Kean Miller, Attorney at Law Reviews (62)

The point the customer is making is that he wants his building within the time frame he anticipated despite the ice, snow, and other weather conditions that have hindered the schedule.  The contractor is paid until he installs the building.  All Steel doesn't make a dime until the contractor installs the building.  We could have said, lets wait until the spring to attempt the installation so that we don't disappoint the customer or frustrate him when the weather prevents the contractor from working.. or impedes the speed at which he can work.   BUT, we didn't do that.  We scheduled it and attempted to get the building to him.  We will continue to do our best to get the building installed as soon as possible.  Our office will contact the customer with the next schedule we can arrange into his area.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this response/resolution is satisfactory to me. However in review of the other 22 complaint files, I would encourage you to review their response, as my experience with respect to scheduling is very similar.  It is odd they note that my calls were recorded, as when I rejected the install date (which IS true) I was told there was no knowledge of my vacation and no one had told them (*then how could it be recorded).  Either way I appreciate the support, and look forward to receipt of the refunded deposit, and will seek services of another reputable company.

My request for the Monday installation was stated at the time the order was placed. And the Monday installation they say they had Ashley working on was 8 full weeks after the order was placed. And not until after the complaint was filed. At that point I felt and still do that they can not be trusted. And to pay a additional $1500.00 plus dollars to a company that may or may not stand behind their product I feel would be foolish on my part. Some of the reasons I do not trust them are as follows.1) I was told in the web site that carports would be installed within 2 weeks at the most and it was not.2)I was told by Mitch that he would email me copies of recorded phone calls and he did not.

I am contacting you in regards to [redacted]. Complaint ID# [redacted]. We have been talking to his wife mostly through the Revdex.com site and Email. We have done everything we can with this customer. Our building is fine. The customers complaint that the building is not square on the concrete pad. The customers concrete pad is lop sided So our contractor had to square the building the best he could on a lopsided pad. We have advised the customer of this multiple times. At one point we had the customer in agreement but his wife would not let up. Her name is not on the order. We feel this complaint is unfair as we have done everything we can. Offered to come out and move the building to how she would want it or a partial refund for the customer to take the building as is. Customer is not demanding that we refund all of her money. There is not issue with our building at all.

We got this customers repair done.We apologize for the inconvenience.Thank you,All Steel Carports

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.   However,  I have not heard from them as of this date, Oct. 6th.  I have delayed accepting this as I was waiting for their call.   To show my good faith, I will notify the bank to allow the payment to go through.  I hope they contact me as they promised and resolve this quickly.  The building will soon be here a month and we have not be able to use it.

First of all, they responded that the contractors may be on roofs. This company installs carports...I've yet to see one attached to a roof. Second, Ashley stated that she could not contact them because there was no interpreter and they did not speak english. Brian stated when I spoke to him that he would direct the delivery to be made to the Thornville location as the contractors were already in Thornville. I also was told on several occasions that the contractors "refused" to deliver at a particular location or time and there was nothing to be done about their refusal. Tiffany was rude beyond any comparison! I feel like they reserve her to get on the phone and literally scream at customers. I feel that the CEO/Owner of the company should apologize personally for his bunch of rude employees. Every site I look at about this company has several complaints about their terrible and rude customer service.

I response to Mr. [redacted], We have called Mr. [redacted] and were unable to reach him. A voicemail was left for him asking to contact us back regarding his complaint. Mr. [redacted] called saying his roof was leaking, we immediately wrote up a repair to correct the leaking roof by sending another crew...

out. After that he called in and talked to Mitch stating that the water was coming through the base rail and concrete that a third party poured.Mitch did advise Mr. [redacted] of different options we have to help remedy the water coming through the base rail. He also gave him options that he could do his self to help save money on having a contractor come out and do the sealing that would be more cost effective The customer then said he would look in to it and call him back. Then we received this complaint.Once the customer contacts us back regarding the complaint we will go over options to help with the water coming through the base and concrete.  Thank you,Brian S[redacted]Customer Care Department / Quality Control AgentAll Steel Carports INC.800-730-7908 Ext:219765-284-0694 Ext:[email protected]: 765-284-2689

