Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

On March [redacted] I requested a quote for a move from Queens,NY to Ellenwood,Ga . Out of State Movers give me a quote for $920.00 for 235 cu ft @4.25 per cu ft. On March [redacted]  a [redacted] from that company came to my place and took an invertory of my things and the next day email me an updated quote of 1019.00 for 343 cu ft @3.25 per cu ft. While he was there I question him about the price and he inform me that it would only go up if I had more things added. On April [redacted] , [redacted] the driver and I found out that he was the owner as well. Told me that my things was more than what was quoted. Due to the fact that I was to be out of my place that same day that I had no other choice but to move.As [redacted] and another person began to pack my things in to wardrobe boxes instead of regular moving boxes. there use four wardboxes to pack my things. Kicthen, bathroom, pots and pans lamps shades ,books, dvd's and cd's . all mix in to the same boxes. They use my sheets ,towels ,pillows to cushion things. they wrap my tv and pictures frames in moving blankets and didn't use bubble wrap or crated the electronics stuffs. As he was moving one of the wardrobe boxes it fell and he didn't note that. He was to wrap the last sofa pillow and that never happen. The next day I went to the address on the paperwork to check on things and flound out that that wasn't the company address. so the promble that I am having now is to put in a claim I need  some numbers off of the paperwork that [redacted]s gave me, but is is so bad written that I can't see or and read it. . So if you would sent me a readable copy of my paper work so I can claim to lose and a address of your business I will move to the next step.    [redacted]

first, the move date was on sept. [redacted], not sept [redacted].second, [redacted] received a quote based on items provided by her son [redacted].on the day of the move, instead of 34 items including the boxes on the original quote, there was a total of 54 items.these are the items:entertainment center, A/C,...

Suitcase, fan, vacume, china cabinet, loveseat, iron board, Glass door, wood shelves, side table, bins, mirror, pictures.again, these are extra items on the day of the move. these items are not on the original list of items provided by [redacted].any company will charge for these extra additional items. [redacted] was aware of the price before the crew even start doing anything. [redacted] agreed, and signed the contract knowing how much it will cost for the move . [redacted] was aware of the delivery might take up to 14 business day. yes she also signed knowing that information as well. The truck did break down not far from [redacted]'s delivery address. the problem was fixed quickly and the delivery was made soon after. we offer [redacted] $200 discount for the inconvenience but, [redacted] refuse instead, decided to put an complaint.

We are very sorry for your lost/Missing items. this is not our intention of course. We are not in the business to damage or steal our customer's belongings. We  Out Of State Movers hold the same insurance policy like any other Moving Company. This is required by law.Regarding the Tool bag. When we located the missing Tool bag, we did not open it. We immediately ship the Tool bag back to [redacted] by [redacted].Again [redacted] still can open a Claim through our Claims department if he wishes. Anthems Claim Management. ###-###-####. [redacted] [redacted]Thank you. Sincerely,NoaOut Of State Movers.

In responds to this complaint #[redacted], [redacted] was present at the day of the move. [redacted] did sign the Binding Price before the truck was loaded. This means [redacted] understood, and agreed to the binding price before the truck was loaded.  The customer always have a choice...

if that the binding price was not agree, they can always send us away. In this case [redacted] did not send us away. [redacted] wanted us to proceed with the Move. The rate per cubic feet was NOT Change, and cannot/will not be change. The price on [redacted]’s move got a little higher was because, they had way more items then they originally given us over the phone estimate. We always give estimate over the phone according to the customer’s item list they provide us. On the day of the move the list was not the same as the list they provided before. There for the price will change.

Dear [redacted] and [redacted], we apologized for your stressful experience. We at Out of State Movers Inc. see our customers go through Moving experiences every day.....Excited, Happy, or can't wait for the Move to happen finally. Some sad & stressful as well. Regardless of what your emotions may be, we...

are there to help make all our customers go through their Moving process an happy & less stressful as easy transition as possible with our services. As we all know Moving could be a very over whelming process across the states.Regarding [redacted]'s concern about our truck being too small for his move, [redacted]'s estimate volume was 1627 cubic feet. The truck we sent to pick up [redacted]'s move is enough for the estimated volume,....  and more.Regarding the 2 box trucks [redacted] rented,....a 16 foot Box Truck = 900 cubic feet approximately. [redacted] rented 2 Box Trucks total: 1800 cubic feet. This alone is over the estimate volume that [redacted] has given us. This means after we have picked up [redacted]'s Move ( which is a full truck, over 1672 cubic feet original estimate) he still have to rent 2 box trucks to complete his Moving out. Clear to us that [redacted] had way more than what he suggested to us.On the same day of the move, our crew stayed and helped [redacted] packing his 16 foot rental Box Truck after they have finished loading our truck for no additional charge or fee. All because our foreman wanted to do something good and help out [redacted] and [redacted] to ease their stress. NO OTHER COMPANY WILL DO THAT FOR FREE.On top of that, [redacted] conveniently forgot to mention we left him a Hand truck for him to load his 2nd rental 16 foot Box truck that he has not return to us on the day we made Mr.Card's delivery. Which he agreed, and promised that he will give back . This was not a gift, this hand truck cost us $300 dollars.

