of my doors was supposed to be SMOOTH (of them were), the remaining doors had a rough texture to them which my professional painter and professional contractor called "orange peeling"My professional painter is also happy to provide a letter commenting on the quality of the primed doors I received"Orange peeling" was present in the primed surface of of my doors, this phenomenon can be caused by the way the primer is sprayed, the angle at which the primer is sprayed, the distance the primer is sprayed on, and the temperature at which the primer is sprayed on; this was therefore obviously a manufacturers defectThe defective doors were replaced once, I was promised they would be looked over by a supervisor before they were sent out, they were not, and the replacement doors still had "orange peeling"I have since requested a refund for my solid doors and bifold closet doors in the amount of $I would have never purchased these doors if first of all they weren't all going to have the same texture or if they weren't going to be smooth (which was part of the special order specifications).Sincerely,*** ***

For several reasons one the doors was installed by my husband which is a union carpenter for 15yrs, he dose this everyday for a livingThen have been well maintainedIt was stated that the doors have not been painted or caulked, in which they have been caulked and painted actually several different colors The doors have a gap in between them and causes water to enter my homeWhich have caused the doora to rottenIm not sure how the rep you semt to my house missed the gap or the paint on the doorsI was
not offered any discount from jeld-wenNor will I accept a discount I believe that the doors should totally be replaced at no chargeI believe these doors are exterior doors, which means they should uphold any weather conditionsIf your product is unable to uphold weather conditions then they should be taken off the market for advertising and low qualityI request my doors to be replaced within 10daysI am attaching photos of the painted doors and the gap Sincerely,*** ***

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because: They claim the rot was caused by improper caulking but the door panels themselves are rotted. The door panels do not get caulked. Why did they rot in three years with a limited lifetime warranty? If they gave me new panels I would have to pay $for the new frame. Then I would have to pay a contractor to install two doors and a frame and have them painted. The new panels will probably rot in three years just like the ones I bought three years ago. I am rejecting this response because: The warranty for the windows/patio door in my home states: "Summit Window and Patio Door (“SUMMIT”) is pleased to guarantee and warrant that its aluminum and vinyl windows and patio doors shall be free from defects in materials and workmanship for the life of the home into which they are initially installed." I maintain that the window/patio door product installed in my home has defects in materials and/or workmanshipThe rate, location and type of seal failure are too consistent to be a random event