Sheet metal on this building is not covered under rust warranty, only the frame has a one year no rust warranty.Thank you,All Steel Carports

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted]. The business response makes it appear that they scheduled the install and contacted me prior to my response comments dated 10/17/2016. This is not the case! Tayde called on Friday, 10/21/2016 to say that she "thought" someone would be in my area on Tuesday to install our door.  I asked if someone would confirm for sure on Monday, as I needed to make arrangements for time off work.  I was told someone would call and confirm, and this did not happen.  Once again, I had to do the follow up and confirm that installation would actually occur on Tuesday. We FINALLY have the correct door installed on our carport. However, All Steel Carports has provided nothing but POOR COMMUNICATION, EMPTY PROMISES, and DEFICIENT CUSTOMER SERVICE.  My best advise to anyone looking to purchase a pole barn-type building or carport is Do Not Buy from All Steel Carports!
[redacted]

In response to
[redacted]  Complaint ID: [redacted]Despite his
decision not to install a vertical metal roof, All Steel Carports offered to
come back at our expense to install the caulking strip that he purchased. We even went
further to satisfy Mr. [redacted] by agreeing to pay for the caulking...

strip that was
needed to stop the leaking on the horizontal roof despite the fact we told him this
would likely happen if he did not have a vertical metal roof…  We bare no liability in this issue, but made
the offer in a show of effort to assist the customer. The punch
list he references that applying caulk strip was one of two tasks that we had
agreed to complete. The first task on the list was to confirm that
the number of Mobile home anchors were properly installed on the building. We
asked Mr. [redacted] to confirm if all anchors were installed but he indicated he
did not know so we offered to have the contractor confirm the amount of anchors
and install any missing. The total cost of the anchors on his contract was
$700.00 He has withheld double that amount for over a year.By his own
admission, All Steel Carports never requested or demanded the payment awaiting
the opportunity to install the anchors after the ground was thawed. We went
back and installed the anchors and he still refused to pay the company.Mr. [redacted]’s
complaint is that he is unsure he has proper anchors and that his horizontal
roof (61ft long) is leaking where the metal overlaps. Our “Punch
List” addressed both of these concerns, but Mr. [redacted] declined to have us come
back to fix the problems. We understand that Mr. [redacted] refused to pay us
because of the anchors and leaking roof. We accept that as he is entitled to
the proper amount of anchors for his building. We just have to be able to come
to the building to VERIFY how many are installed and if any others are needed.
If he cannot tell us how many anchors he has… and he will not allow us to come
back and verify the number of anchors for him, then how will we ever resolve
the concern about the anchors? Perhaps he feels that if he doesn’t let us come
back on his property, then he won’t have to pay us because we can’t confirm he
has all of his anchors? As for the
roof, our offer to apply the caulking was the best remedy for the situation
that he has, but he has refused to allow is to come and make that application.  We had even offered to take the cost of the
caulking strip off the final payment that he purchased. Again,
despite the fact that our representative, Jake, Properly informed Mr. [redacted] of
the potential for leaking if he chose not to install a vertical metal roof.
This notification occurred on November 19th, 2014 the same day he
purchased the walk in door from Jake. Therefore,
All Steel Carports feels that the only solution to collect the $1,500.00 that
is owed to the company is through a legal cause of action.