[redacted] was quote 200 cubic feet @ 5.00 per cubic feet = $1,000 base on the items [redacted] provided us.The term Cubic feet is measure by the space you will use for your move.Again , the binding flat rate ($5.00 per cubic feet) will not and cannot be change by us or the customer regardless if you have more or less on the day of the move.[redacted] paid more because she had added more items to her original list. Items not on the original list were:*2 file cabinets*6 Pictures*1 queen size bed frame*1 queen size box spring*2 end table*1 wardrobe boxThese are no small items at all.On the day of the move [redacted] agreed and signed the contract. Knowing that she added extra items to the original quote which resulted higher in the price. The flat rate did not change. The cubic feet increased .

On the phone estimates are giving base on customer's information. Customer give us a list  of items they want to move and we give them a quote base on that list.Binding flat Rate will not and can not be change by us or the customer. This means on the day of the move , if the customer decided to...

take less the binding flat rate will still remain the same. If the customer decided to take more items on the day of the move the binding flat rate also remains the same. ( Binding flat rate remains the same regardless how much or how little you decided to take) For example: customer got a quote from us 500 cubic feet @ $5.00 per cubic feet.  On the day of the move the customer decided to take less. 200 cubic feet less. Out of State Movers Inc. can only charge the Customer 300 cubic feet @ $5.00 per cubic feet. Which is the space use only in our truck. Of course everyone understands if you have less , you are charge less.In [redacted]'s case the estimate was 200 cubic feet @ $5.00 per cubic feet Total: 11 house hold items included boxes. On the inventory list written on the day of the move, Total: 28 house hold items included items [redacted] did not include when she called us for a quote. (File cabinets; pictures; folding tables; bed frame and box springs; wardrobe box;  ...etc.) Note: NOT SMALL ITEMS AT ALL. So....[redacted] wonders why the price doubled. So.. we ask, why its understandable you expected to be charge less if you have less but, questions when clearly you have more items taken resulted the price being higher than the estimate. please review your quote, and the actual inventory list on the day of the move.

it was obviously open drill was missing, it was in the bag when loaded on the truck. at this point I am beginning to think the entire bag was deliberately left off the truck and when I complained the miraculously found it in the warehouse. How did the bag not get on the truck with the rest of my stuff.  a drill, battery charger, drill bits and extension cord do not walk away. I had that bag filled to top. hard time closing when I received the bag back it was broken and only half full. I have sent this to the dot office of transportation . I requested they pull your license.

Out of State Movers Inc. was scheduled to make a pick-up for [redacted] from a storage unit. [redacted]’s boxes were already packed, not by Out Of State Movers. There for, regarding the boxes being torn/dismantled, we have no control over that ,( especially when we did not pack those boxes...

ourselves). We use the same Moving boxes for all our customers, of course it was not our intention to torn/dismantle our customer’s boxes. Boxes do sometimes get torn/dismantle throughout the process of the move. With that said, NOT all the boxes we delivered are torn/dismantled. We apologizes for that .On the day of the pick-up, [redacted] was aware, and informed by our Foreman of the additional fee $250 to get a smaller truck to move her belongings to her building in case the Trailer wouldn’t fit . ( in most cases it would fit). [redacted] signed that she was aware of that.  [redacted] did NOT have to pay that additional fee of $250 to transport her belongings to her building. We did that with no additional charge, and Out Of State Movers Inc. issued [redacted] another discount of $100 due to the breakdown of the trailer on the way to her for the inconvenience. [redacted] agreed, and had no problems on  the day of the delivery.[redacted] got in total of more than $250 in discounts combined with $250 for the long carry that [redacted] was NEVER charge for.Regarding the foreman on the day of the move… yes he is Family

After reviewing [redacted]’s full contract, we have all the proof that [redacted] were aware of the delivery could take up to 21...

days,  provided his signature / signed by the customer .Yes, the foreman assigned to [redacted]’s job been in this industry for almost 25 years. This is what he does. Most customers like to be told the truth, and some doesn’t like to hear the truth. When the price goes up because of the shipment takes up more space [redacted] did not want to understand.Yes, [redacted] complained about how long the contract is. The contract is a contract. We did not make it extra long . This is for all our customers, and is by rules and regulations.Yes [redacted] expect the deliver from NY- FL on a trailer in 1 day. By law drivers must not exceed 10 hours of work a day, this is including…..work, driving, and breaks.Yes, [redacted] also signed the acknowledgement of the shuttle fee in case there will be restrictions or long carry on the delivery.Yes the insurance coverage is the basic insurance of .60 cents per pound any legit moving company will provided.  This is what the law says, we did not decided to give .60 cents per pound because we like this Number. The contract was explained in person before any work can be done. Only when the customer understood all, and the contract is signed then, the crew can start the process of the move. This is a practice we do in every job our foreman did just that.