Mr. [redacted] ordered a building from All Steel Carports
from our dealer in Troy, Mo., on Sept 8, 2015.   Mr. [redacted]’s installation of his building was
on Oct 7, 2015.At the time of the purchase Mr. [redacted] declined to use the
anchoring system that is provided by All Steel Carports and requested that we
use special anchors that he purchased instead, which were longer in size than
our anchors by 12 inches. The Contractor who installed the building for Mr. [redacted] made
EVERY attempt to install his anchors using the equipment we provide for
installation of our anchoring system.  There were to be 6 anchors installed in the building.  The contractor was able to install 4 of the
anchors but the remaining two anchors WOULD NOT go into the ground due to
either rock or concrete  or some very
hard substance that completely resisted the pressure of our anchoring machine
for this installationMr. [redacted] became very irritated with our crew when they were
unable to install the additional two anchors.  When the crew returned to their work to finish the roof, Mr. [redacted] took
possession of the anchoring machine and attempted, ON HIS OWN, to install the
anchors he felt the crew were NOT ATTEMPTING TO INSTALL.As a result, per Mr. [redacted]s letter to you, the machine threw
him around when he attempted to install the anchors that he felt the contractor
should have been able to do so easily. All Steel Carports cannot know when a customer’s ground has
rock surfaces that do not allow for the anchoring to secure to the ground.   We realize that the customer may not know
this either, but, per our contract with the customer, the building is installed
AS IS on the ground designated by the customer.Choosing to use an anchoring system outside of the one
provided by All Steel Carports is the customer’s option, however, the customer
assumes the liability for the system of their choice.  Even if the customer had opted for the All
Steel Carport anchoring system, we can only install anchors when the ground conditions
allow.  We are not obligated to find
solutions for anchoring issues.  If, per
say, our anchoring machine were to break down during an installation of our
anchoring system, then All Steel Carports would be liable for the task of
getting a new machine to allow us to install the anchors owed to the
customer!  If it took us a couple of days
to do that, and wind blew the building over.. then we would bear responsibility
for that damage as it was OUR RESPONSIBILITY to have the machine to install the
anchors the customer has purchased in our system. The customer chose an alternate anchoring system and our
contractor made every attempt to install the anchors without success.   Even the Customer attempted to install the
anchors using our machinery to do so without success.  Withstanding a miracle of the Almighty, these
anchors will not go into the ground due to issues with the customer’s ground
situation!  100 trips to the customer’s
location will not solve this problem.  It
is not a problem of our equipment, it is not a problem of an inability to do
the work, it is not a problem of not having anchors, it is a FACT that the
ground is too rocky to accept the anchor.Complaining that All Steel Carports can’t bust up the rocky
foundation to anchor his building is not a legitimate or fair complaintDealer Skip spoke to [redacted] and he gave a list. Nothing has changed in the ground since we have been to your
location. The ground has prevented us from installing the Anchors. We can install 3’ braces for any concern of swaying. The
cost of the 3' braces are $100.00 plus the $50.00 return fee. All communications at this point should be in writing.

Friday, October 16, 2015  This was theinformation we provided Ms. Welbourne when she threatened to file a Revdex.comcomplaint. We would like to publish this so that is very clear how reasonablewe have been with her.We now withdraw ouroffer for a discounted gable end.   [redacted]...

[redacted]All Steel Carports installed the building you ordered as per invoice # [redacted].   The dimensions of height, width, length as well as color and placement are exactly as you contracted us to deliver and install for you.   Please advise the Attorney General and the Revdex.com that you signed a contract and that the company you are accusing of fraud delivered precisely what you ordered as far as dimensions, color and placement areconcerned. Please also advise the Attorney General and the Revdex.com that when the building wasinstalled you signed yet a second time that the building installed was correct in dimension and color.Let me appeal to you to think about the fact that IF, WE had sent a building any size different than what you CONTRACTED with us to build, you would have every cause to be angry with our company and pursue legalaction against our company for failing to provide EXACTLY what you ordered.   You ordered and PAID for "THIS SIZE" but you broughtme  "THAT SIZE"   That, [redacted] constitutes your claimof fraudulentbusiness practices.Your claim that we should install a gable end, that you never ordered and at nocharge to you, based on the fact that we constructed a building precisely to the contract that you ORDERED is unreasonable.  You refer to the gable end as a HALF GABLEwhich implies that perhaps you should only have to be responsible for half of the price!  The issue is that there is NO SUCH THING as a half gable end.   What you have requested us to do is install all the components of a gabled end but only apply 1/2 of the sheet metal to the gable end and still leave you with the half of the sheet metal that you are asking us to FABRICATE to meet special requirements for your building.  So, in fact, you are getting a full gable end... and we are asking the contractor to CUT the metal for the "half gable", again,at no additional fabrication charge to you.The price of a full gable end, installed AT THE TIME OF CONSTRUCTION of yourbuilding is $175.00   (We have attached a copy of the pricing sheet for your review)And we even offered you a discount which you have dismissed Please also Advise the Attorney General and the Revdex.com that at the time of the installation you noted that a storm blew in causing the contractor to speed up his work to secure the building for you and as a result of the weather, several things were overlooked pertaining to some screws in thetrim and on the siding. Please also advise these parties that you requested that the contractor checkthe room to insure that no screws were missing on the roof as they hurried to get out of the storm.  There is no evidence that any are missing, but you requestedit, and as a courtesy we obliged and agreed to do that for you as per the punchlist. Please find the revised punch list which will reflect a 30% discount on thegable end and reconfirms our commitment to provide you with every modification that you have requested and every task that you feel needed to be addressed as per ourdiscussions with you.We believe that you have the building that you CONTRACTED with us to provide. You have an agreement from our company (called the punch list) to provide every additional service that you requested of our company all of which are being provided to you at NO CHARGE, with the exception of a gable end which you determined, after the building was installed, that you wished you had added to your order, and that, is being offered to you at our cost, which is a significant discount to you. Please consider my comments to you and if you feel there is any task that wefailed to place on the punch list, please email me back immediately and I will make any mortification which we have failed to properly list. All Steel Carports would like to complete the task list, whether or not youchoose to purchase the discounted gable end.  If you do not choose to purchase the gable end, just sign the document and note:  REMOVE REQUEST FOR GABLE END and we will comply.Respectfully,Brian [redacted]All Steel Carports Inc.[redacted]

In response to Mr. [redacted],   We do apologize about the inconvenience of misinformation on the website. We are still working on getting this changed, things like this do take time. Time frames for delivery can get moved up from what someone was previously told. That is why we write it in the contract of the order. “Installation I subject to change” We did try to work with your Monday only install, we had a schedule for a Monday and it was turned down.As for the call recordings they are internal use only for quality and training purposes. A deposit was paid at the time of order. It was paid to the dealer for his time in writing up the order. At this point there would be nothing we can do about refunding the deposit. It does state the deposit is nonrefundable on the contract that you signed at the time of order and the installation is subject to change. Our time frame right now is 6 weeks or sooner. We were within that time frame.   Thank you, Brian S[redacted] Customer Care Department / Quality Control Agent All Steel Carports INC. 800-730-7908 765-284-0694 [email protected] Fax: 765-284-2689

Please note that we have taken the appropriate actions so this does not happen in the future. We do agree with Mr. [redacted] that he should not have to pay a return trip fee. We...

will be waiving the fee and selling the panels at $120.00 per sheet as he was previously quoted.Again please accept our sincerest apology's regarding this matter.  Thank you,Brian S[redacted]Customer Care Department / Quality Control AgentAll Steel Carports INC.800-730-7908 Ext:219765-284-0694 Ext:[email protected]: 765-284-2689

We attempted to install Ms. [redacted]'s building within 18 days of receiving her order, but she was not ready due to permitting issues.  On Nov 15th, she contacted our office that she had her permit and was ready to install.  Dec 8th (4 weeks after she had her permit( the CSR called to...

schedule her for delivery on Dec 14th.She received several calls updating her on the schedule as the freezing rain and snow as well as a vehicle breakdown delayed the contractor.  We hated to call with a delay, but we did not want the customer waiting for the contractor when we KNEW that he was behind the schedule due to the cold, icy conditions.  The contractor was working as many hours and as fast as he could.  They were having to spend time removing snow from some customer's building sites just to install the building.  All of these matters created additional delays, but we called the customer on Dec 12, Dec 13 and Dec 15th to update her and reschedule as BEST WE KNEW HOW.  We do NOT have a crystal ball that we can tell just how long a delay will be.  On the 15th we spoke with the customer's husband and told him that the contractor should be at their location late on the 16th for the installation.  Dec 16th, the contractor had difficulty finding their location on his GPS and so he made a couple of calls from his helper's phone, but no one answered.  It would ring and go to busy.  We are not sure what happened with their communication, but the installer does not get paid if he does not install the building, so he had every reason to want to finish his trip and make the money from installing the customer's building. All Steel understands the customer's frustration and we will certainly put her back on the fastest schedule we can arrange to her area  We have holiday's now impacting the scheduling and the CSR is doing all she can to reschedule the customer based on the availability of contractors.  We believe the contractor tried his best to reach the customer, and it is unfortunate that they could not reach her.