Dear [redacted]Out Of State Movers Inc. is a license & insured Moving Company that goes by all the state rules and regulations. Anyone who’s looking for an legit Moving Company they should call us. We offer all our customer contact numbers & address to our claims department...

. Anthem Claim Management  [redacted]
[redacted]
[redacted]Just like when you get into an accident, you would/should  call the company to open up a Claim.$0.60 / per lb. is required by law. We did not make this up ourselves. We do not have Claim Forms in our office, that is why we cannot send you Claim Forms. This is why we have our claims department to take care of any claims. We take full responsibility on any boxes we packed on the Move. If its damaged you can contact Anthem Claim to open up a claim. The boxes you packed [redacted]  we do not have responsibility of.  The Rate which was changed/corrected from $4.25 to $3.25 like we mentioned on the first response. This was never a problem. It was an mistake that we corrected it on the day of the Move.Yes the Rate will not and cannot be change by Out of State Movers Inc. nor by the customers. This allows the customer to have control of how much they want to spend on their Move. The space the customers use in our truck will be calculated with the Rate they were given on the contract.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

Their response is laughable. They are scam artists for the reasons I stated in my initial complaint. 60 cents on the pound will not reimburse me for even one suit. They ripped me off from the beginning giving me a low estimate just to triple it on the move out date. These people should not be able to continue to rip people off. This is ridiculous.

Yes, the customer was informed that the furniture was over sized, this with all the furniture protected with moving blankets will take up more space, on top of the items not on the original estimate. this was not a secret . that is why the customer still insisted to go with the move and signed the...

contract. Signing the contract means the customer agreed and we can proceed to do the job to all the terms and conditions. customer also ask for a discount, our foreman provided a nice discount because customer ask for, and we provided. Customer was Happy  Discount given was not for a good review.customer was also informed that the Shipment was on Route, the shipment will get there when the shipment arrives. All this is supported by our contract signed by [redacted].The one whos doing the threatening is the Customer. Our company has been receiving threatening emails , Bashing our company, to our Staffs in the office.

We have paper work indicates  [redacted] understood and signed. [redacted]’s quote was a list of 41 Items that he needs to move. On the day of the move the list of items changed from 41 items to 68 items. The point is… The items increased from the original quote given by [redacted] , therefore the price was adjusted to the added extra items. The boxes are in different sizes. We filled up each boxes just to save up space. [redacted] agreed to that as well. Instead of leaving boxes unfilled to take up more space in the truck. Finally, contract that [redacted] has in his possessions is the same contract we have in our file. They are copies on one contract. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Responding the Moving Co's answers:  First of all, the "additional" items they added were false, as follows: *2 file cabinets    (these were 2 VERY SMALL, PLASTIC file "cabinets,  1' wide x 2' tall (picture attached)*6 Pictures          (The pictures were actually packed (poorly) in the 2 large boxes provided by the moving company. They DID NOT CREATE extra room. They were NOT PACKED SEPARATELY.*1 queen size bed frame  (EVERY BED COMES WITH A BED FRAME. DID THEY EXPECT DIFFERENTLY?  They broke the Bed Frame down and stood it upright in the truck (probably roughly 5" wide) *1 queen size bed box spring  (Again, EVERY BED comes with a Box Spring! Did they expect me to put my mattress on the floor?  This is part of the bed and they knew it would be part of the move)*2 end table (my 2 "end tables" are barely 1 feet tall and about 10" wide.  They were stacked on top of one another. (and weigh about 1 pound each)*1 wardrobe box - I was NEVER given an actual wardrobe box.  In fact the mover (Carlos) specifically suggested he "lay" my clothes flat in the boxes so as to take up less room.  In these 2 boxes is where he "stacked" my clothes, coats, pictures, bedding all together.  Pictures were not properly wrapped, rather "folded" in the clothes so they would not break.  (which 1 did break) Last, the company keeps leaving out a VERY important issue which is my MATTRESS.  I was quoted (by [redacted] 2-3x) that the mattress would be properly wrapped in plastic for sanitation.  Carlos (the mover) also specifically said (on the day of the move) he would take my mattress downstairs and wrap it in plastic.   However, this NEVER happened.  They placed a basic "moving blanket" on the bed which only covered half (at most) of the bed.  They put tape around it, yet it did NOT cover the bed.  When I received the bed, the blanket was falling off the mattress, and most of the mattress was not covered.   This means it traveled across the country (roughly 6 days) without proper sanitation.  And now there is a tear on the bottom of the mattress.I am asking for $1000 due to their negligence on the way they moved my mattress AND for falsely quoting me an unfair price.  The "extra" items they listed above are completely INACCURATE.  Every bed comes with a frame and boxspring!!  And an actual "wardrobe" box was never provided to me.  The "file cabinets" fit under a cabinet themselves are so small.  (picture attached) I am asking this to be resolved in a timely manner before needing to take additional action. [redacted]
